Hear from the Players – Myths of the World: The Whispering Marsh – A Mystery Hidden Object Game (Full) Reviews

Find out what gamers are saying about Myths of the World: The Whispering Marsh – A Mystery Hidden Object Game (Full):

We are really enjoying this gem! The pretty graphics are fairly sharp and clear with finely detailed and intricately hand drawn scenes. The artwork is visually appealing; the color scheme is heavily dominated by a rich and vibrant blue/green shade that creates a mysterious, ominous atmosphere. The background noises appropriately elevate a level of suspense with the sounds of murky, swampy water drifting, the chirping of crickets, and the haunting calls of water fowl. You cannot customize your settings; this developer needs to update their standards to meet players’ needs. The inventory is labeled, interactive, and puzzle-like; items require assembly. The teleport map will indicate objectives or available actions depending on mode of difficulty; locations are labeled. The HOS are very interactive, multilayered, and consist of various types. The puzzles are creative, varied, and in sequence at times; we love the one where you create your path on the map while avoiding obstacles. You have collectibles; they can be well hidden. No glitches so far; transition between scenes is smooth and quick. Overall, it’s a highly interactive game with nice variety; and it’s a nice way to spend time.

We’ve not been a great fan of Eipix games for a few reasons but we have to admit we’re highly impressed with their last few games. This one turned out to be enlightening, loads of fun! Before it was two different Ravenhurst games that were just awesome! This game started to get heavy on the hos towards the end but they offer an alternative with mahjong. That’s our only complaint. Buy it! It’s a good one!

You won’t be disappointed.. More than the purchase price because of all of the extras.. We are a big mystery / puzzle player.. Way back to The Room one.. This game captivated us.. Never once got bored or frustrated.. If you just want HOPs.. Not for you.. If you want something to entertain and challenge your mind.. Then.. BUY it!!

We appreciate being able to go back for collectibles after finishing the game, and being able to replay HOPs in order to find morphing objects. The graphics in this game were truly beautiful.

Haven’t played very far, but am really enjoying this game. Good story line with great graphics. Glad we tried it.

Note to Gita Day: This is a series! There are 8 or 9 other Myths of the World games. Most of them were fabulous as well. Terrific game, EIPIX! Are you actually reading our reviews and taking them to heart? We think that’s the case, DTE, because first of all this game was longer than some of their previous ones, and had a lengthy enough bonus chapter. There were 3 levels of difficulty, but still no custom or left-handed mode. The graphics were haunting but beautiful, with lots of emerald, jade and other green hues (my favorite, as our eyes are green and exquisite!) There was no journal, but there were journal pages to find to keep track of the story. Objectives were regularly updated. At each location you must find a cleverly hidden acorn for an achievement. Loading was quick between scenes, and there was a marked (if so customized) teleport map to transport you. Inventory was labeled, and there were complex items to assemble. The HO scenes had some variety, and you could find morphing objects in some of them. As an alternative, there was mahjong to play. You have a magic lantern to use to dispel evil lights. We didn’t like the mini-game to use it though; it was a bit hard to manipulate. However, we liked a lot of the puzzles because they were a bit different than the usual boring rotational junk. We liked the one with the dice a lot, as well as the one where you have to find your way through a dark maze, and another where you must navigate a river while avoiding obstacles. It was a good mix of puzzles; there was something for everybody. We appreciate that the map tab was an in-game tab, which is something many of us have complained about to EIPIX. The hint system was of the non-spoiler type. Gameplay was smooth and we didn’t experience any glitches or crashes. Extras included wallpapers, souvenir room and a lore book. No rodents except for in an HO scene. So EIPIX we are being generous with stars today! Lynxie sends to the DTE, especially Dracyy and KimTwilight! Thanks for having our back and looking out for rodents!

Eipix did a great job on this one. Crisp graphics, unusual story line, collecting acorn amulets in every scene, morphing objects in some HOP and mahjong if you don’t want to do the HOP. Interactive transporting map. Chasing ghostly apparition who is killing people in the marsh and capturing their souls. No vermin so far that we’ve seen but we’re not done yet. Verdict is buy!

This game keeps your interest and the graphics are gorgeous! We never write reviews but had to on this game. Please make this a series.

No issues. Got a little dull so we were hoping for it to end sooner than it did. Overall worth paying for.

We are enjoying this game very much. We played it before so we have to try to do a better job.

Interesting story, very long gameplay, objects too small on iPhone 8 though.

We have enjoyed all of the of the Myths of the World Series. Mostly because the stories were as compelling as the game play. But this game’s plot was confusing and only seemed to string together the hidden object and other puzzles. Cmon, the story is what makes it myth worthy. You can do better than this.

Our rating is closer to 3 1/2 stars, but we’re rounding up because (a) we liked the complex HOPs, (b) the developer went the extra mile with collectibles, and (c) we may be too critical because we personally found the game dull. The plot never really crystallizes, and the ending to the main game is abrupt. The bonus chapter is very brief, so it doesn’t make up for the shortcomings of the storyline. However, the graphics, cut scenes and soundtrack are well done, and there is a good blend between HOPs and minigames. Most of the HOPs involve multiple steps, and they are a strong positive for the game. Also, the developer provided not only a set of collectibles, but souvenirs that you can gather from designated scenes after you have completed the bonus chapter. The controls need some work. Difficulty is not configurable. Touch sensitivity for items and movement is erratic. On the whole, this was a game that we looked forward to finishing, so it’s difficult to say that we recommend it. If you can buy it on sale, you may find it worth your time.

Good game, but one of the shortest bonus chapter’s we’ve played.

Good game. Great graphics, storyline, character development, interactions, etc. Cons: words are tiny and unable to see what items were actually being picked up. Prices of games should be a lot like it use to be, not these prices of $4-7 a game. Change those items and you might have a decent game.

We used to love Big Fish games, but now there are pop-up ads every time you pause the game. We would be ok with ads if the game is free, but you pay $6.99 up front and then you still have to deal with ads. We will not be buying any more BF games.

Price of games has gone up, but the bugs in the games haven’t improved.

Will not work on 11. Wanted to see if we were going to like big fish so we paid for this game full of ads and the sound stopped. Tried to re download game and will not download. Try another brand of HOG.
