Milkmaid of the Milky Way Reviews

It could have been a bit longer but it was still really fun to play.

We love the game. It was challenging but not impossible and the writing was very entertaining. We would def. Recommend this game!

Neat game! We think maybe five puzzles seemed very arbitrary to us, but the rest we could figure out. We got stuck a couple times apart from the arbitrary puzzles, but figured it out after scratching our head a bit. We recommend the game.

We loved this game. It’s beautiful and frustrating and fun and just long enough to obsess but not take over your life. I’d love to see a sequel!!

We don’t write many reviews, although we buy a lot of games, but we wanted to give 5 stars for this because we feel like there should be more games just like this… We grew up on point & click adventure games, but we rarely find one we really like these days, & they don’t seem to make all that many in general Others we like for ios are Inner World and Silent Age… We really wish there were more to pass our time!

The music was sublime, and the dialogue was beautiful to read. V annoyed people are complaining about the price tag. It’s only $4! More than just a couple hours of gameplay, which is brilliant and entrancing by the way, and BY an indie developer! Y’all walk in the app store thinking like it’s Wal-mart, and you’re getting something soulless and mass-produced. Selfish.

You can tell a lot of love went into this game. Its a bit short, but well worth the journey. Thank you!

We love classic point-and-clicks by LucasArts and Sierra. This game very much reminded us and gave us that feel of old Kings Quest games, but especially Loom. It is shorter than most adventures, but it is sophisticated. We are fluent in both French and English and found the translation of the dialogues impressively accurate while maintaining rhyme, and still giving the necessary hints to solve problems. These are for sure not just translated. A lot of thought went into it. We applaud the creator for this. The story is sweet, and the puzzles not over the top difficult. Its a friendly point-and-click for newbies.

A lovely game with soothing music, interesting worldbuilding, fun characters and great story. Shorter than we would have liked, but only because we wanted to keep enjoying it. Well worth the price.

This app did not support the ability to be rotated. We’ve enjoyed our journey so far. Quirky and fun.

Took us way too long to find this great adventure game, but Im so glad we did. Hope a sequel or more games are being made by the developer.

This game is very high quality and well put together. The story is fantastic and suspenseful, and the sound track is probably the best aspect of the game. Loved it.

There has never been a finer example that pixels are just a canvas for what can be a moving and emotional story. We are just getting started, and it is such a touching presentation of what a girl’s life could be like on the mountain. And, so far, we are missing some of the annoying aspects of the classics – red herrings, pointless deaths. A retro game that would have fit in well in the King’s Quest era, but with subtle modern effects like moving clouds and a real piano and classical guitar moving soundtrack. The attention to detail and frequent shifting of perspective is reminiscent of Another World.

Played it in two seasons and despite what others say we dont mind that it was short. It was exactly as long as it needed to be. We honestly dont have time to play through an epic 40 hr adventure which is why we love mobile games like this. We get to have all the same nostalgia and fun and finish the game too. Soundtrack was fantastic and is definitely worth putting on headphones.

SO CUTE, and love the plot! Milkmaid of Milky Way is the most wonderful, well-designed games we have ever played. The amazing and beautiful creativity is truly inspiring. Highly recommended.

We too would agree with others, that the game feels a little unfinished… Length wise. However. We did have to use YouTube once or twice to figure out what to do. We think 5$ is fair. As the entire game was done by one guy. Which is really rad if you think about. He alone put all that effort in. 5$ isnt too much to ask. But it was kinda short. We would agree.

Beautiful game. Reminds us a lot of an older game called Loom. The only problem is that this game is SHORT. It felt more like a demo than an actual game, and there were a few unanswered questions and things that were never explained. I’d say it’s worth 1$… Maybe. But 4$ is absurd, seriously. We were expecting at least 5 times the amount of game. Shortest point and click adventure game we’ve ever played. We give it 4 stars because it’s good, and we would like to see more. But… Lol we just have to say it again, it felt like a demo.

Cute little game. Wish it was longer.

Im an adventure gamer from the old days, so this hit the spot, perfect. Just one complaint: its too difficult to make some of the simplest moves that are required. Like for the life of us we cannot walk past the barn to the left most of the time when we try. Why is it so difficult?!?! So frustrating.

Excellent game! It was fun discovering the story that unfolded as each puzzle was solved. We got stuck in one spot and had to resort to a walk through for a hint. The gameplay works well with a touch-based interface. The graphics and story are simple but that did not bother us. We wish the game had been longer but still feel satisfied with the experience we had for the price. We would buy a sequel should the developer choose to make one.

Cute, fun, and very short. Not a good investment if you expect more than an hour or two of play.

Very fun game with good puzzles, but for this price we would expect it to take longer to complete.

The art and story are promising. We especially enjoy the rhymes. But the opening is just so slow and tedious. Puzzles basically consist of trying each object with each other object, and its easy to miss some objects since nothing is highlighted. We have to do mundane chores for a long time, which is not a great hook. For people who are more patient than we am, there may be much to enjoy.

This game looked absolutely lovely. The animations seemed fantastic and the plot looked unique. We spent about 4-5 dollars on this game and went in with very high expectations. And what did we get? At max, four hours of game play and a somewhat disappointing plot. We have paid less money on longer, more developed games. The plot had amazing potential, and it was executed nicely, except for a few parts here and there. There were quite a few unanswered questions, and we can think of many places where the story could’ve been further developed. Things also seemed to move fairly quickly which is always a pet peeve of ours. Honestly, none of these things would’ve been an issue if it weren’t for the price. If it were $0.99-1.99? We wouldn’t even blink an eye at these problems. But $4? Really? The content we were given wasn’t nearly worth the price. We gave this two stars because the price and amount of content ruined the game for us. We loved the characters as well as many other aspects of this game, but a lot of potential was lost. .

The pixel art and intriguing premise made this game a must-buy for us, and we were not disappointed. The rhymes, which some reviewers found fault with, weren’t distracting in our opinion and added to the fairy tale-like charm. The puzzles were mostly on the straightforward side, and we finished the entire game in a very pleasant three hours with only a little frustration towards the end. But then, what is a classic point-and-click adventure game without any random pixel-hunting? We only wish the game were a little longer, so we could spend some more time with its charming world and characters!

We are so glad we found this little treasure! Please create more like this! A continuation?

Loved the art, the unique setting(s), the spunkiness of the main character. A wonderful game for fans of adventure. The last puzzle using items is very tricky, but most of it was standard adventure game fare, requiring the right amount of thinking outside the box.

It’s over in just a few hours, but it’s an incredibly entertaining puzzler for a cold winter afternoon.

This is such a beautiful, strange game. The simple yet enchanting graphics are only the beginning of its greatness. Its dialogue is entirely in rhyming couplets, and it pulls that scheme off magnificently. The writing is lush and wonderful. This game is so charming and heartwarming, and so fun. Playing through it just made us happy, and that’s the best thing we think we can say about any game. Please look at this game and try it out. You’ll be so happy you did.

Great little adventure game. It’s a clean polished work with its own unique personality. Recommended.

Super cute, fun, challenging and very immersive puzzle game. Luv u lykke.

We’ve never written a review before but felt compelled to now because there were so little reviews for Milkmaid. This game deserves recognition! The story line was very interesting and the visuals and music were great. We liked how you could get the back story through the characters journal, it made the story all the more intriguing and interesting. Also the difficulty level was perfect for us. We’re not great at game puzzles but eventually figured out the majority of this games puzzles on our own. To the developers and creator, wonderful job and hope you make more games in the future!

We loved it! It was worth the money!!! We were sad when we finished the game :( we definitely enjoyed the entire game.

Probably the best game we’ve played on the iPhone. Superbly designed and enjoyable. A nice reminder of the Monkey Island series.

If you like point and click style games then this one is a must buy.

Love this type of retro point-and-click. This game and Bik are two of our favorites. Keep them coming!!!

Just finished this game, it is an absolute delight! Beautiful thoughtful storytelling, a likable heroine, perfectly suited music — we are very impressed. We will be recommending to our friends and eagerly watching to see what Machineboy makes next.

This game really brought us back to some good ‘ol point N click era games. The rhyming added an artistic enjoyment to the game!

Great game in the Lucas Arts vein.

An absolutely wonderful little adventure game that’s brimming with charm. So much personality combined with fun puzzles and plot make the game a must buy. You won’t regret it.

The puzzles are perfectly challenging. Great storyline and characters. The retro graphics are awesome. One of our favorite mobile games ever. MORE PLEASE!!!

This game was one of the bet games we’ve ever played. It plays smoothly, the style brings back memories of older games, and yet the game seems crazier the further you play-trust me-you’ll love the ending. Some parts may be hard to figure out, but it’s a puzzle game!

We were sold on the comparison to Loom and Monkey Island – love those types of games. Milkmaid did not disappoint. Hard enough to feel challenging but never tedious. Great sound effects and nice graphics. Can’t wait for a sequel.

We loved how the lines rhymed and the animation was nostalgic.

Truly a game to remember. Up there with "Loom", "the dig" and the other classics… Feels right at home in our collection. Love this game.

A lovely game. We were so moved and enchanted by the dialogue and the story, and enjoyed the gameplay. Both intriguing and forgiving of mistakes it takes a little bit of the best we’ve many of our favorite adventure games and churns them together. Short and sweet and definitely worth a few dollars and a couple hours of your time. Highly recommended!
