Community Insight:

No in app purchases and all the things you want from a TD. Breath of fresh air. Must own for any TD fans, end of story. Period. Mic drop. Put a fork in it, were done here.

This is the best game on iOS. Endlessly replay-able tower defense with deep strategy and progression. Worth 60$, anything less is the deal of the century.

We love that we can buy a game and play it without having to deal with ads and micro transactions. Thanks to the publisher for making a fun game that only costs $3.

We cannot recommend enough. Best tower defense game Ive ever played.

This game is a gem. The gameplay is perfectly balanced to allow the player to win without resorting to IAP, just plain thinking strategies. We bought this and the sequel as the game is just so good. This game is way better than 90% of the TD wannabes in the App Store: these spam you with loads of monsters until you have to use paid powers to win, or are just impossible to enjoy. Buy this, highly recommended.

Every TD game seems to play the frustration-relief addiction con that makes people pay for the missing thing they need to win. Not this game. This game has deceptively old school graphics because the maps are huge and contain many units at once. Ive played tons of TD and this game and its successor are the ONLY one we really enjoyed.

You have to play this if you like tower defense games, and even more so if you enjoyed Orcs Must Die. The strategy required makes the game more involved than a lot of tower defense games on iOS. It also adds enough challenge so that when you finally figure out a layout that can beat a level, it is very satisfying. We're looking forward to completing all the achievements and trying out different trap loadouts. If you like tower defense games and want one of the best on mobile, this is one of them. A must play.

If you like tower defense just buy it.

This is truly one of the best tower defense games Ive ever played.

Its hard to find a game this fun.

This is a throwback to some of the best tower defense games of the mid 2000s Internet with well balanced replay-ability with the rune system. Plus, theres no ads, micro transactions, premium currencies, or timeouts which is unbelievable. Well deserved 5 stars.

Love that you pay for the game once and you arent constantly forced to buy in app purchases to compete. Our only complaint is that after beating a particularly hard level the game locked up and we had to replay it.

An instant-classic game with great mechanics and depth. Would be a value at 4X the price. Wish there were more like it! Its a tower defense game but reminds us of Subsets FTL hundreds of hours of fun you can pour into this game.

We got this because we saw Dungeon Warfare 2 on toucharcade, and wanted to see how part 1 was, and found this was a little cheaper, so we thought Id check this out first. Its gameplay is actually better than Kingdom Rush (the whole series), The catch is the pixel art is ugly. Its messed up our studying for almost 2 weeks. The length of the game is ridiculously long. Fun Fun Fun, Evil Evil Evil lol.

For us weirdos who prefer to play a game that is optimized for the device were using. We love this game just as much as the new one, thanks for the update and a great game.

This game lets you get creative with defense and has units that will attempt to foil your best laid plans.

First of all, Id give this a 5/5 because its extremely fun. There is however a small glitch that ruins a lot of our plays. Sometimes when we click the pause button, it instead shows the restart/quit game menu. Then we have to leave the menu and try to click pause again, but the gameplay continues as we keep trying this. This is a problem because many of our box builds depend on units being in the right square at the right time, and when this glitch happens, the units have already moved on. Devs, if youre reading this, please fix! We love this game.

Update: Ive been playing this game for over 2 years and we have NEVER found a better game in ANY genre!! This is our ALL TIME FAVORITE iOS game! The only thing we could possibly wish for is a sequel!!! This game is awesome! We're not a fan of TD, so we passed this up a few times. Now we feel stupid for not buying this game sooner! This game is challenging but isn't the type to frustrate. Each failure presents a challenge to come up with new strategies to complete a level…that, combined with an amazing soundtrack and tons to earn, the addictively high replay value make the $3.99 price tag seem tiny in comparison. Thank you, developers! PS- the word "un-put-downable" would be a good way to describe this gem.

This is the best td game on any platform, you can buy it without fear, no comparison, its balanced, have endless mode, strategy at its best, But, Please, developers, launch dw2 for iOS.

Feels like a cross between GemCraft and Orcs Must Die, in 2d. No IAP, no cheese, just hours and hours of solid TD gameplay. More, please.

Its hands down the best TD out there but where are the updates.

A fresh perspective on Tower Defense games.

Best TD game in ages. PLEASE developer, port Dungeon Warfare 2 to IPad, its so much more fun to play on the go not sitting in front of PC desktop Steam. Please bro.

Somehow stumbled across this TD game and very glad we did. Best TD game we've played!! Looking forward to the second one! Great job.

Great game. Need more games like this.

Im addicted to tower defense games and this is the best one. Great concept, gameplay is unapologetically addictive and brutal, even the sound and music are stellar.

TD awesomeness from end to end. Very clever XP system keeps us coming back – hunting for that best meat grinder on each map. No ads etc, just a fun game.

This is the real deal, an incredible fun and challenging tower defense game, with no BS in app purchases to slow down your progress. Pure gameplay, awesome tunes and tons of fun and variety. Thank you.

This little gem is an absolute joy to play. No pay2win bs, no microtransactions, just solid, challenging, rewarding gameplay. This borders on a puzzle game, because each level is really flexible and allows for several different approaches. One of the very few games in the app store that would fall under "strategy" and ACTUALLY REQUIRES STRATEGY! 5/7, 11/10 with rice, extremely happy with our purchase.

Its everything a tower defense game should be. Minus one star for not having a story.

Dont be fooled like us folks these reviews cannot be from real players this game is awful! Old style graphics poorly made boring dont spend money on this!! We did round one and am done.

Imaginative, easy to learn and incredibly hard to master. And it doesn't have any hidden monetization crap going on – just many many hours of hard fun.

A more creative, diversely towered, satisfying T.D. Game than MOST of what is out there. AND all for one fair price! If your thinkin' about buying this and then you don't… You stupid.

A simply beautiful experience. You don't control a character or some such, it's just your traps and ingenuity between you and your enemies. Paying for the game upfront means no adds or silly currencies that encourage you to pay real life money either. A gem of a game.

Fun and challenging TD with various ways to play through each level.

Serious fun, great mechanics, and yes it is REALLY hard to get perfect on all the levels. Even going back after upgrading all our traps there is a couple we can't get perfect scores on. Great concept and execution. We hope there are more in the future.

Fun TD with interesting shifts from the genre. Difficulty curve us steep, but you get used to ye after a bit.

Well this is our very first review since we got an iPhone years ago. We have spent approximately 30 hours on this game so we thought we might as well use 5 minutes to rate it. This game has many possibilities. There's fun in every game you play, no matter the first or the fiftieth round it is.

Absolutely the best TD made to date.

Countless hours of gameplay. So epic.

Provides challenging levels with plenty of variation.

Been looking for another good TD without microtransactions ruining it, and still with a great amount of strategy! It's another "place your towers wherever you want" type game and the mobs, for the most part, don't simply run on predetermined paths. Difficulty progression is good; rune system to add your own difficulty is well executed. Highly recommended.

… But had to for this game. If you like TD games, do yourself a favor and buy this one.

This game is awesome! Challenging and never boring. Finally a game that isn't an easy win. Strategy is key.

Such a great game. Challenging levels, lots of depth. Best TD ever.

We play A LOT of tower defense games and this is the best there is. Period. A truly great game. Not formulaic. Challenging and thoughtful levels. Fun and different traps. And we love that there are no in-app purchases. When are the additional levels coming.

This is a really fun game to pass time with and it is also challenging.

Keeps you wanting to play more. Cool lvls dose not feel repetitive.
