Great clone of DD. Lots of typos that detract from immersion. Devs: Ive been screenshotting the typos if you want to hire a copy editor.
As the title states, still enjoyable.
If youre looking for that dark dungeon mobile game this is it. Theres very few things to complain about aside from minor grammatical errors here and there. The pay portion of the game is very minimal and doesnt really give you an unfair disadvantage.
Pretty solid game, but you whenever you try to change your name or your party members names, a prompt comes up saying its invalid, no matter what you type.
Obviously this game copied about 98% of Darkest Dungeon, but was unable to duplicate any of the mood, flavor, or originality. In addition, the frequent typos and poor grammar detract from any immersion. Something as simple clicking on the pen icon to change the name of a heros awful default name of Goos.lyen brings up an error message in Chinese and restores the name to what it was. Why even have the button to rename them then? Overall, this game is a subpar copy with clashing art styles, poor translation, and awkward gameplay.
After a few days when you get to around level 14 ish it gets really boring u just keep repeating the same set of things over and over with no new elements. It was fun in the beginning though.
Im impressed by the quality and we just finished the introduction. It doesnt feel like exactly like Darkest Dungeons and thats a good thing. We noticed right away we need better audio sliders, because of the music, which is way too loud and way too upbeat for a game this depressing. Everything else about it is just quality portable RPG Dungeon crawling with stats, skills, strategy, and treasures full of graded Gear. Ill update at a later point in our play through, but its definitely worth the .99 we paid for it.

Purchased in game diamonds with a legendary hero and a rare one but havent received any diamonds nor heros, when we went to the app support we cant even file a claim. If this issue becomes unresolved we would like a refund as we have purchased both the game and additional content with nothing in return.
We havent paid a dime other than letting them sell our information and intrude on our privacy but we use a DNS server along with VPN so they do not get anything. Which makes this game completely free too us.

Its 4/5 of the content of Darkest Dungeon that is playable on the iPhone, when Darkest Dungeon is not. If you like Darkest Dungeon and want to play essentially a clone of that game that is optimized for your phone, this game is 100% for you. Buy it now.
We like the game. It ditched a lot of the annoying aspects of darkest dungeon. A much better mobile experience.
Absolutely love this game. But everything got wiped a couple updates ago and we cant access anything. It makes you replay the tutorial and you cant even finish because you cant access the food you pick up. We just want to play lol its so much fun.
Originally when we downloaded this game we assumed it was gonna be a ripoff of darkest dungeon but its pretty much unplayable after the 3rd mission which is like 10 min into the game. On the 3rd mission your first and only squad gets either wiped or retreats and has to spend literally at least 15+ games in the infirmary to fully heal. Keep in mind it cost +400 to put a single character out of the 4 in your squad and you only get 100 gold per mission. Theres 2 other playable missions so youll find yourself hard stuck grinding the same short mission for at least 2-3 hours before you get anywhere.
This was extremely disappointing. Updated the game and it wiped put our entire saved data. Pretty messed up.
Latest update deleted all our progress, and we cant complete the tutorial. You broke your game.
2 months playing and after update to v1.4.2 our progress lost. Progress wiped, rolled back to tutorial and it can be completed. What an update.
Im unable to watch ads and when we try to contact the support about this problem, the form keeps saying that we need to check the logs from the game. THERE IS NO SUCH THING IN GAME AT ALL.
Last update wiped our game. New game launches tutorial. We had made in app purchases and those gems and heroes are all gone with the save it seems. Also latest update tutorial cannot be completed. 3rd part theres no items in supplies to eat, 5th part no items to equip to win the fight vs. 2. (The game itself is quite amazing and fun, hoping for some help here).

Now that DD doesnt work on newest iOS, this is a great alternative. Like DD but seems more forgiving.

Simplified darkest dungeon for iPhone, easier and simpler overall, but great to play for a bit when you have some downtime.
Just hope there are more characters to hire.

We love this game , the style it's artistic style. It keeps us locked. We play this for hours for real.
Normally we do not write reviews. This game is incredibly fun. Apparently its a Darkest Dungeon clone, but Ive never played it. The first couple levels are tough, but heres a tip: keep a weak enemy alive and spam healing abilities until you are topped off, and pass your action if you dont have healing or defense options. Try not to use the gold based healing options out of combat unless absolutely needed, they sink your resources. Anyhow, enjoy the game. It is definitely not P2W.
Great mobile version of darkest dungeon. Worth a try.
You can get over the Darkest Dungeon facelift. Its actually really well done and if you can look past the obvious then you can have a great time. Its faster and more forgiving than DD and it fine to play in bursts.
If you like Dark Dungeon, you will like this game. If you like RPG and growth game, you will like this. Its really hard to find a game that can play repeatedly without being bored. A lot of different skills and character. Highly recommended.

As you already know, this app made by a Chinese developer and there are giant holes in Chinese copyrights laws. We personally own Darkest Dungeon on both PC and Switch but still dig this iphone clone very much. Ignore the fanboys who crying for Red Hooks, this game is worth the price, you don't really need to pay iap to beat the game (grinding is a must for this type of games) so that somewhat make the app premium (pay once to play). It's a Darkest Dungeon clone, accept it. But we feel like a full port by Red Hooks wouldn't be ideal for the iphone platform as the screen is too small to cramp lots of UI items in. Also this clone simplified the game elements down enough to make it easy to just jump in, play for 15-20 mins and quit (ex: maps are shorter, no fear system, no torch system, tanks are tankier, offensive heroes deal more dmg, healers heal more hp, etc). The original DD maps are pretty long for this purpose. For ipad platform, the original game is playable because the screen is big and it gives you a somewhat full gaming experience, you know, sit down and play games for 2+ hours. Overall, we're very satisfied with this game,.
