A Glimpse into Muhle and Mills

Also known as Morelles, Merrills, Merels, Mill, Morris.

Rules :

  1. Each player has nine stones, which move among the board’s twenty-four spots.

  2. The object of the game is to leave the opposing player with fewer than three stones or no legal moves.

  3. The game begins with an empty board. Players take turns placing their stones on empty spots. If a player is able to form a row of three stones along one of the board’s lines, he has a "mill" and may remove one of his opponent’s stones from the board; removed stones may not be placed again. Once all eighteen stones have been used, players take turns moving.

4. To move, a player select the stone and than click on empty adjacent spot. If he cannot do so, he has lost the game.As in the placement stage, a player who aligns three of his stones on a board line has a mill and may remove one of his opponent’s stones.

5. If any player is reduced to three pieces, his pieces may  jump from any spot to any empty spot.

  1. Any player reduced to two stones is unable to remove any more opposing stones and thus loses the game.

As far as we can tell this is a solid app that works well. There is no option to remove ads which is a problem for us. The ads are short though. Pros: works well, solid app, ads are short and rather unobtrusive Cons: ever present banner ad, no premium option to permanently remove ads.

Its too easy. Hard mode isnt hard at all please make six and nine mens morris much more difficult!

Whenever we start a game the background is black and we cant see the board whatsoever.

We really like this game. However there are a lot of glitches in it. Sometimes when we make a move another piece follows the one we placed. Also, after one game is over, you can’t continue with another. We have to start the game over from the beginning.

Tricky at first. Figure out the tricks. Fun game.

Love that strategy is involved!

Great light game to train your mind.

We enjoyed a lot playing the game an suggest.

Simple yet stimulating it works the brain the layout is easy to use So you can focus on strategy without distraction well done a classic.

It’s tricky at first but soooo fun once you understand it!

A fun, challenging, and ever changing game of skill.

This is a great game and we love playing it.

We’ve mentioned to friends that this game is like "Tic Tac Toe" with Many different strategic possibilities. It is a fun brain challenge.

We like the simplicity of this game. Still challenging though. We recommend it.

Decent level of strategy to the game and it’s functionality is pleasant but even on hardest difficulty the computer makes silly mistakes to give you the win. Need harder difficulty and one that doesn’t repeat the same strategy every time.

Played this for the first time yesterday, and we are now able to beat the computer on the hardest difficulty without much effort. Make it harder! Fun game though.

The instructions are cut off on ipad so we really have no clue how to play.

A simple representation of a medieval game. The constant reminders to rate the game are why we’re scoring this low AND removing it from our gadget.

Would b more fun to play w/Friends!

Stone movement need improvement Game intelligence need improvement.

It’s a great way to pass a few minutes if time. Brings back some memories!!

Hangs when iPhone can not make a move otherwise pretty fun.

Unfortunately it seems online play is not working or there is no one else playing the game.

Great game. Also free. The computer is a decent opponent, but beatable once you figure out strategy.

It’s a great game but it has some more updating.

Great app… It would be nice if it would be a game … Like dice with friends …. We would love to play this game with our FB friends !!!! :)

Kind of like an advanced game if tix tax toe. It drives us crazy when the computer beats us. It can occupy for us for quite a while.

Nice start for a classic game as an app. A few issues though. The alternating start function doesn’t work. Also, the computer ‘freezes’ on its turn frequently after we have made a good move, and we have to restart or refresh. Both issues occur on all difficulty settings, we have only tried one player however, so we do not know if they exist in two player mode.
