OBJECTIVE OF THE GAME TO WIN 45
The goal is to accumulate as much tricks as possible. And to exceed your score above 120. When your score is above 120 you win.
Rank in trump suit:
Spades and clubs: 5 (high), J, A, K, Q, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.
Hearts and Diamonds: 5 (high), J, A, K, Q, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 4, 3, 2.
Rank of cards in plain suits (no trump):
Spades and clubs: K (high), Q, J, A, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.
Diamonds: K (high), Q, J, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, A.
Hearts: K (high), Q, J, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2.
The game starts off with Bidding stage of the game (15,20,25,30). You hold bids when you are the dealer and make bids if you are not.
If you have received the bid then you may call trump. Calling Trump allows you to decide what cards are the strongest. (Someone Always calls trump).
The player whom called the Trump will receive a kitty (4 extra cards). When you receive the Kitty you will be able to discard cards. The player who did not call Trump will only be able to discard the cards he has.
Each player, in turn, must follow suit if possible if trump has been player. If unable to follow suit, a player may play any card they would like. If players do not play trump they can play any card they like.
ACES OF HEARTS
The Ace of hearts ignores trump rules (Except when trump is Hearts). This card can be played strategically to maximize your trick taking potential.

Love playing this game this is the only 45s game people should consider. Only thing we wish was that you could play more than 1v1 online unless you can and Im mistaking.
We started to play this as we were learning in person and it’s a huge supplement to learning. Now we play for fun, but there are some improvements that would make this game a lot better. The first would be that you should be able to let your hand play out if it’s all junk cards. If we’re not going to make any points, we shouldn’t have to play out the hand. If simulating a hand of our own like a computer player was an option, it’d keep us around longer. The scoring visual is great, but it’d be awesome to know what the value and suit of the bid is and which player got the bid. Other than that, this is a wonderful app and such a great low pressure game to play at work or on the phone.
Ability to play with another person online does not work.
We love the game of 45’s. Been playing Merrimack Valley style for 35 years. While this game scratches the itch, it leaves much to be decided. The 5 comes up on over 90% of the deals. Jack almost as much. And we’ve never seen as many A in any card game as we see in this one. The only version of this somewhat worth playing is cutthroat. There is no randomness to the cards. 4 player or Partner mode logic is completely broken. CPU partner outbidding you because they have a 5 and nothing else. No third man high. Not that we can build a better game. But then again we’re not an app builder.
Thanks Matt K for bringing this awesome game to the App Store. We’ve been playing with this app for a couple years and really appreciate your efforts. Parents grew up in Mingua Valley. Lol.
