Community Insight:
We enjoy this game. We can play it on our phone or with the family. Gets everyone think together. The song gets a little repetitive. Thats our only issue.
We were absolutely enthralled by this game for a month, until we completed every level with the highest rating. Would definitely buy a sequel.
We got three stars on every level and we loved it the whole time.
Really fun game. Hoping they make more levels.
We have solved every level. Using only logic (no luck needed), you can beat every single one. This game is an absolute blast, and we highly recommend it.
Amazing game that masters that just one more mechanic.
Youll love this game. While it can be easily beaten by someone experienced with this type of game, the charm and detail make the journey thoroughly engaging. A charm all around and worth the price. Highly recommended.
Someone finally made a more complicated version of minesweeper thats fun.
A very inventive game. We think its a bit too simple, that being said we couldnt stop playing it until we finished. It could use a few more rules to mix things up, it seems like the learning curve flattens out pretty early on. Its also quite short. Id be very excited to play a sequel that can build off this great concept. Worth every penny.
It just needs more levels. This is a captivating game.
Thoroughly enjoyable from beginning to end. Extremely creative concept, no bugs, ads, iap, etc. Achievements make this game a lot of fun to play. Its basically a combo of Minesweeper and Picross. Solid production values, About 195 levels. Addictive. 5/5.
Incredibly well designed and smooth. We love that there is no guessing like to original minesweeper. The only thing that could be improved would be a helpful counter for the width and height of the grid.
We wish there was a way to mark a tile as clear, like in other logic games such as Parks. Other than that, we love it.
Really enjoyed playing this game. Challenging, but not too difficult. We hope they update with more levels soon.
Loved everything about this game! Please tell us there is more coming.
A great mix of puzzle and strategic thinking with a little bit of maze exploration thrown in for good measure.
Its like Minesweeper had a baby with Sudoku. Its cute, well-made, runs lightning fast, and addictive as heck. Would love more levels.
This game is great. Reminds us of Picross. Now we just have to go back and 3 star all the advanced levels. Would love if there was a way to mark spot with no bomb. Also maybe some unlockables. Even just skins to change the genius appearance.
We saw this was the game of the week on TouchArcade, so we picked it up. Great game with well thought out puzzles. Each time you play a level it is a different set up, so it has unlimited levels. We highly recommend this game.
If you loved the deductive reasoning of Minesweeper, youll love this.
Fun, quick levels that provide a decent, but not frustrating, challenge. Lots of replayability. Of all the games Ive purchased from the App Store, this is by far our favorite. Some suggestions: Id love to see larger levels and some new play mechanics added. A level editor would be fun, too. We could share our levels online.
Great mashup of minesweeper and sudoku. A whole lot of fun.
Brilliant game to pass by the time.
Really great take on the classic. Would love to see whats been asked here already. Option to set blocks as clear. And would really love an option for a classic board.
The puzzles are just hard enough that it feels like an accomplishment when you finish one, but not so hard that youre ever left completely stumped. MOAR LEVELS, PLEEZE.
Thought it was going to be too easy at first, by the 4th stage the difficulty picked up enough to be challenging. Great work.
We love minesweeper! This version was fun to play although wish there more levels and harder levels! Gave it 5 stars anyway because we really enjoyed playing and its really hard to find a good minesweeper game.
Its a great game, though its a little short at the moment. The puzzles are very easy, only took a couple of days to finish everything with three stars (playing for an hour or so each day). The game boasts being able to create an unlimited number of randomly generated levels, so how about some sort of unlimited level mode where levels could become progressively more difficult.
Very fun, logical puzzles, nice art style. We think this is our favorite picross and minesweeper game on iOS. Highly recommended! Only request: please make an option to mark safe tiles, just like you can flag mines.
Phenomenal puzzler, well worth the low price. If we had any sort of quarrel whatsoever we would echo other requests to mark a block as clear when it's outside of Aristotle's reach, but that doesn't detract from the solvability of the puzzles at any point we've encountered after beating all levels on normal.
If youre looking for that one review that convinces you whether you should buy this app or pass on it: Buy it. Youre welcome. (PS Devs. We want two things: more levels and an option to mark clear, sweepable spaces. Thanks. Epic game.).
It would be really great if we could turn off the blinking lights on the spaces adjacent to the genius, that is, those where he can move. They're quite annoying in the advanced levels. We often find ourselves wanting to mark spaces that we know don't have a bomb! Unfortunately we don't see any good way to do this in a touch interface. This is a great game and fun and cute.
You should add a level creator and be able to play levels that other people make.
Good work. One request. Can we get a way to mark a block as clear? Thanks.
This game is perfect, as evidenced by the fact that it hasnt been updated once since its release. Thats amazing, but it also makes one wonder whether new levels are forthcoming. This game gets a perfect score but stars degrade with time. One great thing about this game is that levels are generated at random, which is fortunate, because it allows us to replay MS-1 through -5 daily. But we wish there were N, O, P, Q.
Im a big puzzle game fan. This is a pretty decent puzzle game, Im enjoying it so far. Its been incredibly easy so far so hopefully it gets a bit more challenging without just becoming a guessing game. Im a bit disappointed because its missing some basic minesweeper features that would improve the game. First off, you cant mark a square as clear? You can only mark with a flag or not. This is our biggest gripe, its really annoying we cant mark a square as clear (meaning no ours). Second, placing flags does not adjust the number of mines in a row/col shown on the side of the board in the light bulb things. It would be really nice if they updated as you place flags. The game is basically just minesweeper with a few twists so the lack of basic minesweeper features is a turn off (marking squares clear is crucial), and we think Ill check out a different minesweeper game and maybe return to this in the future.
Would be really helpful if there was haptic feedback when placing a flag. We also agree that a marked as clear option would be nice. We found this game first on Nintendo Switch and the flag mode/move mode feature is kind of nice too (dont have to worry about accidentally moving onto a bomb).
If we remember correctly, the game has 185 levels (130 regular, 55 advanced), which amounts to a minimum of ~5 hours of gameplay. The puzzles are not fixed, either. So, if you complete a level (or mess up during one), you can just refresh the level to get a new arrangement. Aside from the randomness of the puzzle generation, the colors/visuals and sound are the best aspects of the game. The facet of the game we found most annoying was the mechanism to place flags, which requires you to press and hold. Sometimes, the game doesnt register the hold on an adjacent square and thinks you want to move there…which can need to the sweeper getting toasted. We would have much preferred a toggle switch so that flags could just be placed with a tap. (Also helpful would have been a third toggle option to place a third maybe a flag or bomb is here type of token for helping map out possible future pathways. We found the game relatively easy to complete, but there are some necessary instructions for the game (that we dont remember being in the tutorials) for those of you coming from a strictly minesweeper background, as youll often find yourselves in a situation where you cant logically figure the correct path forward (unless you solve the entire puzzle on a piece of paper at that point). First, if you have the option to move to a square with a symbol on it, always move to it. Second, if none of the surrounding squares have a symbol but theres one that you know cant have a bomb on it, always move to it. Third, if neither of the first 2 steps apply, if one of the surrounding squares would lead to a dead end, dont move to it. There were rare instances where none of these 3 applied and it was basically a guessing game choosing 1 of 2 possible squares, but, if you err, you can always just refresh the level to get a new puzzle arrangement if youre like us and nothing less than 3 stars will suffice. 8^).
Super clever, very fun. Gets a bit redundant but overall a clever twist on the old Windows standby Only complaint is that on large boards (eg, 13×8) the boxes are so small that its very easy to fat finger mistakes.
Great game. We love this game, although we hate the snoring. We like the sound effects except the snoring So we have to mute the game. The snoring is annoying. Sometimes you have to guess about squares/mines and that shouldnt happen in minesweeper. Ive played all the levels and would love more levels.
Loved it. Only problem are the special tiles that honestly don't do much. As you play you don't really strategize but simply follow a set of rules you come up with after playing for a bit.
Good spin on minesweeper. Two suggestions: – Allow marking of clear tiles. – Change level layout. Advanced levels were fun, but being required to do 10 super easy levels in between the 5 interesting levels is a little off-putting.
Theres a weird logic to this game, where you dont have to always prove that a move is safe. If a move is the only one open to you, its OK to take. So sometimes youre proving this move is definitely safe, other times youre proving other moves are unsafe, so the only remaining move must be safe.
This game really needs an update with additional levels as we sped through it quickly. That being said, we clearly enjoyed it.
First few worlds are unique but that wears off. Still enjoyed enough to finish and would recommend.
Let us just start by saying all we do is puzzle games. And we never write reviews for apps. Picross and minesweeper have consumed us to the point where when hours/days go missing, it's from those type of games. Anyhoo, to find a kind of melding if the two was amazing. We love this game! Here is what needs to be fixed: Can we have a button so when you tap squares it is either a clear or a flag. To hold down the square until the flag pops up slows the game flow. There are too many situations where you have to make a guess. In normal picross and minesweeper there is no guessing. To us, this makes your game seem buggy and is infuriating to us since we will re-start the level because we won't continue without 3 stars. The little arrows that move everything around is an awesome twist. Can we have a couple more different ones to shake things up? Your little sweeper man is annoying. You're trying to mark flags, slowly, and he falls asleep in a second. Stop that! It's not necessary. Change the character every few levels or something. Even a color scheme change every so often would make it more interesting. Other than that, we are obsessed and it will be hard to tear us from your game for something else. Thank you so much for your creativity!!! Make more levels.
Good game for passing the time. Its not overly difficult but some of the puzzles can be a little challenging.
Sweet little game. Super well made, lots and lots of fun. Too easy and we finished it in two days.
It's missing the ability to mark tiles that are safe, that's a huge issue. And the puzzles just aren't challenging enough. Need to make some hard and extra hard ones to keep it fun.
To mark blocks as clear. Thats the only thing keeping this from a five-star review.
