Description
In Bomber Captain, you take command of a Bomber in the midst of WWII as a recruit working for the Allied powers. Battle your way through several exciting missions as you face an onslaught of Axis fighters and guns in order to reach bombing targets including military factories, U-Boat docks and government buildings. As a valued member of the Allied forces, you have the power to turn the tide of war. Prepare for battle!
- Take control of your bomber by tilting your device to the left and right to dodge oncoming attacks.
- Simply tap on the screen in the desired location to fire machine guns at attacking fighter planes. You can fire up to two volleys of machine gun bullets at the same time with two fingers.
- Launch a set number of bombs at the touch of a button to hit marked targets and complete your missions.
- Realistic ground maps and plane models along with sound effects give you a feeling of participating in real battles.
- Volleys of ground to air missiles keep you on your toes as you prepare to bomb a target.
- Heavy damage to the plane, depending on where you’re hit, can either cripple the engines or kill crew members. It’s game over if all your crew members die or if all of your engines are destroyed. It will be a hard fought road to victory!
- Fly and fight your way through 12 exciting missions each with unique backdrops and mission targets and earn medals after certain battles.
- In missions you control a B-17 bomber and you face enemies that include FW190A and ME109 fighter planes.

Would be cooler if you had more bombers in a formation. But over all good game. It’s just a idea.

This game is pretty fun, but it is quite simple and has so-so graphics. It also needs a map so you can go back and play other levels. Also, maybe there should be an option to choose different planes and even have a small fleet. This changes would make it worth the $1 we spent.
This game is interesting and challenging. We really like hale its easy to use. We only recommend that in the next update make it so when you crash you could bail out and make it so you can have a bomb sight and so you can go different altitudes.
We paid the $.99 and on the download, it said that it needed to be updated. So we pressed keep and waiting for the download to continue for the update. So far its a big nogo. This may be a rip off, maybe not. Keep your eye on your money and the game.
Can you please update this game, we got it yesterday but we couldn’t play it because it was out dated.
We downloaded the game. We have an iPad Pro with latest iOS Update. We get a message saying the developer needs to update the app. We’ve requested a refund. We wouldnt buy at this time.
Excellent graphics. Realistic play for single dimension. Flak, and fighters. Killing Nazis. What could be better?

Very realistic feels cool but could you put where there are more planes in the sky and make it were we can get different planes of our choice on that level oh and 27 out of 30 of our friends said they would most likely get this app if you do that so if you want more money you might want to do that also the planes are a little slow.
We like it-though it would be nice to have some other bombers in the sky too. Not too fun getting ganged up on. Maybe after so many points you can "buy" some help. Another plane, or some fighter escort? Maybe even different bombers? B-24, British Lancaster? Other than that, our only complaint is that the plane flies kinda slow. Edit: it’s now august 2011-any plans for an update? We hope so! Edit#2: it’s now June 2012. Still waiting for an update. If there are no plans for one, could you at least tell us??
Does anyone know where the hidden missle sites are located.
We were a little skeptical of this at first. We read the four reviews with mixed feelings, but for 99 cents we tried it. We haven’t gone to far into the the story but it starts before world war 2. The sounds are alright kind of different. The gameplay is easy and simple. What we like is that if you lose all your gunners you wont be able to shoot anymore. Also if you lose your 3 pilots it’s over. The flak and fighters that attack are realistic. The first few levels are easy but it gets much harder. One other thing we like is if you take a hit to an engine it dies and your plane will tilt to one side… Kinda cool… If you like ww2 games or just want something casual this is a great buy.
Great take on the classic top-down flight shooter. Slow it may seem, but that’s what bombing runs are all about – patience. Historic missions and crew losses / aircraft damage add additional fun. Wish there were versions for other bombers. Lags a bit on our 3GS.
We honestly wasn’t impressed when we found out that you are one lone bomber taking on endless waves of fighter planes to reach a target. On top of that once all of your gunners die all you can hope is that the German planes run out of fuel or magically catch on fire (which they don’t). Any WWII buff like us knows that B17’s never flew alone. There were at least 25 to 30 bombers in a formation. And they had fighter escort 95% of the time. This game is a great game when you over look all the things above. If you are looking for a game to pass time and not get boring this is the game you have been looking for.
This game would be great with the plane flying formation! Really need to add more missions. We are waiting doran update. How about it ?
It’s a good game but it needs work. In the update there should be more bombers with you while your flying and it should let you choose your plane. Also change up the gameplay and add a twist to every mission because the mission are all basically the same. But if your wondering if you should buy the game we suggest you do so.
The game has a great concept but 3 big problems when ur engine takes damage it makes the game slower 2 there needs to be more bombers on screen a few below a few above 3 more flack lots more.
We’re surprised by all the high ratings as the sounds, animation and action are all really basic and unimpressive. Basically there’s 2-3 minutes of slowly droning along and following a few attacking planes with your finger (which is hard for us because our fingers are not transparent) and then you push the bomb button a bit and then back to droning and touching planes. It has some neat ideas and nice screenshots but seems like they ran out of money before they found the fun.
We like this game, but it is very slow both in the game play and in operation. Great graphics compared to others out there, but there are no upgrades to anything. Weapons, planes, machine guns… Give us something! Still played it to the end in a couple days though…
This game stinks! Please up-date so we din’t waste our money> we feel vilated with our money.
When over the target we have big FPS drop. Fix that please.
Painfully slow!!!! We were excited to download this game, it looks great (and it would be if it weren’t SO SLOWWWW!) we have a 3GS with plenty of memory so it’s not that, and of course we’ve rebooted many times. Hopefully a future update will fix this.
