A Glimpse into ColorFill – Puzzle Masterpiece

Sometimes figuring out what an artwork really means is like solving a puzzle! So, we combined the two in this never-before-seen puzzle game.

In ColorFill, you must apply the correct color paint within each square to successfully reveal the artwork hidden beneath.

With a mechanic that’s brand new to the App Store, numbers on each painted square indicate the quantity of adjacent squares that share the same color. Use your logic and intuition to pinpoint the correct colors and complete your beautiful work of art! Avoid turning your masterpiece into a master-fail with a variety of power-ups.

As you advance in the game, the canvas increases in size and color variety, allowing you to form triptychs, quadriptychs, and more! When you complete 20 levels, you’ll unlock a masterpiece – the first of many that are available in this awesome puzzle game!

User Reviews on ColorFill – Puzzle Masterpiece

Looking for more information? Read a comprehensive review of ColorFill – Puzzle Masterpiece below:

The mechanics for this game are defined by color logic in a post apocalyptic Minesweeper world! Although solving the puzzles is a great mental workout and highly entertaining, the timed stages that appear early on cannot be completed without some guessing…. Unless you have the mind of a mainframe, and even then a huge dose of luck is warranted. The inevitable failure effectively remains such unless you are willing to buy your way out of the impasse, and the coins are not cheap. We would have been more willing to invest in the game if there were a decent amount of content (I.e., more than 10 stages) to complete prior to luck inserting itself as an uncontrollable factor. Uncontrollable, that is, by means other than your wallet.

Need an option to turn off timer. We deleted app.

How am we supposed to know that it wants it a certain way when it could be either way, we get so lucky when its like oh yeah thats the one but we know what Im doing. Like the green could go on the bottom or top empty spot and itd have no difference other than how the picture looks in the end. It drives us insane cause Im right but its like Mr. Mosby doing the little thing he does when someones wrong and Im right and ughh.

Yes, at its core its a fun math and color puzzle. In non-timed mode, its fun. But you really need to have two separate modes: non-timed and timed, and why not (a third) a mixed version as it is now. So this will severely limit our play as theres no way to advance in non-timed version only. Its biggest flaw is how it seeks to monetize this game through the in-game coins used throughout. Developers: if you come out with a version you can buy, without all this nonsense coin stuff, let us know. Great concept. Lousy execution.

This is a fun, interesting twist on Minesweeper, but the experience is ruined by the need to repeat multiple levels over and over, once you start failing, and you will fail as the game adds a very short timer. Too bad, as it would be fun if you had enough time to think through the puzzles.

This game has so much depth and creativity. Very impressed.

When we first started the game, we found it really challenging, but once we got the hang of the mechanics we couldn’t stop playing. Sure it’s not easy, but we never enjoyed playing easy games anyway. We appreciate a challenge and commend the developers for taking time to code a complex and difficult algorithm. Would def recommend giving this game a fair chance.

We did not expect to enjoy this puzzle game after reading through some of the reviews. However, after getting used to the mechanics and understanding the underlying basics of the game, we were able to devise a solid enough strategy to get through a good chunk of the game. Im by no means an expert, but we are finding myself more and more drawn to this unique game. Its certainly not for everyone as it will require you to think quite a bit and plan your moves. But, if you preservers, and get the hang of it, youll find yourself coming back, again, and again… Fantastic game!

It’s a really fun game, it took us a long time to adjust to the difficulty curve but we eventually 100%’d it after figuring out patterns. We love it! Can’t wait for more. Everyone who’s saying it’s too hard please just take some time with it. You’ll figure it out! :D.

Nifty little puzzle game, havent seen anything like it before!!

Loads of fun and very, super extra challenging.

Once you figure this game out, it is so so fun!! We are addicted. The only thing that disappointed us was when we beat level 20 we expected to go to level 21 where there was something new but instead we found myself back at level 1 of a new set. Come out with some more features so that the longevity of the game is increased!! Other than that, absolutely amazing.

We adore this game. We truly do. But the fact is, there is such a spike of difficulty right after level 5, it just doesnt seem fun anymore. Getting to level 8 is almost a miracle. Please lower the difficulty. The tutorial does a good job of explaining how to play, but the fact is that the first 25 levels should be much easier, just to give an idea. Either that, or Im just really bad at this. :(

The levels past the tutorial levels are too hard for beginners, like us. We cant finish the second mini picture and we’ve been on this gam for a week now. Just make it a little easier.

… We very much dislike the timed levels. We got to level 12 without guessing, there is a logic to it. But the timed levels take it from relaxing and clever to tense and frustrating. Ditch the timed levels and youve got 5 stars.

The game looks great and really caught our eye. The way it plays is also satisfying. But it is not easy – rather, it has no difficulty at all. Instead, it becomes a guessing game, and your success is based purely on whether you tap the correct square. There is often no way to determine whether a square should be colored in because of the vague instructions. Perhaps if you have luck, give it a try. It often goes as far as connecting two separate squares of the same color and/or filling in a corner or two. It then becomes a minefield, and we are certain that were the correct squares not predetermined, there would be multiple solutions to each puzzle. The game also discouraged us from replaying it by not only changing the puzzle each time we failed, but defining a fail as so much as a single misclick if you don’t watch an ad or spend coins to get another chance. And unless you have more coins, your next mistake will be your last. Our suggestions: don’t "fail" users. Simply highlight numbers whose conditions have not been met. Unlimited guesses. Even when someone simply fills the board with a color, it won’t work. They will have to actually solve to move on. Also, making the first few levels a bit easier wouldn’t be a bad idea. We cleared the first five levels no problem, but immediately got stuck on the sixth and seventh ones. In short, it’s great if you’re lucky or if you are a mega mind who can see the future. It needs improvement before it can earn a fourth or fifth star, but we are still giving three because the idea is creative and the graphics are great.

There is way to many ads. Other than that it can be fun but, it can also be frustrating to.

Great mind bending game that will challenge even the sharpest minds , glad we got to play it before to many adds took over . Ads between levels are annoying and distracting making it tough to play. Will admit as most we deleted the game twice due to difficulty beating puzzles but settled in and beat the ……. ( insert bad words here ) game . Most challenging puzzle game we’ve tried and did love it , but the ads are becoming to much.

After the first five levels the game becomes nearly impossible. You can barely make it to leave 7 without using a power up. Please make the game easier in the beginning so the game is enjoyable.

Like minesweeper, but with colors. Great for a quick game and a good amount of deductive reasoning. Sadly, some puzzles are unsolvable with deduction (like minesweeper). With a different level layout and structure that quirk might add to this games playability. As it is, though, its just annoying. We would pay good money for this game with no micro-transactions or timed levels. As it is, we deleted it after level 12.

We like this game as a fresh take on Minesweeper, but there are some notable flaws. 1) As others have mentioned, the difficulty spikes and then plateaus starting on level 6 which is a bit overwhelming when you have to learn how the logic works. However, after level 20 you start the cycle over again with five easy levels and fifteen harder levels. Admittedly, the second set of 20 was less painful–probably because we figured most of the logic out 2) Because all the levels are randomly generated, the whole level sequence and going back to checkpoints makes no sense in the grand scheme of things as the aforementioned difficulty curve gives no sense of progression. The game would be better off having regular and timed modes and endless levels. 3) While video ads are not spammed everywhere like most games, the fact that the ads FORCE AUDIO WHEN THE PHONE IS SET TO SILENT is unacceptable. No game with ads that we have played does this and we had to dock a star for that. Tl;dr: Fun as long as you’re willing to put in the time to figure out the puzzle logic, and don’t play the ads if you care about your phone being quiet.

This game is basically minesweeper with colors. Thats okay minesweeper is fun, but, after level 5 it become impossible to make any progress. Now Im decent at ours sweeper but its super unforgiving by dragging you back down several levels every time you make a mistake. Basically another pay or be ridiculously good game. The problem is that when even when you get past level 10 there is timed levels… Imagine expert ours sweeper that you have to beat in a minute. This game is impossible we could not even get past level 12 Deleted.

We were loving this game until we reached the timed level and thats when we realized that you have to spend coins to proceed. Even after beating level 12, we failed at the next level and it bumped us back to 11; starting the whole process again. It seems like the game is designed to make you spend cash, without which you will very likely be stuck at a lower level. We would have paid more money just to have access to the game without the timed element. Its a great game but sadly ruined.

This game has potential however it didnt last more than a couple hours. After you play approx 15 or so levels, there is no way to tell which blocks should be what color because of the way the puzzle begins. Micro transaction grab!!!! Buy some power ups why dont you? Too bad because this couldve been a keeper, the music is fantastic.

As others have noted, the game becomes much too difficult too early. In particular, the addition of a timer in Level 12 makes an otherwise relaxing logic game stressful and taxing. To make the difficulty even higher, making a single error often means being bumped back to earlier levels, requiring you to trudge through levels previously completed. Unfortunately, the high difficulty ultimately feels like a cash grab. Moving forward (especially in timed levels) sometimes requires purchasing coins for another shot at the same puzzle. After purchasing coins, but still being repeatedly kicked back to Level 10, Im done. Id happily pay $5 for a relaxed, normal version of this game. But as it currently stands, Im keeping our money deleting this exercise in frustration. On a final note, shame on the developers for using fake reviews. Note the pattern of 5 star reviews: A couple of nice words, less than a sentence, from user names with lower case middle initial.

We just downloaded the game and thought hey this would be a cool puzzle game. Boy was we wrong. Once past level 5 its already way too hard on top of that if you fail you have to go back to whatever check point was last, which could put someone behind further than what they already completed. It was a good concept for a game but very poorly executed. Its like a legit mission impossible meets minesweeper meets hell.

TLDR: simple design, ads that are seemingly impossible to click out of, resource hike, and puzzles where you have to guess we got to half way through the third set of 20 levels before the games issues became too much for us. Firstly the game is not complex, and as you continue to play you begin to recognize shapes that tell you that patterns you need to place reducing most of the puzzle solving to nothing more than a memory challenge. This would normally be solved by the introduction of new mechanics but that just never occurs. The game seems to be same the whole way through with the exception of timer challenges. Youre also given the puzzle screen on the timed challenges so you can solve portions of the puzzle before even playing making it almost a meaningless change. There are also chances youll get a puzzle where youre forced to guess about the placement of a particular square rather than a logical way of reducing it from two possibilities. The game is also overly punishing as a single miss click will force you to restart or to watch an ad/ spend coin to keep going. That wouldnt be an issue if they didnt give you less than a 4th or what it takes to restart in currency every 4 hours and if the Ads were capable of being closed out of when they finished.

Dec. 16, 2017 Game play is not fun. It defeats the purpose of a puzzle altogether. Too difficult to get past level 5. Cash grabis what the app is. Deleted.
