Community Insight:
Ive had this on our iPad for a few years. According to the new Privacy info in iOS 14, this app is tracking its users. We can see collecting ANONYMOUS usage data to see how the app is being used, but we dont see any reason why that needs to be tied to our identity, or why games should be trying to track people in the first place, so … Deleted. Which is too bad, its a cute little game, a good way to pass a few minutes when Im sitting in a waiting room or whatever. If a future version is released which doesnt tie any information to our identity, Ill install it again.
Would give you zero stars if we could. We had a custom screen size, 11 buttons by 19, 40 mines, that exactly filled the screen so we didnt have to use the distracting and time-killing sweep left right up down to see the field. You need small-medium-large button size option. You need to get rid of the infuriating nag to turn on notifications. we DO NOT WANT NOTIFICATIONS FROM MY GAME APPS. You have ruined the app. What were you thinking.
Love the game, mostly play Difficult level without marking with flags. Won tonight; stat's say it was win #8 out of 0 games played. Hmmmm.
We dont know what improvements and bug fixes were supposedly included with the last update, but you really screwed up the apps responsiveness. The touch sensitivity is all squirrelly and glitchy now, with the board moving all over the place at the slightest touchI use it zoomed in because its hard to accurately tap squares on a big difficult boardwhich causes inadvertent taps to adjacent squares when trying to flag a ours square, and failure to clear squares when tapping. We dont even want to play this game anymore because the screen is so wonky and aggravating. Hate it so much. Please fix this issue, or Ill just go find a new minesweeper app from another developer.
This app used to run smoothly, but ever since the update, the app has been pasting messages from our copy/past every couple of seconds. No way am we going to use this app after this. On a separate note, the app also got super slow after the update, to the point where it's unplayable. We average 95 seconds for the biggest board, and now it's too slow. There isn't even a point to using the app now because it's impossible to beat our lowest score with the added lag from the update. We DO NOT RECOMMEND this app in its current state. Been playing for over 10 years. There remains an issue with the stats (the game thinks Ive played 10k games of medium when Ive only played maybe 20-30, but the 10s of thousands of games Ive played at difficult show as only 1500 or so). This has been an on-going issue the last few versions. This latest update (12/2020) has now severely impacted the performance of the game. Scrolling the game board is now very choppy and presses are delayed by as much as half a second. Im on an iPhone 11 Pro with nothing else running so there really is no excuse for that.
Always fun! Brings back fond memories of our childhood.
The gameplay is solid, you can zoom into and out of the puzzles, so far Ive not had any problems with stats either! And for most of the puzzles Ive not had problems, hence the 4 stars. There are only two outstanding issues with this game, the first is quite general: the beginning of a puzzle is a complete shot in the dark. Many have brought this up before, there isnt enough information if, say, only one square is unveiled, to know where you can click, so you just have to be lucky for the next click. Id say an easy way around this is to ensure that you can work through the whole puzzle opening from a corner, and ensuring there isnt ever a ours in that corner. In this way we wont lose games just because we didnt click correctly, and this certainly wont make the play easier considering how many untapped squares are left! The second issue is that sometimes the numbers are incorrect, Ive had a case where we lost a puzzle bc we unveiled a square that was adjacent to a 1 square that already had a guaranteed ours next to it. Then when the mines were unveiled there were two around the square that said 1! Had the square said 2 we obviously wouldnt have so nonchalantly unveiled the other square! But thanks for creating the app, other than the above its great.
When are successful it blocks the playing field with a message. We want to review it, stop covering the field.
We know that aides and corners count. We just encountered a square that had 3 in it but was touching 4 mines would be 5 stars if they fixed that.
This game was fine until a few days ago. We realized that we keep getting the same puzzle over and over again. Not every time, but eventually it comes back to that same one.
Would work better with a stylus. Our fingers arent precise enough.
The game is great. The advertising is horrible.
This app is very addicting!!! Cant seem to stop playing.
Good interface, but there were a few numbering errors. How?? That was oddly frustrating lol. Ive never seen that happen on any Minesweeper game, uninstalled.
Too many , ADAs jump to a demo mode of a kiddie game. Right most column not sensitive enough causing the home to game loss for that session. Very frustrating.
After playing infrequently, this app, which we thought was free, it began prompting us to purchase for 14.95. We tried several times to dismiss this purchase loop, and failed to break out of this. It was prompting us to purchase using a fingerprint approval. Without thinking, and trying to dismiss the process with a double tap to button and swipe, it instead announced purchase completed. Misleading UI, intentionally designed to trick you. Do not use this app.
Too bad about this one. We were enjoying playing it until it blasted out a noisy ad. Can't play this one in quiet places anymore. Deleting.
It seems ridiculous that we are able to make the squares twice as big on our iPhone 10 max than we can on our iPad mini 4. Youd think it would be the exact opposite. It makes playing the game on anything but a larger iPhone absolutely worthless. We love this game on our iPhone but have removed it from our iPad mini because the buttons are simply way to small to press accurately. The iPad mini should be the optimum sized device for this game as the larger iPads are too big and clumsy for this game. Currently, the larger iPhones are by far the best for playing this game but that would change if they incorporate the ability to make the squares larger on the iPads, especially the mini which would become the best machine for this game. Very disappointing game play on the iPad mini.
Our favorite game! Challenging and fun.
Best minesweeper game for IOS.
…It can be annoying getting started. Blind luck on getting to a point where you can actually start. Many times it can take four to five tries which is needlessly frustrating.
Love it. Is it possible to add sound or haptic buzz when the mines explode.
After the update it asks for age confirmation. But before any age can be inserted, it shuts down and wont restart.
Too long of a transition between games. Doesnt show mistake on bad guess.
We love this game except when you blow up it changes screens and we cant see what happened.
Im still enjoying this we never knew this was math.
This version of minesweeper has many bugs that cause us to lose even if we didnt to anything wrong. Its better to just download one of the countless of other minesweepers on the App Store.
The upgrade is a disappointment, not an improvement, because: 1. The app often hangs up for 60 to 90 seconds, nothing can be done until the app reengages. 2. When you crash by hitting a ours, the closes instantly, so theres no way to determine why you made an error.
We've had this Minesweeper app for a very long time and have really loved it. The latest update added a pop-up "y game lost", which is super-annoying. Please take it away! Otherwise it's very good, plays smoothly, the new stat page is well thought out.
This used to offer simple, unobtrusive game play. Recent updates have made game play less enjoyable. First, they changed the flagging operation so that it would toggle all adjacent tiles. So, if your tap was a little off, you had to go back and reset a bunch of flags. Occasionally, it would erase tiles so that they appeared like cleared tiles. The latest updates adds a silly animation screen after each game. Then, after a tap, it pops up the settings panel which just gets in the way of starting a new game. Now, we are looking for a new minesweeper game whose authors know enough to focus on good game play without a compulsion to get all cutesy.
This upgrade is kind of confusing. We love the game. There should have been some notification on first start after upgrade.
When in flag function, you used to be able to click on the square with the number to have all unmarked squares touching it go down, to help you count how many you had left. Now, it changes any flags you have labeled into question marks, and adds flags to all unmarked squares. Change the function back to the way it was, the new way is awful and inefficient.
This app is very addicting!!! Cant seem to stop playing Just wish that it wasnt so glitchy and dont like the close up flagging.
Played Minesweeper then Minesweeper classic then classic 2 for many years.. Upgrading for a buck or whatever it was years ago has been way worth it. We have played 15k games at the hardest level since classic. Only win about 2%. One add popped up. Irritated by that. But maybe there wont be anymore. Love this Game. Our Advanced level win rate is up to 4%. We continue to learn little secrets about this game, even after nearly 20 years of play. 2022 update. Still playing after all these years. Using custom level. Made largest board and slowly worked up to 170 mines. Could not win at 170 mines. Tried for 6 months. Many hundreds of games. Came very close a few times but could not win. Dropped to 169 mines and won a game after 15 losses. We dont want to think how many millions of games we have played. The upshot to playing a difficult custom game is that the Hard level is relatively easy.
Wonderful game, makes you really think.
Idk whay to say And this is noel the guy that got the fastest beginner time.
The ads wont stop and theres no actual music in game and you cant zoom out on bigger ones.
Good game marred by overwhelming number of ads.
- Too many times do you have to make a guess (an either or guess move) to win a game after you have gone through all the moves to get to a win. Frustrating!!!! 2. It often takes too many times to be able to start a game successfully. We have gone maybe 15 minutes to be able to get to a good start of the game. This is very frustrating as you want to get playing and the bad starts go against your win percentage. 3. There are games which are impossible to win unless you make proper guesses. No matter how much you try to figure out a move to continue on, there is no proper move that can be made without a guess. An example of this is putting a bunch of mines together in a corner. 3. Your percentage of winning would go way up if you could eliminate 1, 2 and 3 above. We like the game when you can think through all the moves without the game deciding whether you win or lose.
No longer allow option for writing initial for high scores.
We made the purchase to remove ads a couple of years ago, and at some point it lost our purchase and wouldnt let us restore. We opted to purchase the ad removal again (initially marked $0.99) and when the purchase screen populates, its actually $15.00 TO REMOVE ADS WHY. The two prompts are different and its a bit misleading.
This app needs a undo feature for fat thumpers like us.
Advertising appears after every game and stays on for seconds. What a waste of our valuable time. You steal our time from us. We will no longer use this program.
Just had a game where the surrounding ours count conflicted, turns out we guessed wrong as to which count was correct.
It gives you epic sunglasses emoji when win.
Much fun Im 74 with adult onset ADD THIS GAME HELPS MY sense of observation and analysis.
Wonderful classic game but too difficult to tell which tool is selected.
The new app doesnt let us type our name and dates for our high score. It doesnt even keep our high scores. Liked it better when we first bought it. Every time it updates it erases our scores and gets worse Its better at keeping our scores now but not logging our total games played in the right places. Im afraid our app will update and erase our awesome high scores.
This Mindsweeper app is like the good old classic game from yesterday years. A+++.
