Love the game so far. Its very relaxing.
We had started the game a hour or so ago & we were now able to use flowers & we were stupid enough to not follow the step to put a 100% common & put a 100% uncommon flower & then we used them. For some reason we thought that the instructions would go away & they didnt go away so we had to delete the game. The reason we did this was because we fought that the game was a free to play game, or a game that you didnt have to follow the instructions. This game is very beautiful, and the fact that the species are real is really cool. The flutterpedia is very interesting and we enjoy how there are more than just butterfly species in the game, we absolutely love the bumblebee! However, the purposeful slowed progression always makes us delete this game and starlight after a month or so. Im glad the fuse and the 30 second pollen shift is free, but we think it would be more fair if the 10 minute shift would be shaved down to 5 minutes maybe? Plus, the missions are a cool mechanic, but can be pretty boring waiting for your bug to come back, maybe playing a mini game that speeds up the mission could help pass the time. Other than that, really cool game, unlike any other game we’ve seen on App Store. Glad to know there are developers who love insect as much as we do! We hope to see a beetle sanctuary game some day ; >
Man we have long ways to go from complete ok.
In starlight you can expand way more for less, whereas in flutter we expanded like 5 times and our next upgrade is in the 4,000s. In starlight we’ve upgraded so much more and am not even past the 2,000s yet, like what? Doesnt make no sense to us. We also dont like how you have to pay so much for one expand on both games, its just annoying.
Thoroughly enjoyable, beautiful and relaxing. The graphics are amazing and the music. We could listen and never get tired of it. Highly recommend.

Hello, game makers. Absolutely loving flutter right now, but the current special event is not working right. Gracys garden keeps starting over every time we open the app. Which is a bummer because we would really love to get those past event butterflies. Please help.
Its a fun game that allows you to relax and enjoy the slower pace.
We played this as a kid but stopped because our iPad got to old and the Os was no longer supported and having revisited it after about 10 years if it aint broke dont fix it. The art style is the same and its just super nice and calming. Half joking title aside, the only reason Sanctuary is a 4 instead of a 5 is because Starlight is literally the same game (except its moths) but just better graphically by the smallest margin. Biggest thing for us is Starlight’s background has more contrast with blues, greens, and purples and being easier on the eyes as well while Sanctuary is all green. Its literally the same thing but just very small tweaks (ie, sparkles vs soft line when directing the moth/butterfly) makes the difference between the two and why Starlight has twice the amount of reviews over Sanctuary. People just love dark mode. We know we do. (That or moths are more popular but we cant say that with certainty.) Nostalgia keeps us tied to this game, otherwise we would just play Starlight. Seriously, it kinda strains our eyes lol.
Collecting the butterflies is fun and its cool that theyre all real species, and the attraction flowers are a neat gimmick to ensure the player can attract the butterfly they want. The garden event is fair and can be completed 100% if the player really dedicates themselves. The only complaint we have is with the absurd cost of honeydew it takes to expand the forest. We would recommend lowering the cost significantly to make the game more fair so that the players can expand the forest with more ease to have enough room to collect all the butterflies. Eventually the cost will become too great and the player will have to pass up on limited event butterflies because theyll run out of room in the forest, or sell ones theyve worked hard to fully level. Having to put them in storage kind of defeats the purpose of collecting them if they cant be on display for the player to see. Please consider making the expansion process more fair so that everyone can better enjoy the game.
Love the game but every time theres a garden event and we get off the game when we get back on the event starts over and we lose our progress its pretty frustrating.
In the most recent garden event, the game keeps glitching and restarting our progress every time we open it. We enjoy this game but we cant keep playing it if it is impossible for us to get event butterflies. We start at the first gift, and the garden event is now over pop up comes up every time as well. Im also now at 7 fertiliser because for some reason it just adds more every time we open as well but with no seeds its pointless?
The app will not open. Just crashes.
Every time we play flutter & splash & starlight we have to go to connect and click on Game Center and apple to save our games we had these games once before and lost all 3 of them and now we have to start all over and rebuying everything that we had once before because we lost our my Apple ID And now it wont save any of these 3 games in the Game Center and apple all the time going to settings And clicking on Game Center and apple to connect Splash Flutter Starlight Every time we play it will not stay on saved.
Good game but a lot of stuff is going wrong with it so fast like we just got on there and the bug seems to be worse then before like now its not keeping our progress. The event is going on but no one can play it because there is no progress being saved in the game. We think im just gonna uninstall it for now, but yeah hope this helps.
We’ve played this game for a little bit it gets really costly and takes forever. We were patient, but during the garden event, we finished it and didnt get the butterfly at the end. We messaged support. They told us to lay another egg for 250 flutterbucks if you play this game, you know flutterbucks cost real money. Thats why we play the events, to get the cool butterflies without paying because thats a lot for a game Ill have to go ahead and delete it. We’ve had too many pet peeves about this game, but that was the last one.
We keep getting kicked out of our flutter on top of it since last night we do the garden event go back to it and it makes us start over again! We are beyond annoyed as this has never happened but lately there are too many glitches with this game.

Idk why but this game is VERY ADDICTING like in a good way! We love how there is no ads, gives free flutterbucks on holidays (probably), and the butterflys! They are so cute!! When you hatch the caterpillar its so adorable! We wish we could give it 1 million stars.

The only ads that appear are the ones that you said you wanted to watch so that you get free stuff. Very very fun! Although, there is one thing. For the adds that DO happen, some of them are pretty bad. Like simulations of dating apps, and sniper shooter games, and we think any one who plays a game where you raise butterflies are not/would not be interested in shooting people. There probably are some out there, but HOPEFULLY not that many. Anyway, yea! Amazing game! Not a speed-run-able game, but very good! Relaxing music, cute characters, all-around great game!! There are multiple games similar to this one by the same creator. All of them are awesome starlight has another version but with butterflies and again ALL THE GAMES ARE AWSOME(but we havent expirenced the bugs other people have)Also if you like this game try games made by runaway its the same person/creator there are AMAZING games that are waiting for you to play!(make sure you check the the creator instead of just searching runaway!). =)
We really like this game but we keep having small problems. The most resent being that the ads for the bee events and the snail have been the same ad and it keeps freezing the whole game. The ad doesnt play so we dont get any of the rewards from it and we have to close the app to even get out of the ad and back to the game. We tried to contacting customer support and received and automated message saying they have fixed all of the ad problems and any messages we send regarding a video will be met with the same automated message. So not only do we have this problem, if we mention it Im not able to get in contact with anyone to help. Not helpful at all and Im very disappointed considering how helpful this company has been in other games we’ve played from them.
This game was very fun and relaxing. Until it completely reset. Everything is gone. We had our Apple ID, and Game Center attached, but no matter how many times we try to sign into either it says You have singed out of Apple ID services or You have singed out of Game Center services. Im pretty upset about this.
Game was fun and interesting. A bit over whelming sometimes. Liked the facts and learning part of the game. But the ads for other games kept becoming more inappropriate. If this is a childs game, there should never be any of those ads.

Absolutely top notch. Our whole family plays and we all love it. The only critique that we have is that Im mildly colorblind and we have issues seeing some of the butterflies against the background, but we still genuinely enjoy the game. Highest praise to the development team.
A lot of grinding in the beginning stages, but thats ok. Plus the caterpillars are so cute when they squeak!
We’ve enjoyed this game for a while. Its beautiful and fun to collect butterflies. The issue now is that we’ve completed all the missions and goals. Other than garden events, theres nothing left for us to collect or do. Most of our butterfly abilities are now useless because we have no need to collect honeydew, gifts, leaf bugs, etc. We no longer need to feed the frog or send butterflies on the kingfisher missions because we’ve completed them. Since we just get garden event eggs, its easy to feed and raise those butterflies quickly. Unfortunately, theres no longer any challenge to keep us interested. It would be great if you added more functionality or additional missions/goals to keep people playing. It seems odd for a game like this to run out of options so quickly.
We’ve been playing this game and loved it. Had many hours on this game and woke to see all our efforts are lost! Was connected to Facebook and Game Center and cant find where to get our game data back??? Said there was a new data update clicked the check mark and just like that wants us to start over completely. In Game Center we can see all our achievements but no where to get them all back! Totally heart broken and upset.

After playing these games where we collect moths and butterflies, I’d really like to see more games exactly like this from the developer where you collect more niche animals, like for example nudibranchs (seaslugs) which are super interesting and have such a huge variety of colors, shapes, textures, etc. They’re super cute and after seeing the artstyle and nature of these games we think this kind of game/artstyle would be perfect for that kind of thing. Please make more games like this, dedicated to collecting a niche, unique animal like moths or butterflies.
Hi! We know we’ve written a review on starlight and we still love butterflies! Moths will always have a special place in our heart . We love this game too and some suggestions for this game and starlight too would be.. 1. Naming Once you get a butterfly you can name it! So cute! 2. Relationships with bugs! Being able to play and feed butterflies would be awesome! We would also love to see them climb and move on their own. 3. Friends You can go on a player search list and friend other players! You can write to them with a digital note and visit their garden! 4. Vet You can help injured butterflies and rescue wild ones! Wouldnt that be cool? In conclusion this is a great game and so is starlight. We hope to see these features added to Both flutter and starlight!
All of the Runaway developed games are so beautiful and fun. They are very easy to play and advance. There are optional tasks/video ads that can help you advance faster, without it being required. Its a great balance. The games alone are very educational and informative as you play through and catalog the different moths, butterflies, fish. (Starlight, Flutter, Splash)I recommend trying all of their games, including Furistas. Very addicting and calming to interact with. Thank You for making these games. The development and support team are amazing!
We played Flutter on Facebook and was so sad when it left that platform. They gave us plenty of warning but it was sad to see such an enjoyable game go. Little did we know we would rediscover it here. Just as lovely as we remember.
