Description

From Everfrost to Bellsong, many a peaceful year has passed in Everdell — but the time has come for new territories to be settled and new cities to be established…

Adapted from the award-winning board game from Tabletop Tycoon, Everdell is a fantastical city building game combining worker placement and strategic card play to create a new civilization. Gather resources to build fanciful Constructions and recruit colorful Critters to make your city thrive. Each card in your city scores points, and after four seasons have passed the highest-scoring city wins!

Face off against other founders in cross-platform multiplayer games, or test your civic wits with AI play and Solo Challenges!

On each turn, you’ll take one of three actions:

1.) Place a Worker. Send one of your helpful workers out into the valley to gather resources! Berries, Twigs, Resin, Pebbles…and of course Cards! You’ll need them all to help your new civilization grow.

2.) Play a Card. Your city can hold up to 15 Construction and Critter cards. Cards generate resources, open up new abilities, and score points to win the game! Discover combos and synergies to race past your opponents.

3.) Prepare for the Next Season. When the seasons change, your workers come home and get ready for the next round. But plan your city carefully! After four seasons, the Winter Moon returns and the game will end.

There are buildings to construct, lively characters to meet, events to host— you will have a busy year ahead of you!

Will the sun shine brightest on your city before the winter moon rises? Welcome to Everdell!

Everdell Reviews

Loving the app! Id buy the expansions if they ever come out for digital.

A great IRL game, brought to the iPad in a wonderful form. Very polished. Beautiful to look at. Dont mind paying for quality! Bring on the expansions!

A fantastic rendition! Wish that there was a way to confirm where you are dragging a critter. Sometimes we drag and place by mistake. Its great if you’re itching to play Everdell but your partner is tired of playing with you. Im very satisfied with the solo games, especially since Im new to Everdell. Its helped us recognize the cards and their actions.

It’s actually better to play on the Mac because accidental taps never happen, like they do on iPad. Our only criticism of the game is: A) It is way too easy to accidentally tap the meeple and think you’re scrolling when in fact you’re dragging out a non-undo-able completely wrong move B) It would be much better to have an undo option. There just aren’t that many moves, and we’ve lost too many games from (A) leading to dragging a meeple to the useless "take one food" spot C) Extremely minor feature request: we would really love statistics on how many games we’ve won/lost.

Our vision isn’t the best, and being able to download iOS games to play in MacOS on m1 macs is a boon! This is a great board game, and the app really allows you to learn the game well! Wish we could download the iOS arcade games to the M1 mac, but seemingly we only see the purchased iOS games available to download on our laptop.

Very well done and fun! Please let us chose our character and bring the expansions soon. Also a bonus would be to change the appearance as seasons change. So nice to have this on our iPhone to play against our wife on her iPad and solo modes!!

Really great gameplay and interactability throughout; actually learned a few rules we hadn’t picked up (e.g. No multiples of a given unique critter/construction) while playing the original tabled version.

The digital version of Everdell is lovely! Nice visuals, great music, and gameplay works perfectly for the most part. Echoing some other reviewers, we believe there should be an undo feature or an extra confirmation for playing a card or placing a worker. For an undo feature, perhaps it could be like an undo vote (if in a multiplayer match) where the lobby has to majority vote to be able to undo. We really really hope they add the expansions! They would add such a richness and an even greater amount of replayability to the game.

Looking forward to the next update that will allow user to arrange cards in any order and also list of stats (cards played, points, averages, etc.)

We got the board game to play, however, we really found the small print very difficult to read. It was cumbersome using a magnifier all the time. Then we saw this app and thought Id give it a try. Awesome!! You can pinch out to enlarge the cards. Game play is really nice. The only thing we would hope for is a take back option. Like when you place a worker on the journey and change your mind before the turn is over, it would be nice to be able to do that.

Love the game and the adaptation. We first played the board game and was so happy this was made. The local challenges are such a fun way of making the game feel different and new when you need a fresh challenge. Very happy with it, will check out more dire wolf games :)

We are an avid tabletop gamer and own the hard copy of this game. This is so well done we are eager for the tabletop revolution to be digitized!

Love this game but would love to be able to play at least Mistwood + Legendary expansion! We love this game and app a lot.

The rules are a little different than we play but nothing to drastic.

Everdell is our favorite board game, and we squealed when we opened the New Leaf expansion and there was an advert for the digital version. We had to buy it immediately! This is the BEST digital version of any board game, Ticket to Ride, Agricola, Catan, etc., that we’ve ever played. It brings the wooden animals and the Evertree into animated life. The tutorial was simple and the digital play follows the tabletop version. We LOVE it! We only hope they may the expansions!

This is such a wonderful game; youve really done an excellent job of taking a great board game and making it perhaps better(?) by making it digital. The artwork is just beautiful. We would love it if two things improved, though. One is that we accidentally place workers when Im just trying to look around the board. Perhaps a button at the very bottom before placing a worker or maybe a question after placing them, Would you like to place the worker here? And an undo if you didnt mean to place them at all. Digital Wingspan has a button you push after every action and an undo button to make sure you really meant to do it. It wouldnt be necessary for playing a card, though, as youve made the tiny lag to make sure we really are meaning to. Thats good. The other thing is, well, the game ends very abruptly. Yes, yes, we know when its going to end. But Im the type of person who loves compliments. Words of Affirmation – we thrive on them. Look at digital Wingspan or Carcassonne. Their endings are pretty good. Id love it if you could show each critter and construction and add the points one at a time, and with things like the king card highlighting events we accomplish. Then show each event and play a little fanfare. (Also a skip button for those who just want to see if they won) Perhaps animate our critters and have them dance a little jig or give us a wave or a thumbs up or have the harvester and gatherer and husband and wife hug each other. That would be so cute. Ok, ok, Im asking too much. If you dont change the ending at all, its still an amazing game.

Fantastic app, but our game group encounters bugs more than 50% of matches. Really tarnishes the experience.

Everdell is one of our favorite games and this adaptation did not disappoint. It can be tough to see everything when playing on the phone. Playing on the iPad is a near perfect experience. We love the added challenges. We hope the expansions can be incorporated in the future!

One of the best app driven games ever!

Everdell is a gentle, beautiful, one-of-a-kind game. The app does not allow you to cancel out of an action, however, and the actions of the other players (when playing against the game, not live people) go a little fast at times. But it deserves five stars nonetheless.

A great IRL game, brought to the iPad in a wonderful form. Very polished. Beautiful to look at. Dont mind paying for quality! Bring on the expansions!

Wish they had the expansions but its just as fun as the board game.

Overall great execution! Base game only at the moment. We would love to see some of the other expansions, as we are a fan of the powers and legendary critters and constructions being used in every game it ups the replay value everdell has immensely. On our phone and with the size of our fingers the worker placement sometimes doesnt follow what we want to do easily would be our only complaint. Dont let that discourage you from playing the app though because it is wonderful.

We love this game, but the auto save causes extreme lag and can make the game unplayable without restarting.

Game itself is super fun and the app is very pretty. That being said, its still a wip. Game can be buggy at times, and as others have said, the ui can be confusing with placing the workers in the wrong position or accidentally choosing to use a card you didnt want to. A simple undo button would really help to fix the issue, but until that comes, even though we love the game, we can only give it 3 stars for the time being :/

Great game, avg port. Overly sensitive, needs to have a confirm button for all actions (not only some).

This was seems to be designed for a desktop monitor and squished down to a mobile format. Perhaps if you know the game, its fine. You might not need to squint at illegible icons with thick ugly borders. We were hoping to quickly learn the game however and bailed with frustration when most of the screen space is dedicated to cute artwork.

Great game. Great visuals. But too many finicky things. The drag your character and hover over a location to use it is terrible. Something most app developers stopped a long time ago because of how unreliable it is. Once every game or two our character will drop on a location we didnt intend him to go to. No reason you cant just tap the paw print and confirm it even. Drag and drop is antiquated. At least give us the option. Also theres been a few times we’ve used our card to copy an opponents green card, chosen the farm and not gotten our berries. So theres some unreliable mechanisms we guess. Get rid of drag and drop and this is a five star game.

Looks like an update killed itI get Dire Wolf splash, then screen of black. Rebooted, even. No luck.

We’ve played the board game and now we bought the mobile version. The one and only issue is when the AI players run out of critters it auto regenerates them fully mid-season. This makes it IMPOSSIBLE to play against them. They double your resources due to receiving their critters back right away and if you fix this we will rate 5 stars ASAP!

The game wont let you move the character or drag the cards most of the time. We bought the game thinking that this issue would have been resolved by now by the developers. We wouldnt purchase this game until the next update.

There’s a really huge bug in your "Select Opponent" (Choose opponent to give resources or cards to) UI. It does not allow you to select any opponents, even when selection should be valid. Played a 4P game with friends, and 2 had to resign because of the bug. They were stuck in the selection screen, not allowed to select, or to cancel their move, and were forced to resign. One of them encountered this bug trying to play the fool, the other encountered it with some other card that required opponent selection. We encountered it myself with the Post office, but that move was cancellable. Happened on both ios and android. Please take a look at this one, it makes the game unplayable! Love this app, just added the 1 star so it stands out and you actually see this comment. Will change to 5 star soon as you see it :)

This is a fantastic digital translation of our favorite board game. We’ve already played it for probably a dozen hours over the past couple of weeks. It runs flawlessly and the design captures the charm of the board game artwork. As of right now, this is only the base game. We very much hope that Dire Wolf launches DLC to expand play options in the future!

20 October update: our game lasted maybe three weeks. Its over and none of us have seen the final result. We were pretty sure we knew the final score but there was no way to confirm as the game simply went away. This was a total fail. Shame on Direwolf. Theyve had plenty of time to fix things. – 10 October update: still no fixes! In its present state, the game can be unplayable. It is ridiculously easy to move your character and drop it in an unwanted place, losing your turn in the process. THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE EARLY ON. We have sent three feedbacks describing bugs, all of which are still killing this game. Caveat emptor. If we had known it was this bad, we never would have bought it. – Touch errors, particularly in placing workers, is a HUGE problem. You can potentially ruin your game as there is no undo nor confirm buttons for placements. In fact, it has happened to us and its do so easy to Pisces a worker incorrectly, even when the objective lights up as a target. This MUST be fixed. This problem can make the game unplayable.

Have the complete collection. Play it all the time. Decided to try the app but just didnt jive with it. No fault of the app, just not for us. We played maybe 10 minutes yet cant get a refund. We find this shady.

Own physical Everdell and expansions. Big fan of the Root adaptation by this co, bought and purchased Raiders of the North Sea just to support these (really happy with that purchase as well!), and was ecstatic to learn Everdell was being adapted and glad to finally play it. Really happy with the adaption, we expect it will be another regular for digital board game nights. Hope to see some improvements, and more future adaptations! Off by 1 Bug: Decrease by 3 effects work fine if the selection amounts exactly to 3, but when you have to choose yourself how much it only allows a decrease by 2. Some improving notes: – Would prefer not having to drag our critter to go to a location, its unnecessarily cumbersome. Would at least like an option to toggle this behavior. – Would really like the ability to choose our critter. Would also like, in general, if more critters are available. – When hovering over the special event cards, it would be nice to see the card text as well it helps to strategize.

Great game! Great App! Everything works smooooooth as butter. But the whole wife/husband cards controversy is pretty ridiculous. This app is definitely a 5 star app very well polished, and we cant wait for expansions! We understand the developer probably has no say as to whether to include husband/wife vs. Harvester/gatherer but can you at least give us the option which version of the card naming we can use in the app? How can that hurt anything? And doesnt cost a digital production anything. One of the things that drew us to this game was how very well the thematic elements were executed and the husband/wife sharing one space, tending to the farm was a big part of the thematic element. Its a shame that particular element had to be undone to be considered inclusive Again, we understand the position of the designer, and the limitations of the developer, but please give us the option of which card set to use. Heck, Id even pay for it as an IAP.

We love the tabletop game and Im impressed by the app! It offers challenges and fun twists but also allows you to play the game as you would on the table. The graphics and music are lovely and really enhance the experience. We love that theres a pass and play version so we can play with our family when we travel. Thank you for creating this!

This app was given a bit over a month prior to today. With the up and coming release of the Complete Collection a little over a year from now this game is such a joy in giving an opportunity to decide upon a $300 investment with an easy $10 one. We think the game is perfect currently despite its short time on the store-it has no perceived errors however we have not visited online play at this time. We would highly recommend to any adolescent or adult who is looking for a future board game that they can have inherent skill in the knowledge of the game and secure a reliably good time for the people they surround themselves with. This game makes these things possible.

We hope they add more expansions and more critters to choose from.

This is one of the best board games you can buy right now and the mobile experience has everything you could ask for in an adaptation Im just disappointed we couldnt give it 10 stars oh wait we can Update: we would definitely love if they would build in push notifications for when it is your turn on games where everybody cant actively sit logged in throughout the entire duration.

Great adaptation of the board game. Would be nice if you could pick the animals you play as though. Maybe Im just clueless but it appears to be random.

The animations are great. Gameplay is great. This is one of our favorite board games and it works really well. Little worker critters are really cute. Music is great. The challenges are a great idea and excellent so far that we have tried. A nice way to give digital only content to keep it fresh for people play the physical board game a lot. Two areas for improvement we would suggest and plead for: 1) The meadow cards are too small for us to see. Im on the biggest iPad and the zoom options dont go in tight enough for us to see. Nice to be able to tap on the cards and enlarge, but the meadow just does not zoom in close enough for us. (UPDATE: THIS HAS BEEN FIXED AND IT VERY HELPFUL to have the bigger view! Thank you!) 2) Also need an undo button for mistakes. 2x in our first game, our navigating around the interface to look for things either played a card or placed a worker we did not intend just by moving around. Needs to be an undo button for that.

Like this game very much. When will Chinese be supported?

Our favorite game, just hope they will be adding the expansions to it.

Waiting for our complete collection on Kickstarter to arrive. This is a great substitute until that gets here. We love Everdell, this is a nice version to play any time. What the game needs, we cant find it, an undo button, we once used the ruins by mistake, and there was no way to cancel the action. So we quit the match.

This game plays great as a tabletop (it can get very length though) but even better as a digital edition if you are wanting a quick round without all the setup and waiting on opponents to move. We love the fact that the game shows you which cards you can play, which spaces are an option for you to move, how many points you are gaining based on the card contingency benefits and even tells you what you are missing if you are trying to achieve a special event. We would prefer to be able to select which animal is our player markers – we find it confusing since typically we will play as the same animal each time on the table top game and when our animal changes each game we actually forget which marker is ours and where we have went on the board – we keep having to remind myself of which animal we are for that game.
