Partia 2 – Entertainment Game Review
![]()
Partia 2 is a Entertainment/Strategy/Roleplaying game from Imago Software, first launched in 22nd October 2014.
It’s rated 9+ and currently has 31+ ratings on the App Store.
What Makes Partia 2 Stand Out
Partia 2 is a SRPG (Strategy Role-playing) video game inspired by Fire Emblem and Tear Ring Saga series. In a high fantasy setting, the game will take players through an adventure where magic and sword collide and friendship and betrayal intertwine.
Partia 2 : The Pretenders War is a sequel to Partia: The Broken Lineage. The game packs 22 stages that could present challenges to any SRPG fan.
Partia 2 introduces many new features, including the choice of "Common turn" rule where all factions make moves alternatively (like Chess) instead of taking turns to move all his/her units. I believe this will bring a new nuance to gameplay if a player choose to do so. It can be toggled in intermission, and you can always play the game in the traditional FE way. (Common turn idea is from Berwick Saga) AI had improved a lot, and horse units now can move after attacking, if they have remaining move distances.
Regrettably, the game could not deliver large animation battle. If you felt the game looked bad in Partia 1, then you'll find this game look much the same, except we have much bigger and nicer character portraits. It is because original Partia was never profitable, making Partia 2 production running on fume. (It sold around 6000 copies in two years) The stress of not getting paid almost broke our team of two, but somehow sheer will allowed this game to be out here for you. So whether this game series is success or not, I am immensely proud of the results. How many five year projects can a person do in a life time? ;-) Many times I was tempted to include some IAP stuff into the game and get cheap dollar or two, but I decided against it. More than anything, I rather have this game to be remembered as good, than have that IAP distaste.
So you may refrain from purchasing this game if you didn't like Partia 1. But I promise you it will be a much better experience (and much more challenging) if you did enjoy the original Partia.
Thank you all, and please let us know what you think!

Recent Updates & Development
Latest Update: 19th November 2025
Recent improvements include:
The game is retrofit to use the latest Partia engine used for TOP and WS, enabling full screen.
Also sadly I could not reconcile the game's updated engine to work with older save files: So you may need to delete the game and reinstall to start it from the beginning.

Community Insight:
Im still playing in 2024. We have bought them all but came back to this one due to the ability to grind out arena love the game, worth the money.
Starting our annual play through of the trilogy. We still think about this series to this day. It's getting decently aged now and probably is lost in the sea of forget but it holds a special place in our memory. If you somehow manage to find this game we can say it is worth the costs. Long live Partia.
And that is exactly what we wanted.
Just need to do some grinding. Need more info on items. What do the mysterious tomes do? And how to use it? Gonna play the 3rd one next.
We got this game a while ago, we stopped playing because we didnt understand some of the functions of the game. Now that we better understand them we love playing the game! Its a great mobile game that we cant seem to put down. There are a few bugs but its a great game and we cant wait to play the other ones.
Great game. Finally finished the first game which was a great challenge and a great story. Im pleased so far and excited to buy the third game once we finish this one.
To sum it up, we love the game. However, we would like to see an update fixing the exp system. As of right now we can get our units to level 20 before the 3rd chapter.. >.< $6.99 for Partia 3. We understand that money is needed to create a game but it still is rather expensive.
We see test good better clear no freeze thank you.
Best game we have played since fire emblem, PLEASE make a 3rd game.
Even though this isn't the games we grew up with, Partia 1 and 2 brought a lot of the same feelings. Great game guys.
We wanted to give this game a second chance, here's our biggest problem with your 2 game series. It's WAYYYY WAYYYY WAYYYY TOO LUCK BASED! And the RNG is brutal! We're at the chapter where you fight that dark haired swordsman who fought you in the first level, we think it's chapter 3? He is WAYYY too strong! Like…either save him for later or make him someone you run away from, not to mention most normal units are way too strong for the enemy or way too weak for the player. Now you might say we should arena abuse, but we shouldn't HAVE to grind like that in a game like this! Like, not everyone has the patience for that! Overall, good game ruined by luck based idiocy.
So after the most recent update we go to play the game and see how better it preforms. To our surprise MY SAVE FILES ARE GONE! Poof vanished! We were almost finished with the game and we had 3 saved files just in case one accidentally got messed up so getting on to having to start all over when we spent forever grinding in the area to max out all our characters was a huge let down. Fix this! Please.
Much like the previous game, this game has lots of problems even now as we write this regarding how it just crashes for no reason at all during the gameplay. This might have been bearable if the game properly kept your progress after the crashes but thats just a roll of the dice. The game crashed 3 times and we could still resume the ONE battle we were trying to get through but then after the 4th crash we lost all progress and had to start over from scratch on the battle. The UI is also not that great which adds to the frustration of this game. If these two things were fixed Id give this game a solid 3.5 for being a relatively okay fire emblem clone but it cant seem to even fix the basic things that would make most of the other flaws bearable. Id suggest to wait for an official Fire Emblem game on here or wait until someone makes a better clone because this game is not it.
We absolutely love the game! We are up to battling Malak, but it seems that we cannot attack him, only defend and counterattack, we cannot use any of our archmages or snipers. We also cannot attack his healer. Please let us know if this is how it is supposed to be.
We are stuck on the level where you and that chick fall into a cave. We don't know to complete the level. We've killed all the enemies and it still doesn't end.
We really enjoy this game because of its likeness to Fire Emblem, but this update has something wrong with it. Maybe it has to do with the difficulty, but all our progress just got deleted. We apologize to the creator if this is only on our version, but we shouldn't have to restart the whole game. Please undo whatever happened.
Close as you're going to get to Fire Emblem on your phone. Clearly an independent project, but they put a lot effort in to it. Good for many hours of gameplay.
We love this style of game! It reminds us of fire emblem, which was one of our favorite games growing up. We'd recommend this to anyone.
Finally part 2 has arrived! Not nearly enough turn-based strategy games in the world.
We loved Partia and am excited to play Partia 2. It is rare to find a game that has enjoyable mechanics and storyline among the onslaught of cheap, short lifespan, pay-to-win games. Who cares about graphics anyway.
We need to support developers who are willing to make premium titles on the mobile scene when f2p models are always much more profitable. The game needs polish, but it's still a wonderfully fun experience if you're a fan of the Gba fire emblem games.
When using the reset Lv item, it force closes the app.
This was a good game but not a direct sequel to the original. If it was a direct sequel with character development it'd be five stars. Please pick up where the first one left off in the third installment.
We were looking forward to a direct sequel to the first – a promotion for the main prince character and a continuation of our previous cohort. Haven't played this one all the way through, but was disappointed that it wasn't a direct sequel.
Crashed prior to being able to save after the first scenario:(. Not worth it to do over. Consider our $6 a tip.
This game is awesome! One issue that we're having: The vamp attack skill activates sometimes and ends up killing our unit instead. We don't know if anyone else is having this problem but it's annoying.
The graphics may be old school, but the developers put a lot of love into this game. The character images are definitely better than the original. The ability to equip armor, artifacts, and assign skills that you find has made for some interesting character development. We've really enjoyed playing.
After playing Partia several months ago, we loved it and wondered if a part 2 would ever come. It finally has! We haven't started yet, but we're so excited to play it. If you want a fire emblem type game, this is for you! This is a must-have game.
We haven't gotten very far in the first Partia installment, but we are a huge fan of the SRPG genre, and admire the developer's love for the genre and dedication to creating the best experience at their disposal. We look forward to finishing the first installment, and diving head first into this one. Keep up the good work! You have our support and respect.
This is a genre that we simply love. Having played the fire emblem series since its first iteration, we're glad to see how much love the developers have for that series and how much work they have put into this game. If live the fire emblem series, give this game a chance.
These partia games are the closest you will get to fire emblem. We would like better animation graphics and a better story. It is somewhat random. Please make a 3rd soon we'll be looking forward to it! Thanks.
Looks like there is glitch in stage 5 but otherwise the difficulty is much better here.
It has a somewhat better introduction and character development than the first one. It is a bit harder since you don't get any promoted characters at the beginning of the game, so it's harder to grind for money. All of the chapters crash right off the bat or in the middle of it, specially 5 and 7 so that's something that really needs to be fixed asap. Other then that, the game is truly enjoyable.
