Exactly what you expect if you played previous of their TD games. Always enjoy the kingdom rush series and this is no exception.
We have been playing kingdom rush ever since we were a little kid playing the original and the frontiers. We gotta say we think this has become our new favorite kingdom rush game, at first we thought the ability to change towers was weird but once we started to change towers It added a whole new level of strategy into the game and it made playing more fun to see which towers work best together. And the free hero selection is a lot bigger and the abilities that the heroes have are really cool and we like how you get to play with 2 heroes instead of only the one. And there are DLC that actually look like a lot of fun than most DLCs now that look like cash grabs. 10/10 would definitely recommend if this is your first kingdom rush game and worth the money too.
Their games are the best! Please add levels to the old games, we will buy them.
Only issue is there is a bug in this version of the game where we cannot access the Monkey DLC, but others we can. It disappears after we restart the game.
We never really buy games on our phone and we definitely wont after this. Normally when you pay money for a game most of everything is unlocked. NOT on this game. Beware if youre looking to play the game and think that youll use most of every tower or character. You will if you have an additional $100 to spend on the game because other than the 3-4 towers and characters youll have to pay anywhere from $3-$7 for character/tower/arena. Honestly kind of ridiculous to us, if we buy a game we would want most of everything unlocked to us, instead we feel like we bought a ticket to a show we have to pay every artist individually just to hear the whole song. Basically 80% DLC. Love the game, dont love that we need to pay more for a mobile game we already paid $6 to play.
Fun game only downside is legit half the towers and heroes you have to pay for which is kinda dumb considering you already have to buy the game atleast make them purchasable with diamonds like come on, and some of the heroes you unlock doing the story dont actually show up so you cant even use them.
Great franchise, but they have given into the pay-to-win microtransaction strategy of squeezing people out of their money. You pay for the game up front and then huge parts of the game are locked behind more paywalls. The new crystal currency thing makes us sick to our stomach. Im very sad to see Ironside Games turn to the dark side. All good things die eventually. Perhaps its just a sign of the times.
We have noticed (and also maybe other people too) that theres a trail behind Eridans outpost in the Undying Fury part of the map, so you could add more stuff there too.
Good up until level 12. The aesthetics are disgusting.
Since the Wukong update, we've been having issues with enemies being frozen on screen and it won't let us finish the level. They just stand there, no towers attack them and no troops attack either. Please have this fixed. We can't complete levels anymore :(.
The game is good, but the price is more and more expensive, but the new update hasnt big changed.
We really enjoy this series from the very first game to this one,the characters have evolved but some has been the same maybe do an entire game with some returning characters from the or ones kinda like an all out game,with more stages than these,we miss the high score stages if that can make a comeback and maybe a wolf styled character.
We love this game series, its second to ballons TD. But be warned that 7 USD is just the entry fee they have locked a ton of towers and heros behind very expensive pay walls. You should be able to use the diamond currency to purchase them but the greed for more micro transactions takes precedence over game play. Still a great game, just falls into a very typical pattern of monetization in mobile games, which is unfortunate because the industry could really bang out better games and make a ton of money if they just provided a full product.
Ive been playing the game for a while and we just redownloaded it but we purchased the colossal dwarf pack about 2 months ago and now we cant play it. The levels are on the map but we cant play them.
So many game promos show a TD game which is anything but. This is a true and very fun tower defense game.
Its very fun but all the extra towers and heroes and even the extra campaigns are locked behind paywalls.
Will u guys release junkworld we dont wanna sub to Apple Arcade just to play it it looks hella fun.
We love the game but its weird to us that we pay $7 and then theres a bunch of things that are being sold. Towers and heroes? Ohk.
This gets 5 stars from us for hitting the genre of: pay up front, offline, balanced play, the lineage of the series, and strategy.
Ive played all the Kingdom Rushes and so far this is the hardest Not in a good way hard though. Id say this is the least entertaining of the bunch. You have to buy the game and then rely on micro transactions to beat levels. Not gonna do that.
We have been a huge fan of the kingdom rush games since the first one came out, and these are the only mobile games Ive ever actually paid for. Kingdom rush 5 upholds the graphics, creativity, and humor of the series but is unfortunately the weakest game out of all of them in our opinion. We were disappointed to see the mechanism from the last game continue where youre only allotted 5 tower types that you preselect before starting a level. This was our main criticism of the last game and why the last game was the first one that we didnt enjoy as much. We miss the older mechanic where you could have up to 8 tower types available during gameplay, because it made it so much more interesting to strategize and it was more fun to see more variety on the map. We found ourselves never using a handful of towers through the whole play through because we were forced to prioritize which ones made it into gameplay. The levels themselves were not very challenging and they didnt last long enough. We found ourselves barely getting any towers to be fully upgraded before we already beat the level, so we didnt even get to fully utilize a lot of the tower skills. We beat the main campaign fairly quickly. There also werent any standout enemies, which made them all kind of meld together and made all the levels feel the same. There are still enemy types that we remember from the past games but none from this game really stuck with us. We dont mind the extra towers and heroes behind the extra paywall. We didnt purchase any of them and didnt feel like we were missing out that much. We think this developer definitely deserves to find ways to make more revenue as long as the base game stays at a reasonable price, which we think it does at the moment. Despite the criticisms, the game still upholds a high caliber with its creativity, style, and mechanics. We might take pause at buying into another installment if it comes, but this series still remains to be one of the best made for mobile games, and Ill likely continue to revisit some of the early installments for repeat play throughs.
Been playing since the original and this just is icing on top of a beautiful franchise.
The last Kingdom Rush title was a 1/5 to us due to how slow paced it was. Im happy to say that this title has corrected all the issues we had with Vengeance. Definitely the best in the series so far! Ive been enjoying the 2 hero gameplay, the upgrade system, and tower options. The free heroes you are able to obtain are really fun to use.
Does anyone remember the old deck building tower defense game back in the day? It had a similar art style to these lines of games. Dont know who made it but it would be awesome if you guys made a game similar to that deck builder strategy and mix it with this story and campaign. We think it would be awesome seeing that kind of game being brought back.
The best TD game on the market right now. Our only complaint is that if you buy the game from the App Store on iPhone it doesnt carry over to the Mac based AppStore. Its the same game but for some reason you need to pay for another license there. If this is a developer choice then boo on you. If its an Apple policy then boo on them. Im not happy about that either way.
We have played all of the Kingdom Rush games for the past 6 or 7 years and this one is the best so far. It is challenging, but not too challenging to where you lose interest. It has a wide variety of towers and heroes to choose from leaving you with many different options for tactics to use in game. Great graphics, sounds, and epic adventure to leave you stuck playing for hours. We still have not beaten this on all difficulties yet, but Im getting close. Great job on making another epic go-togame. Instant classic. Anytime we buy a new device in the future, this game will be downloaded for sure. We really have no cons to add.. Hint: play on a 13 IPad for an amazing experience. Its still fun on a small screen, but a larger tablet makes it just that much better.

The game is amazing and Im having fun, but we had bought all the heros and money was spent but we didnt receive the heros. We were wondering if you guys could help us out.
We love the game play, but this game seriously needs more contents not just story mode, such as co-op mode, challenge mode, boss mode, etc. This game has really good potentials but it really needs more contents.
We love the whole saga, but this one turned out a little bit expensive, since you are already paying for downloading the game, seems exaggerated adding additional costs for most of the heroes and other things.
Loved all kingdom rush games and this one is great but its the easiest one out of the franchise. Used to love grinding in previous kingdom rush games but you dont need to grind in this game. For $7 it was good.
After you buy the game, you still have to pay to unlock everything.
We just bought it and u show us more about what else there is to buy and de emphasize all the original content. Been playing these games since day one. You make us feel like Im playing the free version. Hope its out of need not just greed.
When we got the game we were hella excited but then after we thought back of the 6 bucks, also all the heroes and towers basically all cost money.
Limited access to towers and hroes. Kind of boring to use the same 6 towers.
We truly wish we could give this a better review (4-5 stars) but its very overpriced in our opinion. Ive always been a fan of the kingdom rush games, and the design, fun, and play of this game is so smooth. We just dont think that half of the towers they e designed, and half of the heroes, should be placed behind a pay wall (5 bucks on sale for the more expensive ones). As a tower defense game, one would think that they would let you have access to the towers and make you pay for heroes or cosmetics or something. Paying 7-8 bucks (we cant remember how much) for the base game, then asking players to fork over 20 dollars for the rest of the towers and 30 dollars for the heroes (if you buy their discounted bundles, 58 dollars total) is honestly insane for a mobile game, albeit a VERY good game. Im going to continue having as much fun as we can, just know that before you buy the base game, you will have to fork over 50 extra for the full experience.
Great game but the fact that a mobile game is $7 and then you find out that most of the content is also paid DLC is just wrong.
Go play balloon tower defense. They are much more fun.

Ive played every single kingdom rush. And its a shame to see that the extra campaigns in this one exist soley to sell add on DLC content. They are not just hard they are beyond capable of playing without extra boosts.
Ive played every kingdom rush game and enjoyed each one! Every game has a signature art style that has worked great for the producers. The gameplay, art, and story for each game has been solid. The price, has also usually been justifiable. Kingdom rush: Alliance is similar to previous games and follows a gameplay loop most similar to Kingdom rush: Vengeance. That said, this game (including DLC) is about two to three times as expensive. It is ~ 16 dollars for a full mobile game not including heroes or additional towers. Instead of playing alliance, Id recommend playing the original kingdom rush or kingdom rush: frontiers. Both (in our opinion) are their best games in the series. That said, so far, Alliance has been fun, but not as stellar as past games if only for the price. Free DLC wouldve solidified a 4 or 5/5.
Constantly having to redistribute our skill tree and hero skill points after every single level. Highly annoying. And we paid for this app because we love this series. Come on guys.
Great game just like the previous games. The only issue is sometimes you use upgrade points on towers or heroes and hit done and it doesnt save your choices. Have to do it multiple times. Sometimes Ill play a mission or two and realize it never accepted our changes. Too many IAPs on this as well. Can already buy an expansion for a game that just came out.
