What Makes Backgammon – Board Games Stand Out

Backgammon is a classic board game popular with many players around the world. Whether you are a beginner or expert player, this game may help to exercise your mind or relax after a long day at work. Enjoy classic gameplay right on your device, train your brain and have fun!

How to play Backgammon:

  • Classic Backgammon is a logic puzzle for two, played on a board of 24 triangles called points.
  • Each player sits on the opposite sides of the board with 15 checkers, black or white.
  • To start the game, players take turns and roll the dice.
  • Players move pieces based on the numbers rolled. For example, if you roll 2 and 5, you can move one piece 2 points and another one 5 points. Alternatively, you can move one piece 7 points.
  • Once all of a player’s pieces are in his or her “home”, that player may begin removing pieces off of the board.
  • A player wins once all of their pieces are removed from the board.

A few more things to know:

  • Rolling two of the same number allows you to move 4 times. For example, for a roll of 4 and 4, you can move a total of 16 points, although each piece must move 4 points at a time.
  • You cannot move a piece to a point that is occupied by 2 or more of your opponent’s pieces
  • If you move a piece to a point with only 1 of your opponent’s pieces on it, the rival’s piece is removed from the board and placed on the middle partition.

Simple and intuitive design lets you focus on the gameplay and master your skills. Start your first round, challenge yourself and keep your brain active!

This Puzzle game offers engaging gameplay and regular updates for mobile players.

Community Insight:

Great way to exercise a part of your brain to then sharpen your thinking for your work.

Literally any other ad than the dude with back hair and acne its disgusting.

Like the game itself, if the ads were less frequent and less tiresome to remove the experience would improve.

We were taught by a corporal in the Marines how to play backgammon. That was in 197550 years ago, but if you dont get decent rolls of the dice, well take the loss with a grain of salt. Learn blocking strategies, pray to the game board gods and remember. You cant win them all. Good luck ladies and gentlemen. Best game ever. Our advice if you cant find a human being to challenge, challenge the backgammon board. GOOD LUCK. P.S. This is better than any card game ever invented.

This is a very cool past time game.

Great , just wish there weee no adds.

Love game hate commercials hard to continue games with interruptions.

Hate the Add too many to short of time.

The one thing we feel should be allowed, is for us to see what our opponent just rolled and to see the board as well as the score. None of which is available because the window that pops up when being challenged with doubling covers all that information. Its unfair, as in an actual game, all these aspects are always visible. Thanks for a remarkably enjoyable game! Best ever!! Yosef >> Your reply << Thanks for your reply and we, along with many others, will patiently await your adjusting the doubling window. Consider a transparency window to allow visibility of what is being in play. Or a smaller window located below the game board. Its important to see both the score, positions and the roll in play this game has the element of chance and the element of reason must be available. Dont you think? Thanks again for providing such an invaluable, ancient game to enjoy! Yosef.

Game is good but add after each play is a bit too many.

We love this game, but please get rid of the Duke continuing education ad and ads like it that gets us stuck in a vicious circle and we cant go anywhere. It just took us 10 tries to get back to the game.

This game on expert mode cheats terribly. It will always get the right combinations needed to win, only give you doubles when you cant use them and make sure that it gets doubles multiple times a game, especially near the end of the round.

Of them all this board game is never bored.

If you play this game long enough, youll pick up on the patterns of the algorithms programmed as your computer opponent. You will have the edge as the player due to consistent algorithm patterns. Nonetheless, there is a pleasing challenge to remain consistent tournament, champion and complete all other Challenges consistently. We find this game immensely pleasurable and a nice way to keep our mind nimble.

We like playing this game would playing cause the battery to get really hot as we play.

Love the game, hate the constant ads.

There are a lot of options to choose from. We enjoy the daily challenges.

We win almost every game boring.

Commercials are a reasonable time. Not ridiculously long like other games.

Really enjoy this game. Great implementation. Clean. Simple. Keeps you playing for way too long LOL.

We really like that there is a fast mode in this version of backgammon, but what we do not like is that this version does not have a fast mode for doubles during fast mode? Can someone lead the charge to fix this during fast mode? Brett.

Question.why are there NEVER double sixes? Ive been playing this game a very long time and have NEVER seen double sixes. Why.

We have been playing this game for over a year and its a great game. We realize that there need to be ads, but after every move? Its not fun to play any longer.

Magically the opponent rolls the right combo to knock out two pieces very often.

Already have running ads at bottom but every few moves have to watch ads that are really long. More time watching ads than playing.

Us, can we change our name to: Fodozo? We feel like Im playing against Ai.

Ive enjoyed playing this, although Id love to have the option of a human opponent. We are a very experienced backgammon player (60+ years and took courses in game theory at university level), so we like being challenged. There is no doubt the higher levels of computer opponents know most of the tricks, and we find it difficult to win every tournament. The daily challenge is fun but usually easy to win, since the computers strategy is at a low level. However, this brings us to our only complaint. While the dice should be completely randomised, we have noticed a pattern that periodically favours the computer. Every so often the number of perfect rolls benefiting the computer, and adverse rolls disadvantaging the player (we.e. Us), are too significant to ignore. Yes, occasionally, Ill get some unbelievably favourable rolls ourselves, as opposed to poor rolls for the computer. Nevertheless, it is frustrating to see the game clearly put a thumb on the scale. We dont mind being outplayed; we just dislike those moments where we are disadvantaged in a way that doesnt accord with true random chance.

The code gets predictable as to what the opponent will role in the dice based on our move but still fun.

Good single player BG game, decent amount of ads and drains battery faster than other BG apps. We like the daily challenge and extra challenges. One thing for devs to look at is the doubling cube, when it comes up it takes up the full screen and you cant look at your board to determine if you want to take the cube or not. Would love to be able to minimize it so we can check out the options.

This is the best backgammon game Ive found so far, our only complaint is our phone gets super hot with this specific game. We havent found that with any other games Ive played.

Theres too many adds during the game. It would be fun without all the adds.

The board is visually attractive & the software seems pretty good. Dice rolls appear to us random-generated. Two complaints: 1) Too Easy – Im a good player, but not good enough to win 65% at Expert level. 2) algorithm is too linear – Computer-opponent doesnt vacate your 1st quadrant when its clear youre going to win, so you wind up getting more 2-point & 3-point wins than you should.

We really enjoy this version of backgammon. The only thing Id change is to be able to create an account so you can customize and save information. 4.5/5.

For the most part, we enjoy playing (the ad frequency is annoying), but Im trying to figure out if Im playing a real person. Some of their moves are beyond stupid and prolong the game. We wish we could pick a level, because we wouldnt pick this easy.

It would be nice to have a doubling cube so that some games could end earlier.

Like to play without or less commercials.

A better Backgammon App. Ez to move or chng a move. No real pattern of preplanned rolls from the Algo.

Ive never complained about ads, but when you run 30 second ads after every turn, thats when Im out. Sorry.

Of all the backgammon games we have tried this one has the best format. Its the easiest to play, however it cheats! The computer opponent will give itself doubles at the most predictable times. Even on the easy level, the computer gives itself the advantage way too often. It has become so predictable that it is too frustrating to play.

Too many ads interrupting play. Not worth the time.

We really enjoyed your game until ads started running about every 10-15 seconds. Very disappointing.

Playing against the phone the phone gets way more doubles. We probably wont keep this game.

The rng is unbalanced, giving advantage to the opponent in most cases.

No matter what level youre playing at, the opponent definitely gets the perfect roll 60-70% of the time while we get it 20-30%. Its a little frustrating when literally the only roll available gets the opponent the win.

We dont mind ads, but not right in the middle of the game. Why not show ads after each game is finished.

This was our favorite backgammon app. Clean game play & good UI. We didnt mind the occasional ads but now new persistent flashing ads are super annoying. May delete the app.

We love playing backgammon . We hate when its biased! We give them 3 chances to see if it is fair. Then we delete. The doubles always favored the opponent. We can see one game or even two in arrow but three!? We prefer to roll our own dice.

Overall good, but the opposite will always roll the number it needs to win no matter how improbable.

Any level played beyond beginner/easy is so rigged. How coincidental that every roll by the computer will land one of our open pieces. Makes playing the game very frustrating.

This is a fun game, but why does the house roll three doubles in a row and we get none. Seems like hes always winning and always rolling doubles.
