Community Insight:

We like it because its really fun. Its not too complicated and we are happy when we make our record at it.

Still a good game after all these years, but after updating our iPad to iPadOS 26, the app doesnt behave as well as it should. In particular, the app no longer covers the full screen, even if you try to stretch it to do so. And when you want to exit the app, you cant just flick it up and out of the way anymore; you now have to use the red or yellow button in the corner. We suspect theyll never fix that, as the app hasnt been updated in four years, but maybe Ill be pleasantly surprised.

At a certain point you end up having to guess between two squares where the ours is and both could be it because the game isnt solvable. Our luck is extremely bad and Ive only guessed right once. Waste of time when that happens. Please fix that like maybe something that understand both are safe options due to the tiles around it.

Update Version 1.46: Ad placement changed. Its now just as annoying as any other app. 5 -> 3 Original Review: we just wanted to add a rare appreciation: we like the ad placement in this app. Placing an ad before starting a new game is the best place to do it, because Im focused on the game Im about to start so we wont be as easily convinced to quit the app. Many other games place the ad after a game ends, when Im still deciding whether we want to play another game. That little irritation is often enough to make us stop playing in other games, but in this one we feel like the ad is our small payment to access what we really want, which is another game. We do request that you remove all ads that play sound automatically. Its a huge turn off for an ad to stop the background music we were playing with.

Tired of increasingly annoying ads. Betting ways to occupy our time online. Deleting app.

Before the last update, we would have said this was a great game. But ever since the latest update, ours squares will frequently explode even as we hold our finger down to identify them as a known ours.

An old game that just never gets old. Still entertaining after all these years. We like the different screens for a change of color and environment and excitement.

Classic minesweeper exactly like we wanted.

It started last week with distracting slot machine as at the bottom of the screen that continue to roll and flash while youre trying to solve the puzzle. Now we cant even access the puzzles because its stuck on an ad for poker. Every time we try and hit the X to close the ad it takes us to a website. So Im no longer able to play the game until we guess we have to delete this app and reload it to get that ad off the screen to allow us to play. Except for that Im having a blast with it.

Original and a timeless puzzle that is fun to play.

Fantastic game. Commercials are over whelming when the screen goes black. Shame on you for spoiling a great game.

We love this game but we love our family better because they are our favorite family but we sill love this game.

Got a new iPad and grabbed a couple new minesweepers just to see whats out there. This is still the best, plays clean/responsive, lets you play nice and fast, classic colors are easy to read, ads are not obnoxious, sounds on tap are functional and not annoying to hear countless times. Been on each apple device Ive had since its existed and doesnt look like thatll change any time soon.

Make you think and you are in control.

Varied levels. Best minesweeper out there.

Im so hooked on this game. We love it.

Maybe a challenge mode? That is harder but still good game.

To many times in expert level that you have to guess where the ours is. Waste of time when 80% of the time your losing by having to guess 5 times throughout the game. Odds are stacked against you.

Too many ads. It was livable until ones for the NRA started. Deleted.

We have lost track of the times we have been playing, was interrupted and had to go to the Home screen to save the game, only to come back and have an ad play. When we exit the ad and go back to the game, all we see is a black screen! We enjoy this game and the layout is great, but we wont give it more than one star until this is fixed. Im willing to accept ads, but NOT when they wreck our games.

This has been messed up since the last iOS update.

This game should have been retired 10 years ago. These adaptations do nothing to make this remotely interesting.

Updates killed decent app. Constant ads that dont allow you to play until they were over made it unusable. We dont typically mind ads on the bottom but this became ridiculous. Deleted.

Loved this on our computer, now the app is our new favorite! Relaxes and challenges at the same time. We play daily! Thanks for keeping a good playing game available.

Started playing this game over 25 years ago before it was replaced with fancier, flashier games. But there is a reason why it never went away. Has been our go-to game since downloading the app.

The best version of minesweeper in the App Store.

Our favorite game. Also have similar game on our HP calculator.

This is a pure logic game and can be played in a few minutes. We find occasional situations where only a guess will work, but it is fun and quick.

This is a classic and luckily the ads are not too intrusive.love it.

We have 3239 games logged and we still play regularly. God tier game.

A great way to clear your head and relax.

Just as others have said… It's an oldie, but a goodie. We're borderline obsessed.

Easy to use and fits iPad screen to help when playing larger grids.

This will get you thinking! Love it.

Nice simple game, you can't win-em-all. Keeps you playing.

Really enjoy playing this game! Relaxing yet challenging.

We love this game! Lots of customization, nice UI, and it's free :).

We've tried a few free versions of this classic, and this is the best we've found.

We used to play this all the time when we were about8 or 9 on our grandpas computer. We never knew how to play it till we were 20 and we're 25 now and now that we understand how it's a lot of fun.

We have hated this game for years when we played it on computers and never won a single game. Tonight our daughter explained the rules to us and now we hooked winning several games in a row.

So much fun to play! It's like the real Microsoft minesweeper! It's even customizable.

We just recently learned how to play this game and really enjoy it.

Thanks to you people that make these kinds of game. You all thanks.

The game is great, and Spica's creation and execution is excellent. Not much more needs be said.

It's hard to improve upon the classics. We remember discussing this with our brother when we were in our early 40s and computing was much simpler. It's still so much fun! Thanks for bringing it back.

Our husband taught us to play this on the computer many years ago. It is still as addictive and fun as ever.

We should give this a 1 because it's so addictive, but that's not the developer's fault. This version of minesweeper is exceptional.

We never get bored with minesweeper, and we've played more than 6000 games. It's totally addictive and sharpens our thinking.

Brings back memories. Fun. Caution- can be addictive.

This game has been around forever but never learned how to play it until our boyfriend took time to explain it to us . Now we're loving it.
