What Makes Dad's Monster House Stand Out

Dad's Monster House tells the story of Carlos' journey after he receives a distress call from his father, pleading for him to return to his old home and rescue his dad.
As he continues exploring the house, Carlos encounters many terrifying yet 'cute' monsters. As he solves the puzzles before him, he draws ever closer to the truth…
Freud once said: "Love and work, work and love…that's all there is."
But what of the pain, the struggles that arise
when we're forced to choose between our ambitions and love?
In dealing with such conundrums, we’ve all likely hurt those we hold dearest to us.
For it's often in the darkness that we feel most safe.
With Dad's Monster House, I wish to provide those kinds of heartrending memories a chance at redemption.
I dedicate it to scientists, to my childhood dreams;
to those I love, and to faded memories.
I hope that within you'll find the greatest of answers, be they for your love, for science, or dreams.

[Gameplay]
A sudden call in the deep of night has you return to a house you haven't visited for many a year. You must unravel one puzzle after another: to from within scenes intertwined with memories find clues and get to the bottom of your father's secret.
The choice of whether to redeem or ultimately end this sad story lies in your hands.

[Features]
Instead of going for bright and vivid colors, I have opted for a black-and-white art style. The fragmented narration, plentiful puzzles, and delicate sound designs create an immersive experience where you as the player get to truly feel the ups and downs of the protagonist's emotions. Continue to unravel the story as you collect more items…

This game offers engaging gameplay and regular updates for mobile players.

Community Insight:

We loved this game. Some parts were hard to complete because we didnt really understand where to go and without knowing we skipped 1 puzzle so it threw off our whole play to the point where we had to google what we did wrong. But once we got it we were able to finish it. The story is super interesting too. Definitely recommend.

This game is a gem. Congratulations to the creators.

We loved this game. We were stumped a few times but never overly frustrated or annoyed.

We have never written a review for an app before but we had to for this one. It was the most captivating and fun game we have ever played. We recommend it to anyone who loves a good puzzle.

Love all of these games, this one with a little different twist! Although they provide pen and paper we used our phone camera. Loved the logic and the clues. Our gripe of reviewers is that if they dont understand the game, its a bad review. Pay no attention to any negative reviews, this is a great game.

We highly recco all carton games. Having trouble with this one as its so difficult to figure out what to do next. The puzzles are easy-to- medium difficulty, and its delightful when we put a few things together to advance. But it takes us as many as 30 taps to try putting one thing with another. 1 item in one room, 1 clue in another and a place to use it in a third place. Cotton games generally are much easier to navigate, so we think Im missing something. Help.

Far too esoteric with no context whoever is rating this highly obviously works for the company. Boring and worthless, dont waste your money.

We are not sure why more people arent reviewing this neat little Indie game as it is one of the most creative games we have played in a long time. The graphics are interesting and the puzzles clever and not too hard. We would recommend having an extra device to take pictures of the clues rather than trying to draw them out on the sketch pad in the game. It has a good map to keep track of where you are going and we had to use it a lot. Folks with a good spatial memory probably wouldnt need it as much. If you like games like the Rusty Lake Series or the Amanita games check this one out! Oh and make sure you do the little photo album at the end. Have fun.

Without going into too much detail, we must admit how deeply moved we were in the end. Moved to tears even. We felt the love of family and the love a son has for his father. If we could give this 100 stars we would. The game itself, aside from the storyline, was obviously incredible as well.

Cotton, we swear to G0D if you dont make more games like this, we will punch a baby .. Dont make us punch a baby, Cotton.

If youre into indie games these are at the top of the list. These games are like the coolest movies you find and share with your friends, theres just nothing else like it. The games are full of amazing and obscure references, this one incorporates the accomplishments of scientists into the puzzles. What a cool way to honor science and invention. We would work for this team if we could. Really original. And like others said, this one has a good balance of difficulty. It was a little easier than Id thought at first, its more about continuing to open new areas because most of the time if youre stumped it means your clue is still behind a closed door. And there is a clue for every puzzle. We spent a day on that bookshelf and we didnt need to.

The game looks nice but its way too tedious and we dont have the patience to solve all the puzzles.

This game, which is beautifully drawn, is quite tedious. Every puzzle requires you to go to a different area of the house, sometimes two different areas, to solve it. The problem is the game does not have a jump to feature so you will spend most of your time traveling very slowly back-and-forth. It takes most of the fun away and makes it a tedious process.

Everything is incredible about this game, should cost more. The puzzles are challenging yet possible and you have a place to write down clues. The animations are very impressive for a game this price.

Great puzzle game with a unique story; very fun to play and explore. Puzzles are challenging, but not impossible to solve. Characters are freaky and mysterious, but also adorable. Sound effects add a nice spooky touch.

Is it possible to get a refund? We sadly have no idea what to do with this fun-looking app or how to get more than footstep and knocking sounds but the support page is in a language we dont know.

We loved the game. It reminded us of a complicated escape room.

When will the second one come back out.

We had fun, was able to solve each puzzle. Took us a couple hours.

Beautiful game; evokes emotion and has very fun puzzles that leaves you scratching your head. Worth every penny and isnt too expensive at all!! Incredible work and kudos to the team; thank you for creating this.

It is a fun game. Genre, its a puzzle game. Although some parts were a bit frustrating (hard), we did watch a few tutorials. We will say though the drawback being there were times we had to go back to the same areas multiple times. Its a long game and you will have to revisit the same areas in order to solve the puzzles. You might even miss some clues and realize wow it was right there all along. Going back and forth to one area to the next is kinda annoying. Theres no instant map teleportation. But we did enjoy the game. We played it during our free time. And the story line is good. Especially the endings. It was Worth the price. Would play it again. We already finished the game and am planing to replay it to pass the time, and unlock the other endings and achievements.

These guys rarely disappoint. This one is more in tune with the Isoland series. Game is layered, beautifully animated and long. Puzzles are not easy but nothing that cant be figured out with some thought.

TL;DR: Dont hesitate or let B&W fool u!! Much like return to our old favs ISO Mr Pumpkin puzzles. Free map, shows where u r, whats left to get to. Arrows to lead u w/icons of room to recall where things/creatures are. Book to read how things got way they did is ur guide along w/typical Cotton pay attn to things on walls, touch etc. Good ending is natural if u play these a lot, but no spoilers how. We havent seen bad ending. Will look at WT for that. Only ONE mathy puzzle stumped/frustrated us, n still not sure how we solved it. Sad its over, n in for another wait. Tho finished n uninstalled when no reviews, we thot Id leave one now, to give honest opinion, while keeping rating up. We liked this more than Elevator or Amusement Park and other recents. Tho in b&w the puzzles are great, only ONE seemed illogical n we finally looked it up. Plz dont hesitate to buy. If u enjoyed ISO and Mr Pumpkin, theres lots youll love, plus this one provides a free map to show where u are w/icons to rooms youll know and arrows, and Ds to where you havent been, so the extra walking around is much less painful, if at all. We had wanted to savor this one its THAT good n we put it aside a few weeks. We played before any walkthroughs were out and the puzzle that stumped us near end, did finally have a WT we sped thru to see answer n we still wasnt sure (its math type, n we hate those, lol). We got the good end 1st try and didnt realize there was any other n still havent seen the bad one (Ill look it up). No spoilers on how we did, but most ppl like us who play a lot of these will likely get the same outcome as we did, purely by instinct of using items with book u unlock pages to as u go along n feed the spider pills u find. We also got all achievements (except ones related to bad ending, n the shortest video game steps) pretty easy, but thats not to say u dont have to think ur way thru this.

Fun graphics, cute story. Good puzzles. Definitely worth the two dollars! Didnt need to look up any walk through either.

Need help with Dads Monster House. Seems there are some glitches. We are unable to cook the fish or dig up the treasure by the tree. Carlos shakes his head as if its not correct. Please fix.

A fun game from Cottonlots of running around, but logical puzzles in a hand-drawn, quirky yet sweet environment. Recommend.

We love this game. Its our favorite of all of the Cotton games so far. The black and white palette is so perfect, like in the film Young Frankenstein. The creatures are all so lovable and odd. Thank you Cotton Games! You are the best.

Another amazing game which took a lot of thought to complete. We love that his games are never easy and are super fun to play. Super.

Nice game but at times needed a walkthrough. Also, You may need paper/ pen to take notes for the puzzles. There's a bit of running around from different areas which is why it takes a bit to complete. Very similar to the style of Isoland games, which we love.
