Feed the Deep is a Adventure/Action game from L MUSCAT ENTERPRISES PTY LTD, first launched in 18th June 2025.
It’s rated 9+ and currently has 247+ ratings on the App Store.

What Makes Feed the Deep Stand Out

  • A dark roguelike by the designer of Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride.
  • Procedurally generated caves make every expedition different.
  • Explore at your own pace. Dive fast and aggressive or explore slowly, dropping markers along the way.
  • Soundtrack by award-winning composer Cedar Jones (Jetpack Joyride and more).
  • An atmospheric deep sea adventure with lovecraftian vibes.

When they built the floating cities, they had no idea an insidious threat lurked deep below…

Feed the Deep is a compulsive lovecraftian roguelike inspired by the likes of Dome Keeper and Spelunky. Dive into an ever-changing system of undersea caves. Collect resources that can be traded for upgrades and items. Explore ever deeper, managing dark spaces, limited oxygen, and hostile wildlife, and complete your mission to Feed the Deep.

Feed the Deep was built almost entirely by me, Luke Muscat. Back in the Old Times I was creator of Jetpack Joyride and Fruit Ninja. A couple of years ago I decided I wanted to try the ultimate game dev challenge and make a game completely solo.

This Adventure game offers engaging gameplay and regular updates for mobile players.

Community Insight:

Fun game its just that there is moving monsters that look like they should not be moving.

Feed the Deep has quickly become one of our favorite iOS games this year. The atmosphere grabs you right away: the glowing underwater world, the mysterious soundtrack, and the smooth animations all create a perfect mix of calm and excitement. The gameplay is incredibly satisfying. It starts simple, but theres a lot of strategy behind each dive. Managing your upgrades, choosing when to push deeper, and navigating the dangers of the ocean floor keeps every run fresh and addictive. The progression feels fair, the controls are responsive, and unlocking new areas and creatures is always rewarding. One thing we really appreciate is how the game encourages exploration instead of rushing, making it great for both short sessions and long playthroughs. We find ourselves coming back over and over again. If we could ask for anything, it would be more levels, more maps, and continued expansion. The world is so fun to explore that it would be amazing to see even more environments and challenges added over time.

Not a tower defense. Loved the free trial and will recommend to others.

As someone who played the full game so worth it honestly wish there was more levels but now we can go back with every thing we know an do better we dont like theres people reviewing about the game being boring when they didnt play full version 7$ isnt that bad.

We could play this game for hours, but the problem you have to pay Other than that amazing beautiful game.

Es un juego muy bueno para aprender a bucear en cuevas.

Ive just played the game and its really nice. The music is cool and the game feels great to play. Ive gotta say we prefer the play before you pay when it is like a demo for the game. Its way better than just having the entire game with ads and having to purchase no ads. Hope it gets updates and the creator doesnt push himself to do it.

The music in this game smacks. Deep sea games are always pretty good. Kinda reminds us of subnatica just in 2d. We see why people dont like this game bc you have to pay 7$ but its actually really fun. Also bc this is a steam port game so. But if anyones reading this we would for sure buy it. 5/5.

Very creative in design and function. From shadows cast to silt clouding the view.

Great game but maps are so small that it makes most of the items useless.

We like it; just finished the demo, and it's a fun little game. Disagree with another review that said there was no urgency — the decreasing air gauge at the top was a constant reminder! Upgrades are a must. Got really tired of wandering and repeating the same tunnels, though. The compass helps, but dragging along with just slows you up. Really needs an in-game map (revealing as you go).

The is fun we Finish lv1 but we need to buy the full game im give 4 stars of hey make the full game for free im giving it 5 stars.

This game is very relaxing although very hard. Our only suggestion would be to when you run out of oxygen. You get to start over with your life/progress, not count down three seconds. Thats just a waste so it makes no sense. We played it many times just to reach the end. We are enjoying it. Its just its just a little too hard with not being able to have an actual three lives/ chances and start over again.

We can use the Backbone even without the full support Im referring to. But with that support it also allows the game to be added easily to the row of games we have. As of now we cannot do that.

Didnt really try it. Apple pen support pls.

Happy to see more developers lately opting for one time ad-free purchases. The game is fun.

You get 1 area for free, and unlock 5 more for $7. Each area gets increasingly more difficult and has unique challenges you can try to accomplish for replayability. The core gameplay loop is simple dive into an area, get upgrades, then dive deeper. Sounds simple, but it fits well on mobile and is great for short sessions if you enjoy playing that way.

This game seems fun just from the demo and we are considering buying it.

Games being try before you buy is fine so we personally dont think that this is a bad thing great game.

Cool game but expensive for a mobile game. $7 is a lot should be FREE just like Jetpack Joyride.

Great game that turns out is perfect for mobile. Amazing. Super fun and satisfying gameplay loop.

Feed the Deep uses the old philosophy of app design: focus on player fun and not their wallet! Really happy to see a phone version of this game! Very fun gameplay loop that scratches the just a little more itch.

Ive been following the game development for a while now and am super excited that we can actually play it, it is $7 but that makes sense since its a steam port and there are no ads. In conclusion great game will be buying the whole thing.

Even just playing the free preview, such a fun game and fun little adventure.

Did the one time purchase however our only issue is without an internet connection it wont acknowledge we bought the full game. Which is annoying since we bought it for its offline playability.

Loved the free trial, but was very disappointed to find out the full game cost 7 dollars.

Only reason Im giving it a 4 start rating is the full game is 7$.

For being a rouge like, the game felt boring. (we only played the free version.) Im not a game designer, but this game seems to have good potential. We have 2 recommendations in to possibly improve it. First the game has doesnt have a sense of urgency. We can play it safe and collect one resource at a time, meticulously scouting the cave. Id recommend a food bar that forces players to keep trying to get resources. Also the shoot monsters mechanic ruins suspense in the game. With the auto aim feature, Im never surprised by anything in the deep. Maybe add a joystick.

The price is very high for a mobile game. Also the camera flipping whenever you take damage is a bad design since it makes it significantly harder to return home. It feels like getting hit once means you have a 90% chance to die and have to start the whole game over. Not well designed and half the time the shoot button doesnt work even when Im holding it for some reason.
