A New Chapter in the Night Chasers' History
A long time ago, there was a mercenary group known as the Night Chasers. Instead of making money, these heroic warriors went around helping those in need. During the war, they helped a great many people who were suffering under tyranny and injustice. However, in the ensuing age of peace, the Night Chasers were no longer needed, and were forced to disband. Years later, four young people – Zack, Lucien, Sid, and Odelia – decided to carry on their legacy, forming the new Night Chasers.

One day, Zack and his party save an Elven girl named Dolores. Suffering from amnesia, Dolores cannot remember why she has ventured so far from the Elven Kingdom – only that she has been sent on an urgent quest. Concerned for her well-being, the Night Chasers take her into their fold, leading them to discover an ancient and terrible threat to the kingdom…

Community Insight:

If you liked the first Hero Emblems, you will love this one. Unlike most Match-3 games, you pay once and then play as much as you'd like. No gimmicks — just cool puzzle mechanics, adorable art, and simple-yet-fun RPG elements. Thank you, HeatPot Games. Waited years for this and it's even better than we expected.

One of the things we liked in first game is that possibility to after deleting it from the device for whatever reason, but after deciding to reinstall it, you can pickup where you stopped, because its being iCloud synced. No progress loss. This one, even though the iCloud sync option is visibly checked and we can see it uses space on iCloud account just as fist version – just cant. We tried few times. Somehow seems now its only works for switching devices while its installed on at least one we guess? Edited; fixed and improved generally. Great.

Had a lot of fun with this game (and the original) until the final boss. The game keeps soft crashing and we cant finish the game. Four times now, and the last time we had the boss under 20% HP after 90 minutes of battling.

Heres the good news: the same fundamental gameplay that we loved about the first game is still present in the sequel. The bad news is: – The main game is buried under WAY too many added RPG mechanics. This is a match 3 game, people, not the new Witcher. Its too complicated. – The puzzle board is harder to use; the icons arent distinct enough. – Everything on screen sort of pulsates and writhes the whole time. Its weird and distracting. – Youre graded on completion time, which destroys any claim the game has of being casual. The first game was a charming little puzzler with some fun added RPG elements. With this one, its like they were embarrassed by the last one and tried to turn into a full-blown RPG. If we want that, Ill replay DQ7.

Played Hero Emblem a long time ago, herd 2 was out so we dust off our old iPad to play it. 2 added some new features to improve the combat complexity. Story is what u expect and dev added character voices. Overall a wonderful sequel.

And holy cow its awful. The healer forgets about magic bad. But the worst part is the lead. Being aggressively bland is bad enough in real life. Being bland IN ENTERTAINMENT Where the purpose is to engage, where youre competing with insane machworlds like soulvars, when this offensively boring protagonist whines nonstop about having to adventure and theres no way to leave the complainer behind… There is no stake, no thrill, no purpose. This games as engaging as a textbook, but the textbook will teach you something while this game will cost you money. Your choice.

The entire game is just trying to clear debuffs non stop. And it takes away 4+ emblem matches more and more the later in the game you get. Seriously skip it.

You wouldnt think that a Match 3, an RPG and rich storytelling would work hand in hand, but this group has managed to pull it off not once, but twice. Both games are well worth the money and just leave us satisfied and ready for the next one.

We played Puzzle Quest back in the day, and Ive been playing Gems of War for 6 years. But this? This is absolutely the best match-3 Ive ever played. Everything about this game is amazing, from the RPG, to the matching game, to the art. We dont know how good the story is going to be, as Im not that far yet, but frankly we dont care; you dont come to a match-3 game for the story, but even still whats presented so far is better than most attempts. We will probably look up the precursor title after Im done with this one (but we hope it will take a while to finish). We sincerely hope that there will be a sequel to this. This is easily the best money Ive ever spent on a phone game. We wish more developers would sell games instead of resorting to ads and micro-transactions, and its exciting that this game doesnt have any of those issues. Pure offline goodness, so you can easily play on a plane. Kudos to the developers; Im grateful for this gem.

This is, by far, the best title matching game in the App Store. The first one is a good game, but the improvements made on this one take it to a completely new level. The games looks and play great. A lot more options for character customization were added and having a large selection of characters that can switch in and out of battle are very welcome additions. Excellent game. Worth every $.

Terrible UI – confusing gameplay – no explanation of how things work. Whats equipped- what isnt – who knows? The company provides a terrible walkthrough which is someone just playing the game for an hour without any explanation.

Really similar to Puzzle Quest, but without the pay to win junk. Also, we heard about this on the IGN podcast.

Ok we did grind for a while and finally defeated the demon lord but this is one rare game that is captivating and enjoyable. Top notch graphics and music. Definitely worth buying.

PROS: Looks good, plays well, smooth, fun animations CONS: Difficulty spike 7 hours in, no explanation of systems beyond initial tutorial, RNG nature of match-3 makes some battles uniquely challenging.

Worth the wait. The hero emblems 2 is more complex and more fun. Love it. Cant wait for the new updates.

Idk how yall did it but u made a better heel emblem. The voice over is truly a delight. Zach reminds us of shikamaru.

You will get 50 hours of gameplay out of this game. The best match 3 single player game you will play. Downsides are that the game feels a bit on rails. There is no replay ability once you are done. No game+ or endless mode. Hopefully the devs can address that.

Let us start off by saying we loved the first Hero Emblems game. Seeing the sequel finally release after so many years in development was an amazing surprise. And honestly, aside from the random encounter rate being somewhat obnoxious, the gameplay is perfectly serviceable. …but it's honestly difficult to get through the cutscenes when the translation is marred by incorrect grammar, weird word choice, and bad writing in general. We'd be perfectly content unlocking traits, getting better gear, and running around the map finding secret chests if not for the godawful story that fails to live up to its (cliched) potential. One of the characters in particular grates on our nerves but that's a matter of personal preference. With the new skip button added, you can enjoy the match-3 strategy and ignore the plot.

Bravo to the devs. Hero Emblem 2 lives up to the first game and then some! The art is beautiful, the game play is addicting and perfect for the phone, and the story is solid. We cant believe how much content there is, and how well balanced combat is. Thank you to all that worked on this game, and we look forward to HE3.

Just finished the game. It takes a while – challenging and lots to explore. No IAP gimmicks – just a fantastic game.

We love the mix of RPG and match-3 components, but we have to admit that the game is tuned towards making you take just a little too long on every quest, journey, and boss battle. The game takes about 50 hours to beat, but we think itd be better if it only took 25.

This game has so much outdated crap. Random encounters of low level garbage, tons of grinding, random mechanics that you often cant really work around. The publishers clearly are not at all hesitant to completely waste the players time.

The Sea turtle with the forzen skill is just insane. There's no way you can solve the problem. You cannot substitute the teamThe grid is also restricted, and there is no way to move it. It's a stupid design.

We think there is a big. Cant reach the town. Keep tapping on it and nothing.

Fantastic match three game. Great music and graphics. The story is decent. Game is quite difficult at times and we have had to grind for better equipment and levels more than once. There is no pay to win or in app purchases.

Game is only letting the touchscreen work on one side of the map cant select quest to go to please fix and we will give 5 stars.

We really enjoyed Emblem Heroes 1 but we always wondered if there was a second game how would they expand and grow tue game. Haven't played the EB 2 for a few days we can say this is one of our favorite match 3 game, right next to Sdorica. New characters, super attacks, better combo system, and a pretty cool storyline. As of now we're still in the first island but if the quality continues we can't wait to see what else is in store.

Its better than the original and we loved the original and it improves upon it every way. We havent had to grind much and even when a boss seems impossible we happen to pull a win out most of the time because you are able to switch out downed characters and let them recover. Its a match three so obviously there is luck involved. About ten hours in and Im having a blast.

Translation is as bad as the 80s Nintendo translation. They likely ran the thing through google translate and then posted that without ever going to a human translator. Game is great besides the horrific translation.

Was drawn to the game by the cute, simple character designs. Gameplay is fun and compelling and the difficulty as you progress poses a fun challenge. Only real con is that the translation is stiff readable enough to follow the story, at least, but it can be distracting.

Decently fun game, but the complete lack of direction and instructions can make it a really frustrating experience.

The game is good because we like puzzles.

The first game was amazing. Part 2 improves EVERYTHING. One of the finest match 3 games ever made.

We never played the first game, but it received so much praise we pre-ordered this one. No regrets at all, aside from hopeless addiction to it, haha. Fun characters, entertaining puzzle matches, and challenging quests. Genuinely a great mobile game.

No that's not an exaggeration. This truly is the best of any match-3 game you'll ever find. Beautifully animated, gorgeous backgrounds, JP voiced, fun / strategic gameplay mechanics, great music, fun story. It has it all. Hero Emblems 1 was already the best Match-3 game ever and this just improves on it. This game was many years in the making and it doesn't disappoint. BUY THIS GAME and support high quality premium game releases. No gacha, no ads, no iap, pure offline experience. The price is a steal. This is one game you definitely don't want to miss! Thank you Heatpot Games.

This game has been a long time in the making. We loved the first one and played it into the ground, but the sequel takes everything that made the first one so great and makes it even better. This is so worth your time that it hurts. Do yourself a favor and click the buy button right now and get playing.

Dont force players to read your story. Its 2022, might want to get with the time.

The gameplay is a lot of fun. Been waiting for this for ages. Unfortunately the poor translation weights the whole things down. It seems like machine translation. Text is stiff and awkward and doesnt sound natural at all. It takes a lot away from the experience. Sometimes it is even confusing, like when the mage refers to lightning as fire from the sky.

The game suffers from a lot of Engrish – its not a problem in many other Match 3 games, but in a story RPG, Id prefer to have translation/writing problems removed by quality control. Its been a long time since the days of Breath of Fire 2 and its dubious handling of the English language. For as long as the game took, we had hoped for better.

We love souls games and old puzzle quest (before it became p2w) but this is insane you either grind for 20 hours to prep/level for one fight or die. Save your money this game was designed idiots who have a great system but artificially inflate monster difficulty so it is not skill but hours of mindless grinding that matters. A very disappointing sequel that did not learn from the mistakes of previous games. The devs really dropped the ball.
