It is impossible to finish an unfinished practice game. The app just crashes. Sent an email to support, but it was ignored. No response, nor fix.
Seems ok, but takes awhile to get an online game in the beginning.
The change to make tournament matches more than just 1 point takes this app to a new level. Already the most social of its kind, now the tournament contests are most challenging and strategic. Yes, they take longer. Yes, there are players who are rude and use some crude language… But these things come when you prioritize what really matters to a community of strong players. Not perfect, but the best of what we’ve seen in its class… And it just got better.
Does not want to update existing program, but load new one.
Game is fun, dice rolls are not statistically valid…. Need to improve on this aspect. Still an issue with the dice, we have been tracking doubles count, after 20 games we had 39 sets of doubles compared to our opponent’s 62….. Do the math. During the last nine games, which we lost, we also lost the opening roll 8 times…. Tell us about the algorithm…. That is just what we tracked. The amount of hitting is ridiculous, clearly the dice are programmed to hit when available.
The new update doesnt display correctly. Fix it!
The graphics are all screwed up on our iPhone making the game unplayable.
Every time you issue an update it creates a series of loops taking one back to the App Store to open the game which refers one back to the App Store. Theres no way to play it just loops. Over and over for hours. Why cant one play the old version until the app is actually available in the App Store instead of endlessly looping the player back to the App Store?
Still no support for iPhone X screen, really really horrible. Cant even play after update. Beware!!!
Very frustrating handling by dev. Every time there is an update they try to confuse you to purchase before you can update to your original version. They have few version of this game on the store.

This game is a joke. No wonder rating is going down. Do updates that don’t do anything. Twice in a row it crashed and cost us. Don’t cares about elo. Only Russians have high scores.
Since this update we’ve been having issues. Our last two games we won we lost coins and have no way to contact the app designers!!!!
Game with computer not saved anymore.
We don’t see an option to change to the Facebook account we want to use. Google plus let’s you chose which account you want to use. We’re having trouble getting to our original account.
This last update ruined the game. We can’t play all the pieces anymore. Is there going to be a fix? Was the favorite game on our phone!
How this gets by Apple reviews is beyond us. Not only are the dice obviously, patently corrupt, it appears that the Russian developers have specifically coded to prejudice their app against Western players, probably using IP addresses to identify. If you don’t believe us, just try it. Whatever you do, though, don’t give them any money. And dont believe for a second their squirrelly sleezy response here. Right. And they didnt interfere with the US election either.
Today’s update is looping. Open the app & the app says update. App Store opens, the tab to open the app shows the update has taken place. Touch Open and the app reopens and says update the app. Response more than a month after sending the request. This game plays like our political system. It changes every day and some folks get better outcomes than stat says they should. October 11, 2017 – same looping. Reporting cheats through FB – players facing a 3x loss (a man on the bar or our inside table when we bear off all of our pips) just fail to move and suffer only a 2X loss (a gammon). The chat is dominated by non-English speaking players (and, this is the non-Russian channel) – we’re happy to play with anybody but an English, French, Spanish, Italian, & Portuguese chat would be refreshing. We will quit this game when we zero out our winnings. 30 days of play, a 46% win ratio, and over 7,000 games (all completed) and our ELO is 25. The rolls are way too convenient.
Been using for years, only problem for us, as we only play the computer, is that both players used the doubling cube, now Im the only one that can double.
Cant login any more. We type our login in Info but we see some strange characters.
Again dice are not random, our opponents alaways have more doubles.
We’ve found if we have a 3 roll lead taking off pieces, we generally lose. 3.5 roll lead and we generally win. Even and you lose 95 percent of the time. You cannot beat the computers well timed doubles.
This review is an edit. Since we wrote the review below, we’ve lost 103 game out of the last 115. Read below and youll probably want to stay away from this app. Let us start with, the developers will call us racist, Im not, but Russians did try to wreak havoc on the US during a presidential election. Next theyll tell you Im a conspiracy theorist… Not even close… We have a Phd in Biostatistics and working for 26 years as a Bio-Engineer. Fact: players have hacked this (app) game a couple times to manipulate the dice (developers admit this happened), this means the developers can also manipulate the dice (and they do it often) which proves our so called conspiracy theory is factual! And the developers often do rig the dice against players they dont like. (Read other reviews). This is by far and away the most corrupt of the backgammon apps. Most poeple dont write a review unless happy or feel down right ripped off. This app is an absolute (joke) rip off!!! Our games (last 200) have avgd 22% doubles per game (so not random) If you dont believe us play their free (practice) games and youll see. Unless youre Russian, Youll lose. Look at the ELO ratings and play one of the top rated players (all Russian)… They roll doubles like people eat peanuts… By the handfull. We’ve rolled a 1 an avg of 38% of all dice in our games. This is just the tip of the iceberg…. The developers made it this way…. Cheat, Cheat and Cheat! We cant wait to read their reply, theyll come up with you can check the dice, theyre random, read our FAQs… Ect… Dont buy their bologne… Its rotten and smells just like this backgammon app and the dice stink badly! It wont take you long to see what Im writing here, play the free practice games and then delete the app… Youll be happy you did!
This game is a scam and is rigged against you to take your coins! Dont buy their coins , better yet dont bother to download this app.

They will write that dice are random but its not true. When you play an online game, the starting rolls never match. Thats the first tip that shows there is dice control. Try this game if you like but dont count on random dice. Also, The online chat is stupid – only select (dumb) phrases can be used. It used to be good but they changed it for the worse.
When bearing off with 6-1 roll with checkers on 5 and 1 will only allow the one checker on 5 to bear off. This happened 2x in 2 days. Giving up. Technical upgrade flaws in the last two upgrades have cost us tens of thousands of coins. Going to find another backgammon game.
This latest version not only forced us to re register – requiring us to create new player name, it keeps crashing at random times. We had acquired 20,000 coin that was reset to 0, lost all of our friends, and did we mention? It keeps crashing our iPhone. We never got our coins back BTW. The latest version disabled private chat while playing with friends. We dont understand why they would do that. It took 10 months to get a reply from the developer.
Fast, online has many players. Offline is good to for airplane rides and such. Nice board choices. Hear some complaints from others about dice favoring opponents but thats the way player may feel when losing and it all goes around in the course of continued play. Developers work hard. They provide methods to check impartial dice roll integrity. Have been playing years now. Coin is reasonable and goes a long way. Much better than most of the other BG games online. Give it a try, we did and got hooked :)
Error starting game after update.
This app has changed so much over the last couple of years…. For the worse in our opinion. When we first started playing this app, you could chat with any player you chose to play with out of the queue. Then, that feature was removed & you could only chat with established friends. This defeated the purpose of making friends. We personally didnt add a player as a friend until after Id played & chatted with an individual a few times. But, we continued to play & just chose our matches from the queue based on bet size, name, photo or just random CHOICE. Now….. NO choice is available to us. The game now chooses who we can play, how many times, with or without extended time & we cant even pick a board design unless we choose the corresponding bet amount. And forget making friends! Main chat is the only place to have a conversation. Whats the purpose in that? Id rather be playing the game & chatting than just posting random comments in a group of players who may or may not speak same language. As soon as Im out of coin, Ill be leaving this game. Too bad…. At one time this was a fun game…. Now its boring…. Like playing the computer. Ill be looking for a new backgammon app…. We suggest you do too.
Let us start off with the ONLY good thing we have to say. **GOOD GRAPHICS AND THATS IT. This game cheats beyond reason. For example THREE GAMES IN A ROW the other guy had 12 double rolls and how many did we have? ONE! It lets the rich get richer and the poor keep losing. It will give the other person doubles beyond doubles when NO ONE IN REAL LIFE WOULD EVER ROLL THOSE. It says it is fair and it is COMPLETELY UNFAIR. APPLE SHOULD CHECK INTO THE SINCERITY OF THIS APP BECAUSE ITS A LIE.
Please fix the server. It always goes down. Why?? Get some guys to fix that.
Frequently freezes or completely quits. No ability to log back in until iPad restarted.

Looks like they might of fixed their dice algorithm.
If you love the game get a different app. We agree with all of the other reviews. The dice are not random- it sure feels like an outright lie that its random. They appear to be calculated in a way that forces you to buy more currency in online games. Theres no way that, for example, 20 rolls of two dice go by without a 1 coming up. Or 9 rolls in a row between competitors of 6 and 1. Its mathematically almost impossible. If it was once in awhile Id allow it. But its recurring. 34 rolls of 2 dice without a 5 on either. Get a different app if you want legitimacy.
It’s all about money. Dice algorithm makes you spend money to win.
There are two levels… The first is playing against a 4 year old and the second is playing against loaded dice. Computer needs a 4 and 5 to bump two of your pieces… Yup it gets it. You need a 6 5 or 3 to get back in… You roll nothing but 4, 2 and 1. Doubles left and right for computer… You might roll 1 double every other game. Trash.

Not random dice. Good game but make no mistake, dice arent random.
This game used to be fun. Recent update has changed that, it is NOT fun to be always crushed by unfair dice. Who wants to play a game they cannot win. Developers should be ashamed.
We have played this app for several years, and it always performed adequately. However, a recent update changed both the animation and the probabilities governing the dice. As for the first, the animation went from being intuitive to control and very quick to more persnickety on the input and painfully slow to watch. As for the second, the dice now appear to regularly award the AI opponent with a much higher rate of lucky rolls (where a lucky roll is a good double, a hit on an opponent’s pip, etc.) and the player with a higher rate of unlucky rolls (like unusable doubles, rolls that leave pips exposed, etc.). Not fun to play a cheat especially when he does it so slowly!
Rolls are ridiculously rigged … Not random at all….
