Offline Poker – Texas Holdem Review

Great game, these cats at Grandmas are the worst lol.

We really enjoy this app . We play everyday.

This app is fast paced as you are playing a computer. We’ve learned and been able to practice new strategies on this game very efficiently.

Im loving this app, first of all. Im wondering however, how close the difficulty is to live play? And does it get more challenging as you advance through the leagues? Im just getting back to poker after many years but seem to be doing far better here than we did IRL.

Play is very quick, no data needed.

Love the simplicity not too much not too little just perfect.

Great game we love it its definitely realistic.

First time playing and we find this one ti be very friendly. Love it.

Its a pretty great app to learn and play poker give it a try.

Love playing against the cats at grandmas house! A very fun way to learn Texas Hold Em poker.

All the fun with none of the risk.

Im in the NAVY and when Im underway this keeps us busy.

Super helpful! Love option to relay hands for learning.

Incredible game, AI is decently smart and the game plays smooth. All it needs is higher $$$ lobbies or something like that!

Its a decent app for practice. But the only way to win is to play very strong high cards/suited cards. The bots only play with two high cards or a pocket pair. They sandbag every time, so unless you have top pair, forget about betting or calling. Its boring, but you just have to wait till you have strong cards before betting or calling. Forget about drawing handsthe bots are so tight that you never have implied odds to chase. The game isnt rigged, but the bots are simply extremely tight and you can beat them by adjusting accordingly. Specifically, you can steal from them on the flop with basically anything if there are no high cards on board. If they call, they have an overpair. So then you can just fold on the turn if you dont improve.

Pretty well programmed holdem game. Doesnt run a lot of pay scams and the bots can be pretty fun to play with.

Im going to keep this short and easy to read this game is great we really do love it but there is something that is bugging us about it we think its because the setup and who your NPC players are we think there should be a way where you win a certain amount of times you should get a new character like if we win one time we have a certain chance of getting common-uncommon-rare- epic or something like that.

If you want to learn the basics of the game without delaying other players. We picked this up and played for a few weeks as a totally new player, and it definately taught us some the basics of the game that we would need to know before playing against other people. The bots pretty quickly become easy to play against; they don’t like it when you re-raise them and so you can pretty easily take advantage of that fold equity you have over them to rake in a huge bankroll. The bots are also the same at the higher tournament levels. It became pretty obvious once we learned this that we would need to seek other outlets if we wanted to advance our game. Overall we would say this app is great for a beginner or if you just want to practice but won’t always be able to be "online". Just realize that the bots are exploitable in pretty specific ways and you won’t always be able to just raise your way to victory as a LAG player.

This is app is great for refining ones poker game and sharpening the higher order skills of poker, as there are no meters indicating your chances of winning the hand, no indicator of what hand you have, etc. There are also no super flashy bells and whistles, although if Im looking for a casino-style experience there are some nice apps for that. Our only issue is the AI in both this app and the tournament version seem to back off way easily on a raise. Most of the time if we raise so much as $5 the AI folds immediately. This isnt a big issue for us, but it would be a bit more challenging if the AI didnt back down on a raise so easily. Otherwise, this app is a keeper! Especially while being in bed ill for the past week.

There is a glitch in the game and if you can figure it out you can win most games There needs to be a 100,000 buy in and larger Fun though.

For reference we’ve been playing this game for only a couple of days. The betting is super aggressive and doesnt seem logical at all. There were multiple times in the lowest game ($500 buy in game) where the AI was betting $100+ before there were even 3 cards showing. As a result we fold most games to avoid betting $100+ dollars with no cards on the table. And even the games where they arent that aggressive it just seems like the AI all folds immediately or 1 will keep playing it will have slightly better cards than us. Even when we have decent cards the AI always seems to have better cards. Personally we wish there was either better AI or difficulty options (easy, medium, hard, etc). We downloaded the game to have easy relaxing games not ones where we lose our entire bank roll in 3 turns if we dont fold.

But sometime is missing here. Maybe its the table layout. Maybe its something else. We really do love poker. But we always end up deleting this game. Then after a few months, we download it again. Then we end up deleting it again. We mean no disrespect to the developer! He really is trying. The introduction of increasing blinds is strong evidence of that. Heres an idea. Why not have an Omaha poker option? Allow the user to play at a Texas Holdem table or at an Omaha table.

We enjoy the simple interface and quick movement but its next to impossible to matriculate to the next level. And it seems whenever we get a strong hand everyone else folds.

The AI is so aggressive that we just wait until we get lucky but it definitely feels like you or the AI is supposed to win a string of hands.

This game feels so real! It really keeps us engaged and anxious. Its the only thing going when we are playing. We find it fairly easy to identify our fiercest opponent, but it is not an easy task to take them down. If at all. It is fun and we do like this game. However, it unfairly creates a better hand for opponents, thus, giving you a great second-best losing hand. Very frustrating! In a one-on-one situation, the opponent almost always folds and never calls even the slightest bet. Making it impossible to beat the entire table.

This is a fantastic offline game and we loved the ability to compete with others for points and extra chips. For some reason though, our game disconnected from the league and wont reconnect. We deleted and redownloaded the app which only reset our bankroll. So now Im back to the beginning with no option of connecting to a league. Its not that big of a deal since its not like we need to spend money to fill our bankroll back up. Im only disappointed in the inability to reconnect and rank up again.

We cant tell you how many times we’ve had the best hand, only to be defeated by the one card our opponent needed on the river. We know how odds work. So maybe Im just unlucky. Or maybe this app is programmed to give the computer player a slight edge. That way, the player would be more likely to buy more chips. Developer, please consider offering a paid app, one where if you go broke you are automatically given 2500 chips or so. No buying of more chips. No watching of ads. That sure would help.

Gameplay and interface are excellent, but the computer AI isnt great at all. Last guy left at your table (the computer AI) knows your cards and will always either fold or catch the better hand. Makes the game basically like playing a slot machine. We have a screen shot in our phone where our straight to the ACE with beat by a royal flush. We mean this game really doesnt have a realistic AI and really doesnt want to let you win the table. Its pretty much waste of time.

We had multiple hands that should have won other the others and we lost.

Great interface, its very simple and tactile which we like. Nothing flashy or confusing about it. However, the AI is heavily favored. On more than one occasion we clearly had a better hand yet the AI won. You can go 20+ rounds without having even a semi-decent hand yet the AI somehow get high pairs and flushes 75% of the time. So much so to where you know its not just bad luck. Very frustrating.

Once we got bumped up its just a bunch of bullies betting high with nothing but an ace. We dont see any way to jump back down to mid so Ill probably move on.
