Community Insight:

Ive never seen a dune movie, but that hasnt stopped us from loving this game. Seeing Direwolf is basically a seal of approval.

This is a great boardgame adaptation, minus 1star cause the tutorial was not enough to learn to play.

Pro- Great game. Good tutorial, great user interface great ai. Atmosphere is here with great sound effects. Cons- No play and pass mode. Cant make locations larger? Theres seems to still be a bug where you cant expand the cards in your hand for viewing causing some misplace if you forget the reveal effects.

It is a deck building game and many cards are in the master deck, available to be added to your deck in the game. You wont get through the master deck in a single game of Dune, which means the replay value is very high, because the cards in the master deck that you have available to add to your deck, determine how the game proceeds.

DI is obsoleted by the much better balanced Uprising. When can we see it.

We own Dune Uprising but not imperium. Uprising was so good that we wanted the ability to play it whenever we felt like it. Our only concern was that the base game would not be as good as uprising. After playing a dozen times, we can say that Ive thoroughly enjoyed each game. Ive also learned a lot about strategy by facing the AI opponents. If we could only pick one digital board game, this would be the one.

We play this exclusively against the Ai and find it quite fun and addictive. Excellent production value like all Dire Wolf games.

We love this game but whenever Helena Richese is one of our AI opponents suddenly cards in our hand dont math like they are supposed to. For instance, carryall is supposed to give you double the base amount of spice but every time we play the card while she is one of the opponents we only get the base amount and sometimes not even that. This can completely screw up future turn strategies. On that same note, Helena has also been able to get multiple cards at a much bigger discount than her character ability states with currency she doesnt have so by late game she is able to be far more overpowered than what anyone else can generate. We dont have this issue when playing the physical game or against any other AI opponent so we just opt out if she is auto selected. Amazing game otherwise.

The quality of the licensed material from the movie is excellent especially the sound. It makes you feel like youre in that world. The basic game is worth it and it becomes a training ground for the expansions that bring the whole universe to life in such thoughtful ways. Im guessing Someone on the dev team really likes Dune. The challenges are well thought out and provide a huge amount of extra content. This has been our favorite game for months.

Great game but unable to play without Game Center enabled. And lockdown mode disables Game Center and thereby disables the ability to play dune.

Interface is great, game plays very well. Hoping they add pass and play soon so that we can play with our spouse.

Perfect, dont see bugs. Computer cheats lol. Great game tho.

Exceptional strategy game. We of course played the board game first, but the mobile version is great in terms of playability, and its really nice to always have someone to play with and not have to do any setup or shuffling.

Very fun adaptation of the board game. Some minor differences like not being able to choose the order of operations like using the power on a card before choosing a game space (e.g. A ducal signet giving you one water allowing you to go to a space that spends one water). Edit: Ive been playing it wrong this whole time now we know.

Good game. Should have multi player pass and play.

This is the premier digital board game right now. Do you love Dune? Do you love board games? Then look no further. We should probably just get A.we. To write a review"Dune Imperium masterfully blends deck-building and worker placement into a strategic, thematic, and highly engaging board game experience.Um, yeah, that's basically what we said. And we used an em dash, so you know that A.we. Wrote this review. Lolz. Modern timesWhat a trip, eh.

Not only is Dune: Imperium physical version an incredibly deep and compelling game (even more so if youre a fan of the Dune IP) but Dire Wolf Digital have outdone themselves by creating an incredibly deep metagame within the app. There are many challenges that create special rules, something that doesnt exist in the base game. We also greatly appreciate that the achievements are thoughtful and not lazy throw away options like many board game apps. Finally, there is much appreciated cross-buy with the Steam version for the DLC. Great stuff.

Fix the harvest button and were all good. Great game otherwise.

Excellent adaptation. We find that even on an iPad theres too much content to fit on the screen. Even so, excellent.

This is just a great game. Love it. So much replay ability, cant wait for expansions.

If you have played the physical board game and like it, then youre going to love the app! Even if you havent, Dune Imperium is THE prime example of deck builder/worker placement combination out there. The app takes the setup time out of the equation along with any rule clarifications you might have. It also features unique challenge modes if you wear yourself out against the AI in solo mode. One of the smoothest transitions from tabletop to virtual Ive ever played.

Cant see Reveal part of card until reveal phase very frustrating other than this fantastic game. If this can be fixed or explain how to see it or pull entire hand up will quickly become Five star review Holding cards still kind of annoying but we can at least see reveal section.

Dune Imperium is one of our favorite boardgames to solo. We are so happy to have the digital version on our pc and phone! Now we can play anywhere we want! We encourage any fans of Dune or deckbuilding/worker placement games to give it a shot. If you like the base game we also recommend the expansion. We do not play without it.

This game is so great. Much love and appreciation. We love the Rise of IX expansion. Will Immortality be added any time soon.

The one thing missing from this incredible game is an adjustable timer. 90seconds isnt long enough, give us 3 options to choose from 90 seconds 3 minutes 5 minutes The code for the timer is already there. A minor UI change could handle the 3 timer options.

This is really a fantastic implementation of one of the best board games of all time. But theres no excuse as to why pass and play isnt available on this one, especially since its something that Dire Wolf Digital offers on their other (great) board game apps. If you only want to play solo or online, then youll love this game.

What a waste of money if we want to play against others on async. We get booted and taken over by a bot after only 1-2 days of inactivity. We never would have dropped this much money on an app had we known this would happen. And there is not excuse for this. Please fix this! We are going to be staying away from Direwolf if this is not fixed.

Some of the if you have an alliance effects both character and intrigue cards dont take effect. Have resulted in very upsetting matches online. But we love the game.

Dont get us wrong. The UI is beautiful, however when you have tech tiles actions available, the only way to know is if theres a green mist coming out of your deck/avatar area. You have to tap on your tech tiles to bring them all lined up, and then the available will be glowing gold. Also the cards that allows you to take another immediate turn is glitchy. Sometimes works and sometimes it doesnt. Overall we love this game, and anyone that owns, and has played the board games should try this. Despite the ui, which also has weird window size limitations on the mac, its an amazing game. We know its only going to get better.

This is a stellar adaptation of the board game which is easily in our top 10 bgs of all time.

Friends and we recently downloaded. Love the game. However, ever since we added Rise of Ix (2 days ago), the game always crashes at the end before the victor is announced.

There is a reason why this game sits at 3.2k five star reviews as of (June 7, 2025) TLDR: Buy this game now! And the expansion pack and any other expansion pack that may come out. REVIEW (June 7, 2025): Dune Imperium – – is a gallery of game design mastery that oozes from every interaction within this gem. The game just flows from one action to another, even with primitive learned basics, youll feel like you know enough, while still being challenged. The in-game tutorial PAIRS fabulously with the video from the YouTube Channel: Bludgeon His tutorial video is titled: How to Play Dune Imperium (Digital!) – Full Playthrough After you play the game tutorial and then watch even a smidgen of this YouTube video on your downtime, you will learn so much, to the point where you are doing combos because you understand enough of the basics. The YouTube video is very well done with super simplistic explanation of the game concepts (which is what expedites your understanding) and has you popping off combos. Highly advise you watch. Take your time with video, just small segments a day. Its timestamped video as well. THE GAME TUTORIAL: The tutorial & challenges are beyond fantastic, well thought out and they really do, move you along at a pace, each tutorial segment slightly pushes you , to see if you gleaned anything fun the previous segment. This portion is extremely well thought out. THE GAME SOLO CHALLENGES: The challenges also push you.. But.. In a completely different way.. As in, it understands you completed the tutorial, so now the challenges are focused on pushing you with your basic strategies and tactics, slightly pushing to see how well youve compiled all the ingredients youve learned and what recipes have you come up with. This game is masterfully done. It goes beyond the mechanics, game feel, game flow and game play. The attention to detail to craft a superb user experience is on the highest order of mastery. The subtle background music, so you can focus. The gentle animations, not overpowering your attention with distraction, just enough to stroke your imagination, for you to create the events. The graphics & artwork are the chefs kiss the user interface is a powerhouse of simplistic design at its finest.. The understanding will just flow because of it. Tap here to get to this thing to do that.. At its simplest. All of this commemorates into sensations of bliss for the entirety of the UX (user experience) a wonderful excellence that you should not miss out.

This game desperately needs pass and play. If you are traveling (train/plane/international), you need to have a non-online way to play. Bring on the multiplayer please.

Constantly have to log in on iPad if we force quit the app. This started after the recent iPad update.

Fantastic adaptation of the Dune universe into a strategic resource management card game. Great game vs AI after you beat the game on all difficulty modes and leaders try the custom modes next (at least the first level) Get it now.

Great game. It has a good tutorial that helps you learn how to play it. Not many games have a good or great tutorial. Soundtrack is great. Game runs and plays great. We havent came across any bugs or glitches whilst playing. Flawlessly game.

Well then. So much for testing! VP animations, resource award animations were broken in 2.2. Come on guys.

The board game translates well to the app and makes for good practice. The only downside is the Uprising expansion is not available.

The app is awesome – great implementation.

This game is amazing! The reason we are giving it four stars instead of five is the lack of local multiplayer (aka hot seat or pass-and-play). This would be the perfect game to play with friends or family on a long plane flight otherwise. We are amazed at how well it works on the small screen of an iPhone. Two bugs: 1. Cards in hand sometimes obscure leftmost intrigue cards, making them unplayable 2. Hard AI sometimes goes all in on combats that are clearly not worth winning. (E.g., 4 solari).

An incredible adaptation of the board game.

Really enjoy this game. It's high quality fun.

Very well made. Obviously not ideal to play on a mobile screen but theyve done a great job making it as easy and intuitive as possible. Would definitely recommend for anyone whos played the board games and if you havent theres a pretty detailed tutorial. Uprising is on the way.

After enjoying Dire Wolfs implementation of Root, we were really expecting to enjoy Dune: Imperium digital (their original board game and one of our favorites on the table). Unfortunately, there are some serious shortcomings. For one: after purchasing the expansion Rise of Ix, we can only play that expansion while connected to the internet. This is a major disappointment for us because we typically play digital board games on our iPad during long train or plane rides where we are not connected to the internet. Lack of pass-and-play local multiplayer is a big let-down. Every other digitized board game Ive played has it: Root, Wingspan, Everdell, etc. Not being able to play with a friend In sitting with is pretty lame. We do enjoy the UI of the game and we think the AI opponents are fun to play against. But some assumptions made around how people will play have alienated us.

Runs like a dream on our iPhone SE.

When is a gift not a gift? A better mobile game, there is none. The spice must flow.

Almost perfect, lacking uprising.

The system for multiplayer is buggy. So annoying watching the same previous 8 moves in a row.

This is such a beautiful game. We bought the tabletop version and its a great digital representation.

Along with Direwolfs other games this has the same great UI. We were nervous to spend on a complex game like this to play on our iPhone. Our eyes are not what they once were. Thankfully the UI is well made and we have had no issues learning and enjoying this great game.
