Ever since we spilled wine on our gaming computer and blew in out in one fell swoop, we’ve been looking for a fun and stimulating iPad game. We LOVE this entire series. We dislike violent games where the protagonist can get killed. We enjoy games that exercise your memory and logic skills, so this one fits the bill. The heroine’s voice is a bit annoying and badly acted, but thankfully she doesn’t talk much. She sounds a bit like Wilma Flintstone. Nevertheless, highly recommended. Note: Developers like Nordcurrent should take note of how free gameplay SHOULD work. This is perfect. You can click on the screen to your heart’s content and not lose ENERGY (coins) Gameplay coins gained by watching ads are faithfully granted without the delays, hiccups or rollbacks.
Thanks for this great series! We’ve really been enjoying them. The graphics are well done and the puzzles and hidden object games are excellent! Lots of fun!
The puzzles where excellent but to get to them you very much need a walkthrough. In fact the walkthrough person had a hard to walk through .
We have bought extra coins for clues and it wont let us use any!!!
But not impossible tasks and side games.

Lots of thinking to get through these puzzles. They are not simple but also not impossible, so it is a lot of fun. Good graphics!
We have played a number of games and this is one that will keep your interest, never get bored, and make you think and remember. Great memory game!!
These games are just great! We’ve played all of Lost Lands, all of Darkness and Flame, almost all of New York Mysteries. We got better at them as we went along. We took the advice from other players and took our time, we were patient and diligent. Over time, we’ve used less and less hints. We enjoy the mind exercise these games are, and it never costs us anywhere close to $6.99 to play. Great games! Keep them coming!

We really like all the five-bn games, and we like this one too except for the guy that tells her what to do. Its jarring because the main characters are always so competent regardless of gender.
We love all the FIVE-BN games we’ve played some more than others. The first 2 NYM versions were great, everything flowed, everything came together and made sense. Then comes #3 and at times we thought we should be taking notes of all the times we were cursing at the game or yelling WTH? We’ve played at least 30 FIVE-BN games, including the bonus chapters on each and have NEVER been so list or gone so far out of the way to find a clue or where a clue belongs. We get you want people to buy hints but lets make it a bit less obvious. And why drop an item when youre gonna need it in the next room? This one frustrated us. But we’ve been frustrated with one-offs in other series, so we’ve town loaded #4 and will give it a go. Thank you for providing entertainment. Im clearly hooked on your games.
Sometimes it feels like theres puzzles for the sake of having puzzles and theres no clues or hints to solve them. Otherwise we like the games and we like the stories.
Played many games like this . This is the first one that , when you use a hint it takes you where you can use more hints . We deleted it because we got tired of watching ads for hints .

We really love these New York mysteries! They are very fun, challenging but not frustrating. We dont like paying for things if we can use them for free, so we really appreciate that its free to play! You only get 5 free hints at the start, which isnt enough for us, but theres an option to get free hints by watching ads, which we really like! We have enjoyed the plots of all of the NY mysteries, they are very engaging! We just have one minor complaint about this one, which isnt a big deal, but we were slightly disappointed that the story of Carrie Martell wasnt expanded further. We know that its mainly just the set up for the larger mystery, but it would have nice if her character had an actual significance other than (SPOILER ALERT) just being killed by a zombie. Besides that, its an absolutely fantastic game, thank you to the developers for making an awesome free game! And we can tell they are passionate about making games, not just about making money, because there are no pop up or in game ads, and there arent any paywalls, and its possible to get through the whole main game without paying a thing!
Its absolutely perfect. Makes you really think about things and throws a mix in as well. Attention to detail is superb and the story is SO full without being over the top! Really enjoy the unlimited free hints but if there was a cap on them per day we would have taken longer playing, as applied to finishing it the same day we got it because we were so into it.
This is by far one of the best we have played of this type of game. Great puzzles, all of the above. We have completed it, so we will now download another New York mystery game of yours!
We love this series! The animation/illustrations are great and the puzzles arent too hard to solve.
Really love the graphics and storyline so far although we’ve been stuck a few times. Our suggestion is that when you use a hint, please take us to the exact spot of where you need to be, not just the room you need to be in.
It would be nice is if we could accrue coins while not playing and more game help when needing to go to different screens to get stuff for past screens. More hints on where to find stuff. We love the game. Very challenging!

We’ve played a lot of these escape games. The graphics are excellent and the puzzles challenging. But, adding the non-functioning free coins button was deceitful and unnecessary. It took away much of the enjoyment of playing.
The games are great; we love them, but we are one who uses hints a lot, and sometimes skip the games during gameplay. One of the things we love with companies like Big Fish games is you pay one flat price per game, and get to use hints and skips as much as you want. These are awesome games, just need to lower the price on your rubies, or at least offer a limitless deal. And, please – keep them coming! Would love a lot more new games!

We’ve played a lot of these types of games and this series is by far the best. Best production value, logical puzzles, a blend of realistic mechanical type puzzles and supernatural stuff but nothing so random that its annoying- everything has a logical solution that may just take time. The cut scenes are great, story is interesting throughout with fun internal lore. In-game graphics arent beyond expectations but the animations are a cut above most other games of this kind. Only flaw we can think of so far is sometimes forgetting what an item we picked up mightve been for – like, we saw a uniquely shaped lock about an hour ago, and we remember seeing that lock, but by the time we find the key we have no clue where the heck that lock was among the many different rooms/areas we’ve been to. Id recommend some sort of icon on the location select map to indicate remaining locks/objectives per area, just to help cut down on back tracking to find where this newly acquired item might need to go. Other than that, cant think of any complaints. Im hope this series is continued for a long time!
We enjoy most all your story puzzle games. Im not use to your ftp setup. You use to let us buy the games, now on some of your other games they are energy base that Im not a fan of. But love stories and puzzles. Please go back to your old setup with being able to just buy the game. So we dont have to start and stop just because we dont have energy to continue. New York 3 has been a lot of fun. Keep up the good work. :-)
We are so hooked on to your game. Graphics are amazing and unlike other games from a different company. Thank you. The only annoying thing is for us to keep pushing different areas of the board if we are stuck and clueless on how to proceed.
The puzzle that requires wiring between points on a board with light bulbs has a bug. The wires wont fill in using the clue from the schematic on the light board. We’ve tried numerous times, including closing the game and restarting, and it wont work. Im guessing this puzzle provides the key to the fire hose which is then connected to the hydrant to knock the last required key off the sign post. Oh Well.
Let us start by saying that we really enjoy the New York Mysteries series. The game is challenging without getting too frustrating, the graphics are great, and the storyline is fun. That said, we cant give NYM 3 five stars, because it had the same issue as the first one, you have to buy hints if you use all of the free ones. In addition, the F2P format doesnt give the player a very interactive map. Theres no markings for areas where the player needs to complete a task, no reminder that the player forgot to find the collection of morphing item, making the map pretty useless. Could we find a walkthrough? Yes, we can, but we dont want to do that. We would rather pay for the game so that we have unlimited hints, an interactive map and a more pleasing game experience. We will wait to see if NYM 4 is brought out in a full game for purchase version. We have seen that there is a full version of NYM 1 and 3, but we didnt find them until after we started playing 3. Please bring out NYM 4 in full game for purchase and Ill come running to buy it.
We have been enjoying this game. Using the tools works really smoothly, compared to others we have played. We have had to use hints to find some objects that were extremely counter-intuitive, however. Nice graphics.

Not for us. We like to get a hint when we want and NOT have to pay for it – especially when the game is paid for. NOT.
We dont think these games should charge for hints. Unless you are sure you wont need hint or want to skip puzzles, dont but this game. Not worth it.
