Its real easy to play and we love how we can play solo or with specific people. Did have an issue at first but the developer was quick to respond and it got resolved.
But this video game is a modern version of a boring game. Twists & bumps like every type of app game with rewards. The ones that stay more than a week have a chance to get more purchases. No extra purchases so far, but still enjoying LIFE.
Lots of fun!!! Loved the fast pace and perfect amount of suspense after deploying a missile! A few recommendations: – There is a lot of unused space which could be used by making the board bigger. Fat fingers know the struggle is real. – Add the names of the ships when theyre sunk. The names we make up are hilarious, but boring people might need them. – At the end, leave the screen up longer so we can see into the mind of our opponent by his crazy ship placement. – Is there a way to turn on some sort of ominous music and explosion sounds? Thank you for your consideration.
The AI in this game cheats so bad. Who ever programmed this game must have a very bad complex about losing. Who ever you are you should be ashamed of your selves. Could be a good game if it didnt cheat so much.
There is a bug in game where purchasing commanders or maps does not work! Ive tried restoring purchases does not work Ive reached out to the studio and no help. We dont know if its just something the developers can fix.
We love the game. Super simple and its anybodys game to win just make the right picks to hit a ship and its fair. Just dont like that we bought the shower collection and for some reason it hasnt given us the content. If the app ppl are reading this we want that content lol.
Super fun phone game that passes the time. We yell and laugh at our screen regularly when losing or winning a match.
Good game just like went we were a kid . Playing with our friends back in old time.
This game has nice graphics and sound effects, is quick enough to play anytime. All around fun.
First we are going to say that the small price for this game is worth it. This game is just like the original game we had as kids. One thing is lacking. . .maybe in an update. The game either needs to automatically say, You sank our battle ship! Or a button if the person whose battle ship is sunk can push if so inclined.
You see we dont have the BATTLESHIP board game which is why we had to buy this. There are no ads experience is amazing just as good as the board game.

Imagine if each special (Commanders) action was associated with a type of ship. Lose that ship, and you can no longer perform that special attack. Also: the AI cheats. And when it does, its very obvious and lazy about it.
You can battle, you can win, you can have a great time with Battleship.
Very fun game but there should be a reasonable time limit on each players turn. We have had some opponents stop playing in the middle of a game without disconnecting. Then the only way out is for us to surrender even if Im winning.
We wish the graphics were specific on which ships are being sunk or shot and in the original battleship you do not get to keep firing until you miss, you take turns regardless . Otherwise pretty fun.
Love this game, but how do we link our account on iPad and iPhone? Appears you cant which is reason for the review.
Online players get additional special moves much quicker than we because theyve spent money on other commanders. We have to wait to use special moves until we have enough points but opponents use them every turn.
We advanced up to level 40. Then we came back the next day and our profile no longer existed! Its making us start over from scratch. Besides that, the game is pretty good.
It is amazing how a hit can be scored in the middle of a ship and it knows where to go the other way to finish it off. Also in commander mode how does it let the opponent get to use whatever ordinance despite not having the points that we are required to we.e. Firing a torpedo with 2 points or an air strike with 4 when we need 9 to.
In-app purchases dont work. Have to write in for a refund. Tried to fill out a help ticket on their site and it wouldnt submit. Shoddy attention to detail.
Its fun until its not. About 90% of the time when you find the last ship but miss sinking it, the AI miraculously finds all of your remaining ships so you lose. Deleting this game. Id rather play the real game with our kid.
This app would be great if it wouldnt allow so much cheating. We cant tell you how many opponents Ive played online that get to use their special ability every other turn. This is not possible mathematically and yet it happens all the time. This would be a great online game otherwise.
Fighting against ai isnt fun as its landing every shot on medium. How do we go 7 turns without hitting anything but in those same 7 turns the AI sunk 3 of our boats.
Fun and much faster paced than the board game, but there are no free female characters? Really? Downgraded to two stars-constantly kicking us off and ending the gamevery unstable.

Its a strategic game that is enjoyable to play.
We bought the package upgrade so worth the variety. We play the with friends version, its the best!we do play each other in the same house but also with family out of state. So fun.
This is a really good version of battleship, we just need a pass-and-play version for our friends who we meet with regularly and dont have social media.
After you buy the first upgrade pack the battles are evenly matched.
The game is amazing, it would be so cool if you could add a pass and play mode for 2 people.
The game is fun to play, but there are a few annoyances that cause us to lower the rating. 1) The username can only be altered through Facebook. And that name is our real first name. Its either that or a name like WillyWombat528. 2) There are challenges that are realistic to meet, but others, such as WIN 3 ONLINE GAMES, that seem to force you to play online. The challenge doesnt go away until you play those online matches. 3) The game is flawed. Currently, we have 3 separate challenges, one to win 2 online games, one to play 3 online games, and finally one that requires us to face a specific nemesis twice. Well we have faced him 3 times and the game hasnt given us a credit for any of them. We are not playing online and when we play Johannes Schmidt, we dont get it credited. So we are not advancing as we should. We hope this review gets noticed and leads to some improvement. Update: Like usual, after we criticize something, specifically our point 3 issue, new information is learned. When the game says play with a certain character, it really means play as that character. We were able to progress along, once we dumped our favorite arsenal and played AS Johannes Schmidt.

Love the game play it all the time but Ive had people back out when they know they are going to lose and we think that should count as a win for us. Or at least let us finish our turn.
First off, this game is great its as simple as that. Its classic battleship but better in every way. Our only problem with the game are the micro transactions. There shouldnt be so many micro transactions in a game we already paid for. For those that havent played yet you only get half of the maps and only a fourth of the commanders. Commanders are different characters you can choose from that all varying different abilities. The multiplayer works well and you can even play with friends.
Dont get us wrong its a lot of fun, but we originally came to the App Store hoping the super old original one was still active, it was not just wish this one was more like it.
Fun game if you play by yourself or with someone else who purchased it as well. Unable to play offline with friends on one device where you are able to pass it back and forth. We understand it may be difficult but its not impossible to figure out how to keep the wrong person from viewing your board.
Enjoyable but so tired of having glitches that reset our account and ranking back to zero repeatedly.
We were almost at level 500 and the game reset for no reason to level 1. We started over again because we had no choice and got as far as level 4 beforeit reset again.
Omg! This game cheats so much! Where do we start? First off, the computer wins the coin flip about 80-90% of the time to allow it to go first. That alone is enough to 1-Star it. However, its ability to hit your smallest ship early in the game, and to string together hits is beyond pathetically cheat-filled. It will hit and immediately follow a path to hit consecutively, rarely missing. Also, this is NOT true battleship As they get the boats wrong.Also it gets the finger presses wrong a bunch. We will hit B3 and C4 will go off. This is just messed up. Frankly, if we had our way, the designers of this game would be in prison for consumer fraud. Read the other reviews, Marmalade gives a bunch of bogus answers for how their game is so hard to beat, but pretty much all the reviews point out this games blatant cheating. Apple should pull this crap from the store and force this sham of a company to give us a refund!!!! We will never buy a game by this company again.
If we hit Play Online or Play With Friends it pops up a message that Im not online. How do we fix this.
But somehow we can never win and the other player always knows where our ship starts/ends so never makes a mistake when firing on our ships. Wish we could get our money back for this HORRIBLE game.
What a fraud! First off, you pay for the game, but they want you to shell out more for useless DLC? However the worst part is the cheating. We have lost track of how many times we were beating the computer and suddenly it would sink 3, 4, and several times 5 of our ships in a row. Yes this was on hard level, but hard should not mean the computer decides to just take victory away that we have earned as players. This is outright consumer fraud. Games are supposed to be fun and challenging, not a total ripoff. Whoever programmed the AI must have fallen off the loser tree and hit every branch on the way down, climbed up again, and fell again, repeat, repeat, repeat, just like its cheating. Do not waste your money on this cheating trash.
When you play the single player mode on hard we can tell the game is completely rigged. The game knows where you placed your board and will beat you most of the time, no matter how or where you place the boats. Shame on you, Hasbro for allowing a rigged game in the App Store with your name on it.
Love this game when it works, but freezes a lot, and for weeks now online play with friends hasnt worked, saying invalid code every time. Fix the technical issues with the app and Ill give a higher rating because when it works, its awesome.
Why did u take away all our points and change our name? We had over 130 points and one day they were all gone and our name was changed. Why.
BUT they need to remove the online requirements for the advancement, we know they want to push people to the online, but there is never anyone online when we are able to join. So it locks advancement on those challenges. Leaving only one or two, or none if they all require it eventually.

Download this because reason one we already had other hasbro games and it was $4.99 just for this game $5 dollars to complete the set so we got the set. Anyways we cant play with our son Ive tried the lobby code and it say invalid code many times and tried by connecting through Facebook also and the requests arent coming through so now our son and we cant play together and hes the reason why we were looking into battleship in the first place.
