Any thoughts for a new campaign?
We played this one back in the 90s on PC and it was a great experience. It translates well to mobile devices and is controller friendly as well. Incredible job by the devs making an engaging and reasonably realistic combat sim that is t simply a turn-n-burn action game!
We love the game, love the realism but it needs some updating your competition is surpassing you guys just look at the realism of the F/A-18 Hornet on CarrierLandingHD, it blows our mind, but their mission are non existent and their dog fights are really dog fight when your fighting a drone that doesnt shoot back. The FCR that they have is comparable to DCS and its well done. All we are asking for is love for the cockpit, a tiny bit better graphics, and better tips on how to beat a mission, love the story line its great!!!. Take a look at Armed Airforces, CarrierLandingHD to see what Im referring to.
This game is just F/A-18 Operation Iraqi Freedom that was out for PC, and has now essentially been made into a mobile game. We have hundreds of hours on both the PC and Mobile game. Highly realistic, and by far one of the most realistic F/A-18 simulators, and air combat simulators on the App Store today, hands down. No competition. A great game that can entertain for hours, and give users a taste of what the F/A-18 Hornet is capable of (the game is based off of the original C/D model Hornet, not the E/F Super Hornet.
Fantastic port. Wasnt sure that the game would translate to mobile very well, but they made it work. If youre looking for a more realistic air combat sim, this is one to look at. Im hoping they release the Korea expansion pack.
Is there a way we can customize the wingmens loadouts while in campaign? We changed it once on accident and cant figure out how to recreate the event again. :/ Aside from our incompetence, the game is amazing! Only game that tops this in aerial combat is DCS which is a pc game, and only because the visual capabilities and cockpit accuracy across multiple jets, this is as good as it gets for under 30 dollars guys! Its amazing!

Amazing and realistic. Very thorough and in-detail instructions and training for campaign play. Worth the money, especially affordable if you cant get another flight simulator like DCS.
IMHO this is the finest combat flight simulator on the IOS platform. Harkens back to classic polygon Flight sims with excellent flight dynamics. Bravo zulu devs! How about taking on A-10 Cuba next?
Best flight sim we’ve found on a phone for combat planes. We love it and the amount of playability that this sim offers. Theres so much to do in it and the missions are very challenging. Id love to see more weapons and enemies added. Im also going to keep an eye on the dev because Id love to see the same simulation for other aircraft like the f-15 or maybe even Russian fighters. Id pay for a Mig 23 or Mig 29 version.
This game is a great alternative to DCS for the people like us who cant run it and memorize the thousands of controls, this game is absolutely perfect!

Very realistic game that gives you the experience of being a pilot from takeoff to taxi, planning a sortie, flying with wingman, radioing the LSO, and ejecting out. But a couple things make it a bit frustrating. There is no real opportunity to just free fly and practice some of these things like carrier landings, weapons, maneuvers or just exploring the plane itself. Second is the lack of ability to make it realistic in terms of weather conditions. Otherwise its a fantastic and worth it as well. We hope the developer considers this feedback.
Its amazing we can get to satisfy our serious flight sim addiction on the go. Can not be more grateful. Also, what you have done for compatibility with a separate Bluetooth controller blows our mind. Please add an option for 60fps. We plug our phone to a big screen tv and the low FPS count makes it jerky. On the phone is perfect tho.
Amateurs give it low stars. It is simply the best flight sim out there.
The enemy fighter pilots arent very good at dogfighting.
Id like to see some munitions reworks and some new weapons added, I.E the Harpoon, AiM-9X etc.
This game is a great implementation of a flight sim on iPad. The campaign missions have a good variety with just a bit of puzzle to figure out.
This is pretty much like DCS. (as close as your gonna get on mobile at least) you have to arm your weapons, use iff, etc. This is for sure our favorite flight sim, heck, game on mobile. Its a must buy for flight simmers.
Any chance to bring back to modern Mac OS?
We played Graphsims F/A-18 Hornet 25 years ago on the Mac as a kid. When we saw this updated iOS version, we were afraid Id be disappointed by a watered-down lite version. To our pleasant surprise, its richer and more playable. Watch the video, its a good representation of what youll experience. Amazing job, developers. Thanks for the great game!
It really Is the best simulator on the market! Id love to see other aircraft added to the game although its specifically for f18s.
Almost exactly the same game we played on Mac as a kid. So nostalgic and we are so happy we found this! Played hundreds of hours on this in elementary and middle school and it shaped our career path. We always wanted to go to the Naval Academy to fly real Hornets.
Lots of fun, we could only wish for joystick support.
We were thrilled to find this in the iOS platform, and even more thrilled with how amazing the translation is from the original Mac version. Its a perfect port. Hornet has always been the ultimate combat flight sim: its just realistic enough and just arcade enough. The learning curve and systems wont bog down the playability of the game. It is truly the Goldilocks of combat sims – just right. And now its in our pocket! If you pair this with a Bluetooth controller, it becomes even more fun. Makes us wish for bluetooth joysticks. This is worth every penny. We cant tell you how many hours of fun we’ve gotten out of this app. Money well spent.
This simulator is as real as it gets to being and flying the aircraft. We were in the USAF for 6 years and have a lot of experience flying. This is kind of hard if you dont know the aircraft but the more you play the better pilot you will become. GodSpeed.
We’ve reviewed this simulator a couple of years ago. We are writing again to make the point that this is still the BEST iOS air combat game/sim available! The game is awesome just as it is BUT an a10 would be a pretty cool addition! And as always, some new missions would be awesome also! Thanks for an amazing game, best $10 we ever spent! (I mentioned an a10: we would have zero qualms with spending another 20 for an a10 game, as long as it was as high quality/detail oriented as this!!)
This flight sim is complicated, but easy to get the hang of once started. The campaign is very challenging, but rewarding when missions are accomplished. Where this simulator truly shines is its realistic use the f-18s various systems. This is no shoot em up arcade game, but if you want a good combat flight sim on mobile with plenty of action, then f/A-18 hornet is the game for you.
This game is really fun but it gets so blaring cause you use the same plane every time and if there was jest one or two more planes we think it would be worth ten dollars.
This one is worth it, and it is worth all of your time. If your vaguely interested in what being a fighter pilot might REALLY be like, this is the CLOSEST TO REAL LIFE YOU CAN GET ON MOBILE. We give this one a 10/10.. We only ask the developers one thing.. Please make a game about A10/F14/F22/F4U-1!! And if you wanna make this game number one on the charts add online multiplayer pvp and co operative levels and monetize ammunition(main cannon free) if you must charge for anything.. We love this game we bet anyone who tries it will too.
This is the game we spent hours playing on the Mac. Im so happy this game came to the App Store. We still think this is the BEST flight simulator. If you watch videos on the F/A 18 hornet youll realize just how realistic this game is. So much fun!
This is not an arcade game. It is a flight simulator. A very good one. It is ported from the PC game of the same title. It has nearly all the same functions as the original, as far as we can tell. One thing missing from original – you arent able to toggle or rotate through radar contacts on AA radar. Another is third person view of target. Are we going to see a TNW from FA-18 Korea, or was it Iraqi Freedom? Youll like it if you want to learn how to configure avionics to communicate with load outs for weapon specific delivery. Youll hate it if you wanna just shoot em up.

Now, this game, it is realistic VERY realistic for it being on mobile, its not your ordinary mobile flight sim or simply tilting and shooting, this mobile game consist of arming your weaponry, targeting enemies, using IFF to identify if such object is friendly or an enemy. This game is revolutionary at the least and needs more popularity in our opinion. Anyways now onto our small changes we would like to see, we would enjoy having a full cockpit, not just the dash and the tech in the front, Im talking about the seat in which youre sitting in, heck add an ejection animation in if that seems suiting, its just that the cockpit could use some love. Also, we would LOVE to see a sonic boom added into the game, add the air cone on the back of the F18 at 750 mp/h, even mute the sound at 750 mp/h because thats how it basically works, when you reach the sonic boom all sound in or around the jet just mutes in a sense because you are now outrunning sound itself, so we would LOVE to see that. Other than those two features we love this game.

This game is so realistic and we love the cockpit view. We love how you can make your own mission or do a campaign. Although can you plz make the online part bigger? You can only play with people on the same internet as you and ALSO in the online aircraft carrier attack and you are protecting the aircraft carrier then it spawns you on the water then drops you and then it repeats that over and over again plz fix that.
Add a fly-by mode and improve appearance of engine exhaust flames.
Cockpit graphics need to be improved, seats …. Everything to be perfect.
So this game is very realistic and hard but after about ten flight hours and all the flight school test it gets easy but, there are still some HUGE problems for instance there are no LRM or no long range missiles and the FLIR moves on its own which is kinda aggravating. Also the flight schools need more info and to be longer and need to have like a test at the end. Also this game has potential to be the Mobil DCS so make more planes to fly and possibly make a full cockpit interaction system. Thats all!
This is probably the only realistic air combat IOS game. But we would love to use other missles and able to use rocket pods. Like adding the AIM-7 sparrow. If possible we know it probably wouldnt make sense but we also wanna try other airplanes and be able to fly other airplanes.
In real life. Air refueling is a thing in real life. Why cant you add that in the game? We cant just go out of the air base with no fuel in the air. You can add that in longer missions. If you needed fuel, then you can just go up high in the sky and find a plane that refuel your F18.

For you young kids who are just downloading this game for the first time, just some perspective. We bought this game (the very early version of it) when we were about 11 years old in 1995 for 50 dollars of our own money. You can imagine how thrilling it is to see this classic game on the iPad after all these years. When you play this game, you need to understand that the basic graphics and the gameplay were absolutely mind blowing when this game came on a handful of floppy disks you had to install on your home computer. This game is an absolute classic. Be thankful the company were able to present it in this format, so we can all enjoy a bit of flight simulator history.
This is a reboot of a classic Mac flight sim. It was ahead of its time then. With a few updates and streamlines for iOS it makes for compelling game play on our phone now. So glad they re-released this, just with they had more missions and theaters available.

We played this game as a kid. It is amazing to see it on iPhone. Its not just about flying the aircraft but being proficient with the systems. It is the most realistic for mobile sims we have found.
