148apps.com – "After pulling off around half an hour of playtime, it comfortably becomes one of the most fast-paced enjoyable platforming games I’ve played in a while"

Total Mutant Mayhem on iOS!

Duke Nukem takes his Mighty Boot to the Big Apple. Using G.L.O.P.P. (Gluon Liquid Omega-Phased Plasma), the maniacal Mech Morphix has transformed the creatures of New York City into an army of bloodthirsty mutants. In Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project, Duke must deploy W.I.N. (Weapons, Insults and Name-Calling) to rid the city of goo-based bad guys, and return peace and tranquility to The City That Never Sleeps.

Originally released to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Duke Nukem in 2002, Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project blends together the best elements of Duke Nukem 3D and the best 2D sidescrolling of the first two games in the series, Duke Nukem and Duke Nukem II.

From babes, bombs and Battlelords, to goggles, guns and Gargoyles, revisit Duke's dynasty with these re-released classics. Return to a time when the King Of Action didn't need regenerative health or auto-aim – a time when action games were actually about action, an era when heroes had the strength to carry as many guns as they wanted and use as many cheats as they needed.

Celebrate Duke Nukem's 20th anniversary in sunshade-wearing, quick-quipping style with a title that – alongside the re-release of Duke's first two adventures – recognizes a series that's had a tremendous impact on an entire industry, and represents the best of Duke in a way that no other game could.

Key Features:

A Good Day To Duke: Rip 'em a new one with 9 brand new weapons, including the G.L.O.P.P. Ray, Pipe Bomb, Pulse Cannon and the almighty "press-to-kill-everything" X-3000.

New York, New York: 8 huge levels across various regions of New York City: Rooftop Rebellion, Chinatown Chiller, Metro Madness, Unholy Underworld, Fearsome Factory, Tanker Trouble and Deviant Drilling. And the last level is, let's say, a little out of town.

Evil Has A Snout: Blast, jump and smart-ass through more than 25 enemies, including Pig Cops, Gator Grunts, and Roachoids.

What Are You Waitin' For?: A potent blend of old school gameplay and smooth 3D visuals, Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project brings together the best of both Dukes for the ultimate Duke Nukem experience.

Let's rock!

Community Insight:

So we were playing a Duke Nukem game for the first time ever and it was this one. When Duke saidSon of a @#&$#! Our mom told us to delete this game. So make a remake that has NO BAD WORDS.

We got as far as Episode 8 part 1. When we attempt to load this level now it crashes the game. Can you please fix the bugs. Update: looks like we got past the bug. All works fine.

Please please please add controller support, we would absolutely love this game on our backbone. But we still give it 5/5 bc Im optimistic you guys will add controller support to make this game a 6/5.

Why are there two versions of this game here on the app store.

We would love to play this on our backbone. Please update.

The game was really great but make the hard version more difficult.

We came across this game in 2005 for the first time, we would visit our dads office and play for hours, what a blast we had. Aftr years pass by and things changed we couldnt seem to remember the name of this game. Past 3 years we would have like flashes of us playing a game like this but couldnt remember. We tried all the search engines describing the gameplay and characters and strangly we could only remember the radioactive symbol in game poster nothing else. As a joke we asked our frnd, never in our mind would we think he would have an answer for it as we thought no one would know it and he said duke nukem and we still wouldnt believe him we downloaded the game and played it and still couldnt feel the game as we were very stringent on the fact that the gameplay is different 30secnds into the game .. We threw the bomb on the pig and seen it blast .. Our goodness the immense amount of dopamine rush n goosebumps we got from it cant describe. LONG STORY SHORT – as a kid we loved it and now even more.

We been playin Duke Nukem since we were a kid. Always loved em always will! We hope The Duke never fades away from existence.

Havent found a problem yet. The controls are virtual buttons in an 8-way joystick and buttons to jump, fire, throw pipebomb, and change weapon. Didnt have this one back in the day but we did have Duke 2 and 3D and am enjoying this. Thanks so much.

Using Backbone controller need controller support please – thanks.

Plenty of cool one liners to keep the Spirit of the Duke in a side scrolling adventure.

Totally loyal to the classic we played as a kid.

Hi guys Thanks for the Awesome game we Love everything about it we had one issue with the game,we downloaded the free version and after the end of episode 1 we decided to upgrade to full version via in app purchase (1.99$). Everything was good till we reached episode 5 act 1, as soon as the level starts, all the controls disapears and we can do nothing, pls Advise.

Pretty dope reminds us of the good old days wish you could bring back Duke Nukem Time to Kill.

Please continue to support this game. There seems to be a problem with Duke speech missing sometimes. Other than that we still love playing this game on IOS. And with game pad support it is even better.

Its Duke; what else is there to say? Get it.

Sometimes not sure where to go , no hints. On the good note easy to manage. Great graphics , and Bloody. Thumbs up.

After all this time ive been looking for something that isnt one of those kingdom games, we finally found this. Although we would of bought the whole game, however, people told us its broken and totally rags, so we bought this game…we hope we made the right choice.

Love Duke Nuke em. Please bring Backbone one controller support. Let us be great, lets rock.

Fantastic Duke experience we bought the paid version because of the surprisingly resent update for fullscreen support on modern devices. Controls are still trash but slightly improved because of the bigger imputes with fullscreen support Now the big, big issue in this version audio is reversed. Left and right channels are switched, we really appreciate whoever decided to update this ancient game but reversed sound channels is a pretty stupid thing to do. Hey kid quit complaining about our game, now flip your headset and go kick some alien a$s ahh thanks for the tip Duke.

Great but would be better with controller.

We didnt get through the whole thing as we only played the beginning to see if itd be good on mobile. The controls for moving duke arent the best Ill be honest. If that gets fixed in this and the payed version (probably wont, wishful thinking on our part), then this would be great on mobile. We heard this was one the last of the better duke games, never played it, but Ill see how far we get until the controls annoy us. Shame really castlevania SOTN had descent controls, even though we played that on our old android and it may be different on iOS. Still would be nice to have better controls to move duke around.

It has a few problems mainly with the sound and how it keeps muting when you get back into the app.

Just started playing this game and got to the second level. Didnt play for a few days and go to load and the game just crashes on us.

Although this game hasnt been updated for about 2 years, and the graphics show it (a little too much), and theres an alarming amount of blood and gore for a game thats rated 12+, its still an awesome platfomer/shooter. With the parkour and shooting and blowing stuff up, we liked this game so much that we bought the whole thing.

We like this game a lot it be nice if there was a map to find things but o well its a good day to die lol.

Fun action thats still true to Dukes style. We say the controls could be a little more refined but overall its a pretty solid side scroller for mobile. Now if only we could get a new Duke Nukem for PS4.

We liked the game the first 3 levels, but the next few levels we didnt, why? Because we cant even play them!!! The game wont even open after a certain point and will just kick us out.

The buttons are not super sensitive like the jump will work some of the times but other than that its a fun Game.

We play this on both our Xbox and our iPadplays fine on our Xbox but every level/part we have played on the iPad has had glitches that were difficult to get by like now we started a new part and did a jump and duke goes up in the air and is stuck and cant get down.we reload and it keeps happeninghelp.

Considering the complete disaster that was Duke Nukem Forever, we were prepared for this to be really bad. That isn't the case and it's pleasantly nostalgic for fans of older Duke games. However, the controls and movement can be glitchy especially trying to ride the exhaust vent output to jump higher and also jumping down to narrow ledges.

Awesome game but it malfunctions after opening one of the doors. The screen quits panning. Duke quits walking he starts sliding on his toes and runs into some kind of fire you cant see because the screen will no longer move and he dies. U also cannot get out unless He dies.

What is wrong with this game then it won't play we have loaded unloaded other games so that it will play and when it does play it's just for the first couple of seconds and then it quits and goes back to the icon on our tablet and this is the free version.

Even on hard its too easy to beat in an hour. Also there are some bug issues. At some point the character wants to jump no matter where we tap on our screen. We have to close the game and reopen it. Also when going through doors or portals the weapon seems to switch to the next one to the right every time, well almost every time.

Everything seemed to be pretty solid, until we got to the Fearsome Factory Part 1. Our controllers are no longer showing and we cant move Duke… Whats up with that.

Curious if its worth spending money on.

We loved the games in the 90s, and enjoy playing this one. However, the game is buggy. Especially in the subway level.

It feels like a gameboy advanced game but with crappy 3d graphics.

We were having fun until we got to the helicopter boss fight, and now Im suing randy for our soul back.

Updated please plus we purchase all weapons but we only saw them once.

After making it too the first boss level, we kept being killed instantly after spawing. Started over, now duke is stuck under one of the window washing lifts, cant move. Sad when companies release buggy beta versions.

Support game controllers please like the backbone. This will make game play so much easier and better.

The game has a bug at the start of episode 2 part 2 and you can't continue the game.

Controls are beyond aggravating. Bring back the first person shooter.

Nice tribute…. To a Nintendo, where duke never lived. Duke was a 3D pc game. Not flat. We can't play this buggy crap. :(( its an activision… Not the fantastic 3D adventure it was at all!! :..0 Don't break our heart like this.

It is really glitchy. We finished level 1 and purchased the game. We found the secret area in level 2.1 and as soon as we got the secret weapon, we couldnt change any weapons. And it also looks like it no longer saves progress. When we totally quit the game to try and get the option to change our weapons, the only option was to replay. There was no option to pick up where we left off. Playing on our iPad, beta testing the new software. Update…other levels were glitchy as well. We were in the process of trying to finish a level of the Subway and lost all ability to fire a weapon. If an update every happens, it would be nice to save your progress to keep as a backup. Would love to know how to work around the loss of being able to change weapons. Reached out to the developer and no one responded.

Fix the game!!! Its not fair to pay for a game that doesnt even work.

We want it to work real bad! We played this when we were young & had a blast. We've tried down loading on our iPad multiple times & it just won't work.

This game is freaking fun!! It really brings us back to the first Duke Nukem game on the DOS computer. If you're looking for a fun puzzle platforming game to play on your phone, this app is for you.

Got a lot of hours on this game and the only time it freezes or the main character Duke floats around is on the Easy Level. Other than that it's pretty cool especially when you get up into the higher levels. Oh yeah, also just buy the gun that's "messy" and you can't go wrong. We have completed the game to the bitter end. One of the best free games we've played.
