Obey Me! Nightbringer Review

We started playing the first obey us back when it first came out, fell off of it for a while, but came back to it after this game released. Let us tell you, this is so much fun! We actually prefer the rhythm mini games over the mini games in the first Obey us. Obtaining cards in this game is much more generous than the first game (at least right now). Though the most important thing out of all of this more Solomon screen time!!

The app didnt even give us one of those rate our app plz things- we just love this game so much Im writing it myself! The music and the gameplay are 100x more fun then the previous game with more stories and fun! And much more interaction! If you didnt play obey us before we STILL recommend this app! (Unless you dont have a new game to be absolutely CRAZY for!) all the character are absolutely precious and have so much fun interactions- we 100 % recommend this to anyone who likes rhythm games or cute guys.

Both og obey us and Nightbringer is absolutely amazing cant wait what more they bring us.

The 3 models scare us. Especially Levi and Asmos.

We’ve played the OG and we prefer this one so farthe rhythm game and story are more our style. Im so happy about this!

Its insane. We cant believe people are spending 100s of dollars on products that only last you 30mins worth of game play before you need more. Its such an amazing game, and we understand that maybe you need funding to continue to pay app developers and actors and engineers.. But its a mobile game Imagine having to explain to our husband that we spent 2k on a game thats only playable on our phone. Hed be livid. (Im not married) But imagine the amount of minors playing this game and charging their parents CC and Debit cards. Its insane to think that this game is potentially preying on younger teens who easily fall in love with fictional characters.

A lot better than we expected, we love how interactive it is and its so fun to play.

We are only writing this review because the new 3d models that we can virtually see on FS are currently not working or even loading for us. It is just a black screen. Not sure how to fix it.

We wish we could give this game better but oh our god Im holding our cuss words for the changes you guys made. You made it so you literally cannot level cards past 70 without making it level 2. It makes the game much more gacha focused and PAY TO WIN. We bought the $60 beginner package at the beginning and have done a bunch of grinding as well. We had to use everything everything to get a single UR+ card to level 2. If youre going to make level 2 necessary make it easier to get the skill level up cards, because our UR and UR+ cards are absolutely useless. We had to spend EVERYTHING to hope to use our Leviathan card. Im heavily disappointed with the money-grabbing changes and we will be stopping our membership and all support for this game. We thought we had found a game that cared for its player base and their wallets, but all gacha companies are the same. You already had so much support for this game, people were going to spend so much money anyway. Its so disgusting to use these tactics, preying on people who like dating sims.

They undid all the balancing they did in the base game, especially with events. The events in the original were very grindy and unfair unless you had a cheat cards. They remedied this a bit by having 2x boost periods. Not only have they gotten rid of this, but they have made less cheat cards in general so that you have to spend more money for event cards. We have been a fan of this series since release and Im very disappointed in Solmare and how money hungry this game has become.

We love the Obey us franchise and we were excited to hear that there was going to be a sequel. We were even ok when they announced that there would be no new chapters for the first game, that said we were extremely upset to find out that you couldnt transfer your data to the new game. The amount of time and money people have spent on this game for it do be thrown in the trash is unacceptable. If you truly care about your fans youd let them transfer everything that they had from the first game. Other than that the game is decent, not the best and not the worst, wish it hadnt implemented certain things like the level caps and such.

We adore this game, no adds, fun, good plot, cute characters. However, for some reason it just keeps getting stuck on certain parts of the loading screen for us. Right now it stuck at Updating Data at 60%. Is this happening to more people than just us? If so please fix it. Other than that absolutely amazing game, keep up the good work yall.

Its really good BUT as of right now its kinda broken! Fab Snap is constantly broken, showing only a black screen with a pointing finger. We love love LOVE the game and the company, PLEASE FIX THIS!!! Thanks!!

We’ve been playing the original for longer than we can remember, we were so excited when this one came out a few days early. We were playing it non stop for days and Im still playing it a lot! We personally think this one is just so cool because of the rhythm part, we love rhythm games and Im sure a lot of others do. Thank you Solmare for the wonderful new ver of obey us!

We love this game, a lot more then the original, and the story line is great, but we just payed for the VIP subscription, and everything is good and fine, but we cant watch the episodes on deviltube, they are blank for some reason, and same with FabSnap, we cant see anything, its just black with captions, PLEASE fix this. And tell us what we need to do, because we really want to be able to get the full experience.

We love the game so far, the change in mini game instead of it being dance battles its a rhythm game now and its a lot more fun to play! The characters are just as lovable as always and the story (right now theres only 10 lessons) is very immersive, and nicely paced. We do have some struggles so far though and we noticed a lot of other players are experiencing these too 1. Grimm / in game currency Grimm/money/currency is hard to get, and though the game provides things like :D jobs to earn some, its not even close to being enough since leveling up your cards already costs a lot of grimm. We barely get buy with what Im getting, and leveling up a card by even 1 level is difficult. We hope the developers raise the amount of grimm we get in the lvls we play. Earning 250 in normal mode for each round isnt enough for us, especially with the AP/Energy we have. 2. AP AP Runs out pretty quickly so far, after you used up the amount you get for free when you first start the game. AP is used to play the mini games, allowing you to grind any resources and little amount of Grimm. Getting the necessary resources to level up cards take up at least 20x battles, which would already drain you dry of AP. We like playing the mini games but we find myself running out of it JUST to grind 5x battle for some items we need to level up a card in the devil tree. 3. Mini Game Levels Are a Little Hard There are only 10 lessons so far, and everything was pretty easy to get an S rank in the beginning lessons (such as lessons 1-4) but at lesson 5 it became a little harder, then after that its just a struggle to even get a C rank. If getting a D rank in the mini games/songs you play, you will not be able to proceed to the next story. Im currently on lesson 8, and Im just BARELY getting by its very difficult because we need to level up our cards to help us at least get us to a C rank to move on with the story but as we said, AP and Grimm are scarce and very easily runs out. Even when leveling up a card or two a lot, the Estimated rank showcased on the lvl barely increases to a passing C rank. Im currently stuck in the D rank even though we level up our cards with what little Grimm and resources Im able to get. 4. Sort of hard for F2P (Free 2 Play) Players In the beginning we never thought of it, but now Im more closer to level 10, it feels like the game is hard for free to play players. Things such as AP, grimm and even getting devil points is hard for F2P. You can barely even get devil points which are used to summon cards, and you can only do at least one summon every 1-2 days. We hope they make it more playable, for people who dont have any VIP passes or anything. We love this game so far and Id like it if it was a little bit more F2P friendly. 5. Disappointed with the lack of new features As much as we like the new rhythm system instead of the dance battles in the OG Obey us, im pretty disappointed with the lack of new features that feel important to the new Obey us. When the developers announced new features being added to the game we thought it would be more important and cooler. But what they added was some form of tiktok that we dont care about and Wanderers Watch where we can just look at the characters do some activities which feels like the sims. We honestly dont even use FabSnap or Wanderers Watch so it was really disappointing with what we got. The only new noticeable thing is the rhythm game. This whole game felt rushed? As fun as it is so far, its disappointing that they said they wont update the OG obey us because they wanted to add new features that wouldnt work in it. But these were the new features they so badly wanted to add we hope they have more planned than just the 3D models that dont even matter to a lot of their players.

We’ve had no troubles playing games from this company before but for some reason the phone screen at the very start when the player is first introduced to Karasu the AI doesnt show at all we can see Karasus chats but the phone background and any chats or messages become completely blank only showing a black screen with hands pointing to where we would click if we could see where the hands are even pointing too.

This seems good and we’ve heard great things about it, but we cant use anything on the D.D.D the only thing we see when we try to access it is black, does anyone know how to fix this? We really want to play the game but we cant while its like this.

When we go to the bathroom and open this game the poop comes out better.

Now, we adore this game even more than the original. Rhythm games are very fun to us, and thats the majority of the gameplay apart from the story (which has been really good so far). We do have some issues with it though. 1. Grimm is incredibly hard to come by. Grimm is the currency of the game and you use it to level up your cards, but its hard to even get enough Grimm for one card, much less three core cards and three memory cards. The XP isnt enough to level yourself up, and its frustrating. There is a way to get enough Grimm, but its very difficult and tedious. Jobs dont produce enough Grimm for the early game, either. 2. The intimacy levels. We know theyve patched this somewhat, but the levels still tend to reset a bit. Its usually fine and its not a major issue, but its still annoying. 3. Barbatoss Song Remix. This is a personal issue. This game remixed songs from each character, and most of them are good. Except for Crazy About You. It is a rhythmic mess and we find it hard to play just because it does not make sense. It doesnt sound bad, it just sounds uncoordinated. Our favorite remixes are Hungry Six Pack, No. 1, Arcadia, Read our Heart and Our Destiny, but Crazy About You is just annoying to play, even if the vocals are fantastic. Its a wonderful game that we fully intend to continue playing, but these are just our opinions. If you liked the original and/or like rhythm games, this is a great one to play!

We havent finished the original game yet but we couldnt wait when we heard a sequel was coming out! Im loving it so far, especially Ruri Tunes! Its a great change of pace compared to the original games dance battles and doesnt really get boring which was our problem with the first games. There are a few bugs we’ve experienced but arent that big of a deal to us. The first, is when we interact with the home screen character too much, the game wont let us tap anything else such as the arrows on both sides of the screen, or the apps, so we have to close out of the game and reopen it for it to work again. A similar thing happens when Im grinding items on devils tree. Ill be on devils tree and finding the levels we need to grind to collect our items for a few minutes, but when we get back to the homescreen we cant interact with the game anymore, only able to swipe left and right on the homescreen until we close the game and open it again. The other bug thats a tiny bit annoying is the Demmunication app. The app itself is nice, we wish they just kept the chat app from the original games so it kept the calls and messages separate but we dont mind it. The only problem with it is itll give us the notification that someone either called or messaged us both in game and on our real phone, but the chat itself wont show up for hours, and one time a whole day. Im not sure if its just us but its a little annoying seeing as the little red number in the corner will always be there but the message isnt. This is a little annoying because we have no idea when the call or message will actually pop up because it takes so long for it to show up. Other than these small bugs the game works fine! The levels difficulty can shoot up out of nowhere if you arent paying attention and over level your cards once you start the game but with the devil points being MUCH easier to get compared to the first game its way easier to get back on track and not being stuck for long periods of time. Not to mention unlike the first games complete reliance on your cards levels, Ruri Tunes gives you a chance to squeak by the levels even if your cards are a lower level without wasting a bunch of items. Its really a nice change Im glad happened. The 3D models are cute and really give a little more life to the characters and just watching the map and seeing the characters walk around or going through the memory box in the guest room is something we really love about these games. Little goofy touches such as Levi chasing Mammon on the map, Lucifer and Satan pacing back and forth, and so on really gives the characters more personality than they already have.

SHADOW WIZARD MONEY GANG WE LOVE CASTING SPELLZ.

Okay, so we’ve been really hyped ever since we heard there was going to be a new game. But Id wasnt expecting it to be like this. (In a good way) we’ve been playing ever since it came out and it has been an addiction.

(Therw is one problem our fab snap doesnt work its just black.. ) im so happy yall changed the battles THEYRE SO FUN TO DOOO and the music.

Nightbringer is similar to the original but adds a few more fun things and finally gives a continuation to the story. The only thing Id request is this: 1. Plz make ace/asexual-friendly options as Asmo is our fav character but his comments can get uncomfortable and borderline annoying at times. 2. Plz fix the 3d models that were added in this version. Some are okay, but most of themthey are terrifying and haunt our dreams.

We love the story and the new mechanics. However sometimes when we go to jobs the game freezes or crashes. And it always crashes when we wanna watch ads for rewards. But other than the bugs this is a great game and we cant wait to see where it goes.

While the story line is definitely quite similar to the previous game, its a better experience in a lot of ways! The dance battles in the previous game have been changed into mini rhythm games very reminiscent of Muse Dash. This just makes these levels a lot more fun and has more of an impact on your score if youre skilled enough to keep your combo! Though we will admit that as someone whos played a fair amount of rhythm games, the beat maps could definitely be improved, with some higher difficulty levels. Theres also a good amount of options for ftp players we think, since if you can do some extreme levels and keep at it you dont even have to go through gacha to get UR+ cards anymore. Though we do wish that for people that connected their accounts they would get extra bonuses in this new game, we also dont mind starting from the very beginning again. We definitely recommend it to people that enjoyed the original game, or didnt get to play it before! :)

THIS IS SO FAR THE BEST GAME THAT IVE EVER PLAYED (and thats saying a lot cuz we’ve played a lot of games especially rhythm games) WHEN YOU DOWNLOAD THIS MIRACLES HAPPEN!! Okay but on a serious note this is such a great game and Im grateful to all of the cast and the developers for putting so much work and effort into these wonderful games!! Keep up the great work!

We just now started playing and when you first enter your phone all you see is black, and we dont really know what to do. The game runs perfectly fine but we just cant see anything.

We’ve been playing the original Obey us! For about two years. We absolutely adore it, and its one of our favorite games. We love the characters and plot. The only part we wasnt a fan of was the minigame between chapters. It just didnt entertain us as much. This game, however, is such an improvement in that aspect. It maintained the same characters and humor we’ve loved for years, but the new rhythm minigame is so much better than the original minigame in our opinion! This one feels like its more based on a combination of skill and card level, while the original minigame was mainly focused on card level. This is a bit unrelated, but we also like the claim all button in the To Do screen. We dont believe its in the original game (unless we just missed it), but it makes it so much more convenient to collect rewards. Overall, we are just loving this game so far, and we cant wait to see how it goes!

We really like the new rhythm game feature! We played the OG obey us for over a year until we stopped playing it. This game made us get back into the story again.

Dont even scroll through these just download.

Super fun we really like the story so far!

Its so good! We’ve been playing it for days straight! And we still do love the OG obey us :}

Devs, this is amazing. Thank you so much for not only putting in work for the OG game, but putting so much love into this one as well. Massive props to you guys! <3 Id also like to add that we enjoy battling now. Im excited to get through the story because we love the gameplay which was lacking in the original. Great job guys!

We love this we used to play obey us!, so much especially during quarantine and we would sometimes forget on our birthday why we would get random notifications until we finally woke up and now they upgraded the game!!! We cant wait to see whats all in store for meeee.

Though obey us nightbringer just released we love it with all our heart it reminds us of colorful stage with just only 2D models. And we love Ruri-Tunes and the battle scenes its so freaking adorable seeing that character in chibi.

This game has brought us back to our obey us phase, we’re so in love with the plot and all the distinct characters <3.

We dont know anything about this we just like rhythm games.

Its a nice game, and we adore it! However, for some reason during the tunes game, whenever we do hit the beat it doesnt register. Idk if this is only us or what but its very annoying. It messes up getting full combos, and makes it hard to enjoy the Runitunes.

The game just came out so Im hoping this gets fixed soon, but sadly the Fabsnap feature just gives us a black screen while the audio plays. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, as well as restarting our phone. So far nothings worked so we assume its just a bug since we’ve seen a few other reviews about this problem. The game itself is good, albeit similar to the original. Still having a good time. We wished they updated the 2D sprites to be different than the original game, as well at the R and SR card arts.

As somebody who plays rhythm games like muse dash we were excited to see a game we play have a rhythm version of it. We were hoping this version wasnt so heavily reliant on character leveling for a S score and wished good accuracy would be enough, sadly this is not the case. Knowing the game recently came out this might be a lot but we were wishing they could optionally change the difficulty the songs in normal mode to something higher. It would be nice if you could get a higher score by doing harder songs. The gameplay note placement feels a little off but bearable. Other than that im invested in the storyline and am constantly rushing the stages to get the next part of the story. The 3d models bug us but thats the usual for 3d anime models. Theyre way more generous with devil points in this version than the og game. We are looking forward to see the progress of this game in the future.

As someone who has played Obey us! In the past, it may be a bit biased. We love the ideas Nightbringer has. As someone has said, in order to truly understand the game, you would need to get to lesson 80 in Shall we Date. However, that doesnt drive away from what context clues were given. We love the idea of the rhythm games, but the only thing Im caught up on is how it is practically like this other rhythm game that came out before it known as Muse Dash. Down to the style, enemies, notes, ghost notes, jumps, and bosses. Its the exact same gameplay but with recognizable characters. We wish they had brought something a bit different for the rhythm game portion. It was a bit disappointing. Perhaps they were inspired by Muse Dash, but it just looks like a copy to us. Other than that, the 3D models were a bold choice. Some can look pretty janky at times, but overall they capture the character. It seemed like some of the model mouths got stuck in certain positions, but thats to be expected, as stuff like that happens all the time in 3D VR games. We love the series as a whole, and we love how we can be in the perspective of a demon, however, we wish there were some proper credit somewhere (if we missed it disregard this) to Muse Dash.

Im enjoying this spin-off app for the main game Obey us. A lot of love and care was put into it with the new rhythm mini-game and remixes of the main songs, the ability to peek and observe all the bois doing their everyday things, and the whole new user interface, and whole new cards to collect. TBH though, we’ll stick to the original game (I can only concentrate on one app game at a time) but also having to recollect everything is a huge downer. And the story fluff isn’t really grabbing us.

We’ve played the original Obey us, since launch and we were really excited for the release of Nightbringer. Needless to say, the visuals look great and much love to all of our beloved seiyuus. The issue we have is with the beat maps. We’re an AVID lover of "Muse Dash" which is what it seems like Night bringer has based their gameplay off of. However it really feels like they took a look at Muse Dash and said "lets take all of the bright colors but none of the actual gameplay functionality". Ngl after playing the tutorial we could already tell that it wasnt going to be easy for first time players to get used to the beat maps. The amount of questions in the community about how to fix the settings for the game is already telling of how confusing it is. The GUIDELINE for the beats gets LOST in the bright colors from the backgrounds and the notes. Not to mention that line is literally the size of a piece of string, theres no way youre going to see that tiny thing buried UNDER those bright notes and backgrounds. We know you can lower the brightness of the screen but obviously again if you’re introducing new gameplay it should be easy to pick up to the new beat map players. Not to mention that there definitely needs to be more visual cues as to when you’re supposed to hit the notes. Devs if youre going to have the characters LOOK like theyre going to hit the notes, JUST LET THEM HIT IT. The awkward space between the character chibis, the guide line, and the notes throws us off even though we’ve adjusted the brightness AND the timing. Please fix these issues for smoother gameplay, you should also have a flashing light warning of some sort in there. We’ve seen people comment about that as well.

Love the game and what it adds to the series, but there are so many bugs that its virtually unplayable sometimes. Sometimes Im met with loading screens that are stuck at 0%, sometimes unprompted ads open during the rhythm game which cause us to miss a lot of beats, sometimes the rhythm game starts lagging and skipping frames.

Ok so Im a huge fan of the game and we love how much some of the game has changed but when ever we do a battle sometimes the buttons dont work when we even press on the right time which it doesnt bother us to much since its not a big deal but we would like it to get fixed please since Im a huge fan of then games.

The only good thing about this game series are the 2D illustrations. The 3D is a complete letdown. Do they know anything about texturing other than slapping flat colors? The story writing feels like those fan fics the Wattpad preteens wrote before 2016. As a player who played the original version of the game, this game is a carbon copy of it with little bits of changes. The core rhythm game gets stale extremely quickly. The flashy eye-straining colors make this look like a game for preteens? We cant stop thinking that this game looks like our Little Pony. The story content vs the gameplay content doesnt fit very well. Most parts of the game are not voiced. We wouldnt have minded the optional download of a few GB for them like the other story rhythm games (ex. Proseka, Enstars).
