Some of the other creators of HO games need to take notes. Phantasmat Nailed this one, at least thats our opinion. We love supernatural, fun puzzles for the mind, and a good story. Great job on this release.

Eipix presents this extremely spook filled game full of spectacularly drawn nightmares! The overall look is dark and gloomy, hops can be hard to see but has match 3 options. Great game for a rainy night! Verdict: Buy!

This was challenging yet linear. You definitely get what you pay for. Great long story (short bonus chapter but that is fine). Really made you use your head.

Just played this again after few yrs and really love the game! Reminds us of MCF Ravenhurst-creepy but very interesting! Wish more games were like this.

WOW. Enjoying this game very much. Key West Jessa.

Many scenes just too dark to see hidden objects.

Note to KimTwilight: No cute ghosts! This game was basically a Macabre archaeological treasure hunt, in Scotland. The storyline was one we could easily follow for a change. You could customize settings. The graphics were quite good for EIPIX, albeit murky and gloomy, to set the tone for this frightening game. Tasks were regularly updated. Inventory was labeled and there were complex items to assemble. Inventory usage was a bit unusual but it wasnt outrageous. There was a marked teleport map to transport you instantaneously between locations. At certain locations you must find a morphing object; an indicator is provided and will turn green after you collect it. The HO scenes were pretty standard; at least you had a match-3 alternative. As for the puzzles/games, some were ridiculously simplistic and others required you to challenge your mind. Many were rotational but there were a few new ones that we actually enjoyed. Although this game was quite unnerving at times, we really liked playing it. Unfortunately we cannot give it a 5 star rating. We deducted a star for length (even inclusive of the bonus adventure it was extremely short) and also for some touch screen sensitivity issues. Those were not too bad; we had a bit of trouble manipulating a couple of the puzzles while trying to rotate pieces. However, the overall quality assurance level was improved from the last couple of games by this developer. If you like this series you will probably like this game. BigFish, this was a good week! Thank you! Happy gaming, reviewers!

Enjoyed the game but had to skip some puzzles as they were too difficult to figure out.

Liked the game but many areas are so dark and shadowy that it is hard to see. Some of the games are also difficult to understand.

We agree with others who have said that the scenes are too dark to truly enjoy the game. We find myself getting tense as we try to see the puzzles. Brighten up the background and this would be a much better experience.

Phab. Phantastic. Phantabulous. The longer we play- the better it gets. We absolutely LOVE this game. We deliberately slowed to a crawl to draw it out, savor every minute. It’s wickedly delicious. Phantasmat is one of our top phavorite series. We happen to favor darker mysterious genres, which is exactly what Phantasmat embodies- &they didn’t disappoint! So here’s an even longer review: (yes… It’s possible) Exciting from the word "ROW!" … One second you’re alone on a rowboat with a creepy guy with a thick Irish (Scottish?) brogue, at dusk, facing a huge dark menacing Castle atop a jutting cliff that’s looming in the background…. Then… BAM! … Next thing you know you’re underwater- only to resurface w/creepy guy gone… For now.. Super opening. Next, an early mini-game arrival, an unexpected happy diversion from the standard HOP (ah, it’s the little things..) off to a really great start… Includes the Essentials: Custom Difficulty Free Instant Transport Zero Lag/Glitches And it gets better: PROS: Interesting and engaging Storyline, unfolding at a steady pace w A mix of great realistic graphics and automations that’s set off by a mostly dark matte scheme, variations of blacks, greens, grays &whites – awesome No waiting for a change of scenery. You’re constantly in the move with multiple areas both indoors &out, numerous cool and intricate details at every turn, like the veiny skeletal hand blended into the cliff, creepy jesters w/tons of eerie pop ups -LOVE Music is anticipatory, filled w rich bass tones.. Reminiscent of a scary movie &the Realistic Sound Effects (best w headphones!) are often fantastically cringeworthy Radio Mini-Game is a fun concept, loved the transition afterwards Plenty of 2-1, & 3-1 HOP’s that are much longer than normal- So Happy Stone Square Mini-Game was unique &fun Octopus Shape Game – simple, but fun, appreciated both parts &transition CONS: The 2-1 Globe Game. We were SO excited to play… Only to find it’s been completely dumbed down. The game won’t allow a piece to be released unless you’ve selected the accurate placement. Then you can’t advance unless you select the right direction. Why?? How is that even a game? By removing ANY challenge, guesswork or thought – it’s perfect for under age 5. What a huge loss of potential. Under Water Scenes. Delete. We could’ve done without it. But at least make all the travel/hoop jumping worth it by offering an extra cool interactive Mini-Game… Endless possibilities. WAKE UP! Mobile Testers! Look at the actual parameters and placement of the HO’s, Puzzles and Mini-Games on mobile phones! 1) The edges are practically flush with the background- without a buffer it nearly impossible to select/move an item, navigate controls or piece together without constantly activating the wrong things and/or backing out/closing it down. EX: The (?) buttons are so close together and located halfway on/off the perimeter- so you’re constantly activating them and the placement of HINT and SKIP also interferes. ——– our standing request: PUSH that envelope!! —> -we can take it! While we appreciated the newer games, I’d be thrilled with more difficulty-increasingly Complex, Challenging, and Unique HOP’s, Puzzles … And please add Multi Level Mini-Games. OVERALL: JUST LOVED IT. It was such an impressive improvement, with so many upgrades and variety. We especially loved the timing; with one fun HOP or Mini-Game after another, the ongoing activity, the division into two parts and practically every scene was jam packed, containing objects of purpose… Adding to the excitement of "what’s next?" Speaking of…. We are SO looking forward to the next installment. Well done! San Phran Fan (Couldn’t resist)

Three stars because there are numerous HOPs and puzzles. Not linear, didnt know what to do next. Improved customized settings to a 10 second refresh rate (from 15 seconds). No objects to be found on screens, just morphing objects.

Feel more like a mechanic. So far no hidden object puzzles.

If you like very dark and creepy it will probably be for you.

Started out intriguing, then went bizarre. Found game to be too dark with a few glitches. Storyline we felt got lost and turned into a lot of running around aimlessly. Disappointed for this series, which we have always enjoyed. Lot’s of special effects – but was lacking in purpose. Hopefully, next in this series will be better. Just not our cup of tea. KdBoots.

Scottish translation of title: Get ready for some disturbing nightmares! Don’t blame us — that’s what the on-line Scottish translator told us! We’re a big "phan" of Phantasmat. However, even though the artwork is splendidly horrifying, just as we like it, the "chasing-after-an-artifact" storyline is cliched; and the gameplay is devoid of trend-setting techniques. The plot fails to evolve into an intelligently structured context; we find myself wandering around aimlessly, focusing on the dreadful imageries instead of on what our true purpose really is. The main attractions in this game are the petrifying visuals. The illustrations are saturated in creepy imageries that are disturbing and repellent enough to make us shudder in fear. The macabre-looking Joker, in apparition form, throwing his sharp and deadly cards at you, is an example of this perception. One negative aspect about the graphics, which seems to be a pervasive trait in most horror-themed games, is that the monochromatic coloration throughout the entire game is dull and monotonous, with each scene completely blending into the others. As to the quality of the graphics — blotchy, muddy, unpolished, murky. You get the point. You can customize your settings. The inventory is labeled and interactive; items require assembly. In custom mode, the teleport map facilitates brisk travel to labeled locations and indicates available actions. Transition between scenes is smooth and quick; no glitches to report. The HOSs comprise multi-layered formats — a hallmark trait of this developer. They are thematic and creative, but we’ve seen these recycled types before. The puzzles were mostly easy, although a few needed to be to worked out a bit. Unfortunately, we are sorely missing the avant garde puzzles — spiked with a challenging touch — of this developer’s past. You are guided by a morphing object indicator while collecting the morphing objects within most locations. We are left feeling underwhelmed with this installment. We wasn’t able to play the last game in this series due to glitches. But the prior games were better, especially the storylines. Furthermore, the free trial, which is very brief, does not afford a player a reasonable opportunity to determine whether or not a purchase will be worthwhile. Moreover, we are left feeling underwhelmed by the entry-level gameplay. Finally, the atmosphere evinces a stimulating consciousness, but the rest of the game does not. We rate this game 3 stars, deducting 2 stars for the unimaginative gameplay and the lackluster storyline.

The graphics were ok but the story line was lacking. We left this game many many times because we were bored. We have no real interest in playing the bonus game and will save it for when we are desperate for a game to play. We read Kim Twighlights’ review after we bought the game and we would say that her review is dead on.

Although we are enjoying the game so far there was a major issue in downloading it. It took us 6 tries to download…. Finally on the last try we were able to download. Very frustrating… And it was the last chance we were going to give this game. We hope there are no more issues in playing the game. That is why a 3 star rating… Need to fix the glitch.

Good music and atmosphere and plot that doesn’t go overboard with too much video story. We like the other character. But we agree Its very dark and hard to see. Also having some annoyance where you have to use the correct inventory over and over until it work which is frustrating. We find only the Elephant games are 100% on that. We liked it enough to unlock so hope it continues to be enjoyable and we don’t over play because when inventory doesn’t work we stop playing for the night.

We really enjoy the games and graphics. Especially the ghosts and the odd but creative sound effects. Some games were way too easy and we had some problems getting the map to work. The story was too long and repeated itself a lot. Often times had trouble in HOS picking up the items. Simplify and shorten the stories. And if you find the extra item in a scene remove the spiral. Good pass time though.

We gave this 5 stars before we had played much of it. It got bleak and screens were dark and we began to not care what our goal was. We do like the games with more interesting characters and critters are a big thing for us. We are playing this but not with much joy. However all the Big Fish games are far better in General than the others so maybe we are nitpicking. Hope to see Elf roll around soon and games where we can amass points to buy things for rooms or for Elf. Or any games with critter helpers.

We were engaged at first, but the overly dark screens made it difficult to solve some puzzles. We often guessed in order to move forward, which was tiresome. Finally finished the game, unexpectedly, only to find the bonus game to be buggy. We’re completely shut down, clay jug doesn’t activate the barrel to give jug with water, while the help button just says perhaps I’d better move on, in every scene. BORING!!

The story was boring and the graphics were only so so. Too dark to. We basically kept hitting the hint and skip buttons because there was nothing intuitive about the hidden objects or puzzles.

We like Big Fish games and have played all IPad games for about two years. The map on this game works great. We love the reminder button for the morphing objects on the page. Sometimes we cant remember if we’ve searched for an item; our brain doesnt work as well as it did when we were younger. This game got only three stars from us because we will never understand why the scenes are so DARK.

We got a few screens into the bonus game and it glitched. It put us back a few puzzles but didnt give us the tools back to move forward again. We closed and opened the game again and it started us back at the main game again!

Its amazing how differently people can perceive things, like this game. We see others who say its great, and we think its awful. The artwork is rather blurry, and identifying items was difficult. The puzzles were blah. The trial version, which is all we played, was confusing without help from the hint button. We wasnt expecting much, since we have yet to find a game in this series worth buying. And it didnt exceed those expectations. We wont be buying this one, either.

Graphics was good, but not really grasping or long enough… Usually these games are better than that.

We simply cannot get the water into the clay pot. We have tried and tried. This really burns our biscuits.

Stupid game we hate so boring nothing to do very easy not challenging.

Cant continue the game due to a bug? It wont let us do an action that Im ment to do (fill the clay pot with water)

Backgrounds of black with dark green made many scenes so dark we had to use a hint or tap all over the screen to find anything. Not fun.

Stop begging for reviews when we are trying to play!

The puzzles were awful. The story was boring. Its the first time we’ve wanted one of these games to be shorter. Repetitive and boring. Cannot wait to be done with it.
