Community Insight:
This is our absolute favorite mobile game Ive ever played. Im so hop to see its still available on the App Store even though its been a decade since we first downloaded it. Please do yourself a favor and try it.
We finished this game back in the day and we miss it. Please please revisit it for new levels. It really is one of the most fun games we have ever played.
Fun, Challenging and Comedic With no forced ads, plenty of content and everything listed above we think this game is one of the best on the AppStore.
Great game! We used to play this when we were about 5 years old, and when later on, our dad deleted it, because he had finished it. When we got much older, we really wanted to play it again, because for some odd reason, something reminded us of it. We searched everything that would relate to the title, and it could never find it. Then years later, we were about to go on our moms ipad, and suddenly we saw the game, and it reminded us so much of our childhood. Now, we love playing it and it's probably one of our favorite games! Also, we would love an update with more levels! Amazing game keep up the great work.
This game is actually our favorite game on the App Store right now. Its great if you really need to pass the time but after you finish all the levels you feel like you want to play it again because it was so much fun. They should honestly add more levels or add a feature where you could create levels.
This game is great in all, but it would be nice to play bomb chicken on iPad. Make it happen, nitrome. Bomb chicken is an awesome game. But we still like this game.
We played this game when we were like 7 years old and a year later we deleted the game and when we re downloaded the game there was the kraken pack and plus we still love the game and it would make a great movie if there is one in the future.
Hey we just want to say we hope you guys at nitrome respond to this but we just want to tell you we have lots of ideas for a 5th chapter like it could be in a type of factory or another town like hammerfest of a castle and an underwater base but in Norse mythology there is so much you could do with this game.
Muy,muy entretenido. Mi agradecimiento a los desarrolladores y soar por un rato que no todo es dinero en este mundo. Gracias.
A little challenging, makes you think it out enjoy playing.
Please do one more map pack and have the chief's troll side as the final boss please we want to fight him we even tried drawing a picture of what the boss fight should look like PLEEEEEEEEASE do another map pack!!!! (P.S. We think the chief is the two headed troll.) P.P.S. Pls do more levels kthxbai.
Imagine a world in which you buy a game and then don't have ads and in-app purchases constantly shoved down your throat. Seriously, close your eyes and dream. Now, buy a Nitrome game and experience that world. Our love for Nitrome aside, Icebreaker is just plain fun, a great mobile puzzler with enough optional challenges to allow the novice to progress and the pro to squeeze some extra value and enjoyment out of this great game. Also, we love the 16-bit aesthetic. The sound design is phenomenal too. Get this game.
We absolutely love this game, it kept us occupied for quite a few days while traveling and sitting in airports. We fell more in love with this game the farther we progressed and was devastated when it was all over. We hope new levels come soon.
Great textures' GREAT sound track' idea is great' And a little humor' and lots of fun!!!! (And cutting) would definitely recommend the game to kids 10-18.
Tons of fun, challenging and creative! Good physics. Love that there are multiple ways to pass levels.
We slogged through Angry Birds like the best of us, but to to tell you the truth, it kinda got old. Not so for this gem. It keeps you engaged with unique puzzles, a great sense of humor, and even a little narrative from our Viking friends. And the gorgeous pixel art doesn't hurt a bit. Buy this if you're not cold hearted.
This game is SO fun!!!!!!! Ice breakers is kind of hard, but that makes it AWESOME!!!! Especially Isle Of The Goat. It was SO hard. We tried it like 3 times or something!! But thats why its so fun!!!!!! But, we just dont think its fair that you have to pay REAL MONEY for upgrades. (P.S. We wanted the give Ice Breakers a 4 and a half review but we couldnt find out how.).
Yet another one of these games with levels specifically designed to get you to waste your money. Came back after a few years to see the game we paid money to play is still treated like a f2p game. Only upside is no ads. Not going to spend more money on a paid game to beat it. Just stick to the crappy f2p games. At least those dont hide their desire to get you to spend more and more.
The game is to be so much fun but this version of it doesnt fit the screen and looks pretty bad. It also makes it feel like youre playing on a really old phone and you cant be precise with your cut.
Here is an example of what we mean: Literally the very SECOND level of Under Dwell tricks you into thinking that you have to be precise with the cannon, while in reality, you have to cut some top ice, indicated by the tiniest outcropping of ice possible, dont play this trash.
No support for the iPhone X screen.
We have a strict policy on games. Either you pay for the game, or there are in-app power ups that you can buy. We like paying for games because the in-app $ games are generally crap. We really hate paying for a game to find out its also the "make it hard so they buy stuff" type. Auto 1 star. You can't monetize both ways.
We had previously downloaded this app when it was free and played almost all of the levels that come with it, however when we went to re-download it today it said it would cost $6 and we thought Oh, we guess they added more as a part of this. It was a fun game before and we want to see how it improved. When we opened the app we were disappointed to find that not only was it the same in pretty much every way, it also requires us to pay not just to use the power ups but also to play any more of the story than we had access to as a free-to-play customer.
After offering their app for free on the AppStore, Nitrome pulled a fast one (in the form of a dodgy update) and saddled what was once a great game with more ads than anyone could possibly bear. They promised free daily God power-ups, but never came through. Because we were hell-bent on completing the missions, we disabled wifi, just so we could free ourselves from the constant barrage of interruptions. We downgraded our review, and deleted this dog. Greed never wins.
Strategic physics game that's fun. Sure the ads are annoying but the game is fun.
Turn off the WI-FI and the game will be free of ads.
If you haven't updated, DON'T! We're still playing a five-star game, but it looks like the update kills some of the joy.
All we can say is this game is amazing. It's challenging but at the same time very entertaining. Keep up the good work Nitrome, but release more games.
Always played it on computer! This is just amazing app.
A little difficult sometimes but so much fun to think about the solution .. Love it please continue.
The game itself is great, definitely recommend it for anybody who likes puzzles. However, the part that seems to be important to everybody is the ads. People who got the game for free also got way too many ads. We bought the game at full price and only encounter a full-screen ad every now and then. In our experience, the ads are no where near as bad as some other games.
Not bad game, but the amount of ads could be smaller.
This was a five star game before the full screen ads took over the entire game. Expect full screen ads, that force a count down before you can close them, BEFORE EVERY LEVEL. EVEEERY LEEEVEL!!!! Just because you can do full size ads does not mean you should take it to such an extreme.
Would love to try the game. But it's nothing but one big crash after another.
We were overjoyed when we saw the update for free power ups. We got one free power up when we first went on the updated app and haven't got one since. We haven't had any problems with ads on the app.
This game was great until the last update. Now there are pop-up adds every other screen; its out of control.
Loved this game, even got our 4 year old playing a bit to critically think his cuts. Some levels leave you scratching your head then you come back and it's so simple. Like most people have stated the ads are terrible. We could do without the free God powers or whatever. Just let us play for fun. We did get the game free, yes, but we would never recommend this to our friends now due to the ads. We'd feel bad if they paid for it and then got those too. Update this please.
Crashes every time we try to play after update.
Had this game on the iPhone 5. Was our favorite game. Just got the iPhone 6 and the game progress didn't move over! What's up.
Well we updated the app thinking we would finally be able to beat the level we were stuck on with the free daily God powers, BUT there was no free God powers!!! So on this update color us disappointed other wise pretty good.
Had this app for a bit…puzzles are pretty fun & some are challenging. Game is now unplayable due to ads all over the place. Going to uninstall and avoid this developer in the future.
We enjoyed this game. It was imaginative and challenging. We had removed it from our iPad and was about to reinstall until we saw that the developers decided to put ads in it. We won't be playing this again.
Uninstalled this due to the annoying ever present ads for other games we have no interest in. Downloaded when it was app of the week. Good gameplay but ruined by constant advertising. Shame on Nitrome.
The game itself is well done. But the amount of advertising between levels or restarts is really bad. Nitrome has allowed agencies to put in videos now. It's just a chore to play this game. Being deleted.
The game itself is great, but the ads are so frequent and annoying, that it makes it almost unplayable. We quit when they started occurring in the middle of playing a level, forcing you to restart the level after waiting to close the ad, which is allowed by a 5 pixel "x" in the corner after 5-10 seconds.
To be fair, we got this game when it was the free app of the week. At first, we loved it! It was very addictive and we enjoyed the in-game achievements. The OCD part of us likes completing every little thing. But then the advertisements came. In droves. We couldn't replay a level, much less go to another level, without a pop up. We understand Nitrome needs to make money, but this is borderline asinine. And there are some adverts you can't close immediately because there's a video that has to load first. We eventually just get frustrated and stop playing. Then there's iCloud, which we use to back up game progress. We had to reinstall iOS 8.0.2 to (hopefully) eliminate blue screens on our mini2. We checked to make sure Icebreaker was backed up before proceeding. Reinstalled everything and every other game restored from iCloud just fine, except this one. Sorry, but we shouldn't have to 100% complete Troll Marsh again because their app won't restore properly. In all, the game itself is terrific fun, but the barrage of advertisements and iCloud failure means we won't be playing it again anytime soon.
From 5 stars we down rated it to 2 stars. Ever since their "daily power" special update, they've bombarded the players with advertisements so bad, that it personally makes us turn off the game immediately. They aren't just pop up advertisements, but video advertisements! And there's a timer until you can skip it. Good going Nitrome.
We probably would have given this game a 5 star rating. However, the type and scope of the advertising is way, WAY out of hand. It's too much to handle. If you don't mind annoying pop-up ads, and video ads, then get the game, 'cause it's a fun puzzler. But, had we been warned, we would not have chosen this app. Update: it's really a shame such an entertaining game like this had to be ruined by ads. It's so bad we can't play anymore, and have decided delete the app without finishing gameplay. It's really that encumbering. We would have to say don't bother.
So you promise free God powers but don't give them to us and instead insert annoying ads that popup rather frequently. Excellent job. You have ruined a great game in one enormous mistake of an "update." Updated to 2 stars since you actually added the free God powers. However the ads still make us very upset.
We've had this game a while, and enjoyed it. Recently, they posted an update describing daily God mode addition. We updated, and there seemed to be no difference, no daily God mode. Instead, there is now popup ads. Seems sneaky and dishonest, they should have described the addition of ads in the update description.
