We have been playing your games for years and they get better and better. Really enjoying. Key West Jessa.

Im playing on our iPad & there is a lot of wasted space with the red area at bottom. Would be better without that.

Despite all the negative reviews, we happened to enjoy this game. We personally, did not experience any of the problems that other reviewers mentioned. The graphics were good, enjoyed the different tasks and the voiceovers. The hidden object scenes were different in variety (some being very simplistic, and others interactive. We have no regret purchasing this game and think it is definitely worth playing – especially at the sale price! Different strokes for different folks as the old saying goes. Happy Gaming Everyone and hope some fellow gamers have a positive experience as well. KdBoots.

So, we were enjoying the game, by the time we got to the bonus game we had troubles with the safe & the last objective, finding the shapes to complete the picture in the center. Safe-the dial is too small to operate the mini game properly. It also may be a tad too touchy, but we cant tell due to issue #1. Object-the object used to find the shapes at the very end of the game is way too small to be able to see any of the shapes that Im looking for. We had to skip both. In case you want to know what Im using to play, Im on an iPad. We believe its the most recent one available. Our software is up to date. Most everything else was great.

Update: Forgot to mention-if you dont like rats, avoid this one. Creepy one on opening page, and a HUGE one in the bonus. UGH ! Improvement over the last AMAX offering. A couple of observations – the map does not indicate where available actions are located, only shows objectives. Not helpful! Also, the touch is awkward. Game play is straightforward, so we will leave our rating at a 3.

Way to short, puzzles were to easy.

We really liked this game – cool story plot (though that evil dwarf character is so annoying and not scary). Everything worked well until he bonus game. Dragging the right items in the HOs failed (frustrating) but we just gave up and deleted it when there was no puzzle skip on a puzzle we didn’t feel like doing.

Well folks we think the game developers are joining many of the grocery products we are now offered. Have not raised prices but offer less product. Much shorter games than previously. Think toilet paper (less paper per roll). We think this is our new normal. This particular game is so so for fun of play. We are entertained enough to last until Thursday. Crossing fingers we are offered a new game then.

UPDATE: This may be the shortest game we’ve ever played, with approximately 2.5 hours of gameplay in the main portion. Both the pros and cons from the trial continue. We did enjoy the minigames that involved assembly of items and creation of potions. But at least one minigame (placing tiles in the right order) was unsolvable, since tiles other than the one you selected moved, and movement did not match the directional arrows provided. AMAX Interactive also repeated the ridiculous "trace the line" game from earlier apps. Word list HOPs were particularly annoying, because you can barely see which items have been lined out because they were found. There are plain stupid errors throughout that would have been found in decent QA and beta testing. We may not even try the next game from AMAX Interactive. There are better games that we can buy right now. Our rating is 2.5, rounded up to 3.0 for the successfully creepy interactive environment. We don’t recommend purchasing unless you are really bored and have cash to blow. Looking for an amusing, lengthy point and click adventure game? Try Edna and Harvey: The Breakout ($4.99 when we played) or Kelvin and the Infamous Machine ($1.99). INITIAL REVIEW OF TRIAL: Wow, that is a short trial period. The game literally breaks off mid-monologue to demand purchase. Which we reluctantly did… Here’s why. Cons: our heart sunk when we saw it is yet another game from AMAX Interactive, the developer behind the deeply flawed PuppetShow: Arrogance Effect. Some of the same issues are present in this game, including a giant border that consumes more than 1/4 of the screen. Again, the icons, inventory and instructions contained in the border are so small that you can barely read them. The unreadable theme continues with the bright chartreuse text used in the notes you find in the game. And take time to read the notes: there are many, but the game doesn’t keep them available in a journal. The map enables teleportation, but it doesn’t indicate where actions are needed or where there are still collectibles. Figuring out what to do next is made even more challenging by the game’s retention of mini-scenes you’ve already completed (the industry standard is to close them for the player). We don’t expect to be wowed by the minigames. The only one in the trial involved moving gems to the right colored spot. There are only ten puzzles in the whole game, which disappoints us because we prefer them to HOPs. Of course, the length of the entire game is suspect, especially since there are only 25 scenes. When we finish, we will update our review with the length of gameplay. Pros: we’re glad there are some to report! We thought the voiceovers and soundtrack were well done. The graphics and cut scenes are a horror show in the right way, including some effective jump scares. :-D In the one HOP, you look for objects based on silhouette and have to use some items to find others. There are also interactive objects in each scene, which reinforces the truly creepy ambience. Difficulty is customizable. There are two collectibles: seals that you collect and use in gameplay, and fire gems that allow you to restore the house. One big plus is that the sensitivity is MUCH better than Arrogance Effect. You aren’t constantly bounced out of puzzles, and it’s easier to select items and actions. We are taking a $3.99 gamble. We like this series (which still features our favorite dwarf) and we have hope. If you are also an HOAG horror fan, you may want to try this too.

This game would be great but are you KIDDING we paid $7 for it and we finished it in 2 hours. Not worth the money. If big fish put some effort in instead of phoning it in Id be happy to pay to play. Give us longer stories and more challenges please.

We had problems with putting the moon together in the hop. Then it finally left us finish, then we got to the church and cant get passed the dwarf. Its frozen. We were enjoying the game. Easy and fun. We dont want to reinstall and start over, afraid it will do the same thing. Would have give more stars if we could have finished the game.

Would probably enjoy the game if we could read the microscopic writing and teeny, tiny, task bar!

We like the game but items are extremely hard to pick up to use in the game.

We’ve noticed games are getting much shorter. Trials are extremely short. Previous games were at least 8 chapters, even 9 or 10 sometimes. So….. We are giving only 2 or 3 stars, and moving on to other publishers.

AMAX has now ruined 2 of our favorite series – first Puppetshow and now Haunted Legends. Why in the heck is the bottom third of the screen blocked by an oversized red banner?? The inventory only uses a tiny portion of the blocked area so WTH??? Dialogue is microscopic, when using inventory you end up hitting the iPad taskbar menu from the bottom. And if you want to set your difficulty you actually have to start the game, hit menu, difficulty and change. Not that you have any options anyway! And 30 scenes? Really? Everything you hated about the way they butchered Puppetshow is in this one too! And forget profiles. If someone else wants to play you have to erase the game and start over. Old, dated, crappy and frustrating.

We know it takes an effort to create a game, but we cannot recommend this one for multiple reasons. It has a very "dated" feel to it; the inventory area has unused space which takes away from the scenes; there are spelling and grammatical errors: words omitted from written sentences, last name spelled as "Mallory" and "Malory;" buttons to access Collection and Achievements are extremely small. We get the feeling that this was either rushed to get published, resulting in sloppiness, or a much older game that was never published and somehow "dusted off." The free trial is extremely short, but more than enough to tell the game play is unsatisfying.

We seriously want the Bunny (ERS) back! We are so disappointed of having another favorite series of games ruined by AMAX. We will say this one had potential as far as plot. But it went downhill from there. It was way to short and had errors. We use to look forward when we saw games previous produced by ERS but now we after getting burned by AMAX on our favorite games we wonder what will they screw up this time!

NOTE TO CATALINA: Hello, our friend. Today we received a newsletter from Five BN Uk, and supposedly there was a new release from them that we could play using iOS and it could be found on the BigFish game finder app or in the App Store. We couldnt find it anywhere. Its supposed to be a new installment in the Lost Lands series. We know you have corresponded with this developer and we were wondering if you know whats happening here. It was frustrating not to be able to find this game. We are sure many gamers would appreciate the information. Thank you so much! Note to Dracyy, Drosietwo and Corntiques: all of you were correct and spot on in your reviews. Its nice to know there are other gamers who find rats revolting! Thanks for the heads-up. Our question to all of you then becomes: will this developer ever make the improvements to the interface as well as address all of the glitches? We would bet not, but the worst part is that BigFish keeps bringing us games from them. Two were inflicted upon us in the course of a week! Although this game was a slight improvement over the last disaster developed by AMAX Interactive, it was at best an average game. The developer did not give us enough bells and whistles (instantaneous transport, unusual HO scenes and puzzles, a great gameplay interface) and this game seemed extremely dated. The storyline was identical to all others in this series: defeat the nasty dwarf Saint-Germain, who is stealing souls in his relentless quest for immortality. The graphics were terrific. You could customize settings. The teleport map provided slightly delayed transportation between locations. It also had objectives marked, rather than tasks, which we detest, because we want to teleport to a location with something to accomplish. You could collect coins at each location to decorate a haunted house; however we gave up on that because we were not finding coins of different denominations. Inventory was labeled and interactive and there were complex items to assemble. The gimmick was a box for which you must acquire 12 seals; this was necessary to do in order to progress through this game. The gameplay interface was not as tight as in PuppetShow, and we wasnt constantly back tapping to other locations. AMAX could have lowered it another inch, right above the inventory bar and it would have been preferable. Still, there were touch screen sensitivity issues at play. We had to tap extremely hard to acquire inventory tools and also during the HO scenes. The HO scenes were revisited but at least there was variation. Inventory usage was difficult at times because objects were so tiny. The puzzles and games were mostly simplistic and unoriginal; a few were thought provoking. The puzzles included mostly rotational types, some of skill and dexterity, some codes. The game was an average length inclusive of the bonus adventure. We would like this developer to start reading our reviews and making the necessary changes so that we might rate their games higher than one or two stars. We rounded down our original review because the game was very glitchy! UPDATE: There is a new game due out in two weeks from Artifex Mundi. It is available for pre-order on the App Store. We do not suggest you pre-order because the finished product might differ from the description given by the developer. Wait until its released. Its not like there are limited quantities, lol! At least the genre will be crime, which will be a welcome respite from the usual themes of horror, fantasy and even mythology. Happy gaming everyone!

We only played the free demo. We are so glad that we did not purchase this game. The only positive is a fast refresh rate (5 seconds). Negatives: 1. The bottom one-third of the screen is unusable. It has a red background. Because the usable screen area is drastically reduced, everything is MINUSCULE – inventory items (not labeled), buttons are clustered on the bottom right-hand side (map, collectibles, achievements, etc.). 2. TOUCH SENSITIVITY issues when playing HOPs (I only played one game). 3. TEXT is written in CHARTREUSE (difficult to read). 4. Interactive map is useless. Does not show hidden collectibles or other actions, just flashes available locations. 5. Does not indicate what collectibles to find (no button on the bottom or illustrated on the map). This game is on a par with the latest puppet game!! NOT RECOMMENDED!

Trying to play but it keeps freezing up and kicking us out of the game.

They have not released a legit new game in a year!

Big Fish Games should be ashamed for bringing this to iOS in such a lazy fashion. The massive blank area of nothing is ridiculous. This is just a money grab which Ill happily not be a part of. Ill keep our $4 and maybe the next one wont be a joke.
