We have to agree with others that the game is unfair in easy mode. Netflix login popping up in the middle of the game is gotta be fixed. Once logged in and playing our game should not be interrupted with log in please. Perhaps make the game a little easier, its no fun to play loosing most the time. People will just stop playing and cancel their required Netflix account.

The game makes us re-log in several times a dayand doesnt save the login info.

Out numbered. Overwhelmed. We guess a high level of chess skill required?

The game itself is good but you can only play while online and signed into a Netflix account, which is nonsensical since this is entirely a single-player game with no online features or gameplay. We guess doing a deal with Netflix was more important to Subset than user friendliness for the people who actually play their game. Would be happy to pay for the game if the developers were simply charging for the game itself, but its absolutely not worth signing up for a Netflix subscription just for this. Blech!

We think we’ve played 1500 hours of Into the Breach across multiple platforms and the mobile one is flawless. Play it on Unfair mode for a daunting but rewarding challenge.

This game is literally EVERYTHING we couldve wanted in a game dont get us wrong its a long game if you want to get a 100% run but we mean its worth it for us but there are some problems for instance there should be way more teams or achievements to get and the coin system we understand but there are some that are almost impossible to complete so you gotta know which ones to pick before you buy them but overall great game.

Dont delete if game isnt loading before you try connecting to Wi-Fi also dont start playing on toilet, your legs will turn to static and you will get at least one hemorrhoid.

Its a great game (on desktop), but there no way to buy this game on the App Store. For some reason, they assumed we would pay a subscription to a movie streaming platform for the privilege to play a game on a phone. Absolute nonsense.

It was perfect on desktop and its just as good as Id hoped on mobile. If chess but make it Pacific Rim isnt an instant download for you idk if we can be friends.

This game is great but having only one undo on a cell phone where its very easy to misclick is extremely unfortunate.

Im locked out of the game due to error code NGP-1 and cant find anything online regarding this code.

This game is fantastic. But locking it behind a subscription service is deplorable. Let us pay $20 to support the devs and buy the game directly. Netflix is a trash service and Im not going to pay for it just to play this game. Disgusting practice.

This is an outstanding game made by outstanding developers but we question Netflixs choice to include it in their platform as it is not friendly to casual players. It may look simple but its a very complex game that is not entirely intuitive. If you are a causal player or new to the genre, keep that in mind, be persistent and start on easy mode.

If someone had told us years ago that Into the Breach was a game where you distill the most interesting, brain teaser strategic turns late into the heart of a chapter in Fire Emblem and ensure all battles are only those epic turns, we would have purchased this game years ago. We missed it then but Im loving it on our phone now. Controls feel good, the music reminds us of the beautiful tones from playing FTL so many years ago. We cant believe we slept on this game, Im going to pay attention to this dev more, big fan.

Vek Threat: Unstoppable. Mission: Failed. Open a breach. Time to go back and try again.

You cant play unless you sign up for a paid Netflix subscription. Absolutely ludicrous system. We love this game on PC, otherwise zero stars and shame on Netflix.

This was a fantastic indie game and an instant cult classic in the same vein as FTL and Slay the Spire. It was just screaming to be ported to mobile. And it was but a bitter sweet sorrow Im afraid. NETFLIX bought the mobile publishing rights and to play you have to have a sub with them and always be online to play; a game mind you that has no multi player in any capacity whatsoever. A sad story for a great single player game that would have been awesome on the mobile platform.

Doesnt even save your progress 30% of the time and its a subscription, wild.

We love Into the Breach on Steam and Nintendo Switch. It is ridiculous to lock it down to a Netflix account, which we have no interest in. Players are almost guaranteed to lose their save file eventually, you cant play it offline, and players wont own this game as soon as Netflix removes it from their list. Get out of the Netflix money grab and just sell this game for us loyal players to own, Subset Games. Youve sold out, and this is going to likely be the end of your greatness as a nearly perfect independent developer. Youre going to be just another developer scrambling for maximum money. Sad to see.

We first played and fell in love with this game originally on our Switch. When we saw it was available on our iPad with a Netflix subscription we downloaded it immediately. We were weary about whether or not the controls would translate well and if it was an accurate port. Well to our surprise not only is it nearly identical to the console version but the game actually controls better with touch only controls! So much so that we now prefer to play it here rather than on our console. If you like turn based strategy games like Fire Emblem you will absolutely not be disappointed! The game is jam packed full of unlockable content via an achievements system and its incredibly addictive trying to get every single one. If youre considering it enough to read the reviews then you owe it to yourself to try it out.

We totally get it Subset probably got a nice chunk of change to keep their business going. As a consumer and someone who wants Subset to keep making games and be successful, we think it was a good business move, but we would much rather buy the game outright (again <3) without Netflix involved (no shade on yall, Im glad Subset got a piece of that pie) in order to play it whenever we want on mobile and to help support the devs while not needing to have to another party and account involved.

Every strategy or tactics enthusiast should try this game on Mac or PC. Its incredibly well-designed. This game is a roguelike with permadeath and procedurally generated maps. Its fully single player with no pay to win or microtransactions. This game is perfect. All that being said, the port to mobile is extremely buggy. Its sad to see such an incredible game riddled with errors, like the bug where nothing on-screen is responsive and we have to exit to our home screen and open the app again. Happens about 3x per battle.

Multiple times we’ve had a bug wherein we couldn’t move our mech to a certain square. It’s happened at least 5 times. And anyone who plays this game knows that would drive you nuts. Please fix it then 5 stars.

Even on the easiest difficulty setting there are too many enemies for casual play. We realize some people want a very hard game to challenge them, but for us we don’t want to dedicate the time and concentration. We think there’s a simple fix. If the Easy level were changed so that you don’t lose reactor cores when you die it would be possible to gradually increase mech power until it’s an enjoyable balance. The reason we didn’t find it fun was that we kept losing all progress and replaying the same tiny amount of gameplay over and over again. Allowing the player to keep accumulating reactor cores instead of losing them every time you die would make it so that you aren’t completely starting over.

Really gross that we cant play this because we dont have Netflix.

The game with such model of distribution violates appstore rules. But we know that Netflix could do many things that usual developers couldnt. Its all about discrimination.

Requires a Netflix login to play.

Absolutely pathetic that the develops of Sunk so low to put this with Netflix. Netflix is already garbage the people who made this game of the people who made faster than light two of our most favorite games of all time we never in 1 million years would we thought the developers wouldve made such a highly ignorant decision im honestly left without words they couldve made this game $10 easy its a masterpiece but now we got a sign into Netflix to play it we’ve lost all respect for the ignorant developers this is pathetic and embarrassing.

We love the developers, and have enjoyed both FTL and Into The Breach on PC. Leaving fans like us out in the cold because we dont have/want a Netflix subscription is unkind and unnecessary. We would have happily bought this game a second time for the convenience of playing on our phone, but thats not an option. Subscriptions were bad enough, but letting streamers lock games for the sake of exclusivity and revenue share is simply ridiculous. People want to buy a game; let them buy the game. This Netflix deal may benefit the developers (and Netflix) now, but it puts us off having anything to do with them in the future.

Cant overstate how many hours we’ve put into this one. Its a testament to how elegantly this game is designed that even on a phone screen, it doesnt feel compressed at all. Like others, we kinda wish it wasnt tied up with Netflix, but whatever. Still a miracle to have it on the subway.

Very good game but we accidentally killed the a.c.i.d. Launcher because its considered a unit and not a building :(

Love this game. 4 stars because we cant play podcasts or music over the game audio even after muting the games audio.

Into The Breach is a top 50 all-time game for us but being unable to play music/podcasts while you play the game is beyond frustrating. Play it on Switch or one of the other platforms.

Ever since its release on PC and Switch, Into the Breach has been one of our favorite games of all time. Theres an incredible amount of depth, strategy, and narrative packed into an 8×8 grid. Having played the PC/Switch versions for hundreds of hours, we were thrilled to see that this game was coming to mobile AND getting new content. We love this game, but we have a few notes for future updates. 1. For whatever reason, we cant listen to outside music or podcasts while playing the game. Whatever Im listening to stops as soon as we open the app. The music and sound design of the game are great, but sometimes we just want to listen to a podcast while slaying Vek, you know? Please, please address this in a future update. 2. There is some bug that reverses the choice we make for new content. Sometimes, we check the boxes for the new content, but Im stuck with the classic missions and enemies. When the new content boxes are unchecked, new enemies, missions, and weapons appear. This specific issue seems very fixable in a patch. 3. We’ve noticed a bug where the grid-defense percentage fluctuates mid-match. We’ve mostly noticed this happening in unfair mode when the grid-defense starts at 0%. Again, something that seems fixable in a patch. Overall, Im thrilled that this game is free for Netflix subscribers and finally available on mobile. If you address these issues, we will happily change our review to a solid five stars!

Love the game. We’ve played it a ton on our computer and on our old Android phone. However, on our new iPhone we cant play the game and listen to music, podcasts, or watch videos on PiP mode. Even with the audio muted in the game! This is very frustrating because we like to relax by playing games and listening to podcasts at the same time. Taking away two stars because of this issue.

No other audio, even when audio is disabled in the game, no offline play.

This is a great game and we would play lots of money for it given the chance. But its free with Netflix so thats fine too – but we cant play it on a plane! So, so disappointing. FTL is our current go to and we wanted to sink our teeth into this one over a long flight. Alas, it wont open even if we were logged in before. Please fix this. It is ridiculous. Or let us pay for the port separately.

If youre the kind of person who likes to get a perfect score on every level and complete every mission objective in the games you play, this game is not for you. We find the game to be extremely difficult, and can really only play it on easy mode. Normal mode is basically unplayable unless youre ok with consistently failing mission objectives and losing more often than you win. There isnt even a way to restart a level and try again, you only get the option to completely start the whole game over. From the other reviews, its clear that many people like this game, so we think its just that the game doesnt match well with our particular style of game play.

When we try to log in to the app we get an error saying NGP-86. Netflix customer support said we dont know if well be able to fix it.

We love this game, and it is awful that its on Netflixs service. We are unable to login to any Netflix games. We get an error code NGP-7006 with no helpful information. We get the same error on any device for any Netflix game, in spite of being able to login to our Netflix account without any issues. We have contacted Netflix support about it and so far there is nothing they can do.

Great game, but why do we need to connect to our Netflix account every time we start the game up. We primarily play phone games while on flights, and this completely defeats the purpose. No other games we own require this.

If you are listening to music or a podcast or whatever, the game mutes it with no way to override. Obnoxious and stupid. Ill gladly update our review when/if they update this, but Ill never understand why a decision like this would be made in the first place.

Into The Breach is a fine game, and we highly recommend it. This crappy implementation by Netflix is a terrible misadventure in screwing up a decent application. This application completely takes over audio output on our iPhone. We cannot listen to music or audiobooks or anything from other apps while playing the game. Hard stop. Uninstall. Terrible rating. Get a clue and stop screwing up decent applications for your cash grab.

Most of the time when we want to play we cant because it requires internet access for a single player game. App is basically useless. Would give zero stars if we could.
