A Glimpse into Nodeshifter
Nodeshifter is a modern, roguelike arcade game that pits you against an invading horde of Kryptorians in the single most deadly offensive launched against the forces of humankind — through the computer! So get your power gloves out because you’ve been approved to pilot a state-of-the-art Nodeshifter digital vessel.
Each Nodeshifter comes fully equipped with a rapidly orbiting Node capable of summoning destruction at a scale the likes of which has been heretofore unseen. Ok so maybe the Nodeshifter isn’t exactly that advanced… and yes maybe the weapon systems are a little crude but don’t worry along the way you will pick up a number of upgrades to make smashing aliens easier. Sure, it may be in pixels, but that doesn’t make it any less metal.

One of the reasons we love this game is that our dad made and also we love art its so cool and our dad is talented.
This game is really fun and addictive. However, maybe it is just our phone but the experience accumulation doesnt seem to work. We’ve played a number of runs but we still havent unlocked a second cassette spot. Our stats say we’ve made it to level 14; have accumulated 2010 SAALT; but we’ve had zero runs, zero enemies destroyed and zero Cassettes unlocked even though we’ve unlocked at least 3 of them. We think something is wrong. Still a great game though.
Like others whove reviewed Nodeshifter, it took us a few days to really get the hang of the controls/gameplay mechanics, but once we did – the game became an absolute joy to play. And it has the closest to perfect challenge that a game like this could have, adding much more to the level of enjoyment we got from it. We definitely have no regrets about the purchase at its regular price…. So if youre thinking of getting it and its on sale; snag it! If youre looking for something that youll need to put an hour or two into before it REALLY clicks with you, youll be glad you did. To the developer(s?), nice job! You can add another person to the list of people wholl jump at whatever you release in the future. Thank you for the hours of entertainment youve provided… Especially over this last year, with all the down-time and most everything closed, having stuff to fill out multiple hours every single day was badly needed. So yeah, thank you.
This game is great! It is a lot of fun, and has really unique gameplay! However, there are a few problems. One problem is that enemies that cause a slowing effect can cause your nodes to permanently slow down. Also, if you focus on only upgrading the speed of your nodes, the game becomes incredibly easy. The enemies just die the second they reach your nodes. However, aside from that, this is a really great game, and if it wasnt for those 2 problems, it would get 5 stars.
The game is really fun and we would have played for a long time if not for all the bugs. We kept running into bugs that would keep our nodes slowed or frozen even after we killed the enemy causing the effect. This would result in our run ending early because if we literally cannot move the nodes then Im helpless to stop the enemies from hitting us. Its unfortunate cuz the game is really good otherwise and had a lot of potential. If these bugs are fixed in the future we would love to come back to the game.
It is impossible to get past lvl 1 without taking damage because every time we get 4 red guys coming at us at the exact same time and it is impossible to get rid of more than 1 of them without 2 nodes and it is impossible to have 2 nodes on lvl 1.
Whoa we had a hard time making a lot of progress initially but Im glad we stuck with it. Once you get the hang of it, warning, its highly addictive. So much fun and challenging, definitely one of our favorite all time games. Highly recommended!
The game is really addictive and a lot of fun. A little tough in the beginning but once you get the hang of it you really cant put it down!

This game is really fun! Theres so many power-ups that do different things so it never gets boring, and the art style is awesome! We love the old VHS style add-ons.
Absolutely incredible! The perfectly simple and addictive game that is so much fun to play. As a child of the 80s we really appreciate the synthwave/80s nostalgia to the game design and supporting elements. Fantastic!
It took us a bit to get the hang of it, but after a few games it feels so good! Challenging but fun!
Finally a unique mode of action! If you get this game, get yourself a good lawyer too! Our wife has threatened us twice just tonight to put the game down or shes headed for the border with half our stuff, half our money(jokes on her – there is none), and all of our dignity.
