We hope there will be a sequel because we absolutely loved every part of this game.
Everything about this games art and visual style is stunning. However the written dialogue in English is filled with errors, and confusing phrasing. Not only does the dialogue detract from an absolutely amazing game, but it makes it hard to follow what is being discussed or understand what the objective of certain puzzles are. For example, the game often mixes up pronouns like he and she with it. This makes it a challenge to know who or what a character is talking about. The devs need to find a native English speaker to review and edit all the writing.
Ughhhhh we love it its so cute and we love how its detailed. Unfortunately Im broke and a unemployed teenager so we cant tell yall much abt the game. We think we should start a petition to make the whole game free to play so we all can be happier. The music in it is so relaxing it helped our anxiety in class today unexpectedly. We hope to be able to get the whole game at some point. Thank u to the developers.
Such a beautiful game animation is incredible we highly recommend this game.
We thoroughly enjoy this game. We would like to have a hint button to help us figure out how to beat the spinning wheel. We did not pick the music box as our trophy, so now we need to beat the spinning wheel but it seems unbeatable. Any help is appreciated.
The quality is impeccable. The animation transitioning to the interactive mode in the cut scene was so smooth. We do wish that the game was more clear about the pay wall in the game description. We only found out after downloading.
Just finished the trial and purchased the rest of the game. Its been very entertaining so far. Our only issue is sometimes we cannot read the font of what the characters are saying since its the same color as whats in the background.
Overall its a good game and storyline but needs improvement. Most Cottongames we will replay after beating, but we wouldnt replay this game. Issues: 1) Game glitches forcing you to restart the app 2) Controls (walking and item management/combining items) need vast improvement 3) Some dialogue cant be skipped or sped-up by tapping while others can Nice to have: 1) Hints 2) Fast travel map 3) More info on optional achievements (we.e. Cards).
We downloaded this because we love cotton games. Howers this one seems to be buggy it keeps getting stuck and not responding when we try to back out of looking at stuff. Its really frustrating especially when we paid $8.
Cute game but it freezes CONSTANTLY. Its super frustrating.

Graphic, story, everything is perfect about this game. We usually delete games after we finish them, but we're keeping this one so we can play again after a while. We strongly recommend you try this one.
Plot and art are done beautifully and it is in fact quite seamlessly done. Except that the English version feels convoluted. We understand others concerns as hints are hard to distinguish when the is not there. Living in China as long as we have we can understand whats trying to be said. But we can see other native English speakers missing many hints and clues within the dialogue if theyre inexperienced with the Chinese language. We would love to help take part in this or other projects. Im not a but we do understand the message well and what is trying to be conveyed. Anyway great game.
Well we cant play the rest of the game now we may have to buy the full game.
This is a great game. The graphics are so sweet and the Dog filled world concept really works. We took a bit to get used to the unusual translations, and there are some glitches where the profile image & the speaker are not right, but it does not ruin the game.
So nice is so funny we spend a long time with our dad doing this, and this is the new favorite game of our dad and our! We learn a lot of English our dad love it, we have eight years old and live in Brazil but we like English and we love the graphics and the symbols remember our dad.
Great game! The puzzles are challenging.
Most of the dialogues in English are incorrect and dont make any sense. Also at some part of the game there were complete broken dialogues (not in sync).
We loved this game and the fact that its not more popular shocked us. The art is just so beautiful and the storylines were very heartwarming, we just loved it a lot. Personally we didnt have any issues with gameplay everything was very smooth and intuitive.
The scenery alone is enough to purchase this app. The way the sunset shifts the lighting in this enigmatic 1920s coastal European town, lost in another time, is breathtaking. Ive truly never been more impressed by the art style of a game. Totally worth your money.
But.freezes at level end of catch the thief.
The English version could use some grammar correction, the info text sometimes runs off the screen and the memories either wont trigger or play in the wrong order.
We love Cotton games. This one has beautifully drawn artwork and animation. The premise is good. But as many others have pointed out, the controls and dialogue can be frustrating. Moving around is challenge as most hit regions arent obvious and tapping often doesnt move the character where you expected. At this point no one needs to reinvent the point-and-click interface, it was perfected years ago. Just stick to the norms, please. The dialogue is where this game falters the most. There is a lot of it and its inconsistently handled. Often its rendered letter by letter and sometimes you can advance it with a tap but more often tapping does nothing and have you have wait for it to fully render. Tap and wait a lot more. Then there are times when the text appears all at once but it progresses without tappingand faster than you can read. Especially when you are reading text thats very clearly not written by a native English speaker. Even with the recent English polishing we dont feel comfortable reading the text. Sorry to be blunt about it but, coupled with the controls, the dialogue handling makes this game tedious to play. We still recommend it as long as you are okay with the above-mentioned caveats.
We cant beat the part where you have to tell Michel the time when your in the car with him, itll be easier if you make the game slightly less hard.
So this game is super cute and fun but there is a glitch Im dealing with that is preventing us from having the proper dialogue with a character and now we cant finish the game Im sure its fine for others though.
This is a great calming game but once we got in the fruit shop owners car they made us pay but we didnt so yeah this a great game but it cost money to do trial 2.
Dont get this app, at least if you want to pay 8.99 dollar, we thought the app was free to be played, but we were wrong, the gameplay is really good, the art style and the gameplay is really fun, but Im not gonna pay 8 dollars no continue playing.
Thiss way better quality than what we were expecting for a phone game.
The art style is so pretty and unique, which is what drew us to the game in the first place. However, the gameplay itself is very confusing and the words don't fit on the screen. We guess it makes sense if this was originally a Chinese game which doesn't require as many words like it does in English. This game just needs to have a separate English team.
English dialogue is unbelievably just bad, throughout the game, even AFTER the latest update that says typos have been corrected. Sometimes its simply difficult to read, because spaces are missing after punctuation, or there are lots of typos. Other time the wording is a little off or confusing, such as a character who is looking for a woman that he refers to sometimes as his mom, and other times as his wife. Surely she isnt both! But oh, at other times, the English is incomprehensible to the point of making it very difficult to figure out what the game wants you to do next. And worst of all, on multiple occasions the English is outright offensive, making this game NOT AT ALL SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN as it claims. We agree with other reviewers that the UI controls could be better, and the game does at times glitch or freeze, and not all character dialogue can be skipped which is annoying. But before tackling any of that, please, please, dear game developers: have a native English speaker clean up the mess of translations in this otherwise sweet and cozy game! We wanted to love Sunset Hills so much. And Im pretty intuitive – we even played Neko Atsume when it was only available in Japanese. Ive also played other games with problems, but never bothered to review a game till now, because the English is just THAT BAD and incredibly detrimental to playing the game.
