We absolutely love this game! It works just like the arcade version. It works as smooth as ever, and we highly recommend it. Definitely worth $3.99.
This game is amazing and although you can play Bluetooth with someone nearby we think it would be even better if you could make an update were you could play multiplayer online with someone on Gamecenter because we don't know that many people who spend their money on arcade games on the App Store so please make it so that you can play on gamecenter thanks and keep up those Games.
THE GAME IS GREAT! A little lag but hardly noticeable usually. This brings back so many memories! Please keep making the series.
Some games age like a fine wine, others age like cheese. This game is one of the former. Loved this series when we were younger and we still love it today. One of the most enjoyable times we have had dying over and over again. Hope SNK ports the rest of the series over.

We bought this game and all the other metal slug games at once because we love them they are action packed and work perfectly. One thing we hope to see you guys release the other metal slug games to the App Store we would definitely get them please. HAPPY.
It is our first game on PS1, and now we can play on our iPad and iPhone. It will be cool to have on iOS Metal Slug Anthology, to play all parts with friends via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi There are already on PC all parts of this game in one. Creators, make the new part of Metal Slug for iOS platform with some new cool features, things. With respect.
When we start the game our screen flips we like we were playing temple run. And that pisses us off cause almost half of the screen we can't see.

Graphic look good and it runs quite well although there are occasional slowdown with large amount of stuff appears on screen. Our only big complaint is that the controls aren't great.They work well most of the time but they can't beat the controls of a real controller or arcade stick. However, other than that, this is a great port and we would recommend people to buy this. You won't regret it.
This is our fourth review for the the Metal Slug series on IOS. We've bought all four Metal Slugs to play on our Ipad 2. They all look and play great. We're so impressed at how well they play with virtual controls. We feel we play as well as when we use a joystick. We've played this series for years and these IOS version are a blast. Keep them coming SNK.

The game is a true remake of the original and we loved playing with a few added bonuses. The controls work well and the graphics are nice! We purchased METAL SLUG 1, 2, 3, and X now!, these are type of games that fun and worth spending money on. Thanks Dev.

We like this game series but this game is very hard to play game by using touch screen so we want to play game by another controller like bluetooth keyboard we tried to using bluetooth keyboard BT keyboard is applied to this game But key setting is quite a chaos.
Snk had to revise metal slug 2 because it lagged during intense activity, so they modified it and called it metal slug x.
We have all the metal slugs out n we love them but doesn't this metal slug have the exact same missions as metal slug 2??!! Am we right, go check guys?? We're confused why this is.
Just got X and we love it. But can we get our money back for #2 since you just released it like a month ago? We've got no need for it now.
If you like metal slug you wont be disappointed.everything just like in the old arcade machines.
For a port that's probably an afterthought snk and the dev they outsourced it to did a decent job. The biggest problem is the controls. Although it is very very difficult to implement good traditional controls on a touchscreen, this is a decent job, with the glaring exception of the sensitivity. These controls are so unresponsive at times it breaks some parts of the game, especially boss fights. To clear them you have put in as many shots as you can, die, and repeat until winning. Please fix. Also, the SNK screen at the beginning that isn't optimized for iphone 5 is kind of jarring. That's a no brainer.
Add MFI support, controls are mediocre at best. This game is begging for game pad support.
The game is awsome,but when we play multiplayer it lags every danm second:/ but face it nomatter how much we complain there not gunna do a danm thing about it to fix it thats reality.
The game is so fare so good bud pleas fix fix fix the multiplayer it froze a lot really you gays fix fix fix.
There had better be updates to this game cuz the lag is horrible. Just as bad as the lag during mission 3's boss on metal slug 3 which STILL needs an update. So far metal slug 2 is the only make so far that has no issues.

Only reason why we have to stars is because we really like this series. We were excited to play it on our phone. After paying for, downloading and choosing our character it crashes on the selection screen. Things like this should be fixed first and foremost, even more so when your dealing with people's money. A dollar or so isn't much but any app that needs to be purchases should have these major of problems fixed ASAP . That's our review, we're sure when we're actually allowed to play the game our rating will change for the better. Hope this review is read and some action to Fix the game is taken.

We purchased the whole pack for about $8 and dont regret it! The cool thing with the game is that you can change the graphics from original to filtered! Game play is the same as we remembered!Definitely a game worth purchasing! Also to the creator: Im waiting for metal slug 6 and metal slug 7 please make these games available for our mobile devices and for the iPod touch 7 gen.
For people looking to buy this in 2025 the game lowkey runs great from any iPhone 12 and up we wouldnt recommend playing with the touch pad we recommend playing with the controller through Bluetooth or backbone only issue is u cant use grenades unless u touch the pad which isnt a big issue thats the only issue anything else or everything else runs smoothly Ill say this for metal slug 1-3 and x all work this way we have yet to buy 4 and 5 but check it out soon to see if we left a review gonna buy it soon hope this helps.

Game crashes a lot. Screen joystick too stagnant.? Plug in controller. Grenades will not throw. Great port but yeah.
The controls are a bit difficult to work with we wonder if theres a way you can make the joystick better to use.
