A clean, simple and modern take on the classic BOGGLE® word game.
Like the BOGGLE® game, players must find as many words as they can on a muddled board. The longer the words, the more points you get! You can either play single player and play against a timer or play with friends using the pass-and-play feature to compete and see who comes out on top! You can also take part in daily challenges with people all over the globe and really put your word finding skills to the test!
Feeling proud of your score? You can share your Muddle game with your friends and let them complete the same puzzle board with the same timer and see who comes out on top!
Muddle currently has two game modes; Classic Board and Big Board. You can select between the two modes on the homepage.
- Classic Board is a 4×4 muddled board with a minimum word size of 3 letters.
- Big Board is a 5×5 muddled board with minimum word size of 4 letters. This game mode includes a new two letter tile featuring popular letter pairings such as: Th, He and In.
The simple and fast user interface makes starting a game quick and easy. We don't have any loading screens so you'll be able to jump right in!
This free word search game has two dice difficulties; classic dice and new dice. The variation of dice letter combinations that can appear on the muddled board creates new challenges for finding complicated and longer words, making your game a bit more challenging!
The game was built with themes in mind, you can change your style from anywhere within the app and there are loads of different free colour themes to choose from.

We enjoy the simplicity of this Boggle app. There isnt anything gimmicky about the game – leveling up, lives, ways to earn extra time/hints… Simply test your eyes and mind for a few minutes at a time. No frills, but in the best way. Updating the app with a daily puzzle challenge is fun way to see how your vocabulary and word-finding skills compare to others.
Who wants to play a game in which every time one clicks on play an ad comes up to block it – often 8 or more times we have to swipe it away.
We play this game a lot. Its fast paced and its easy to use. If youre a word person, you will love this game.

Great game! Better than most word games with similar objectives. Only thing is that we wish when we reviewed words we missed that we could tap a word for the definition.
The ads arent too bad. We do wish you could just start the next game straight away after seeing results without having to go back to the main screen.
We did like the clean design and gameplay, but we were disappointed that it is short on vocabulary. For example, tried din (a lot of loud noise) and it was rejected. We may try again in the future if the dictionary is made to be more expansive.
This game is great except for one problem and unfortunately its a big one. At least 2/3 of the worlds available are not real English words. They may be acronyms, initials, texting language, and some of them seem, frankly, to not be anything at all.
Doesnt include all words. There are many 3 and 4 letter words that are invalid while others score/count just fine. Its a real shame to because we liked the interface.
Exactly what we were looking for. A clean, straightforward Bogle app. No frills, just straight up bogle action. There is a 5 sec ad every other game or so, but we didnt feel like it was invasive or too much. Perfect amount of ads for a free app, plus each game is 3 minutes, so a 5 sec wait time every other game is not a problem at all.
Its pretty perfect. No extra junk.
A fun way to help increase vocabulary.
One of our favorite Boggle apps for iPhones. You can decide on your own timer. Would be even better if there was a more detailed scoring system, like telling you got 100 points out of 150 total. Also missing a button to rotate the board.
New version shuts off other apps music after ad. This will make us stop using this app. Letters in word lists are shrunk. Iphone 8 with larger font set. Need to see words correctly. Eg HEN looks like HFN. Bottom pixels not shown. Like the app. Short ads (if you must) are better than most. Will update review if sound and word list is fixed.
We expressed our disappointment with the inability to see the game board when reviewing the missed words and they added the feature within just a few days.
We paid the $2.99 to remove ads. Still getting the annoying ads for a game that kills fish. Not pleased. Tried to restore purchases…game says there are none. Tried to repurchase the remove ads feature. Apple says we already bought it and it will be restored. Never works. Just spinning circle of doom. Tried complete reinstall but no luck Good game but cant recommend due to sketchy ad removal fee and lack of delivery.
The original EA Boggle was amazing, but this is an acceptable substitute. The answers are often clipped so you can only see part of the words, both on phone and tablet. You cant replay a game. You cant look up the word definition. Those would be the big changes Id make. But compared to the audio visual assault of the official Boggle game with all the ads and challenges and crazy animations, this is the best Ive found.
Im used to playing 5×5 boggle and you just cant do much by comparison with 4×4 in terms of getting longer words.
We like it a lot. Its nice and clean. Theres very minimal ads that only come up occasionally when you start a new game. There is one feature we wish it had, and thats the ability to see the board alongside the words you missed at the end of the game. We feel like that would help us learn and improve faster.
We love the game, but we make a few suggestions. Allow the player to return to the board to see what he missed. Cumulate the scores.
Thanks so much for making this! We love boggle but when the old boggle app lost support and the Zynga one came around we couldnt play it on our phone anymore – just looking at the menu on that app gives us a headache. This is clean and its just Boggle, no stupid power ups or pay to win or bonus letters or whatever other nonsense. The only thing we would say is missing is some vibration maybe – we feel like the dragging letters and completing a word could be more satisfying that way. We do also wish we could view the board when shown the word list at the end, but its not a big deal. Im also not super clear on what the difference is between the easy and hard modes.
We wish there was a way to replay the board to see if you can find more words.
Love the design and style! We just wish the line showing the previous word would go away…its really distracting and makes it difficult to look at the board.
So we have searched long and hard for a simple boggle game to keep us entertained. This is it!!! Just swipe the words and when time is up, your words are at the top, colored, and the words you missed are listed in alphabetical order below. You have the option of pass and play, but if you are like us, this is for yourself and you don't have to wait for others to enjoy the game. Thank you for this great game.
