Will YOU close the box?

CLOSE THE WHAT?

CloseTheBox is a realistic Shut the box game. It's a casual board game where you need to shut all the tiles with two dices.
As simple as that.

Top 10 in the Board/Dice games category in many countries.

More than 10 000 games were played in the first 24hours!

"Best game to play in the bathroom" -Thomas D

FEATURES

  • Almost a realistic design.
  • Sound effects.
  • Help mode. (or the "Don't think, just keep trying" mode. For the lazy minds).
  • Français/English, more languages to come soon!
  • It took me 134 times before I (without any cheat), closed it.

RULES

The rules of the classic game are quite simple.
You have in your possession two dices and a wooden box (let's pretend that it is!).
Your goal is to roll the dices to 'shut', or 'close' the box.
To do that, you need to roll the dices, and the total sum of the two will make a total that you can equalize by closing two of the shutters.
For example, if you have 8 in total, you can close 7+1, 6+2, 5+3, 5+2+1
Once a slider is shut, it stays shut for the whole game.
Many variants were invented to that game later on (coming in the next updates).
The game continues until all of the sliders are shut or until an impossible roll occurs.
If the player manages to close the box (the probability is pretty low), he has the privilege to write on the 'Box of Fame'.

Good luck!

Player Experience Highlights

Community Insight:

We love this game but its really annoying how when we close the box and we sign our name etc. And then it takes us to the box to see it and its never there.

This game is really famous so thanks for putting it on laptops our sister used to play it so thank you.

Family fun not easy to win ADDICTIVE Very Good Game Still not easy to win, but it can be done.

Just like the close the box game in real life, spare the ads. Reminds us of playing it with our Grandma the last time we saw her before her passing last year.

A quick, fast fun game. Simple rules. A little strategy but more luck. Nice graphics.

Helps with math quick decision making Has helped kids and now grandkids.

We could play this for hours it never gets boring! We love the excitement we get when we win! Its a very good online way to play. Very similar and feels like you are actually playing like with the board! Its one of our favorite games at the moment. :).

We really like the thought that goes into choosing your numbers to close and attempting to leave open numbers that can have the most benefits. Im going to buy this game after playing it in the App Store.

Simple . Fun. Hours of competition between us and the wife.

Very fun game with minimal advertisements. Simple concept but harder than you would imagine! Fun to play wherever and whenever.

Had this game growing up and just bought a player game that teach our grandkids. Then we found it in the App Store for our plane ride back to see the grandkids. They will be thrilled to know there is an app too! A million thanks.

We rolled a 6-6, thus 12 and all we had left up was 1, 2, 3 and 6, why doesnt that win.

Thought it looked fun and came to look for an app.

We played twice and closed the box. Beginners luck. Fun to play.

We first played this game in 1986. Its a great bar game.

What a great game to play when you have a few minutes to while away. We love the dice sound when you roll.

This game is a grate game for kids to learn to add and get the right amount of dice.

Absolutely love this game and can play it forever on end BUT!! Itd be nice to have the ability to play 2 player or VS so if we want to play against the wife or friends from distance we canthats our only issue with it.

Our only desire is that the numbers went up to 12.

What a rip-off… We had 1-2-3-6 remaining. We throw a 12…. YAY! We WIN! The game says… No moves available… Talk about buzzkill, LOL. Except for this glitch, yeah this fun… A throwback to the High Rollers game show from the 70s and 80s.

Ads pop up after the last roll and you dont get to see your last roll?! Before you can deduct that there are no plays left the ads pop up. Blah. Oh and we would happily pay a buck or 2 to have the option to remove ads. Happy to pay to remove ads. Not seeing an option for that unfortunately. Otherwise very nicely done. Could be a very zen experience if we could only pay to remove the ads.

Always loved this game and this app is a pretty good digital emulation of playing a physical box. Despite the developer reducing their frequency, the ads really are quite disruptive, intrusive, and irritating! However, if you put your device in airplane mode while playing, you wont be bothered with them. Apologies to the developer, but we hope some users find that a helpful hint.

It is ok. We had another one we liked better, but it is no longer available. We dont like that it allows 3 tabs.

Doesnt rotate & ads you have to watch for an unknown amount of time every 2 losses. After a couple of rounds and several ads we gave up out of boredom. We downloaded this game to pass the time playing, not sitting around waiting to play. At least they didnt over complicate a fun simple game like so many developers do these days.

The view automatically is set to one side, but you should be able to flip the view so you can use your stand properly. Im using an iPad Pro. You should be able to do the undo button, if you flip the wrong tile. Also, should add in the option to pay to remove ads. Thank you for listening.

We would like to play against a player and what numbers that are not closed would read from left to right as your score, not just win or lose.

Can we just buy the app and get rid of the ads? No where to do so.

The game should allow you to change your mind each round if you want If we roll say 7 and flip 5&2, but before we roll again we decide we want to change our selection to a 4&3, or 6&1. Right now if you try this it resets to a new game. Thanks.

Ive only played 2 games and got more advertisement time than game time.. Not our vibe.

We like the graphic execution but the ads are too annoying. How about a one time fee with no ads.

We only got 4 rolls in before our first ad.

There needs to be a single die roll option for tiles that the total six or below.

We saw the bar game on tiktok and heard they had an app so we were quick to download it. Ive been addicted since. BUT we feel like you have no chance at actually winning. We know games , especially these ones, are tough and thats why we enjoy them, but Ive been addicted for a week and we havent won a single game. Ive come close, but not a single game.

One minute of ads for every minute of game play. Untenable.

Great game but so annoying that all ads play with sound when you have sound turned off. Dont download this game if you want to play in a quiet setting.

Heavy on the ads, unlike an actual game, and not nearly as satisfying as the real thing.

The game automatically loads UPSIDE DOWN on our iPad and nothing we do will fix it.

The directions described by our voiceover, example swipe left to roll, did not make sense because we could not go left. We are a voiceover user and it just said the numbers, but not any way to roll them. The app did not really help us in anyway. Please if you can fix this for voiceover users. We have an iPhone 8 and its iOS 14.1, we think.

We do not mind ads in our free games but we do not support bring a sniper as something culturally acceptable for fun. So since this developer does support this we will not play the game or pay to get rid of the ads.

We WANT to pay and delete the ads. Please. We dont even look at them. Waste of a good game.

This app asks for your signature. Uninstalled it immediately after. What kind of sketch request is that.

Crashes, ads, more crushes and more ads! Free does not mean good, save your time, spend 99c instead and get something that actually works! Non stop ads, enough said.

Our sister and we really enjoy this game!! But could you please make it multiplayer it would be better.

Straight to the point and we'll made! We do wish for custom rules, or the ability to shake the dice before rolling. Only downside we see is that while on Skype the sound disapears.

It was fun until we won and we have to give our signature and name! Like, who wants to give that to someone.

Good graphics, but limited game play due to 2 tile limit. Other options are truer to original gameplay.

The classics rules are much better. We should be able to turn down as many numbers as to what the dice add up to be. The snakes eyes are ridiculous. You get them every 7-8 rolls.

In the normal version of this game, you can put down more than two tiles if you have a large enough number. Ie if you rule a 12, you would be able to put down the 1,2, and 9 and not just the 3 and 9. Also, after the sum of all tiles left is less than 6, you're only supposed to roll one dice. Developers need to learn the rules and make improvements.

Possibly the worst shut the box app.
