We rate it 5 stars and give it an A+ for the Auburn University references.

We’re really enjoying this game. It makes you think. We love the interaction HO’s. The reason we gave 4 stars is because we had to select objects several times before we could get a hold of an object, but don’t let that deter you from enjoying this entertaining gem.

Some of the puzzles seem to hard or tedious. Otherwise holds one’s attention.

This could have been a good game, but had WAY too many glitches. We played the free trial but did not buy.

This installment introduces a harrowing plot as you visit a hotel that is putting on a show conducted by a mysterious blade master. You are chosen by this menacing masked man to volunteer on stage, and then you find yourself dodging knives that are flying everywhere from all angles. The plot does not foster any novel ideas, and we’ve become disenchanted with finding out the identity of this villain. Gameplay is unremarkable; playing with the few added gadgets has become a monotonous chore. The graphics are second-rate as they are fuzzy and muted in presentation; an overhaul is needed to enhance the preciseness of details. The color scheme is visually shadowy and murky to create an ill-boding ambiance. The stormy, dreary background noises of the rain splattering on the ground and the echoes of booming cracks of thunder appropriately illustrate an inauspicious climate. You have the ability to customize your settings. The inventory is labeled and interactive; items require assembly. One irksome issue regarding inventory usage is that if the incorrect item is chosen, the item sluggishly drops back down to the bar; and this results in wasted time and discontentment. Upon access, the teleport map stands idle for a brief moment before transporting us to labeled locations. Transition between scenes lapses by a few seconds; locations are labeled as you manually travel. Your all-in-one journal conveniently confines some of the features to a singular place, such as your memories, which are comprised of snippets of acquired reading materials, as well as your map and the collectibles. The HOS are very interactive and puzzle-like, and they consist of an assortment of various fashions; they suit the storyline rather well. The puzzles are entertaining and diverse; and many will complement the storyline, such as when you rotate and assemble pieces of a mask in order to free the lady who is pinned by daggers to the circular board. The collectibles are highly inconspicuous in placement; you get to do something with them at the end. Unfortunately, this game does have imperfections in addition to the ones described above. Once again, consistent technical flaws are impeding satisfaction and causing frustration. Firstly, inventory interaction is awry since a response to our touch input is not immediately effectuated; at times, we find that the placing of items within the scene borderlines on tedium. Furthermore, it became taxing to move and rotate pieces in one of the puzzles. Notwithstanding the aforementioned flaws, we did enjoy the HOS and the puzzles; and the desired main components, such as custom settings, are present. Therefore, our true rating of 2.5 stars is bumped up to a final rating of 3 stars.

Izzy said it well. Storyline is limp and anemic, objects are difficult to use and retrieve from the inventory, game is short, bonus game won’t let you add the map of the woods so you don’t get to finish. We’re very disappointed! Verdict: pass unless you have nothing better to do like clean the cat box or laundry.

Found the beginning of the game interesting & had high hopes. However, characters seemed to have gotten lost and the storyline took a bizarre turn. Storyline did not have a nice flow to it. Teleporting map provided, hidden object scenes were unique at times. Puzzles, we thought were too easy. Would have like to have seen more interaction with the characters. Not thrilling, but not terrible. Still am hoping Big Fish will give us more than 2 games a week – as this is just not enough. We don’t like having to keep from playing a game in order to have something daily to play. We dream team players need to continue to make our request heard. Big Fish will make more money and we will be happier gamers. New releases used to be daily. As far as daily deals go, we regular gamers have already played these games, so this is nothing extra. Let’s make our voices heard and hopefully we will see some extra new releases. P.S. – we are not sorry for this purchase, just had No WOW factor. KdBoots ( big thanks to Lynx Minx for bringing this lack of games issue up!)

Average game but the skip button in custom mode does not work. This causes the player to go to the menu and change difficulty mode each time to do puzzles. Poorly tested and not very good anyway. Save your money.

Trying game on a trial and probably won’t purchase it. Graphics are not the best on our iPad. A lot of flickering and freezing. When trying to pick an object, sometimes you only have to be close or tap it a few times. Would appreciate labels or some way to identify what’s in your inventory. Hard to know. Well back to the trial to see if it gets better.

Hi, Izzyoc! We have nothing else to do but we have a feeling our review will echo yours. We think BigFish had better get their act together. We wanted to know what you think we can do about getting more than 2 games a week in this genre from BigFish. Seriously! Especially since usually only one game might be worth playing. At least we got trials back. For now! It’s sad really that Daily Magic could have made this into a 5 star game, but they absolutely missed the mark. We agree with Catalina, Izzyoc and KimTwilight. There were some good points. You could customize settings, the graphics were beautiful in a bizarre way, the storyline was a bit different. You had a gimmick, which was the dagger box. Inventory was labeled and interactive and there were complex items to assemble. There was a marked teleport map to use, inconveniently located in your journal. The HO scenes were mostly use one object to unlock another one. We didn’t get RATS but poor Dracyy got spiders and hornets! Unfortunately some of the most important details we want in a game were sorely lacking. This was not a long game, but it was made to seem longer because of the lag using the diary/map. Loading was not instantaneous between locations and there was an annoying lag to open the diary in order to access the map. In addition, the inventory was of the "leaping" type, which drives us almost to insanity, and we do not want a crazy Lynx! Games are so advanced at this point that loading should always be instantaneous between location, the transport map should function perfectly and the inventory should remain in its place until you actually need to use it. Another feature that we were not happy with was the puzzles/mini-games. They were unoriginal and there were many puzzles of the boring rotational sort, and they have been done to death! We could care less about morphing objects, which were puzzle pieces that were very difficult to manipulate at the end. In addition you could tell that English was not the primary language spoken by the developer, and that is obnoxious to us. Daily Magic needs to update their games to have instantaneous loading and a normal inventory bar. Their games seem dated when in reality they are not. Big Fish, you can do a lot better than this! Hopefully the next game will be a good one. Lynxie sends to the amazing DTE! Your reviews regarding this game were "en pointe"! Our final rating is 3 stars; average rating for an average game.

We love almost all Big Fish games but this one needed a little more tweaking before release. The hint button and skip buttons do not work correctly for one. We have had to delete and install again but still won’t work.

Game was meh, hidden object puzzles were fun but the side games could get tricky. Object drag and drop was hard too since sometimes it wouldnt work when you put the object on top of another, had to place it to the side for it to work. Really liked the skyward and the other phantom of the opera games that big fish removed. Would rather have those updated and released again.

It a good game but its to slow and it freezes all of a sudden.

The game was fun, except for a few glitches with some of the mini games. We were determined to see it through, though, until the game froze. We’re at the point where we’re outside the church. The leaves still blow by and the sound continues, but nothing happens. We contacted Big Fish support, and we tried everything (closing open apps, playing in airplane mode, restarting the iPad, etc.). Heck, we even deleted the game and started from the beginning. Frozen again in the exact same location. The BFG support rep said we could either weigh & see if the developer released a fix, or ask Apple for a refund, with Big Fish’s blessings. We’re leaving this review in hopes that the developer might see it and investigate the problem. We’ve seen two other people with similar issues post in the forum. Pretty please fix the game!

Skip button did not work. Rebooted game then SKIP button worked. Game does not run smooth. Bad graphics.

We wrote & posted this 1/23/17 but have no idea why it’s not showing up! No rats!!! No fun, no achievement, no journal, no logic, no character building, no sense in purchasing this one. We wasted our money, you shouldn’t. We have been away for the past couple of years & now playing catch up. We ALWAYS read Lynx Minx, Darcy, Izzyoc, and Kim Twilight’s review first. Should have waited on this on, as we know y’all will advise us to pass on this piece of garbage. We have missed the Dream Team and look forward to reading from them before we purchase any more games! Sure miss some of the old DTers… Hossryder, Snooper to name a couple. Luck and happy wishes to all! -Jo.

We’re 3/4 through and there is a puzzle piece that is made missing (note it’s not that we couldn’t find it, once we gathered the pieces it split into a jigsaw and one piece is gone). Can’t move on with this piece; have tried all tips and nothing helps. Not worth reloading and starting over, as others have mentioned the story is blah and some take several tries to use.

This game was going well at the start, but one object handoff simply wont work, and we cant progress. We dont like paying for five minutes of play. Dead in the water.

As soon as we purchased this game, we lost the code from the inventory. We’re not going to re-boot, re-start or re-load, or anything else. We’re tired of dealing with these lousy, sub-par, glitchy, sluggish games. Good-bye, Big Fish.

Yet another game that can’t be finished bc of glitches. We spend too much money on these games to not be able to finish them. We would rather wait on the games to come out then waste our money so they can come out quicker. This happens entirely too often. We’ve played a lot of these games, and every game has a glitch in it. Unfortunately, too many of them can’t be completed bc of these "glitches". Then trying to get your money back is almost impossible. Take ur time developing them. Have someone play them before you put them out to the public. Fix the glitches before you make people pay for them. The map to the woods in the bonus game doesn’t work. Not to mention, many other glitches that made playing this game annoying like so many others. We used the hint because that fixes the problem in a lot of games, but didn’t work in this one. We got out of the game. Still no good. Nobody wants to delete the app and replay the game. Especially, when your at the end.

Was very disappointed in this game. Would not let us finish bonus game. Ended up deleting it.

The developers wanted to be clever with this one, adding on things that need to be turned, or moved. The problem is that they didn’t do a good job of allowing the player to pick up and turn or move the objects. We gave up trying to move the key parts, though we’ve done that type of puzzle many times before. We would try to chose a piece to move, but it won’t move, but another part might move that we hadn’t chosen! Wow! Putting the puzzle pieces into a frame was okay IF you could tap the piece and move it to the arrows. The same problem happened with the pieces to another puzzle. We found the missing pieces, brought them to the puzzle and tried to get them to turn. When we got them to the arrows, they’d jump back to where they had been. It took several minutes to get just one piece in place! The "find the knives" puzzle was pretty lame, too. Lots of moving around for no apparent reason. Could be a good game, we think, but it isn’t. Back to the drawing board, guys. You’ve got lots of work to do! And, we’re glad to see BF bring back the trial games! We bet they were losing lots of sales! We know we wouldn’t buy without trying first. We wonder if they fired the genius who came up with that idea! Now, let’s get back to producing quality games. We don’t need the "clever" twists to the puzzles. We just want a game that’s fun and glitch free!

Slow responses. Hint doesn’t work. Story and characters are corny. Will not be purchasing it.

We guess we didn’t read the reviews before we purchased. Hopefully, you are reading them carefully. Worst thing was that the game would not move past the part where it unlocked despite deleting and adding it several times. Therefore, it was just robbery and a waste of money. The hint button is much slower than other games but it had some cool mini games and good things going for it until it quit.

Me1936 Dull and gory sorry we bought it.
