This is absolutely the worst game ever. You would think that the game is run by dominion. We have never experienced cheating like this.
At first we thought this game was for real but quickly realized how rigged the rolls are. Will never play again.
We signed up and played this game that we thought was an honest game. This game you have options to bet 0 coins, 5, 20 and 50. After playing for awhile we informed the owner that double rolls just dont happen in the real world. Example: One opponent we played against rolled 5 double 6’s. They told us that could honestly happen. We’ve played backgammon for over 50 years and such a thing just doesnt happen. We played against an opponent who rolled in consecutive order double 6’s then 5’s then 4’s. One night recently we decided to play games where we bet 50 coins for 13 STRAIGHT GAMES. We didnt win one game because of terrible rolls and opponents constantly rolling doubles. So we stopped playing that night and thought Id try again the next night. So the next night we played 8 games betting 50 coins for each. Of the 8 games we played we only won 2 games and the only reason we won those is because those opponents timed out which automatically gave us 50 coins each for those 2 games. If you want to play backgammon theres other games out there that are honest.
We could like this game if it werent so frustratingly slow! You simply loose focus from boredom. Also, need to increase the stakes/rewards.
Wow! We just updated this app. The format is bad! We decided to just go ahead and try it. Again the video to watch for coins does not work! Im deleting this app and finding a new one!
We logged into our account earlier today Friday 7/21/23 & had approx. 460k to 466k in our account. We logged back in this after noon Friday 7/21/23 & now there is approx. 304k. We want to know who was in our account & took our points. They need to be permanently banned from your site and our points need to be restored now! At this point no one from your co. Has reached out to us to solve the theft & return us our points, so we cant even give a effen star, but to leave this review we must give a star even though its not deserved. Star is only to leave the review & nothing else. Sorry not sorry. Do the right thing & find the thief, ban them for life, & return our points. EverLeigh is our game name.
Correction: now that we’ve played for awhile, this is worse. On hard and normal. We dont need this agitation. Delete This ones a little better than the rest but still too annoying. Just trying to relax and play a fair game, not get agitated. Not working.
After recent update, ads are ridiculous and even cause timeouts when sending invites to friends. We’ve played this app for months, some glitches-freezing, ghost pieces, etc, but NOW???!!!! Cant even get to the game because it times out most of the time, and if it doesnt, then the dice are rolled for us on first roll because ad was playing.. So frustrating.. DELETE DELETE DELETE.
We are not at all pleased with the updates.
Used to love this app, until this morning when we opened it to what appeared to be some cartoonish style of app that is insulting to the intelligence needed for this game. The board and graphics are infantile. Please return to the true feel of playing backgammon that this app embodied.
Why did you change it up? Most people are right-handed and now the dice on on the left! Also, the levels are way off! We play easy to difficult and ALL are difficult/expert. Ridiculous!
This was such a fun game, a classic to play with people across the world. We played more than 3k games. Now you update to a clownish game that appears targeted at juveniles with the layout, smaller board and larger ad on bottom of screen. You ruined it! THANKYOU.
The reason is very simple! Completely unbiased !! Great job, to whom did it! There is finally a game that only depends on ability to play and luck from the dice!
We try to play with an online opponent and all we get is searching. For over 5 minutes. We tried to contact someone about the issue over a day ago, and we get no reply. We removed the app, then put it back on our iPad. Still wont work. We really enjoy your game, but Im getting frustrated by this issue and the lack of response. Help!
We could almost deal with the ads before and after every round. If the game wasnt rigged. Played many games over the course of the past few days. Every time we would come close to winning, the computer would roll doubles. And then more doubles. We counted the number of doubles rolled in each game once we noticed it was happening, and the computer ran like a 3:1 ratio in its favor in rolling doubles. No thanks.
Now it doesnt even start games. Was good before, but it is completely unusable at this point. So now you can play games. But the opponent moves do not match the dice. Its completely random.
We cant play the game because we cant close the quick book ad. We’ve closed out the game, restarted and it still wont close. Please, either fix this or pull the ads for quick book.
Dice rolls favor the computer majority of the time.
Dont even say the dice rolls are random because they are not!!! We played multiple games and literally the other player would roll doubles and then doubles again and we would roll 1 & 2 and the 1 & 3 and the other player would always get just the right roll every time to get out of jail, to claim your piece or at the end to finish first. Plus it seemed at the end the opponent would roll back to back high doubles. Crappy game dont download it.
Waste of our priceless nerves, lost games due to tech problems!
The algorithms for this game ensure that the rolls favor the computer. The computer wins the initial roll 9 out of 10 times, when it should be closer to 50/50. And if you have a single piece open, the odds are 90% the computer will roll to hit your open piece. Fun if you like a game thats rigged against you from the beginning.
The game is fine, a little heavy with the ads. But the most frustrating aspect is trying to play championships. You can win the first game and select the button to continue playing in the championship, but after (another) ad, the game board stays frozen on the previous game. Does not matter how long you wait, cannot get to next game. Arrggghhhhh!
Fun enough. We only play online opponents so no comments on AI play. Many flaws include 1. Anyone can can resign at any time to avoid gammon even if gammon is assured 2. Anyone can just disconnect from the server and both sides will see their opponent time out and both players win. 3. Doubling doesnt apply to the coins you bet to start. So if you increase the starting bet, the doubling strategy math is silly and you should accept any double if you have even the slightest chance of winning. 4. It can be buggy. Every so often, usually when we are way ahead and starting to bear off checkers while opponent has checkers on the bar, the game does weird things like magically show us as having negative checkers on the bar and opponent times out. So fun enough to play but not much like competitive backgammon.
First, there are too many doubles for either side, would never normally happen and the rolls are very predictable. In one game the first four rolls were doubles, ridiculous! Two, we’ve been in the middle of a game, the screen goes blank, then to an ad! Cant get back to our game and lose points. Strike three, Im out, no more chances and we’ve given this game many chances. Too frustrating.
We love playing this game. We think it is the most authentic backgammon game ever Well designed and easy to play Please try to enable contact between players. As opening an opportunity to chat with each other. So we can see why players made certain decisions or moves.
This is a good game with not too many annoying commercials. We would buy it and skip commercials altogether but it tends to not run smoothly sometimes. Sometimes you have to punch the green arrow many times before it works and sometimes when you move your piece it keeps coming back to where you moved it from. Fix these little quirks and we will buy it.
Its all about a fair rollright? When Im just playing the AI we expect it to cheat. And it does. A lot (Hard). But when Im playing someone in, say, Turkey, we expect fair rolls. Doesnt happen with the frequency it should. How? Example? Just played a game we were winning when the opponent got three doubles in a row. Twice in this game, the opponent got two doubles in a row. In the meantime, Im getting 1/2 or 2/3over and over again. And then there are the number of times in other games we’ve played where the opponent gets more successful rolls to put us on the bar than is logical. So we delete the app, then reload it and try again (Einsteins theory of doing the same thing over again expecting different results). Right now, we just redownloaded it though we know Im going to be frustrated again.
You get kicked on, terrible game. Your open and 99% youll get hit,I could win Fan Dual on this betting alone.
Im beating the machine and we have a fairly strong position. We challenge by doubling which the machine refuses but then our only option is for ME to resign!? What sense does that make. Im done, send it back to the software guys and figure it out. Its off our menu for now.
The only strategy the opponent in single player has is to knock off our players, regardless of how many points it leaves vulnerable for itself. This strategy results in nothing but repetitive trips to the center bar by both players. We’ve yet to find a backgammon app that replicates a game with an experienced human.
We absolutely loved this months ago, but nownot so much. We had acquired over 2,000 coins and since then have lost almost every game due to the opponent being given multiple doubles. This was our favorite game to play, now not so much as we are down to less than 50 coins.
If you came to this app to learn strategy, move on. The strategy seems to revolve around controlling the dice. In easy mode, you get favored rolls. In hard mode, the opponent gets favored rolls. In medium mode, maybe the rolls are fair, but the opponents strategy is poor. Graphics are good, but rolling the dice is a waste of time, as are the ads. Sorry, moving on.
When we play against the computer, we sometimes double. If we then win, the program freezes and we get scored as if we lost. This keeps happening. What is going on?
We have never seen a random dice like this one. No need to prove our point, it is all written by the others. Play it as it comes. DO NOT PAY THOUGH. IT IS RIGGED.
We are a very good backgammon player and we’ve found playing in the single vs. Computer mode at the hard setting overwhelmingly favors the computers dice rolls. There is no way the rolls are random because the computer is almost always getting perfect, lucky rolls. Further, the strategy programmed for the computers play is to bump the opponent, no matter where its at on the board. Talk to any relatively knowledgeable backgammon player and they will tell you its not a good idea to open up stones that have progressed around the board unless its the only play available. We’ve deleted the game.
This game rolls itself about 5 – 10 times the doubles as any player can get. It also seem to always roll the right number to knock out a player. We hate cheaters.
Every game the computer gets the exact roll it needs to get. Its so predictable. Literally, if you think the perfect roll would be. Thats exactly what the computer will roll. That roll that never happens in the real world, the computer gets them all the time. Miracles, exactly as needed. So, its not real backgammon where the rules of chance are at play.
Ads are unbeatable and way too long. Deleted.
This is the ABSOLUTE WORST backgammon game in terms of the AI cheating. It’s unbelievable how it gets the exact roll it needs to knock out your open chip, the exact roll it needs to get its chip out, or the exact roll to double up its own chip. We would give this game NEGATIVE 5 stars if that were possible. We would appreciate if anyone could suggest a backgammon game in the iTunes store that doesn’t favor the AI so blatantly.
Dice are rigged the admin comes in under different names and makes you loose because you write them about their game! It is a demonic site!
Amazingly, with this setting, the dice always hit exactly what the computer needs to win!
This game is very unfair opponents get doubles three to four times more then you do. Opponents also always gets the rolls needed to bump your pieces. We have deleted this game and would not recommend it to anyone else.
This is set up so that youll lose more than win, we only needed to play two games to realize this when the game rolls 7 double sets of high numbers and we rolled four sets of low numbers between the two games so we deleted it.
This game is definitely computer generated. When playing against the app, it almost always wins. The dice outcomes are always to the app advantage no matter where you move. It also rolls doubles often for itself during a game but hardly ever for you.
