Description
Music Quiz is the quiz game built off of your library. Your music determines how you play and the visual style of the entire app!
Just like the original iPod classic, this game challenges your music knowledge as you try and get a new high score. Unlike the old game, this one is always changing. The visual design of the app changes based on what song you have playing!
Features:
- Different quiz types. Choose between: Song, Artist, Album, or Shuffle.
- Different modes: Play a normal round of 10, 20, or even 200, or play survival where one wrong pick ends it all.
- Choose what music you play: Don’t want to listen to that album your ex gave you? Filter it out!
- Jump right into a game with 3D Touch actions!
There is now a Lite version of the game with limited features. If your unsure if this is for you, give that one a try before buying this one.
Most of my updates and new features come from requests by users like you. If there’s a feature you want or something you don’t like, leave some feedback and I’ll take care of it.

This is really fun. The only reason we didnt give 5 stars is because iQuiz, which was free and included on the iPod Classic, is sooo much better, varying the types of questions and challenges and featuring a fun gameshow-style interface. Its ridiculous that decades later we have to settle for a much blander and more monotonous game. That being said, this is still very fun and totally worth the $.99, hence the four stars.
We loved the Lite version and wanted to try out the paid version to see how well we knew a specific artist, only to find the filter option doesnt work. It uses the selected artist for the first song, but doesnt after that. A little disappointing since thats why we paid for the full version, but still fun anyway!
Cause even when Apple tried to beat you at your game you still have the better product and Im making a strong case on our Facebook @Adam Mason (Im in a leather jacket and gold watch) and we want you to see that plus the recent feedback email we sent you with the article attached! Youre the best dude ! This is our go to game abouve all our games on our phone.
Its great to have this game and have the option to disable the iCloud music – making it the closest thing to the old Music Quiz game from the classic iPods. Couple things though: first, we need the option for more than 10 rounds – maybe 20 or 50, or even the option to set our own. Also, why do some songs have to play twice in the same round, especially when we have a ton of songs on our devices? Thats unnecessary and it definitely needs a fix there. Otherwise, this is a great game that Im pretty happy to have, especially to kill time. Thanks and great job!
We know the option to choose which songs you play with used to work, because there was a time we literally chose one artist and it only brought his songs up when playing the game. Now we have to use our whole library even after extensive filtering to play differently. Its still fun, but Id love to be able to filter out random karaoke tracks, etc. Again. It seems like its probably a glitch that can hopefully be fixed.

This is the answer that we were looking for when we decided to get the game, and yes, the full version is definitely worth the money. Would like the option to choose the amount of songs, but still rating it five stars because it deserves it. :)

We’ve been looking for a good, simple music quiz with questions based off our own library for literally years. Our old iPod nano had the game, and we’ve never been able to find one like it. This is the closest we’ve found in 10 years. We love it! Keep it simple, it is fun just the way it is.
Game needs to be customizable to number of rounds in a game. Needs customization to vary the number of choices available to determine which is correct to help with difficulty. Needs a mode where it plays a song and you must pick which album cover is the correct one for the song. Then it becomes 5 star all the way. Old ios music games had all this and more but sadly aged out due to updates in ios.
This app is possibly one of the only apps that uses your library. This is such a great start to what we see as a top music quiz app. Im excited that the developer has so much passion to make this the best app for the user. We cant wait to see how this app develops in the future.
This was our absolute favorite game in our old iPod classic so Im glad to see it ported here. Design is intuitive and syncs with your entire downloaded library.
We’ve had this app for a year and we have enjoyed but lately it wont play a game. Its like it is hung up. It plays the music but not a quiz.
Plays the music but it doesnt let you play. We want our money back.
Thanks for creating this. We missed this option on our current device! We like the different options for playing! It would be fun if you could throw in a game where we had to match the album art or maybe we had to figure out the year a song came out, however what is here is excellent and plays like a dream. Thanks again!
We love love love this game, everything is perfect except out of nowhere the songs will just stop playing in survival mode and we basically have to start over and hope it doesnt happen again. It usually does. Other than that, it is our favorite!!
This game delivers on the core premise, but it falls a bit short in a few areas. It has all of the basic options but lacks a few that would be nice, like round lengths or longer/shorter score timers. It also has a noticeable lag between each song, which hampers the flow of getting into the game. Finally, we’ve encountered a glitch several times where the round begins with a few seconds of silence, and then the score timer jumps to halfway and a song not in the selections begins playing. This game really doesnt have far to go to be excellent. One or two more features and some performance tweaks/bug fixes are all it would take, as the core of the game really is solid.

Edit on 12/2/2017: after the latest update, it plays about a second of the songs beginning, then jumps to a random part of the song. Its a bit awkward, but the game works again. Edit on 11/25/2017: we’ve been using this app for years, but we think the newest iOS update broke it. After playing the first song, every subsequent song starts playing at the beginning, rather than playing at a random part of the song.
We’ve been waiting for something like this that nearly rivals the original iPod Classic game… This is the closest we’ve seen! The only critique is we cannot find where to choose the number of questions in the normal quiz mode. Still, a few tweaks would make this an easy Five-star! Three recommendations: 1) add Date to the list of quiz types… The original had it and music buffs will appreciate it. 2) add Album Cover to the list of quiz types…a great visual addition. 3) enable selecting any combination of quiz types (for example, a person could quiz on just songs and artists but not albums). Great app… Keep developing!
Love this app. But for some reason the app crashes after we updated to the newest iOS release. Also your support page we think is dead. It goes to what we think is an unrelated site.
Awesome take on the classic game. Literally the only app that lets you guess from your own music library. Our only complaint would be that each round is only 10 songs. We would love the option to select how many, including an unlimited option. Performance, appearance, and ease of use are all spectacular. Awesome job!!
Does exactly as advertised, using the music you already have. The extra features for tweaking the game are a nice touch to expand on the premise of the original iPod game.
We had a similar app but it hadn’t been updated since 2010. It was getting super glitchy, so we were in search of something similar. We love this type of game when we’re not sure what we want to listen to and have some time. We highly recommend.

Does exactly what it says on the tin, and does it gorgeously. It’s speedy, beautiful, and it works. We especially like the way you can filter out music. It makes the game that much more enjoyable. We highly recommend it if you want a fun game with your music.
Well laid out app. Fun little time killer. Would love to see update allowing g multiple phones to connect with each other, perhaps via a casting device.

While we’re sad this game isn’t included in the phone like it was our original iPod, it is pretty close to the classic and we have a lot of fun guessing songs from the thousands we have in our playlists! Can’t believe we do so well!
This app is great, a very minimalistic design and great content. The music loads fast and we can see losing hours to this game because we are master of our (musical) domain.
We used to love this when it was on our old Ipod, now its back!
Need to be fixed you can’t finish a game without it freezing and exiting the app.

Great way to (re)discover part of our 10,000 song library! Well worth the price!
