We liked this title as it's an interesting storyline and very straightforward. We've played hops for a few years now, progressing to longer more complex games (when they were being made more regularly) but we still go back to games like this for an enjoyable break. This is a game well suited for new players in the HOPS-Puzzle genre. It hits all the marks for finding and using inventory items such as the ever present umbrella for lowering ladders and the puzzles arent mind-bendingly difficult. Nice way to pass a rainy afternoon.
Really enjoyed it . Just hard enough to make it fun.
We always like detective series and this was a fun escape. Great scenes and games. Keep them coming.
Very fun little game, no problems or glitches for us. This was just pure escapism playing detective, perfect way to spend a few hours. The puzzles were varied, the graphics attractive, and we didn't find the game to be short but normal length. Keep these coming, will look forward to the next one.
Please make these games longer.
UPDATE: July 1 Elephant will put the Royal Detective Series on sale for 30% off for the month of July. At the end of the week, they will release Chimeras 11: Cherished Serpent and at the end of July they will release Haunted Hotel 19: Lost Time. We never knew a pit was called a pip in England. Truth be told, we found this game to be a bit dull. It was extremely brief for the price, which we have complained about to Elephant time and again. We are in the midst of a pandemic, people have lost their jobs, and you are charging us a lot for a game that is very short. In addition, although the map functioned properly as far as teleportation, sometimes the map marks were incorrect. There were very few puzzles/mini-games and not as much to accomplish at each location. The gameplay itself was good, except there was not enough of it. The HO scenes showed some variety, but were not very innovative. We guess this game was not our cup of tea, proverbially speaking. Our true rating is 3.5 stars, and we removed stars for length, pricing and lack of innovative elements. It wasnt a terrible game but we prefer Grim Tales, Paranormal Files, Detectives United and Haunted Hotel. Stay safe, everyone and happy gaming! Elephant is starting to pay attention to the comments about pricing and is considering making a change the 1st of August. We suggested that they not wait but we dont know what they will decide yet. It would really help if some of you guys would write to Elephant Games and voice your concerns in regards to length and pricing. We cannot do everything for you! If we hear anything else just look at our review on the newest Elephant release we get.
Main game was really short. Bonus game hangs up in Suzys bedroom on a HOP in which there are no more objects to find, but it keeps sparkling and you cant move past it to finish the game. Very disappointing. Not up to Big Fish standards.
