Story:
"What can change the nature of a man?"

You are The Nameless One, a hulking figure covered in scars and tattoos collected over the course of countless lives—none of which you can remember, but are now coming back to haunt you. You are prodded awake by Morte, a floating skull and keeper of secrets, to embark on an adventure taking the Nameless One from the dirty streets of Sigil into the mysterious Outer Planes and even into the depths of Hell itself.

In your search for answers, you’ll find companions matching the bizarre nature of the planes: a chaste succubus who can kill with a kiss, a confused crossbow-wielding cube, a suit of armor animated by a spirit demanding JUSTICE, and more. With these companions and others at The Nameless One’s side, you will explore worlds in search of answers, all to discover that some destinies cannot be escaped and some memories cost more than an immortal should be willing to pay.

Planescape: Torment Reviews

Tied with Super Smash bros melee. This is a 90s game so dont play it on an iPhone you need a big screen, ipad only.

Very cool retro game. Hope they bring back all of the old games.

Having tried some new games from the same company, (Overhaul) we are even more impressed with this game. So far there isn’t much out there that is better. We’re going to try Star Wars KOTR because it has such good reviews, but we are already missing this game – flaws and all. We didn’t think the story line was THAT important, but having tried Icewind Dale, we’re seeing a huge difference in the usual D&D dungeon grinds and this game’s detailed story line that has a reason for you to keep plugging away at the game. This is now our game to beat in RPG right now. I’d be thrilled to find others like it. —————-second review——————————– we’ve finished the game and am updating our review. We initially was frustrated by the design and gameplay. Along the way we became familiar with the controls well enough to tolerate them, the reading is still insane, and there are critical flaws – the worst of which are poor inventory management and the possibility of answering a question wrong and crippling your game options with no knowledge until much later in the game. We found myself using online guides a lot. And the ending was… Frustrating? Confusing? But interesting. Pretty solid story. Overall – five stars compared to some of the crud in the App Store. Four stars based on flaws and imperfections. We were too harsh on it earlier. ———————original review————————– This is a 20 year old game brought back to life. It is probably a blast from the past for some. But it is just an old game for us. Story looks superb. But it is filled with 20 years of frustration that modern game design has addressed. Things like bad inventory management, and accidentally causing the game to go on full attack towards your character. We wanted to be a thief and made our dexterity 18. But we’re a fighter. To improve you have to find "trainers." Some will love this. Not for us though.

You know the game. We agree with everyone about the issues with UI scaling, and the problems that come along with that. We’ve had to press-hold multiple times on a single inventory item to view its details/use, along with taking extra time to make sure we didnt miss-click anything. We got used to the small UI after a few hours, Im on an iPhone. If you can adapt to the small UI and can accept that the environment requires very precise finger-selection, then its def worth it.

We love all of the d&d games that are in this bundle but for some reason this is the only game that doesnt support the X, XS, 11, type screen size and we know this might also be a lot to ask but could you also hide the bar at bottom or at least blend it in like most of the games you know the tiny bar at the bottom of the screen however there are no real problems with the gameplay that we have seen so far thanks for reading and we hope that this is fixed on all of the games it would make them perfect!

… And we are NOT a gamer. Totally got us hooked on rpgs and we’ve purchased and played every game in the Infinity Collection. Now Im patiently waiting for a new release or a re-release of any similar game on iOS or Google Play by this developer.

And a good port. We do not play mobile games besides this and FTL.

We had some trouble getting into Planescape after playing Baldurs Gate and Icewind Dale, but we finally started playing it and was pleasantly surprised. One complaint though, the menu buttons are tiny and hard to press.

Sorry for hijacking this review section, but we were hoping we could get the devs attention on this. As for this game, its amazing, really. A bit unplayable on our phone but plays really well on iPad. Unforgettable storyline, gameplay, dialogue, etc.

Been wanting to play this for a while, and decided to go with this version vs the far more expensive PS4 Icewind Dale bundle. Im just finishing the first area, but already loving it! Much easier with our Apple Pencil, and Im thankful for the Zooming, Text Scaling and Difficulty Settings. We wouldnt play this on a phone, and honestly anyone who sees the UI and thinks its comfortable to play on a small screen may be expecting too much. If we had to nitpick, sometimes it takes a few tries to click on NPCs, and to press-hold on items to view them. But so far, no other complaints. So grateful we can play this on the go.

It’s just as amazing to replay this now all these years later on a touch screen as it was to originally on our old computer as a teen.

This game really doesn’t need an introduction. It’s widely praised as one of the greatest ever. You’d be hard pressed to find a game with better writing or a more original world. Having it on our phone is truly amazing. It’s a bit small but if you put font to max size in the options it works really well. Much easier to play than BG2. Pro tip: Max Int and Wisdom when making a character. Trust us.

Beamdog’s rehabilitation of the old Baldurs Gate games and Planescape has put a fresh new veneer on some of the best storytelling video games have to offer. We applaud their effort to port these games and offer them to a new generation of gamers almost 18 years after their original release. However, the love and care put in to the port is not enough to completely overcome the issues of bringing a game into a medium the original devs would have never dreamed up. The screen is too small on most iPhones to truly experience the game, and on newer phones the length surpasses the aspect ratio leaving long black bars on either side of the game. (An aside, there may be a function in settings that we keep missing that would fix this) An iPad will circumvent those issues or a DS stylus in a pinch, but the touch controls will always feel a tiny bit clunky compared to beamdog’s excellent PC remaster. Otherwise the game is preserved and improved with much effort and care, and if you can handle a small amount of frustration this game will certainly reward you.

Legendary RPG with a rich world, unique storyline, interesting characters, non-linear quests. Thank you so much! Please make a port of the Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura.

No audio on most recent ios, ipad air2******* if you mute notifications it mutes all games now! If you have no sound in game make sure the bell is not red when you swipe up.

Spent weeks trying to beat this game only to have our phone break and lose everything. Otherwise the game is great. Rough to play due to the tiny buttons but it works once you get the hang of it. Id love to be able to use some mods or at least a debug console so we can use some cheats when Im not in the mood to start from scratch again.

Theres nothing quite like the Planescape setting for Dungeons and Dragons, and this late-90s masterpiece makes it shine like never before … Or since, actually. Its delightfully weird, sometimes incredibly dark, sometimes incredibly self-aware and funny, and always a fascinating experience. The voice acting and music are particularly good. Its an incredibly game back when it came out, and this edition holds up. But for iOS: we played it through on our iPhone X with some difficulty. Our eyes strained more than a bit … High brightness will help a little. Our fingers are too big to reliably select items and view their descriptions (you hold down and release), so it took us anywhere from 1-10 tries. Similarly, selecting the right NPCs to talk to/attack is a peril-fraught endeavor. Im pretty patient about things like that, but we realize many are not, so if thats something that will bother you, beware. This game (and presumably the rest of the incomparable Infinity collection) is best played on an iPad. In sum: This game on iPhone is great for Dungeons and Dragons/tabletop RPG aficionados, as well as fans of the bizarre and fantastical, provided they are exceedingly patient with the limitations of the small screen. Screens smaller than the X may be drastically worse. This game on iPhone is not ideal for people whose eyes tire easily, for whom tight, easy controls are deal-breakers, or those who arent much into the storytelling style of D&D/Infinity Engine games. Its not a fast-paced Diablo-style RPG however much it looks like it; its much more in the Baldurs Gate / Fallout 1 style.

We were told to go to another website to post a bug report myself. You do it yourself. -1 Star for bad customer support. Fantastic port of one of the best games of all time. Five stars for the game itself, of course. For the port, great pinch-to-zoom implementation (the transition from map view to normal view is spectacular!) and good options and effects for the whole game. Here are three requests, though: – Please add keyboard support. We have a keyboard for our iPad, and the dialogue options have clear 1-2-3, but theres no way to do that. Just like on desktop, this game works great with cursor/touch, but keyboard makes it easier as well. – iCloud save support would be great! We have an iPad and an iPhone, and it would be great to share a save file between them! – If bug comments here dont matter, then have some way of submitting them your preferred way WITHIN the Planescape: Torment app. Otherwise, responses seem more like go away than let us listen to you better.

We know we cant be too far into the game, but it doesnt seem to have the same tempo of the rest of the bg series.

We have a XS Max and still the text and buttons/controls are tiny. It often takes several tries to hit the right button or dialog text. Not only are all the controls tiny, but there are a ton of them all next to each other so it is all too easy to hit the wrong one. Maybe add a pinch and zoom everywhere not just on the view area?

We wish we had seen the iPad only suggestion before buying this one. We’ve wanted to play this game for years, but our old eyes and stumpy fingers make the tiny UI a non-starter. Always read labels thoroughly, kids!

Excellent port of an excellent game, but it really needs a cloud save feature or a way to backup saves. We had an iPad crash and we lost a 20 hour game save. This is a common feature in most modern games and its especially useful when playing across iPhone and iPad.

Its gonna have to be a solid 3 for the port alone but if the game had a user-friendly zoom-in functionality for the menus it could be a 5 star masterpiece. We’ve tried playing this game on the road and its unbearable on a bumpy ride. Its worst than 3-D glasses at the theater! Its a shame, our phone is now the only place we can get our game on these days. You guys should challenge yourselves when porting these hidden gems, whats your motivation? Easy money? Fast cash? Because your work will be reflected in the end-results. We hope you guys look into this deal-breaking issue. Good luck Edit: thanks for taking the time to read our review. We already tried the UI menu scaling and its still not enough. We press the wrong buttons like 60 percent of the time. The buttons are not clunky or unresponsive; theyre just too small to accurately interact with them. Especially on the road.

It should be easy to just play back a video with an audio track.

Wont launch on our iPad, despite the App Store claiming it is compatible.

Someone commented on this TWO YEARS ago, the devs responded, but seemingly nothing came of it; the buttons and options for this game are incredibly tiny, requiring pinpoint accuracy to activate them, creating an extremely frustrating experience just trying to play the game. The Baldurs Gate games arent so bad thanks to the UI buttons being larger and clearly labeled, but the UI for Planescape is different, the options are smaller, closer together, which makes them harder to press. And no, increasing the font size doesnt help with options that are represented by images, and not text. You want to attack that enemy? Nope, instead of selecting your weapon, you just unpaused the game and had your party swarmed by enemies, who are now dropping like flies while you panic trying to hit the pause button again, and failing repeatedly. Seriously, ADD A UI SCALING OPTION!

Like a novice, we downloaded it eyes closed thinking we were going to enjoy our favorite rpg wherever we go. Its un-playable on an iphone 11. Resolution is 4:3. You cant see crap even with glasses. So yea… Ipad only…. In 4:3. Great work guys!…

The buttons are horribly small. We are in our mid-40s with decent vision and just cant enjoy playing this with the current size issues.

We literally cant pick up the scalpel at the very beginning of the game. Having an SE, we knew thered be some difficulties due to the size of the phone, but we figured youd at least be able to scale the UI. Nope. Just glad we bought this instead of BG or ID. Better 4 down the drain than 10. Dont buy if you have an SE.

This game is not playable on a phone. Looks like it would be a lot of fun on an iPad though, we wish we had one. They should mention this is for iPad only.

Cant press the right buttons most of the time cause the menu is too small. Needs to be at the very least 4 times bigger(seriously). We just cant play it. It also seems unresponsive to what Im trying to do but maybe our fingers are just too big for the freakishly small buttons.

Cannot even tap anything correctly because everything is too small. The developers clearly never had to play on an iPhone. Im on an iPhone X and its impossible.

DO NOT RECOMMEND TO BUY. The author just adjusts price as update content last year! Its better to go to play cracks, at least there is a language package inside.

This game is frozen in time and the effort to port it to mobile was minimal. Its like an unresponsive site that just scales down for mobile. Trying to click the menus requires multiple taps and seeing whats youre clicking requires a telescope. Dont buy it if youre hit with a pang of nostalgia. Youre better off with your memories of the original game.

Unplayable on an iPhone 7. Yes we adjusted the settings. We wish we could get a refund. We get suckered by every tactical rpg they put on here! Update: developer responded. Go to this website a give us more details. Here are the details. Your game is unplayable on a small screen and you or Apple should give everyone who bought it on a phone a refund.

This thing is kind of like Diablo, but the mobile phone adaptation is utter trash. UI is so small, untappable. Moving clicking attacking picking, are all multi step actions. UI is just plan ugly, very low res. Waste of $10.

We’re really enjoying playing these classic computer RPGs on our iPad. This one is very strange, but we were able to adapt quickly enough. If you’re familiar with Baldur’s Gate games and similar, this works similarly. We’re almost fifteen hours in. Having a blast. Watch out for the cranium rats!

We have always wanted to see what the fuss was in Planescape and yes it was as amazing as all that. Kudos to Beamdog on superior execution. We bought the app day one and played through with zero bugs or problems. Thats incredible on such a massive, complex game.

Thank you for bringing back our favourite RPG of all time. We long since lost the opportunity to play Torment on a PC. We had been waiting for the day the Planes once more appeared from beyond the veil…

Huge and immersive, with interesting graphics and challenging mysteries and puzzles. Many people will Iove this game. I, however, prefer games like Diablo, Avernum and Wizardry, where most of a player’s time is spent fighting monsters and acquiring gold, magic items and equipment. This game contains a LOT of dialogue, so expect to spend a lot of time conversing with NPCs; and if you happen to not ask someone a certain question, it can be detrimental to gameplay and character development. If you enjoy lots of dialogue, you’ll love this game, otherwise consider trying Bard’s Tale or Avernum.

Definitely a game for people who like to read and favor conversation over action (to each their own). Two stars based on price-to-value review: Broken quests that cannot be completed because dialogue options aren’t available. Ambiguous quests that leave you running around for hours chasing down hints with no indication how significant it may be, where the solution might be, nor explaining why you should care. Storyline npcs are indistinguishable from random non-story npcs because half the inhabitants use generic names.

We are a huge fan of this series of games. Baldurs Gate II is one of our top 3 games ever. That said, this port is no good. Dialog control is slow (these games have a lot of dialog), we have to click 5-10 times to be able to select an enemy. All around, not worth paying for.

It looks fun enough, as a mostly text based rpg… But clicking accurately is really hard… Its super buggy and action is not great.
