We love this series of games. We play them over and over again. Great music, great characters and engaging plot. We have bought them all.
We had a LOT of firsts;here this time. First time we lost ourselves completely in a game first time we didnt resent paying six plus dollars for an eight year old game first time we couldnt find a glitch to complain aboutfirst time EVER Im not deleting off iPad as we have every intention of playing again. We will end this by saying directly to anyone reading this that your hunt is over. Dont pay much mind to the 8yr old negative reviews because someone must have went in an overhauled and fixed any and all issues. This game is very long very good. Good story good graphics a mix of puzzles some easy some not. The art work and graphics and score and storyline we thunk that absolutely EVERYONE did their job well on this game. Again we just finished this aril 4th and we promise that even if your a veteran of these types of games you will not be disappointed. Thanks for the hard work and effort you put into this one guys. Well done.
Loved the graphics, the Hidden objects and other mini games. Some we havent seen before. We admit we had to use the hint button quite a bit, but we still loved playing it.
Older game and takes a bit to figure out and adjust to map location – but the map works. After that found the game beautiful and a delight to play. Different from the same ole same ole routine. Even gives a chance at end to find hidden flames that may have missed. Was a real bargain at the on sale price. Is the second Dark Realm game we've played and now we're hoping to find more of this series.
Ive been playing games to pass time during the pandemic distancing. Mad Head games have turned out to be some of our favorites. No glitches and fun, not tedious, mini games. Unique HOPs, most with a morphing objects, our favorite part. We cant be bothered with collecting fire signs but thats just us. Some are well hidden. We hope the developers are busy at work with new ones.

Fantastic job to developers! We couldn't put it down! Everything about it was incredible! The graphics, the artwork, the characters, the music! This game grabbed our attention from the very beginning to the end credits, which were also very entertaining to watch. We love the drawings of the faces of the people who made this wonderful game. That was excellent! We loved that! At the end of the game, the extras menu makes it all the less disappointing that the game is over. We love that you can go back and find any flames you might have missed, (we thought we got them all but missed a few, very well placed)! The hops are available to play and the card game with the funny little man you have to beat for a ride in his balloon. Its all just great! We also enjoyed very much watching the making of Queen of Flames. Hats off for the hours and hard work and dedication that you all put in to this. Thank You Very Much.
We love the entire Dark Realm series because the developers have really made an effort to create an immersive world. We appreciate their creativity and attention to small details, such as characters breaking the 4th wall and manipulating parts of our screen or the game controls; we also love it when we attempt to use an object in a scene and can watch our attempt play out and fail (instead of nothing happening at all). These details are above and beyond what Ive seen in other hidden-object games and show the thoughtfulness of the developers. Whats more, we feel invested in the characters due to the continuity throughout the series (and great voice actors). Yes, we occasionally skip puzzles, but theyre supposed to be challengingthats the pointand Im grateful for custom settings so we can choose to skip or not as we like. If you want an experience thats more than the usual click-click-clicking, we highly recommend the Dark Realm series.
After figuring out the differences from other hidden puzzle games this game ended up being a joy to play.

We've been playing these games for years and this one is by far the very best. Puzzles are inventive and Hidden Object scenes are delightfully different. The story unfolded well and kept us captivated the entire time. Bravo on a great game.
MadHead, you've done it again! We can tell you that when it comes to putting out a fabulous game, nobody can compete, except for EIPIX! This game was incredible! The graphics were gorgeous and the cut-scenes were extremely magical and intense! It was lengthy with a bonus adventure, and loading was instantaneous between locations. You collect flames, some of which are very tricky to find. The only time you look for morphing objects is during the HO scenes, which were varied and fun to play. There were plus objects to assemble, which we love. Inventory was labeled, there was a teleport map with marked tasks, and there was a journal. You had boots of invisibility and a magical amulet which gives you different powers as you progress through the game. There were many puzzles and games to play, all of which we enjoyed. You get to build things, make magical potions and save Northpearl from the evil queen. There were lots of extras, including a card game, hidden object search, magnificent wallpapers, etc. We did not experience the glitches that some people did. Make sure to close running apps, and reboot your tablet before playing. Also make sure your iOS is up-to-date! There were a few rodents in the game, but small and nothing we could not handle. Do us a favor and leave those out of your sequel! Also, it would help to have a map tab and a journal tab instead of going to the menu. We loved this game totally! For players who felt they did not know what to do, all MadHead games have the same type of game play, which is very interactive. You are probably newer gamers so we suggest at first to make use of the strategy guide. Eventually you just learn how to play, and when to do which task. It's not an overnight process, but once you have a few games under your belt you start to crave more and more! We promise you that, after playing a few hundred games, even we have to think hard about what to do next. Dream Team, please keep up with full reviews! We haven't heard from Bunkie lately. Hands down our favorite game developer ever! So far every game has been worthy of 5 stars! Storyline, graphics, voice overs, HOP and mini games are all top notch. Toss in extra items to find throughout the game, morphing objects, an integrated map that can be used for fast travel, a good hint system, skip option for mini games, and a players guide and their games have everything we look for in a HOAG! Also we have a first generation iPad Air and had no technical issues at all!!! Please Big Fish and Mad Head keep games like this coming.
What an excellent game with amazing graphics and a wonderful story line. We love that you can choose the option for the difficulty in customize it and there are so many different activities you can do even after the game is won! Love it! Can't wait for the next one.

This is one of the best games we have played! You will definitely get your money's worth. The graphics are amazing, the games are different and very interesting, the story is good and it deserves 5 stars. The only criticism we have is the map is not helpful and neither is the journal but the hint button and occasional peek at the guide makes it fairly easy to proceed. We really enjoyed this game.
This game was worth the $6.99! We loved the variety of puzzles, only a couple HOs which we liked. Great game! Bonus game was ok.

So far we are really loving this game. Like the variation in the puzzles. Inventory items are clearly labeled and you can expand the HOS. Story line is interesting and voice overs are great. We are glad we purchased it.
This is a new Fantasy-Adventure series from Mad Head Games the creators of Rite of Passage and Nevertales series so if you liked them you will Love this one. The story is fantastic graphics amazing great voice overs so much to see and do. Good transporting map inventory is labeled has great interactive/multiple part HOS with morphing objects in them, puzzles are challenging but not impossible this is long playing game and you are collecting Flames in each scene some are well hidden well worth the price have not had any problems/glitches Give this one a try you will not be sorry Thank you BF and Mad Head Games for a Amazing Game.

We just love this interactive games and this one hasn't disappointed us.
We are actually still playing this game and we love it enough to stop and write a review. The graphics are amazing, the story line is engaging and we love all of the different puzzles and things you have to do. This is not a simple HO game, although there are still plenty of HO scenes…a lot of thought and ingenuity went into creating unique puzzles and ways of interacting with the game. We are LOVING this game. We have the iPad version and had no trouble at all with the balancing portion of the game like another reviewer did.
The card game could be played again after finishing the main games – liked this. Don't enjoy the interactive movement of the iPad. Great story line and hidden object variety.

This is a Mad Head game and they did their usual fabulous job! Voice, interactive map, labeled inventory, morphing objects in HO scenes, collect flame symbols in each scene but look carefully they are well hidden. Artwork is gorgeous, gameplay smooth, well worth the money.
…that bonus level was so short. Right when the bonus story starts going somewhere, it ends…and ends abruptly. As for the main game, it was good. Puzzles were pretty good, HOPs were interesting. Its a little mechanically clunky at the beginning, but it gets better. You get used to how it works. We liked it. It had some new takes on things.

We really enjoy these games but the price is a bit to high for the time amount of playing.
This game is good. It's different with more emphasis on the story than puzzles so it is not as predictable as other games when it comes to the order of the puzzles. Also there is a nice variety of puzzles, but not enough HOPs in our opinion. We played it on iPad Mini. Tapping the screen to pick up or move items is sometimes impossible. It gets frustrating at times.
We liked the imagination of this game. Some challenging puzzles…some a bit too easy. The only thing that we didn't like was that many times finding the exact spot to click was tricky.
We like the story line, and the drawings are fantastic. We found in the iPad version the balancing act and the grabbing fruit in the basket do not work. It would be nice if you could get further in the game before you are asked to rate it. All games start asking after you finish the second or third task. You don't know yet if you like it yet.
This could be a five star, but there are small bugs in places and then a huge stopper in the bonus chapter. We're totally stuck with a modal window open and no way to close it or bypass. Game is frozen there; we can't finish the bonus play. And so far it looks like the only suggested way to "fix" it is to delete the game and reinstall. That would of course delete all progress. NOT something we want to do. Until then, we were enjoying the game quite a bit.

Good game with some glitches one must work around. Over all enjoyed playing. The biggest glitch for us was the Guide. It dumped you clear out of the game every time you use it. The game remembers where you are in the game, but having to re-enter the game is frustrating and time consuming.
There was one challenge that seemed a little glitchy. When balancing on the beam over the fire, we were to use our iPad keep the bead in the center of the pole to continue on. Whether we tilted our iPad a little or a lot the bead would always slip out of the balance range. Luckily we had the option to skip that challenge and Could still play. If not we probably would have given up and deleted the app.
We enjoyed several aspects of this game. The visuals are stunning and the music ominously engaging. The storyline is interesting and revealed in clever ways. Some of the HOP are very difficult to see but many are done in a unique manner. The map is good and useful. What we loved most was probably the end credits, which showed entertaining charictures of each person on the team. Nice touch! We feel that we got our $$$$ worth with this one.
Overall worth the money, but the arcade type games are awkward on our iPad Air. Also the maps works well but is not placed for easy access.
This game is different, we like it.
We started out finding this game confusing and am almost finished and still find it so. Beautiful graphics and a lot of care and work went into it, but ultimately we think that is the problem ….over kill. If you like long challenging games even on the easiest level then this is the game for you. Another poster said that a couple of parts don't work on iPad and it is true…just skip over them. Good try but we are a tad sorry we bought it, and we are a game veteran. We won't be doing the bonus this time.
Yes the graphics and animations are gorgeous but there are arcade elements to this game. For instance you have to move your tablet back and forth to keep from falling off a beam. We also found some of the game, in the trial period, to be confusing and ambiguous. We are playing on an Ipad Air and we're a Senior Citizen. We prefer puzzle HO games that challenges the mind, not the reflexes. Sorry, not our cup of tea.
We've purchased the game successfully (months ago), but after the sale goes through via the App Store, the game won't load. We are using an iPad (2021).
