Monument Valley 2 Reviews
Artistically stunning. Little to no flaws.
We loved everything about both MV1 and MV2. The music is awesome and design is stunning. We have been playing both games over and over again and we never got tired of them.
We love this game so much. We love the puzzles & we can never get over how beautiful it is. We also love that its relaxing while working out your brain. Aaaaalso love that their is a story. 10/10.
Im not into games but really enjoy puzzles. Both 1&2 were spectacular! The games are just so beautiful, colorful and the music is soothing. The 1st game is challenging but the 2nd was so quick to get thru it took us less than a day. Our daughter and sons are playing it now so its fun to talk about them together.
This was the best puzzle game with the best music and the off the chart graphics. We really hope the will be a third one.
We love monument and we love monument 2.
The first monument valley is just awesome Love these mazes and problem solving puzzles we wish this company would make another MV3 but this here we had stored and played it a few years back. We are now at the age where we and our husband are empty nesters and this MV2 moved us we finally understood what was happening with the mother and child Letting go and letting the child learn to make it on their own Second time around and it had us emotional Thank you for making a wonderful game The artwork is lovely and the colors and music are so calming we love MC Escher and this reminds us of his work Make more please.
When we can get the finale of this trilogy:)
Our personal rating is a 3/5 stars, but we cant in good conscience rate such a beautifully created game backed by a hardworking developer team with such amazing art and music that horribly officially. If you want a good experience we recommend either only playing Monument Valley the Original or playing this one first before playing the original. It might give you a few aha! Moments and this game will ease you into the first one. Monument Valley 2 is to us a almost entirely remodeled game aimed at kids, with only slight references to the 1st game. It is so unbelievably easy we can solve most puzzles with little to no thinking and the story is so (much more) straightforward and obvious compared to the first game. The game was so unbelievably easy and the levels were so short or streamlined that we found the whole thing a little irritating. The graphics are also a lot simpler than the original one, which had huge complicated structures and beautiful backgrounds. This one has solid colors as the background, with skinny camels for structures for your character to walk on. Although it is understandable though because too much on the screen to focus on may confuse younger audiences, it is frustrating to go through. All in all a very simple game, the first one took a considerable amount of time to complete, as for this one, we spent about an hour and a half, mainly limited because of the time it takes to walk through the puzzles. Taking time to think took significantly less time than walking everywhere.
This game is amazing. We have fun a lot but sometimes it just pays to be serious. This game is a break from life, a confusing puzzle with beautiful art, sometimes this game just helps us get out of a bad place. We believe in supporting the people who worked so hard to make this game, so dont say its expensive cause they spent a lot of time on this game. Overall this game is the best, so to the creators. :))))
We enjoyed both games so much. We found our daughter playing one day and decided to purchase them myself. They are so fun. We just hated when it was over.
There’s game 1 there game 2 but no game 3 instead you made a lost forst us and our son want game 3.
It tells a good story, but that doesnt mean its a good game. Its beautiful and the sounds are amazing, but as a puzzle game it falls far short of the original and the add-ons. It feels more like being told a story with minimal gameplay, which is disappointing.
Im sad to say how disappointed we were in MV2. We absolutely loved the first one and we’ve been taking breaks in MV2 to go back to MV1 even though we just played it. MV2 is very unsatisfying and we do not like the cut scenes at all. Theyre pointless and annoying. We just want to solve some puzzles! MV1 had some really good challenges, MV2 have no challenges whatsoever. Im guessing it would be the right challenge level for 3rd grader and they would probably enjoy the cut scenes as well. If youre getting this for a kid its probably a great choice! If its for an adult just know its nothing compared to MV1. We so hope they will come out with a 3rd one that has lots of challenges!
It says best played with sound, but the game is completely silent. Sound is on in the settings, maybe it only plays with headphones?
Simple, it was a waste of money. Levels too short, story line confusing, not challenging enough.
We always loved playing this as a kid, we were done with it and when we saw a prequel for it we basically exploded. Good game high quality.
We cant stress enough how much we love this game! We have never given a game a 5 star review, but you deserve it! We love the sound a lot but wish that the new chapter The Lost Forests music was in Apple Music. The graphics are simply stunning and breathtaking! We personally like that Monument Valley and Monument Valley 2 have not been copied and that you didnt copy another game. Its original, creative, beautiful, and satisfying. The puzzles arent unsolvable, there are no adds, and so much more! We love the story of the mother and daughter and the storyline, Monument Valley had remarkable soundtracks, graphics, and an understandable storyline. We also liked that once you finished the main levels, you could still do Forgotten Shores and Idas dream. We loved that Totem was still in this game and thought it was a nice touch. Thank you for this time! 9 yr old.
We enjoyed the arts & beautiful characters in puzzle game.
We do not like the part where mom and daughter get separated, but thank you ustwo games!
Honestly, we don’t understand what people are complaining about. The new game mechanics and animations introduced here are just as mind-blowing as the first game. We thought the story aspect here was compelling and well-presented; quite interesting having to manipulate both characters as the game progresses. Overall, perhaps it could be a bit more challenging but this did not detract from our enjoyment level. We are astonished at the level of care and craftsmanship that has gone into this game and pray that there is another installment around the corner. P.S. Thank you publisher for offering the game on sale!
This game has good visuals, but is a little short and not very replay able. We appreciate the new update with the forest, but it is still short. We got this when it was free, and it was good. Just add a little more replay ability.
We would love to play this, since we played the entire Monument Valley on our IPad. But we are disabled and need landscape mode so we can play on our IPad set upright on its stand. This is a beautiful game and we love your forest preserve concept, so please please make it easier for us to play. Thank you!!
We love monument valley, we really do. But what has happened to the cleverness, the difficulty, the head scratching puzzles that made the first game what it was? The first game had a main story, forgotten shores, and idas dream. There were some hard puzzles in the main story, harder puzzles in shores, and the hardest puzzles in idas dream. Each section of the game built off the last in terms of difficulty, in the way platforms would move, in the way the world would visually bend to your finger. Monument 2 is completely devoid of any challenge whatsoever. Some levels of the game have proactively no puzzle whatsoever, and youre limited not by your ability to think in the MC Escher world, but by the walking speed of the character. The recent expansion (I use this term very loosely) for the game got us excited. Wow, 4 new levels since the game was released! Theyve had all this time to think of clever puzzles and unique ways the world can hide a solution. Imagine our disappointment when it wasnt 4 levels, but rather one level with 4 transitions, and that it has the same difficulty as the third level of monument 2. The difficulty of the puzzles was never something anyone complained about in 1, so it makes no sense to us why it was removed. We know monument valley 3 is in the works- we sincerely hope that it wont become the boated brain-dead mess that 2 is.
Not much more to say. This game is great. Easy to grasp but full of challenge. Beautifully designed and executed. Please, please make more like this.
We LOVE THIS GAME THE PUZZLES THE STORYLINE IS UNFORGETTABLE HET MV 1 AND 2 we RECOMMEND IT.
The best optical illusion game.
Only complaint is the levels are too easy and not many levels, though understandable due to the high quality each level probably took months to create. A beautiful game also lovely story about a child learning to be independent and a mother learning to let go.
We love monument valley 1 and 2 they are both amazing games. We love how you can make your own shapes its a fun touch (even though ours always end up looking ugly). We love these games so much and wish for another to came out.
Design: beautiful designed game Gameplay: game pay was very soothing and easy going. Length: short game, finished the game in 3 days.
It is amazing but short , we hope you add new levels.
We have both Monument Valley games. The first one blew us away because of how colorful and creative it was. This one blew away even further. It keeps the same physics, but it makes them smoother and adds new elements to the game such as the plants that expand in the light. The color on the first game was great, but this is a whole other level of colorful. With our new iPhone XR, we can see every color and this game takes advantage of every one of the iPhones great features. Some of our friends ask us why we would spend $5 on a mobile game, but this is truly something special. Its totally worth the money. We would recommend this game to anyone who likes puzzles and optical illusions.
Love this game! Best game on the App Store. So relaxing and interesting. One question. Wheres Monument Valley 3?
Its a great game with great designing . The only bad thing is few number of levels. We finished quickly :(.
This is by far our favorite iOS game. Please we need more!!! Lol.
The Game even though challenging is fun and the art work is Beautiful and simplistic.
We DOWNLOAD THIS PART IN 2 DAYS AND NOW we FINISHED we LOVE THIS GAMEEEE LITERALLY IS THERE GOING RO BE PART lll ??
It is so great they should make a third monument.
Amazing game. Incredibly peaceful and puts you at ease. Thank you for making it free for all customers during the COVID-19 crisis. We will be purchasing the first game after playing this one.
A fun puzzle game that we got our 5 year old son into also.
We loved this game so much. Its more than a game. Its a story, its an animated film, its an emotional art piece. We’ve never written an app review and we dont really know what else to say….. This lovely game is absolutely worth the money, as is Monument Valley and the 8-level add-on for that game.
We can easily play but its kinda tricky.
Yall know the cutscene in the first game when Ida turns into that white crow, more like, when some one opens a bag of Doritos. :D.
THIS MADE ME CRY!! We love this game and the story is so emotional as it made us think about our relationship with our mom and how much she has done for us! Love this game! Please make a third!
These puzzles are so serene and mesmerizing.. Cant get enough.
Gorgeous! Challenging and visually stunning. Hated to see it end.
We loved the first game and the second one lived up to it, more heartwarming stories with life lessons and an amazing desing. Cheers to the creators!
We absolutely love this game!! Please make a third!!! We soo recommend.
We think this app and Monument valley 1 are two of the most beautiful games we have ever played. But we have a suggestion, maybe you could create a room (in the game) where you could change the characters clothes so the child would be a different color than red. Ok bye AMAZING GAME.
