Community Insight:
We bought this game since v1. Major updates since that fixes a TON of original problems! Way better resolution!! Controls feel fine tuned! Keep up the improvement.
We had avoided this game initially because there were reports that the quality of the graphics and animation were low. This is no longer the case. We just played the tutorial and Im really excited about what the rest of this game holds.
Reviewing single-player: Mechanics: Fine. Falls squarely in the center of lite boardgame geekery genre. If you enjoy that genre you'll probably enjoy at least one playthrough, mechanics-wise. (caveat: see UI notes – you're going to have to guess-and-check some of the mechanics) Visuals: Wonderful. The style is game & minuature literal, with a touch of special effects and animation. We think it's well done. The 3D view of minatures and game board feels good. And going light on the animations, but doing them well shows good visual direction IMO. (And the non-3D effects, like lightning or warlock's mark — interface nicely) UI: Rough. Workable, but very rough. Holding for 3 second to skip a turn. Looking away when you've got a card in hand and then it instantly casting as a result. Turning your hand to show cards sometimes just glitching and not working. Picking cards from a full hand sometimes being quite difficult. Making it difficult to get info on your own character (e.g. Their health) when it's your turn [secret: you can physically touch the minature for this]. And no in-game way of looking up things like blast radius or "what does overcharge do". —- There are also some stylistic choices like the (IMO) interminably long wait for every die roll to finish that some may like and that may make more sense in a multi-player environment where the game becomes a background for socialization rather than a focus itself. Multiplayer: Unkown. We didn't try this in multiplayer. If it works well it may be a place that it shines. As the many boardgames are meant to be a backdrop for socialization. But we haven't tried it and so can't review.
Hello, When playing Demeo, Ive noticed that Korean text (and possibly other non-Latin languages) appears broken or displays as unreadable symbols in the game. It seems like the font used does not support Korean characters properly. Could you please check if theres a fix or update planned to support Korean (and other languages) without font issues? Thank you for your help.
Totally playable, hand tracking is great! A showpiece for what AR can do.
This game used to be good till the brats ruined it.
DEMEO has always been one of our favorite XR games. When it launched on Vision Pro we were disappointed because it didnt offer a real MR mode. But after updating all the shaders to reality kit and the use of the foveated rendering, is now the best version available on standalone headsets. We hope that the will include the Heroes Hangout mode soon. Although we get that there are almost no gamers on Vision Pro yet. Great job Resolution Games.
New update improves input, but still doesnt support Apple Pencil. Come on guys, how hard can it be? Even basic apps support it. This game is fun, we played it on Quest, loved it, and would love it even more on iOS if we could play without have to have our hand cover up the screen while we played.
Update: The latest update fixes most of our complaints, updated to 4 stars. It took ten months to get its first update. Hope they keep improving This would be a lot of fun if the terrible hand tracking controls didnt get in the way. Have there been any updates since release? Please fix the unresponsive and inaccurate controls.
Demeo is a ton of fun on any platform. Our friends and we love it. However, the visionOS version needs a lot of work. The hand menus are just a pain to use. It is constantly flashing the cards open and close while our hands rest in our lap. Selecting a tile is way harder than it should be. Even picking up the dice can be a pain.
One of the best d&d based games out there.
Crashes all the time on iPad. Dont have any issues on quest 3 though. Too bad the developers abandoned this game to focus on battles and now the upcoming DnD. Game won tons of awards for best VR game then instead of maximizing potential revenue and growing Demeo by adding DLC to purchase they put all of their focus into Demeo battles and now partnered with Wizards of the coast to develop a VR dnd game. Big middle finger to the die hards that have had this game since the very beginning.
This is our most played game on the Vision Pro. We like it a lot, but it isnt easy.
We had this game when we owned the QUEST 2 and thought it was one of the best games on that platform we are so excited that it has come to the Apple Vision Pro! Iveon that platform we are so excited that it has come to the Apple Vision Pro! Ive played for about an hour and think its great, however, there are some small issues regarding the interface that we imagine will be worked out in short order As these are more annoyances rather than game killing problems. We recommend this game wholeheartedly.
This game has it all single player multiplayer, incredible graphics incredible gameplay incredible tracking multiplayer online with friends very intuitive controls, stellar take our money port more games over from quest. The hand tracking is flawless.
Immediate purchase. We own this for the PSVR2 so we were excited to do some comparisons. There was an issue on first launch where sound did not work in the tutorial, nor did the index finger pinch issue. We used the Force Quit menu to quit Demeo, and then it worked after that. The game looks great. The game sounds great. Controls on the other hand (pun intended) are iffy. This is not necessarily Demeos fault, but Apple needs to work with developers to make this more rock solid. For example, selecting an OK button works 70% of the time. We have to often select it again to get it to activate. Selecting cards from the wrist is finicky. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Compared with the PSVR2 controllers, which work 100% of the time, this needs work on Vision Pro. We cannot find a way to inspect characters. On PSVR2, we point the controller and a ray helps us point at what we want to select. We can quickly scan the field to see conditions of characters. On the Vision Pro, the only way we have found is to touch the character, which is not great. Maybe this is a bug. Pointing at things would be cool too (show the ray from our fingertip) but we realize that the index finger wont always be seen by the Vision Pro? Like the PSVR2 version, dropping characters is a bit spotty. In both games, we go to drop a character and either unintentional movements or another issue cause them to drop one spot away, which can be detrimental in many cases. Overall, THANK YOU for bringing this game to Vision Pro. Apple: Get on the horn with the developer and help make this version the best version out there.
The game is playable, but can use some work with bugs and overall gameplay. Once support updates come this will be great game. In fact, the game in itself is really fun with really addictive and tense moment. Cant wait to see where this game is in a couple months.
The character models are exceptionally blurry, but the rest of the game seems great so far.
The game has some major bugs, but other than that its a lot of fun with an active and helpful community.
Great port of Demeo for AVP! A couple of bugs but hoping performance can be improved a bit with updates. Movement can be a little finicky. We also would love the board to be present in 3D outside of the immersive mode but do not know if that is a limitation of hardware or not.
We almost didnt buy this because there was a bad review on reddit, but we took the chance and Im glad we did. The nav controls on the VP are a little touchy, but other than that we had a fun time. If they can work on the nav controls being a little smoother, we think this could be a showcase game for the VP. Thanks for taking the time to make it available to us VP owners.
Let us start by sayin controller support is 100% required for our purchase of any game on any Apple Platform. Our Xbox Elite Series 2 has severe drift issues in this game that is not present in any of our other Mac Games. Rendering the game unplayable for us. Beautiful though. Looks amazing. Wish we could play.
None of the bugs have been fixed. Resolution issues still there. Looks like they dropped all support for the vision pro.
In one month, the new visionOS release. The hand gestures that are used to open up the control center are the same to use and select cards in this game. Because of this, you will often run into situations where you close the app as youre trying to select a card because it thinks youre trying to bring uphome screen. This needs to be corrected or this game will be quickly on playable in the future OS.
Lots of potential, but inconstant hand controls makes this game an exercise in frustration.
How does this game not have a AR tabletop mode!? It was advertised, and launched without the most essential version of it. Absolutely wait for this one on the Vision Pro. It will be amazing once it has all the features that you would expect for a Vision Pro experience.
This team has a lot of issues in immersive mode. Unable to easily move the table around with multitouch. Resolution is poor. Compared to the quest three its very difficult to even move the players around with hand tracking. A lot of work still is needed. The window mode is cool but defeats the purpose of playing this game in VR.
We didnt not read the reviews before we purchased. We absolutely love the game, but it crashes so much it is not enjoyable. On the third level of the rat king it is literally crashing at every move and is more frustrating than enjoyable. We really hope they fix this soon because it is a great game.
Fun game but in DESPERATE need of optimization to run on Apple hardware/platforms. Playing on a new 13 M4 iPad Pro will drain the entire battery in less than 2 hours (and the MacbookPro isnt much better). You can try to plug it in to stay charged while playing, but it will cause the hardware to run so hot that the system wont be able to charge the battery and causes it to drain anyway. We already have burned through 10-12 battery cycles trying to play over the past week. Basically, without some optimization, it seems like this game will be a great way to destroy Apple hardware. We bought it for the Apple Vision Pro, which was fun to play once, but not going to play on that hardware again until the developer optimizes the game. Not about to put that much strain on $4000 hardware, or endure the heat that seems likely to fry the scalp or crack the screen haha.
However, the hand controls are about 50/50, only working about half the time. It is incredibly frustrating and has even resulted in completely uncommanded moves. Also, the RNG that handles the roll of the die seems to be broken sometimes. We had a game where every time we used Heavens Wrath (we think thats what its called) we rolled a skullIve also had four skulls in a row. Between the controls and the weird RNG, we cant recommend this game as is. Hopefully, the devs can work out the hand controls and the die roll issues. With those two issues fixed, this would be an easy 5 stars for us.
We've played Demeo on Meta Quest and iPad, but the Vision Pro implementation just doesn't cut it. It's difficult to move around due to the quirkiness and unreliability of the hand tracking. Gestures aren't entirely intuitive. Also it's way too easy to tap and click on something unintended. Sometimes the gloves work, sometimes they don't, and sometimes we get an overlay of our hands and gloves simultaneously. Vision Pro can certainly benefit from a good immersive 3-D game, but without a bit of work, this one isn't it.
Great game but the controls on the Vision Pro make it almost unusable. We were able to get past the glitch that didnt let you complete the tutorial but once inside the game other glitches happened that made the game unplayable all related to the controls on the Vision Pro. Love the look of the graphics on the Vision Pro really makes the game more enjoyable. Just need a better control scheme.
We love this game, we know about it though Meta Quest 3, later we found we can play on iPad so we didnt have any second thoughts on buying it But please let us use the Apple Pencil to tap on the screen, 2 finger actions are good but the pencil will be really helpful.
Simple enough to be fun. Complex enough to let you think and plan. But the best part is the multiplayer gameplay. The community playing is fantastic. Something about this game brings out the best in groups.
Love Demeo on Quest and PC, iPad gives us an excuse to level up yet another account.
Originally download this game because it looked like they had 3-D Vision Pro support. Cant actually complete the tutorial because some of the controls are based off of having an iPad. 3-D view in this game is actually just 2d on the Vision Pro. Looking forward to future improvements so we can play in true 3-D with remote friends.
Not sure if anyone else is having this issue, but our game crashes EVERY SINGLE GAME. We have this game on VR and have played for years. Absolutely love this game! We were very excited to have it on our iPad and we think the graphics and gameplay are great, but we cant get through 1 round of The Black sarcophagus (the shortest table to play) without the game closing completely. For the money we shouldnt have this issue. If the problem is fixed we would most definitely give it 5 stars and recommend it to everyone. We really hope they fix it and we didnt waste money.
