We knew there was something fishy and we contacted the developers and told him that our game just randomly stops in the middle and we can’t even get any good enjoyment out of it and they told us know that we were crazy. We can’t play this game and we love this game what we think should happen is we should get our money back or they need updated. We’re very angry.
Big Darius fan since the 90s, but this game keeps crashing on level 2. We have to reopen game, and gets restarted to title screen.
We used to play Darius in the arcade a very long time ago and after much practice our friend and we finally beat the big bad guy. This rendition of the game is very fun to play and plays well on our iPad. They were thoughtful about the controls and different gameplay issues and put it all together to create a great arcade game for the iPad that definitely reminds us of the original. Thanks for a terrific job on this game!
Darius is great! We never played much Darius before but now that we have, we can say Im a fan, awesome shooter well worth it.

Awesome game in nice Port. We played this game on PSP long years ago. But a few things need to update. Screen Rotate and MFI or Blutooth controller support.
Awesome game!!! The SP soundtrack is fantastic!! The game needs MFI iOS Controller support! It also needs a screen orientation feature so it auto adjusts to how you hold your idevice. We want to give 5 stars here but these 2 features missing, hold it back.
Wonderful game with great music, but it locks up pretty badly sometimes. You have to force close the app and restart the game. Playing on iPhone X, iOS 11.4.
Its true. It does crash! Someone there to fix this? Thats all it needs. A classic game. Fix it and make it free to get more people to come to this classic. Whatever it takes just make it to not crash. Please! Please guys.

IPhone 7, cant finish a run before the app dies.
Unplayable on newer devices. If youre rocking an iPad thats a few years out of date and no longer gets updates you might have better luck.
We dont usually pay for iphone apps and this is why. The game crashes after 1, 2, 3 or however many levels into it….. The game decides when it wants to shoot back to our home screen restarting the game each time. Please fix. Super disapointed, as Darius is one of our all-time fave shootem-ups and we actually used that fact to try and take a shot at purchasing an app (which again we dont do) just to have one of our favorite franchises affirm our fears. Lame.
This has NO MFI controller option at all. Ex. Nimbus, PS4,etc Or any Bluetooth use Do not buy we bought for Apple TV then, we had to pay another $10 just to have on phone? Didnt show in our App Store purchases. Warning: Stay away! No contact with developer also.

We love this game, we played it in our console when we were a child. Please, your app needs a iOS 8 version, we play it in an iPhone 6 and the screen isn’t accord with device resolution. Please!!!!
We loved games by Taito 15 years ago and we still love them today! Great on an iPhone.
Best horizontal shooter in the appstore along with cave’s deathsmiles. Hope they’ll add even more challenges in the future or some other forms of time attack/boss-rush modes, because it’s one of the best games for ios.
We will give it 5 stars but could you please allow the phone to rotate and not have the game fixed in the same orientation every time? Some of us are left handed and would benefit greatly from being able to switch the home button left or right. One more request please make this game compatible with iPhone 5 and larger screen. Please!!!!
This is a terrific example of the genre. The whole experience is well composed, including gameplay, visual design, and the excellent music typical of Darius games. It does need to be updated to the iPhone 6+ resolution though. On screen buttons are missing. You can still play through the game, but without burst shots or a pause button.
Love this game but definitely needs full screen resolution support for modern phones. Lack of full screen support for iPhone 6 makes a black border around the game. Wouldn’t be so bad but if you touch the black area the game doesn’t pickup your movement. Also you can’t change the orientation by flipping the phone. Speaker side is stuck on your left hand :( Easily a 5 star game if Taito fixes these problems. Please add iPhone 6 support! Thanks.
Overall it’s a good game esp. If you’re a Darius series fan, it could stand to be optimized for 5G devices but it plays well on our 4G Touch except for crashing when we beat the game. At least on our 5G Touch there’s no more crashing. Controls take a little getting used to since there’s no pad/stick, only by moving your finger. Also a little pricey but we think it’s worth it, but wait and try to catch a sale before downloading it.
We wanted, badly, to be able to write a good review for this game since we spent $12 on it. Graphically it is stunning…… Gameplay can be lame at times. When the bosses show up they are too big. It feels very clostraphobic. It is never very clear when your ship’s damage will end up killing you. Bought Danmaku Unlimited 2 for $2 on sale. While we’ll give graphics to Dariusburst replability goes to Danmaku Unlimited 2. The music is silly. As great as the boss ships look, the other ships are really weak. Like the previous reviewer said we would be completely satisfied if we had paid maybe $4, but at $12 we overpaid.

We remember playing this game all the time as a kid and we remember that it lasted a lot longer :/ game is short and at least the beginning is not challenging at all … Not sure if its supposed to be or not . Not worth the 12 dollars maybe 5-6 but definitely not 12 .
While the game is visually and functionally very similar to the PSP counterpart, the lack of optimization is obnoxious. Even on sale, the game is pretty expensive, and charging 11 dollars for game without proper support seems typical of Taito niche mobile offerings.
Come on! For being such an expensive game it should be optimized for iphone 5. It’s basically unplayable as it is. We will change our review when this is fixed, because otherwise it seems like a fine schmup.
However for how expensive it is the developers really don’t care about it. Update for iPhone 5 already ! For the price your charging you should be on that quickly, and let us change our screen orientation ! 1 star until this is updated.
We cannot stand the music like some horrid Chinese music, the backgrounds and enemies are dull, the capture ball system is gone, and levels are so nerfed even on normal or hard. If you want the real Darius experience seek out G-Darius we would rather they ported that than this anyday.
Great controls, nice smooth graphics, almost as great as G Darius!
Taito produced many of our very favourite arcade moments when we were a kid and DariusBurst has just become of our very favourite iOS titles. Amazing visuals, fantastic soundtrack and incredibly responsive controls. Cave have the best vertical shooters out there, this is THE side scrolling King. Buy it now.
Only issue, screen rotation is locked and that can be annoying at times.
This is about the best side scrolling franchise shooter on the App Store we have played. Having been (and still a player of) Darius Twin on the SNES, this is an outstanding follow up in the series. The bosses are all awesome, the levels are well balanced in difficulty, the level selection and path choices are great. Everything is very well done and well worth the price. The graphics are very smooth and high quality, though not the most technically marveling on iOS. Our only minor issues come in the form of compatibility. We understand this was ported from a PSP title, so some things are inherently going to be different on an iPad. However, the lack of rotation support really ends up making it uncomfortable to play on an iPod (headphone port is blocked), or an iPad (the smart cover ends up hanging and waving around and you block the speaker with your hand). If the rotation issue can be corrected, and an iPad 3 retina update with some sharper texture perhaps, it would be a crying shame if this didn’t make its way onto the front page of the app store.
We’re not super familiar with the older Darius games, but we’ve played a bunch of other shooters. Dariusburst reminds us a lot of R-type and other side-scrolling shooters in that the screen never feels cluttered with bullets and it feels like each level throws fun new mechanics at you that you have to figure out. After 2-3 games to figure out the bosses’ patterns it should be possible to clear easy mode without using a continue, which is a lot of fun and a good introduction to the different burst mechanics. Switch the game to hard mode, though, and the challenge level goes right up. The game never feels unbeatable though. The art is also gorgeous. All of the bosses look amazing and the level backgrounds are well-designed. Zuntata as usual provides a soundtrack that’s a cut above the norm (though we prefer their RayStorm music). We’re really glad Taito is making games for iOS now; this game is an asset to the platform.
If you enjoyed the previous two games in the series (Darius Gaiden and G Darius), BUY THIS NOW. If you enjoy shumups on iOS, BUY THIS NOW. As usual, Zuntata (the in house band that does music for Taito) has put out another superb soundtrack that retains the eerie feel the series is known for. Taito knows how to do touch screen controls for a shumup. Unlike the bare-bones port of Rayforce, this game packs more than enough content to justify it’s relatively high price. If you like this game, we strongly recommend picking up the Taito legends compilation for Darius Gaiden, Rayforce and G Darius.

We were skeptical about this game at first- the price seemed too ridiculous. But then we realized that this is a port from PSP and has slight arrange to it. Boy, we made a good decision. This game is well worth the money. Unlike other game, Darius is one special shooting game that gives you options to decide your path. There are several endings to it, and each time you beat the game you’ll recieve some rewards- like gallery, ending cinema, and 3d model viewer. The game play is smooth with minimal lag. Beautiful 3D graphic, definitly one of the best graphic for shooting game in iOS. (and we are not talking about FPS, that’s different) Massive boss fight. Control is straight forward. You’ll choose from 2 ships first (additional unlockable 2 ships, total of 4 ships to choose) and then off you go. You can change difficulty and number of continue, life stock at the option menu. Easy difficulty will give you full satisfaction. One you get used to the game then increase the difficulty. Darius series were never easy. Only concern was that there was no option to rotate the screen, which is not an issue at all to play the game. This game is excellent. We don’t feel like "app" at all. After all, this is not a arcade port, but PSP port. Though the sensation of button mashing action is missing due to the Touch control, the quality of the game remains the same. We have no concern with the price, compare to purchase the imported PSP version for sake of language options. Like we said, this is exactly the same one with PSP, just much cheaper and affordable. Unless you hate Shmup game, we recommend this to anyone.
After three hundred app purchases IDE have to rate this Game in our top five. Its really a great game but it’s a bit short. Any way the replay value is there! It is pricey but it’s worth it. If you like space shooters take a chance and pick this up. We’ve been looking for we side scrolling shooter and this packs a punch. Graphics are sweet!
One of the best games for iOS. We’re a huge fan of the original arcade game, and this port is flawless. Love the soundtrack by Tsuchiya Shohei. The eerie effected vocals really set the mood for what is a spectacular sci-fi shoot-em-up.
This has become one of our more favorite shmups on the iPhone. Glad we got it on sale as we thought the price was a little much at first.
Looks great, lots of variety in levels and enemies, wonderful bosses and music. Highly recommended. EXTREMELY minor problem we think different international app stores use a different name -SP- with hyphens. The names should be the same so all show up together on Game Center.
