Enter the depths of the ancient city of Angor and prepare for battle. Form a mercenary party of adventurers, sell swords, rogue sorcerers and assassins and enlist with an army of Dwarves trying to retake their ancient homeland. Fight in a brutal campaign against goblins, undead, ratmen and the demon lords they worship.
Demon’s Rise is a turn-based tactical game where players must lead a party of six heroes through the bowels of an underground city. Battles are intense affairs where the proper use of terrain and cover is as important as the choice of spell or attack.
BATTLES: Fight through 35 grueling campaign levels and another 51 patrol missions.
CHARACTERS: Choose a band of six heroes from 30 playable character classes. Each class has unique strengths, weaknesses and special abilities.
REWARDS: Uncover the treasures of the old kingdom … find gold or thousands of possible weapons, pieces of armour and artifacts. Equip them to make your heroes stronger or sell them off and buy something more fitting.
EXPERIENCE: As your heroes fight, they gain experience, level up and unlock powerful new spells and abilities.
COVER / TERRAIN: Position is key to victory. Place your heroes behind cover for protection or next to a magical shrine for extra power.
MORALE: Your heroes and their enemies may panic when they see the battle go badly or enter a berserker fury if they see an ally cut down. Form a tight battle line where your stronger heroes can lend courage to the weaker ones and use intimidation as a weapon against your foes.
ABILITIES: Wizards can launch fireballs, cast protective wards or summon powerful monsters to their aid. Illusionists can trick their enemies into switching sides or make them panic without reason. Mighty warriors can make powerful weapon strikes, become berserk or heal themselves during battle. All 30 player classes and many of the enemies you will encounter can perform such abilities and can use them to turn defeat into victory.
Demon’s Rise is a traditional game with NO IN-APP PURCHASES or unfair "pay to win" mechanics. Victory is earned through courage, strength and tactics and not additional spending.

Game is fun and addictive. Campaign is way too short as it only took us 3 days to finish. There are some bugs on a few of the patrol maps where your character falls into the ground and you cant do anything besides restart the level again.
Love these games from wave light. Hours and hours of strategy. Tried the game on easy and won, but moving up to normal makes the game a real chess match. Dont over extend your troops in battle or expect them to die. Best part is you dont have to pay anything more than the price of the game. We will definitely buy all of wave light games future sequels of this game.
This is one of the most entertaining RPGs we have played in a while. Enjoyed it a enough to play several different ways hard ness levels.
We really enjoyed this game. We like tactics games that give you the option to grind for gear or levels. The game is a few years old but the art design, graphics, and music are top notch. The gameplay is easy to pick up and grasp. Lots of drops to hunt for,and the ability to swap out characters to try new teams is great for experimenting. Perfect for gaming while watching bad horror movies on Tubi or Hulu.
Good start. Def worth the .99 we paid. Would like to see more content, but there’s a 2. Not many games like this avail for ios. Small dev, has updated. No in-app crap. Music and voices became annoying, utilized option to turn down. Like having double speed for combat. We’ll probably get tagged for this, but keep up the attractive female characters. Support. Camera update fixed the rotation prob. No top down tho, unless on screen controls selected. Reply to dev: Impressive, timely response. Confirm top down controls fixed – ui interface no longer needed. Load times appear to have improved. Continue to replay w/ diff classes. No glaring ai or randomizer imbalance presenting yet. Add 1/2 star. Would like to see these games evolve. Some suggestions: base and army build, random encounters, choice affect world, economy, factions, character depth and interaction, battle damage, visible gear.
Engaging. Addictive. If only it wouldnt freeze frequently. We have the latest iPad Pro. Probably sloppy coding. Please fix.
There is a good game in here but the UI is terrible. Difficult fonts and a lack of clarity in so many places. Can’t see HPs clearly, actions left unclear, etc. It’s just muddy on so many levels. Some good characters though and we like the hex based movement and turn system. Clean up the controls and UI and this could be a gem.
Our save game corrupts every couple hours so we give up. Waste of money for this. It was fun for the little we playedall three times.

Finally took the plunge and bought this game after hearing about it a while ago. So glad we did: it’s a fun, satisfying, overall impressive package. We were looking for a worthwhile tactical rpg to get into, and we feel like we’ve found it. Give this series a try, it’s easily worth the price.
We reinstall just so we can leave a review, although we’ve been in the game a while back it’s still one of the best we’ve played on mobile. No by gem or gold scams; fun turn based tactical combat in a fantasy setting. Plenty of content and characters. We were a little disappointed when it ended abruptly; looking at the map it appeared that we had only finished one territory of what looked like a huge map. We’re not sure if the developer planned on adding additional campaign areas (I would have paid for extra content!) but at this point we don’t think it’s happening. The game as it stands however is well worth the money. We own all three titles by this developer and can say this is the most polished. If you like fantasy tactics, definitely pick it up and consider the other titles by the same developer.
This was exactly the game we were looking for…. Not too overwhelming to get a handle on and jump in time after time… Very fun and straightforward!

Right off the bat, this app glows with uncanny devotion and craftsmanship as it deffers from the more "usual" apps on the AppStore. We bought this game because we wanted to support the developers and to help prevent the horrid "Free" app population. Everyone interested in turn based games should gice this a go! UPDATE: November 5, 2016 the game will probably get no more updates since demons rise 2 is scheduled to be released November 10th. From start to finish, the game has gotten 10 updates spanning across 1 year but in all honesty, this game is truly perfection made for IOSand shows what games on mobile can do if taken seriously, such as ELSENHORN: XENOS for instance! Update: Monday September 25, 2017 Well, our friends, it looks like demons rise will no longer get any updates. It’s been a real fun ride watching this game grow and expand with updates from it’s original release 2 years ago from August 20, 2015 to its most current patch releasing in January 25, 2017. It had 13 revisions with that time, even after its sequel came out in November 10 2016. It’s sad when games die- especially ones this good-but, at least we’ve enjoyed the ride with it!!! We promised myself we would give it one last farewell, and so we will, with this review and one last download. This game started it all, people and will be missed!!
This continues to be our "go too" strategy app and the game has the best developer post release support, love the new changes and icon.
We go to scroll on the map and it moves our character -_- sometimes okay, sometimes they’re out in the open out of cover… Sigh.
Doesn’t work. Crashes at 7%. Also seems help desk doesn’t exist anymore…
Crashes on game load. Just saw where the developer said you need 1 GB RAM. We don’t know how much we have as we can’t find that info but apparently it’s not enough.
This is essentially a less polished grim fantasy x-com without most of the management functions. Decent diversity of characters to choose your team from. Dev seems very active with bug-fixing and expansion. This is a seriously fun game if you like complicated, deep strategy. It’s got a few annoying quirks and omissions, but they’re not deal breakers and may be addressed by the dev. A few more devs like this and the Trese Brothers and we may start to take the App Store back from the forces of freemium.
Excellent game! Challenging, fun and lots of decisions to make about strategy and team composition. Best RPG game for mobile devices. Latest update is great addition. With the latest update the bugs are gone, great additions to movenent.
Since the update we can no longer adjust advanced settings on our iPad Air. Please return our agency to sacrifice performance for beautiful graphics on our own terms. Keep up the good work. Fantastic game.
We figured I’d give this game a shot and dropped the $4.99 on it. After install, the game brings up a loading screen and crashes. The listed requirements for the game state IOS 8.0 or later, which we meet. Hopefully they’ll fix it soon.

We only found out about this game in anticipation of the sequel and we regret missing out on this gem for so long! Tons of items, 30 different characters (including a walking cannon), 85 quests and random battles add up to a ton of replay value. No IAP, no internet required. Amazing game, can’t wait for the sequel!
The graphics are enjoyable, the gameplay is relatively smooth with minor glitches if/when you try to activate certain abilities too soon before previous animations have completed. We love the variety of characters to choose from, each having unique and interesting abilities and the strengths v weaknesses of most the characters is well balanced. We fully enjoyed this game and it is worth every penny. One thing that must be fixed however, is the item shop. We have purchased several higher priced items where we think we are getting a good deal and then when we leave the shop and start the next battle the gear is suddenly much weaker!? It’s like the auto save didn’t work correctly or the shop keeper has swindled us! This only seems to occur with the more expensive purchases too unfortunately, so when buy our mage a new staff which has +4min missile dam, +8 max missile dam, and +11 min action regen and we start the next battle we find our mage’s stats don’t show the proper changes. So we leave the battle to go check the gear, now the staff says +7max missile dam, and +7 min action regen and we can sell it for about $7,000 less than the purchase price…. Please fix this or if not we hope it’s because this company is working on Demon’s Rise II. Can’t wait to play it is that’s happening New update has fixed the issue. Thank you, well done and very good game. Just started Demon’s Rise 2.
We really appreciate an original strategy game on iOS, but it’s comes up short. We do like the variety of different races you can combine to make up your 6 player party, however we dislike like the poor animations and sounds, level design and overused green color palette.

Best SRPG on the App Store, bar none. Dev have put so many hours into making it better and better. Tons of playable characters addition and improved gameplay. It will be on our iPad forever… It has been out for well over a year, and den is still pumping out updates. What more can you ask for?
… To give you an idea, this game has been played more in the past few days than our Steam account which has tons of unfinished RPGs.
Update 2: It only gets better! This is the best game of this genre-like someone else mentioned-on the App Store! Stop getting those bad freenium games that want your money and get this game. This game has true quality, constant update, tons of characters and so much more! Highly recommend. Update: The game just keeps improving. We noticed the latest updates with bug fixes, graphics enhancements, and other great stuff. It seems our suggestions are being taken seriously. We’re not sure if the fast-forward button was there before, but it sure makes things fly by faster in a good way. If you like strategy RPGs, don’t like annoying ads interrupting your gameplay or having to buy diamonds etc. To advance further, then look no further. This is a premium game with excellent graphics, nice/challenging gameplay with a variety of characters to choose from and customizations available (such as the graphics in the options menu). It’s a hidden gem of a game.
Reminiscent of Fire Emblem and similar games, you spend all your time jumping from combat scenario to combat scenario with only some flavor text and some menus to buy/sell equipment and trade out party members in between . The game is fairly deep, and after a few hours playing it we are still having fun learning different skills and how we can combine them. There are a pretty decent variety of attacks, support moves and debuffs at your disposal. We’re at encounters feel a bit repetitive at times, but they try to mix things up for the most part to keep you thinking.
Wow. Post-update, this game is, simpy put, fantastic. EVERYTHING that was done to the game; tweaks, balancing, additions, graphical changes – they’re all great. Before the update, this game was already very recommendable, but now after this latest update, there’s a pretty good chance this will wind up on a LOT of tactical/strategy RPG fans ‘best of’ lists. It’s like a mixture of XCOM and something from the Warhammer universe, but totally it’s own beast. You can build your own squad from a great selection of characters (30 of them!!) or play with a pre-built squad from one of the 4 warbands of the land. You’re able to ‘patrol ruins’ to search for loot and make sure your characters are strong enough for the next quest battle, which helps immensely if you get stuck on a quest level. We could go on and on and on… But we don’t think people really want to read iTunes reviews that are as long as blog or website reviews… So we’ll just say this… We are a HUGE SRPG fan, especially on our iDevice. Demon’s Rise is #4 on our favorite SRPG list (for any and all gaming consoles). If you’re a fan of the genre, you should pick it up. If you’re a fan of fantasy RPGs, and curious about the tactical side of the RPG genre, this would be a fantastic game to introduce you to that. It’s very ‘accessable’, but also allows for quite a bit of depth with character equips, the way your squad can play off one another, a cover system and more, keeping this SRPG ‘veteran’ very, VERY happy. Where do we start? Great graphics. Tons of options of characters, enemies. Story was meh, we’re not a story kind of guy. We don’t know how much we paid for it but we would gladly pay ten to fifteen for it. Lots of replay value,I beat it and keep going , looking for loot dawg!
Long time game nerd person. First time reviewer. This game is fantastic. We need more fantasy themed X-Com like iOS games. It could be improved upon, and many would pay a bit more for more content and expanded upgrades. Also: thanks for making games without in app purchases.
Best update ever! Good job! Only concern: Add more missions. 6 weeks are not enough! Another idea: Rerun all the missions with higher difficulty, but same save file.
We don’t often review games, but this developer has done a fine job creating a fun, deep, and accessible strategy RPG. Lots of variety in heroes, abilities, loot, and enemies. Good design for mobile (control scheme and autosaving). Solid graphics. Not too steep a learning curve. A story that’s actually interesting. Excellent content updates. Support quality devs!
We’ve looked for a long time for a game like this. Good story,great gameplay,great graphics… It’s the ultimate iPad RPG . Great characters,loot,enemies,strategy. It doesn’t get better than this. Party strategy/with ( hate to be cliche) Diablo elements and a great story.
Enjoyable hexagonal view turn based role playing game. Most of the main action revolves going about in a hub where you csn choose to go in a dungeon for a quest, practice with easier monsters, or rest at a inn. There is also a shrine donation system which allows you to obtain various buffs to aid your dungeon crawl runs. As this game takes place in the sewers though, the monsters blend in with the surroundings, making them harder to see and differentiate thier positions, that was our only gripe. Other than that this is a solid rpg for dungeon crawler fans.
Playingf on our iphone 6. Game glitches. We’ve run 4 patrol ruins quests, and there is no "continue-on" bar when we’ve won the fight. So we can see our loot and exp, but we have to quit the game and log back on in order to keep playing. And it never gives us our loot or xp :(. Fix that, and you get 5 stars. Feel free to comp us some in-game stuff. This is really aggravating!

Fun strategy game, well worth twice or three times the price, somewhat in the vein of Warhammer Quest or XCOM. It doesn’t have the production value of those other games, but that doesn’t take away any of the fun. And this game has some interesting concepts the others don’t. Give it a try!
