What Makes Neverending Nightmares Stand Out

Neverending Nightmares is a psychological horror game inspired by the developer's actual battle with mental illness. In the game, you take on the role of Thomas who awakens from a terrible nightmare only to find that he is still dreaming. As he descends deeper through the layers of hellish dreamscapes, he must hide from horrifying apparitions and outrun his inner demons. He must discover which of the horrors he encounters are a manifestation of his own psychological state and figure out what reality will be when he finally wakes up.

  • Terrifying nightmare worlds inspired by real life struggles with OCD and depression.
  • Black and white artwork creates a distinctive moody and dark atmosphere.
  • Branching narrative features 3 completely different endings.
  • A dynamic lighting system gives the ever present darkness a character of its own.

Player Experience Highlights

Community Insight:

Like we were hyped about this game its good but we use an iphone 11 and no audio plays from the game no matter what we do.

Ima die hard fan for scary games and aderline rushes to the brain. We always wanted to play this game on the playstation 4. This app was great and it was very fun. Scary also.

Extreme and in full force on the atmosphere and suspense, this game is by no means a traditional game; but rather a really scary and thought-provoking experience. The game uses its beautiful yet bleak art style to convey from the start what kind of experience youre in for, and it relies heavily on the imagery and visuals to piece this nightmare together. There are shock/jump scares, but they are used well and effectively as the tension is built up so that the payoff is earned. The sound effects are superb which adds to the immersion, and combined with a stellar creepy music score – as we said, this game is an experience above all, imo, and each piece of the game is perfectly crafted to give the gamer that psychological horror experience. And the inclusion of real life mental disorders gives the game real meaning and something to really think about as you play. Its really up to the gamers interpretation for the most part. There is no hand holding or having things spelt out for you – which makes this type of game all the better. So if you are looking for something a little different and love horror games, then we would say this is definitely worth the price of admission. It will get under your skin if you play late at night in the dark.

Great psychological depth in this frightening masterpiece. We would give it 5 but we get frustrated by the lack of stamina and running controls….. Especially when the axe man comes during a scene in the asylum making for a very difficult exit when it doesnt need to be.

The game is amazing but please fix the sprinting issue we love this game so much but our iPhone X has a big issues with his sprinting please fix this.

We want it could great for iphonex.

Please update this game for iPhone X. Ive followed this game for years and am finally getting to play it. The game is fantastic! But if youre playing on an iPhone X, simple tasks like sprinting are near impossible because your finger keeps drifting into the black border. Also, is our character supposed to come to a complete stop after running out of stamina? This has gotten us killed several times. We cant wait to play this game with an iPhone X update and will update our review once its here. Thanks.

Deleted the game after getting tired of trying to tiptoe past zombies hundreds of times. We hate games where you keep dying and have to restart from a checkpoint over and over.

Holy wow this is one of the most tedious games Ive ever played. Am we going to have to just restart to get out of the area with the giant smashing baby? There is no rhyme or reason to the gameplay and while we appreciate the developers personal journey and what hes trying to say about anxiety and depression, this game isnt making a whole lot of sense. Also, when we can run (it seems like a fluke and happens at weird times) the character will stop moving at the end of a short sprint, usually causing death at the hand of whatever Im trying to get away from. Watched a few walkthroughs on YouTube and it seems like this isnt a problem on a computer? Maybe its an issue with the iPad controls? Whatever the case, very frustrating.
