What Makes Blackwell 5: Epiphany Stand Out
A dead man's soul cries out against the force of a ferocious blizzard. He cries for help. He cries for answers. Then he screams as he is torn apart like damp tissue paper.
This wasn't the first time, and it won't be the last.
The police are powerless to stop it, so the duty falls to the only ones who can. What force could be so powerful – and so malevolent – that it would destroy the very core of a life in order to get what it wants? Rosa Blackwell and Joey Mallone mean to find out, even if it means risking themselves in the process.
The thrilling final game in the Blackwell series – "Blackwell 1: Legacy," "Blackwell 2: Unbound," "Blackwell 3: Convergence," and "Blackwell 4: Deception."
Rock Paper Shotgun – "It's pretty much the perfect ending, both wrapping up and nailing a series that's been going from strength to strength since it first appeared way back in 2006."
PC Gamer – "The high-point of a consistently strong series, and a great showcase of adventure game design that fits the story's theme." [82%]
Gazebo – "The Blackwell Epiphany powerfully and poetically concludes a game series which has lasted nearly a decade." [4/5]
Indiegames.com – "It nails the tone, raises the stakes, brilliantly concludes the over-arching story and looks better than ever."
RPGFan – "I'm delighted that the final game in the series capitalizes on all that came before and delivers a solid, satisfying ending." [85%]
This Roleplaying game offers engaging gameplay and regular updates for mobile players.

Community Insight:
The Blackwell games are a treasure, old school exploration adventure with some intuitive puzzles. Heavily story and character focused. Lots of suspense. None of that action combat stuff, just good story telling. The entire series is wonderful to get lost in for days. We love all of them. Unavowed is a fabulous Wadjet followup that we recommend. Wadjet can be hit or mis with their games, we dont love all their stuff, but theyre always unique and satisfying. Gilbert knows how to weave a good tale, and we appreciate that. This series is their best imo , especially if you want strong storylines. Good voice acting and dialogue too. Just a great series all around.
We never met a game of theirs that we didnt like. We even got a Windows device (the surface pro or the surface go we forget which) just so that we could play one of their games. Id rather play on iOS. Thank you for this series. We think we started somewhere in the middle. Starting at the beginning is probably the best idea. Your dark futures bundle is mind blowing. Thank you Dave Gilbert! Your upcoming games look great. We guess Ill have to pull out that windows device, which we hate, because it wont stand up. It keeps falling down. We also have played at least one of your games on our Nintendo switch (the excavation of Hobbs Barrow), which is a little awkward for a point and click, until we caught on. You are on our shortlist of best game makers. Its a pretty exclusive list. The Unavowed is fun and we think we needed a walk-through for some of it. We like that it has replay ability as well. Primordia was a little difficult to get started. Gemini Rue -mind blowing, Shardlight- mind blowing, techno Babylon- mind blowing. We cant remember if we ever finished Shivah, but we do remember starting it several times. We wish you would stick with iOS, but we will get whatever device we need so we can play your next games to come out. We think enough time has passed so that we can enjoy playing all of these games again. We hope our device can handle it. We have a lot of medical illness and pain and its games like these that help get our mind off of our misery. Its a good alternative to self hypnosis which medications can sometimes interfere with so for us its actually therapeutic. Keep up the good work and keep them coming, please.
Each one is better than the previous one. Great sound affects, lots of game play, fun characters, what can you say? Its from the Master.
We came upon the Blackwell series during a low point in our life, having been laid off and then months into a seemingly fruitless job search. They became a form of therapy for us, really putting things into perspective. Everyone will die some day. When that happens, regardless of what awaits us after death, the sources of pain and suffering in this life will fade away like mist. Well have to (get to) let all of it go. So why not get a head start on that now? Let go of your suffering. Focus on the good things in your life, and the good that you can do in your short time on this planet.
Bought all of these and they sucked us in. We loved playing them and Im sad its over. If you like point and clicks you will love these. Id love to see some more Blackwell games, maybe a few prequels or sequels.
Play the game, in order, from the first one. All the references throughout the game will make more sense, but your enjoyment of this final one will be fuller. The first game had some awkward gameplay and was short – but the story underpinning the entire series is well written and somewhat introspective. This last game was the best of the series. When Lias storyline unfolded we were impressed that the game went in that direction – this wasnt going to be some quirky rinky-dink yarn. We liked the games conclusion as well. Very fitting.
Now Im just sitting here, Ive watched the credits and everything. We feel abandoned.
What a rollercoaster this series was! Do not pass it up. We see people saying they started with this game to see if they want to play the whole series. Don't. Start from the beginning. Part of the fun is watching the graphics and voice acting get tighter and tighter through the series. Did not want this series to end, can't wait for more Wadjet Eye ports.
Beautifully written and engaging. Interesting puzzles and a great, satisfying wrap up to the saga.
This was a very pleasant experience. We appreciated the length and deep story line of the game. We wish there were more games out like this.
A satisfying emotional end to a well-crafted series that delivers on all its story promises.
The entire Blackwell series is highly recommended. They are approachable adventures that will test you but won't frustrate. The story is the star of this series. Dave Gilbert's tale is worth the very small admission price. High praise, too, for the voice actors. The commentary option offers a fun opportunity to replay the episode.
We're so glad they ported these to iOS so more people can experience them. These are intriguing and emotional games. Incredible stories, solid acting, and fun to puzzle through. <3 so sad the series is over but the end was perfect.
Been waiting a long time for this final game to release for the ios. We're just sad to see it end . Has been by far one of our favorite series for the ios. Good story, good everything! Thank you for the great game and will be playing more of Wadjet Eye Games.
Everything about the Blackwell series was perfect. We can honestly say we've never been so into a storyline and so attached to any characters as much as we are with this series. Was on an emotional roller coaster ride with these. Thank you for providing us gamers with something so solid. Hope Shardlight (or some of your other awesome games) is one day added to your library on here.
A great adventure game, intuitive gameplay and great story line. Now we think we will buy the previous installments in the series.
Some of the most fun we've had on an iOS game, ever. The whole series is well worth the money, but this last installment was just incredible. Now that it's over, we feel empty.
We had mixed enjoyment with the previous Blackwells, but this one has been utterly fun and captivating from the get-go. We're midway through and spacing out our playing to make it last.
We are sad that this is the conclusion; this is truly one of the best series of games that we have ever played. This game took hours to complete, had a compelling storyline, and moderately complex puzzles without a hint system (aside from the natural "plan next move" conversation option perhaps). We are looking forward to playing other games by Wadjet Eye Games. We can not fathom how much time and energy producing a game of this magnitude must take, but we appreciate its existence.
Played this on a PC but had to have this on our iPad mini. Have been a fan of this series from the start, and this latest episode (final?) does not disappoint. No problems so far with gameplay, and the music is so very atmospheric (jazz) for the setting and game era. The intimacy of the touchpad over the mouse adds to the feeling of immersion in the story. Puzzles are logical and the player isn't bogged down with countless inventory items at once. Player gets to be two characters of the duo and it's cool figuring out which character will be needed (but for long-time series fans, choosing won't be that difficult, lol). Looking forward to the next Wadget Eye Games creation–hope it's another mystery.
First-rate art, music, writing and acting. Even the puzzles strike a nice balance. You couldn't ask for a better conclusion to the Blackwell series. And for the record, Blackwell Epiphany is significantly longer than any of the other games.
Like the other parts in the series, we enjoyed this one and the characters were interesting. However, we had issues with lost progress, and having to manually save the game detracted from the story.
We just finished the Blackwell series, and man does it go out on a strong note. All of the previous games had good voice work and challenging puzzles, but this final chapter had such a tense, gripping plot and some plot twists that will make you jump out of your seat! And the final act will leave you speechless, maybe even a little teary-eyed. The only thing we have negative to say about it is that the side plot in the middle of the game was a bit laborious, and pulled you out of the pace that the main storyline was doing so well to set up. A game series worth every penny.
Really enjoying the game thus far, but how can we get Joey to blow on the computer mouse in Emil's office? The action bar that has blowing is not available when you are looking at the desk up close.
They keep deleting all the bad reviews instead of FIXING the mess. THIS GAME DOES NOT RETAIN YOUR PROGRESS!!!!!!! Know it now. We're spitting nails if you can't tell. DEEEEEEEEELETE.
