Backgammon+ is a Board game from Adikus, first launched in 2nd April 2021.
It’s rated 12+ and currently has 11,042+ ratings on the App Store.

What Makes Backgammon+ Stand Out

It's just a well-known Backgammon game: everything you need to play and nothing more:
• a simple and nice interface
• play alone, with a friend or online
• works offline without internet
• wooden board and atmosphere
• both vertical and horizontal board orientations are supported
• the Doubling cube with the Crawford rule.

The dice are thrown randomly and do not depend on who is playing, AI level and board conditions.

-> WHAT IS SO SPECIAL ABOUT BACKGAMMON?
Backgammon is one of the oldest board games, dating back about 5,000 years. Now the game is popular worldwide.
Playing backgammon requires strategy, tactics and luck. With each roll of the dice, players choose from a variety of options to move the checkers, and must anticipate their opponents’ possible counter-moves.
In one game, luck in rolling the dice can be critical, but in a series of games, skill is critical to win.

-> HOW TO PLAY
Each player has 15 checkers of a different color that move in opposite directions counting the points according to the numbers rolled by a pair of dice. The player first to get his checkers around, and then off the board, wins the game.

Player Experience Highlights

Community Insight:

Awesome to play people from around the world! We only wish at some level you could use the doubling cube online! Hint, hint.

Good luck getting a favorable roll when youre bumped off the board. If we bump the computer off with a single open spot, it always gets the roll needed. We cant get the roll we need for more rolls that defy the odds. Deleted.

The game functions well and has playing options.

But computers better rolls than than player in solo mode.

Backgammon+ has had some great enhancements over the last year. We love playing it and hope it continues to be on Apple Arcade.

Intuitive interface and easy to play.

Fun while listening to a podcast.

We love Backgammon and have played in several forums. This is a good place to play.

It will not let us play at the hard level in solo play. Only easy and how many times we change it to difficult it remains set at medium. Very frustrating. Also we have our doubts about the randomness of the dice rolls.

Ive been playing this game (the regular non Apple Arcade) version for years and it is in general, our preferred Backgammon app, however we always feel that the rolls are generally more advantageous to the CPU than to the player. We wish we could see the distribution for each game and each match.

The Hard setting when playing the machine is too weighted to the machine. The dice make backgammon a game of chance but when the machine gets the roll 9 out of 10 times its not balanced properly. Medium is fair.

House gets all the breaks, you get none.

Its an excellent online backgammon app. The 3 stars and 5 because the rolls are not random. Games are fixed. Its obvious so dont bother responding saying its randomized. No its not, very frustrating.

We think the game uses weighted dice to implement the difficulty settings. Easy means you get very lucky with your rolls, Medium means you get somewhat unlucky, and Hard means you are extremely unlucky. Thats fine, but we would like an honest setting where the dice rolls are normally distributed.

This game is a solid game, however you the difficulty is set via die odds on the dice. The bot will roll always the right dice when it needs it.

Clean UI, no ads or junk just a solid fun game.

We used to play and enjoyed brushing up and playing friends.

So far been pleased with the game.

If you play on hard mode, your AI opponent will always get the exact roll needed to get them off the bar and hit your blot. Every time. It also gets doubles more often than you do.

Instead of making the computer opponent more skilled or tricky, increasing the difficulty level just gives you worse roll odds. On difficult, if you leave a lone puck, its guaranteed to get taken the next turn. Need to roll a 3 to get back on the board? Expect it to take 10 rolls. This means the strategy to win is completely unrealistic, and you cant take actual dice odds into consideration, and is insanely frustrating. To make it worse, the recent update made it harder, so even the medium difficulty has stupidly unrealistic dice odds. Beyond frustrating, and a sign of lazy coding. Npc logic starts the same, the only thing that changes is dice rolling odds. The only bright side is theres no ads.

Rolls of the dice are seriously skewed towards the App.

Fun game. Our stats/wins within the game reset to zero, though.

It plays well but we think the ai learned its better if it rolls doubles for itself. Online paired quickly its good enough and it may be good.

It is just incredible that the game is so rigged when you play at the top level. Please look into it.

We have been playing Backgammon for 45 years. It has been hard to find others who still want to play board games like this one. We can get online anytime and play games against the computer or against others. It satisfies our board games cravings. This is just like the real life board games.

A solid game with many different options for how to play (computer intelligence levels, points per match, etc.) we usually play medium level, 5 points per match. We also usually lose, but not always! A nice challenge. Also, we love the background music! Feels like you are playing a high stakes, intense match in the secret Backgammon backroom of a casino.

Relaxing way to pass the time. Nice.

We play this game more than any scrolling. We LOVE Backgammon and this game is amazing.

Ive been playing for a few weeks. Played a lot of backgammon when we were young.. Picking it back up with the kids perfect game for all.

Enjoyable when no advertisements to disturb our game time. We pay arcade a fee and shouldnot get advertisements that break into our game.

We love all the options you have in the game.

Finally made it fair by having random dice rolls for the computer player.

Hard mode vs the computer is great. It Implements an aggressive strategy that values suffocating opponents. The major drawback is the frequency of perfect rolls it receives. To beat close-to-perfect strategy is a challenge. To beat close-to-perfect strategy while it rolls close to perfect, youre going to get crushed. Have fun.

This is a great game. Ive turned into a much better backgammon player.

Maybe the best backgammon games.

This is a great game for learning (in single-player mode) how to play way, when to play aggressively versus conservatively. But be warned, the roll is not random.

If you play this game for some time youll notice that the game AI will manipulate the dice rolls to increase difficulty. If you leave a pip uncovered the computer will almost always get the perfect roll to take your piece out. The AI will simply get far superior dice results in a way that is not random. The devs should focus on making the computer opponent better and leave the dice random.

We enjoy the game because it keeps our mind active and it has several options in ways to play the game.

Ive loved Backgammon since the 60s (yeah, Im a Boomer!), and have played a lot irl and against our computers. This one has some interesting takes on defense and opposition. You will find this a challenge, unless youre tournament level.

Its a fun game, but there are times you get a feeling that its rigged.

We remember playing backgammon as a child and never really enjoying it. This game is totally different. We find ourselves playing it for hours on end. Its never boring and always exciting. We highly recommend it.

Love this game its well made. Enjoy playing it.

Solid, double dice could be more usable. Top five Ive used.

Im new to this game and finally learned it.

Whats not to like about a clean cut, easy to look at, ready to play, enjoyable game of AI programmed backgammon? Nothing at all if you like to play the easier levels.

Its great playing a game with no ads, just the game. We win most of the time on Medium, but on the hard level our victories are rare. Our only quibble with the graphics are the black pieces on the black points can be a little hard to see on an iPhone in poor lighting.

A great time with attractive graphics and solid gameplay.

Very authentic feels like playing with real dices best backgammon game ive ever played.

Seems like a great way to learn the game so far.

We play single player, for now, and it seems the rolls are fair enough on each side. We do need to move up to the more advanced. Sometimes, the "other" player doesn't take enough risks. Lol. Enjoy this game very much.
