DESCRIPTION

A sci-fi noir adventure in the tradition of "Blade Runner" and "Beneath a Steel Sky."

Azriel Odin, ex-assassin, arrives on the rain-drenched planet of Barracus. When things go horribly wrong, he can only seek help from the very criminals he used to work for.

Meanwhile, across the galaxy, a man called Delta-Six wakes up in a hospital with no memory. Without knowing where to turn or who to trust, he vows to escape before he loses his identity completely.

As fate brings these two closer together, we discover a world where life is cheap, identities are bought and sold, and a quest for redemption can change the fate of a whole galaxy.

Find out what gamers are saying about Gemini Rue:

This game has everything an adventure gamer could want. Dystopian game theme. Great puzzles. Awesome voiceovers that lend to the concept of the game. Everything fits in, the music, screen movements, and backgrounds and the way it play. If this game came out in the 90s, it would have cost $60. This is a steal for al the game play and great storyline. Played and auto saved perfectly on our iPhone 6s. Kudos to the developer.

Taking Sierra and Lucasarts style games, the best imo, into the modern era. We love all your works and can’t wait for Shard as well as perhaps Technobabylon on iOS?!

Pros: -Amazing, engrossing story. -Logical puzzles offer some challenge, but med difficulty keeps the action going. -Top notch voice acting. -Amazing art direction, an entire world is created even with limited locations. -Gun battles expand what is expected of an action game. The ability to die ups the stakes. -The ability to tap the screen to see active objects saves you from the old Action game trope of trying to pick up everything. Cons: -Having to open doors repeatedly with a keycard or optical scan became tiresome. We get it. Make it automatic after the first instance. -Hyper linear. For a story with many potential twists and turns, it was a little disappointing not to find multiple endings. Dialogue would hint at different possible outcomes without delivering. -Occasionally when another character is accompanying you they can trap you in a corner and you can’t get out. Save your progress often so this doesn’t happen. Overall: Amazing game that should be the beginning of a franchise. Play it. Great for Adventure Game addicts and newbies alike.

A bleak environment, curmudgeon detective, gun fights, clues 2 B discovered and deciphered; with a film-noir feel. If ones a fan of point-and-click interactives, add this to your collection.

The second you boot up the game and see the main menu, you know this is going to be good. The art and sound combine to create a dreariness that is simply amazing on a mobile platform. The mechanics are smooth and uncomplicated, the puzzles are tough yet not impossible without a walkthrough, and the story is incredible. We know we’re late to the game on this one, but if you get the chance, this game is not one to miss. This is an experience you need to have.

This game is a steal for the quality of product you are given for what is basically nothing (in the gaming world). Great characters, setting and the storyline is top notch. This is a game that is fun to play and entirely satisfying. Old school style done perfectly. Don’t miss this one.

We were unsure of buying this game based on the look of it, but after playing and beating it we wish we had bought it sooner. The story is amazing! It’s like being part of a great movie. Definitely worth it! Some parts are a little tricky and we had to look them up but still worth 5 stars!

This company releases some of the best ios retro-style adventure games in terms of quality and production. Having played several of their other titles including Blackwell legacy and Shardlight,This was the best one so far. It really stuck with the town and the protagonist/sSeem to be a lot more passionate than in the other titles we described. We still need to play their other games, but from everything these guys put out that we have played so far this is the most solid title. Its definitely for fans of blade runner but its not derivative in its story. We might try some other games from this company due to how much we enjoyed this title, hopefully they continue to preserve adventure games with interesting protagonists rather than the jaded lifeless characters you play in Blackwell and Shardlight.

We really loved this game. Technobabylon is even better than this if this point and click game style is to your liking, in our opinion of course!! But Gemini Rue is well worth your time and money!

This game is absolutely perfect, especially in terms of the story. It becomes more and more interesting as one goes.

Really enjoy the wadjet-eye click adventures. This is the one that got us hooked. Thanks for a thoughtful game with some depth.

We love the story!!! Totally worth the money.

If you are a fan of the point-and-click adventures from the 90’s and early 00’s, this game is for you. A real ‘Full Throttle’ experience. You won’t regret the purchase!

This game is a work of literary brilliance. It digs deep into the what, when, and how it is to be human. As brilliant as Blade Runner, but playable. What online gaming fiction should be. A must play? A must play… And read.

Anyone who grew up adoring 90’s adventure games should do themselves a favor and play Gemini Rue. The story, puzzles, and art were all phenomenally well crafted, and we couldn’t put it down until beating the thing in its entirety. Just sad it’s over…

Game reminded us of Flashback from Sega Genesis. Great story with good puzzles. It combines a detective genre with a space genre effectively.

This is the best dramatic detective game we’ve ever played. Some parts are tricky and can bring you to the edge of frustration, but it’s SO worth figuring things out instead of using a cheat sheet. Excellent! And a great length; well worth the money. More! :)

Pretty fun. Had a happy week with this.

This game is great. We loved the Silent Age, Bik, and the Broken Sword series. We only had to look at a walkthrough once and the length of the game was appropriate for price point. Voice acting was good and the plot was awesome. We’re glad we finally bought it. Finished it today.

What a treat! The best adventure game we’ve played in years, richly detailed, dark, engrossing atmosphere, memorable characters, a plot worthy of great classic film noir, with a clever twist near the end. We finished the game a week ago, and the story is still haunting our thoughts.

Awesome game. It’s so unpredictable and we loved the story. It has an atmosphere that reminds us to Blade Runner. Congratulations and thanks for the game.

Completely engrossing. We really enjoyed it. Bravo!

This game is AMAZING. We love and have been a fan of "point & click" adventure games from way back. But having never played one on the iPad before, we were a little weary. As another reviewer said, we wish we had taken a chance on this game a long time ago. Not only did it live up to expectations, it blew them out of the water. The art, story and gameplay are absolutely top notch. If you grew up on Sierra games, Gemini Rue is a dream come true. It definitely has a similar vibe and feel but is also a creation all it’s own. Can’t tell you how much we love, that not only are people still creating these types of games, but that they are still doing it with pixel art! The artwork is beautiful, detailed and does such a fantastic job of setting the scene. And for those of us who grew up on old school adventure games, the visuals here are truly a step back in time. The true star of this game though, is the story. We don’t know how long it’s been since we’ve played a game where the story line blew us away. Just when you think you’ve seen all there is to see in sci-fi, this game comes along with something new and fresh and thought provoking. There aren’t too many games that kept us thinking about the story well after they were completed. But this was one of them. All-in-all, just an amazingly well made game. And such a fun experience playing it. It took us a little bit to get into it, but once we did, we were hooked. You get sucked into this bleak, dystopian, world quickly. And by the end, you won’t want to leave. And now we want more. We’re clamoring for more old school adventure. But we just can’t pull the trigger on any of the similar titles in the App Store. We feel like we’ve already experienced the best and that the others would be a let-down in comparison, haha. We can only hope Wadjet Eye makes more titles like this. I’d kill for a sequel or something new in the same vein. It was truly a pleasure playing this game. Thank you Wadjet Eye!

One of the best puzzle/adventure games we’ve ever played.. You really need to pay attention to conversations and details.. Interesting story line.. Cant wait for the new one..

We loved this game. The only thing is, at certain points there are things you have to do. There is nothing to help you when you get stuck or confused. We found a youtube video that helped us pass those points. Hope they make another one.

One of the best adventure games we have ever played. There were times that we were stuck and would put away our phone and when we come back we would figure out what to do. We thought it wasn’t that difficult but not that easy either. If you’ve got common sense and have played these kind of games before it’ll be a treat. Excellent story with a nice twist and great voice acting.

Game in the App Store to date. Still haven’t found anything that beats it. Some have come close (maybe even tied) but it doesn’t get better than this.

If youre into old school point and click adventure games, then this game is pure gaming bliss. Great characters and deep, rich storytelling, all of which is steeped in a rich atmosphere.

We guess we never played PC games, but am now discovering them on the IPAD. A thoroughly enjoyable game, with a rich storyline and believable characters. Puzzles were fun and just enough, but not too much, fighting. Highly recommended!

Point and click game with a sci fi detective mystery meets 1984 plot… Graphics are way outdated but doesn’t affect the experience.. One of the best games you can get on your phone.. No iap either.. Wish the creator made more games like this..

We really had no idea what to expect, we bought the game based on it supposedly being a good sci-fi adventure. Well, thank you for the recommendation, it was just that! What an unexpected surprise, something that actually fit the reviews and suggestions! Clearly, we personally loved the game, but if you’re not sure whether or not to get it, here’s a brief description… It starts off with no explanation of anything, which is great because that’s the whole point of the game, figuring out the story as it goes along. It was like playing a movie that you are watching at the same time. But just so you know, it’s a pixelated game, we guess it was an older game converted to iOS. But we personally like this look… Just realistic enough without looking weird. And the motions usually take more than one action to do tasks, which can occasionally get tedious when you’re just opening doors, but that’s really not an issue when that is how you problem-solve situations and literally figure the game out. Overall, really cool game with a great story. And a nice touch hearing Giancarlo Esposito do one of the voice-overs! Update: Giancarlo is not credited for the game… But it sure sounds like him!

If you like detective novels, you will love this game. If you don’t, you will still love this game! It’s not perfect, there can be some repetitive tapping, and gunfights aren’t ideal, but you become so engrossed in the story that you don’t even care.

Excellent story and game mechanics.

Very detailed game. The voice overs are great.

The thinking’s man game. The story is completely engrossing. The narration immerses you and the game itself is non-linear. Do yourself a favor and don’t cheat! You’ll be sorry when the game is over and then feel bored with every other iOS game u come across. We wish for a Gemini 2 with expanded story, characters and game scope. Simply awesome.

So we love the graphics and attention to detail in the locations. The voices can be a bit strange though and what removes a star is that there are small black bars on the edges of the screen when we play the game on our iPhone 6 Plus just as a heads-up. We like the game so far, the setting and characters appear interesting. We’re not very far into the game but although we’ve had issues knowing what to do at first, it’s a neat game worth a shot. The developer worked hard on this game and it shows. It could just use minor improvements in a future update to get rid of the black bars (optimize for larger phones), and fix any bugs it may have.

We love Wadjet Eye Games, especially the Blackwell series. This is another high-quality title, but we just couldnt finish it. Interacting with the world is needlessly tedious… Why do we have to use our eyes on the scanner every single time we open a door? The action scenes tried to be innovative, but to us they feel out of place in an adventure game. And the story moves slowly and doesnt keep us in suspense. We can see why other people would like this game, but its not for us. Id recommend playing Blackwell first.

Good: Great in game pixel art Interesting story Only had to look up one puzzle solution (the typical zany logic expected in the genre) Mediocre: Highly linear puzzle solving Portrait art Voice acting Bad: Dialogue trees almost always have the same outcome Gun fights. A horrid inclusion to the game. Weak UI and controls In game character eyes. Everyone looks like they wear the same exact eye visor. Very annoying to see cyclops characters with monochrome eyes that dont match portrait art.

We love the world building here and just about all the scenes on barracus were fun, but the scenes in sector 7 (I think thats what it was called) got old after a while. We get you are trying to make the user feel trapped like the character by making us walk through multiple doors, but sometimes it just felt downright tedious. We also think the game could have used a bit more humor and the ending was ok-ish just felt kind of flat. We would play a sequel though. There were definitely some amazing things about the title. Blade runner ish and even some cowboy beebop flavor too, it just feels like its missing something.

We have gotten to the second scene of the Azriel Arc and completed the first scene of the Delta-6 Arc. And we are bored. We have not found a reason to care about either of the POV characters. Its obvious that someone cared a whole lot more about ensuring that armed combat was as true to life as possible than they did about user experience. The result is that everything gunfight is a slogfest that demands attention and adds difficulty without giving a payoff in terms of plot advancement. We do not want to spend 5-10 minutes reloading a gun, and waiting for the right moment to fire just so that we can get to the next locked-room puzzle. Normally we would wait until we have played through at least once before reviewing, but we just cant see myself picking it back up again.

This game was extremely linear and repetitive. Got bored with it about halfway through and just wanted it to be over. Just a really amateurishly put together game overall.

We found this to be disappointing compared to the Blackwell series and Shardlight. Visually less interesting and too much gun play required. Not a true point and click adventure. Character illustrations used in dialogue scenes leave a lot to be desired. Deleted without finishing the game.

Not what we expected. Bought it based off reviews comparing it to Facility47 but this game is nothing like it.

This game makes no sense to us, worst graphic, no one would love this game, we guess this 5 stars are not real , not worth buying.

Game is complete garbage , you can’t even use a walk through because there isn’t a way to open the inventory which you should be able to do . It just makes everything dumb and confusing .

What should have happened: 1)Put out an update that opens original save files and saves in the new format. 2) release new version a month or so later. What actually happens: 1) release new update that doesn’t open old save files as a feature. Trust destroyed…. :(

Awful to look at!! Wish we hadn’t bought it.

Its impossible to look at, its so pixalated. Absolutely stupid.
